Been brainstorming ideas for an arc that would involve multiple factions. After going through some ideas, and noting proposals/ideas by some others, I came up with a draft/proposal for an arc I'm tentatively dubbing Operation Aphelion. The arc will culminate in an assault on a ship bound for a Jedi or allied target, Shroud style (fly a ship into the target). The outcome of that assault would either determine if that target gets damaged or the ship is captured and used by the Jedi (who recently have OOCly begun the works to acquire a ship). It should be noted that the ship is NOT a Destroyer. I know plots don't require approval, per se, but due to the inclusion of the ship I felt I should run it through, plus to be transparent in where I'm aiming to drive the arc (Note: This would be an intended direction, but subject to adapting to the directions the threads go as driven by participants).

Objectives/threads:

1. Mission on Lothal (aka Assault on Sienar Advanced Projects Laboratory) - The Doctor has hired a team of bounty hunters to capture the on-the-run robotics expert Dr. Xavier Fields, who fled Felder Technologies with some sensitive data. The Doctor is pretending to be an agent of Felder Technologies. {Thread/sub-arc already underway}

2. (optional?) Interrogation/torture of Dr. Fields. Effectively to break him and make him work for the Sith Eternal. He is sought for his knowledge on battle droids, whose reprogramming will be needed later on.

3. Attack on CZ-082 - CZ-082 is an insignificant mini-shipyard owned by Czerka. It would be site to the ship that will be stolen; I'll be talking with @Catbert (organizer of Ship of the Jedi Guardians discussion) and the staff to determine what ship would be appropriate/acceptable for this plot. The Sith Eternal will attack the mini-shipyard and steal the ship, fighting some hired security or some visitor(s) on the asteroid. The thread would end with CZ-082 (which is practically a rogue asteroid) being destroyed; this is to justify why the Stolen Ship, if recovered/captured by the Jedi, isn't simply returned to the rightful owners. Any opposition that joins would be able to safely flee, of course.

4. Mission to Abandoned CIS Facility - The Sith Eternal would venture to some decrepit facility that was once used by the CIS. The team would include The Doctor because I am double-dipping here since I want to access the Fear Virus and use it for later fun. The primary purpose of this trip is to acquire some Separatist droids and the schematics in how to set up a droid-run ship (the operational standards used to man the Separatist Fleet). These droids would be used to man the Stolen Ship.

5. (Optional?) Retrofitting the Stolen Ship. Uncertain if a thread would be needed to set up this system on the Stolen Ship. Dr. Fields would be the one used to reprogram the acquired droids.

6. Debating if 6a would be the only finale thread, or if it would include 6b as well.

-6a. Battle of the Stolen Ship - Jedi/allies would detect the unmanned ship flying towards the Target. A strike team is sent to board the ship, finding it without any lifesigns (or maybe a very small Eternal team who would plan to bail when nearing the planet). The ship is crawling with droids, and a couple Sithspawn that would need to be defeated. If 6b. does not occur, the team would effectively aim to sabotage the ship so it can't fly anymore (but not far enough so it can be salvaged and repurposed later on). If 6b. does occur, the team would have similar objectives, but, as this thread would become more of a PvE, would eventually learn that the ship is being remotely controlled and cannot be disabled.

-6b. Battle of Nearby Eternal Outpost - If occurs, would serve as the PvP segment of the arc's finale. The team that boarded the Stolen Ship will trace the control signal to an unknown Sith Eternal outpost near the Target. A strike team would be sent to cripple the facility, with the Sith Eternal fighting to keep it running so the ship flies into the Target.

In essence, I tried to make the finale flow so that it doesn't automatically give the Jedi a free ship (even though they need one, and with the droids it circumvents the issue the Order has on not having the people needed to run such a ship). The Target hasn't been selected yet; with the more contrived nature of this arc, I'm hesitant to actually have it destroy an actual Jedi Temple, since 1) there's only 2 to my knowledge and 2) I don't think it would get approved to get such a high-level target handwaved.

Thoughts?

I like all this, it's a great idea, an incredible idea even. Though seriously this is very cool, hell I'm already involved since my character is one of the bounty hunters from the first thread haha. Probably have my jedi allied Matukai in at least one of the others as well. All in all looks great and getting hyped.

@Dmitri

You could use a slave circuit. It has rules in there about setting up a slace circuit, but it looks like you could do it in another thread without needing a thread of its own.

Also looks like it has some opportunity for slicer "pvp" to fight over the controls if the strike team is able to get onboard.

Good to know about the slave circuit; I'll read up on it.

Regarding the slicer PvP, definitely sounds interesting, though not sure how that'd work in practice.

@Dmitri, I'll be happy to provide opposition for you, alongside other Jedi. As for our ship, the voting has determined it'd be a CR90 Corvette (with some future retrofitting). In fact, @Charndley has already prepared a series of threads about its repair and acquisition. But it doesn't mean we'd refuse a chance to try and stop a Sith plot! It just means we won't be picky about the ship we face.

Since a Star Destroyer would definitely be too much, I'd suggest a derelict Nebulon-B frigate. It looks big and heavy enough to use for such an attack; it also has a crew requirement that justifies involving a droid specialist. But if a Nebulon-B is too big (though the threads you've outlined should be enough to acquire an old ship with some of its weapon systems offline), I'd suggest a Marauder corvette (also large crew requirement to justify droid involvement; but easier to acquire).

But that's only the ships I've gone through while looking for a ship for the Guardians. The Tech Digest might have something suitable: https://thestarwarsrp.com/index.php?threads/tech-heads-digest-issue-9-the-force-eternal.92717/
