This thread is primarily for participants of the IC thread Nowhere To Go, a roleplay we have already kicked off with some active participants, but it can serve as a light interest check too.
I thought we would benefit from having an OOC thread given the nature of our roleplay. As some folks know there's a fat 'disclaimer' I slapped at the top of the IC thread with rules and guidelines, but really that's not to be restrictive and is just to keep the plot consistent. I mean, I don't want a PC waltzin' in claiming to know everything about the setting and such. That would disrupt the premise!
That premise? Well, our PCs wake up in a ship with no idea how they got there, why they're there or who everyone else is. A number of NPCs and PCs are hostile but, for the latter, the setup is collaborative combat over competitive so still death disabled and such.
As the thread goes on, we'll learn more about what and where the ship is, who brought us there and how, what they want and who each other is for some good old character dynamics.
In part because players are starting out in different areas of the ship (though this isn't really mandatory), there is no posting order right now. If you miss out on posting then we can just summarize here what's going on as much as feasible!
I dropped the disclaimer from the IC thread below for reference:
*This thread takes place in a BFF-1 Bulk Freighter
*Currently unknown IC as to where the freighter is but suffice to say it's in the middle of nowhere
*Our characters wake up in stasis pods spread around the ship, as do NPCs
*Characters have nothing on their person when they wake up
*Waking up in separate locations from each other is encouraged
*Characters do not know how they got on the ship or who each other is (unless they've already met) but their memories are otherwise intact
*As the thread goes on, our characters will gradually discover what's going on (e.g. ship's name, location, how we got there, etc.)
*Creativity is encouraged!
I'm half-winging this as I go.
Feel free to find a weapon when you wake up or find one later, meet an NPC or two (maybe kill them), meet my character in your first post or later, have your pod open automatically, eat an egg, etc.
Have fun with it!
