Death Disabled

Admiral Drath'vusho'oare - Admiral Drath to his men - stood at attention as he received his orders. The holocall was secured and encrypted but it was proven genuine when Drath had ordered it run through decryption and other checks. With the connection secured, the Chiss Admiral of the Sith Empire stood at attention as the Sith Empress projected herself into his the command centre of his Resurgent-Class Star Destroyer, specifically emptied of personnel aside from himself for the purpose of this meeting.

"Admiral. I have forwarded you the co-ordinates for the world that will feel the weight of the Empire come crashing down onto it. It is time that we step forward and crush those who have enjoyed seeing us battle against our foes and grown fat from our leniency towards them."

The Admiral took a second to check the co-ordinates and nodded once, keeping his emotions in check and his voice mild but chilly.

"Corellia will burn because you will it, my Empress."

Even through the holocall, Drath could see the way the Sith Empress' eyes flashed a deeper shade of spiteful yellow.

"No Admiral - the entire ISC will burn because I will it. This is merely the first strike of many."

Corellia still held the scars from the recent attack by the Killiks, an impressive planet to be certain but one that was still reeling from the most recent of assaults against it. Some might say that to attack them now, at their weakest, was in itself a sign of weakness - but Drath knew that such people were not worthy of having their opinions considered. This was to be war between the Sith and the ISC and in war there was no such thing as honourable victors - there were only the victors and the defeated.

And the Sith would be the victors, as they always had been before when they marched to war.

His flagship, The Vakarian, shuddered ever so slightly as it emerged from hyperspace along with the rest of the fleet that he held under his command. Hundreds of thousands of Imperials, hundreds of Sith and ships forged in the beating heart of the Empire, all brought to bare against the Core-ward centre of the upstart nation of the ISC.

"Sir, the ISC defence fleet is hailing us - they're asking if we're lost."

Amusing and mildly annoying.

Amusing that they thought they could have simply wandered through New Republic space to arrive here by accident - and mildly annoying because the ISC forces present were not one of their defence fleets but rather one of their Independent Systems Consortium Core Taskforces - or ISCCTs. Very different force composition and he would have to remind his staff the value of keeping up to date on the forces of the enemy going forward. Instead of responding to his bridge officer, the Admiral took the hail personally.

"ISC Core Taskforce Fleet Admiral Jexon - this is Admiral Drath'vusho'oare of the Imperial Navy. We shall be assuming control of Corellia and its surroundings shortly and in perpetuity."

He paused as he gave the order and the fleet soared forward, weapons engaging.

"Your compliance is not a factor."

Drath cut the communication as the Sith fleet smashed into the hastily arrange defensive lines of the ISC ships, still caught almost completely off-guard by this sudden aggression by a faction that did not directly neighbour them in this area of space. They had likely prepared for the New Republic to grow a backbone and strike back at them for their embarrassing border incident - but they had not prepared for this.

"Talon Force is to advance to orbit and begin landing forces." he ordered calmly through the fleet-based communication line he always kept open, even as he stood at attention in the centre of the bridge, "All forces are to advance and engage. Civilian casualties are expected and acceptable - we shall conquer this planet. For the Empire."

The call came throughout the bridge and across numerous other ships.

"For the Empire!"

The Sith fleet broke into two groups, Talon Force and Iron Force. Talon Force broke off from the rest, moving to take up positions in orbit, the capital ships blasting at space-based defences and shipyards even as their hanger bays opened and literally hundreds of AAL-1971/9.1 Troop Transports flew down to the planet, accompanied by hundreds of Aquilae-Class assault starfighters to act as escort and air support.

Within a few moments, the first load of Imperials and Sith would be free to seize the capital for the Empire. As the ramps came down on the troop transports, Imperial troopers marched out onto the streets, opening fire on law enforcement and the beginnings of an ISC army defence. With the capital building in sight of the landing zone, the Imperials and the Sith would have a straight shot forward to seize the cultural and symbolic heart of the planet.

As part of the first batch of troopers to reach the surface of the planet Anai came out of her troop transport, clad in her usual armor and leading soldiers into the streets of the planet. She knew that many Imperials would not agree with what the empress had just planned, the galaxy had thought for a while that it was true that the sith wouldn't strike against them if they were nice and stayed out of the fray, that they wouldn't care about their governments getting stronger to the point were they would be able to match them, but they were wrong. The ISC had gotten too big and needed to learn its place, the empress had decreed that.

Anai didn't even wonder for a second if taking part of the invasion was the right course of action, she just jumped in without hesitation because. The reason behind this was that even if she had joined the fray as the Kaleesh champion, she was still a member of the inquisition, Anai owed absolute devotion to the dark lord and the empress and therefore would put her life on the line to make sure Corellia fell to the Empire. It reminded her of simpler days, back when she was too young to fight, she didn't get to help her people against a rival tribe back on Kalee when she was a child, but she would do her best now, the sith had given her a purpose and she would see it through.

Ramage's icey blue eyes gleamed with pure excitement and bloodlust as he wanted carnage. Iron Force, destroying the ISC fleet, oh this sounded like a dream. The Night Veil herself wished for nothing more than blood. She hungered to wreak havoc on another ship, one of the line instead of just pirates and raiders. The assault on the Jedi was the closest she had experienced to a major battle in quite a while, which had led to her and the crew feeling somewhat bored. Going through the motions with no major challenge.

This order was the single biggest thing to happen to this ship in a long time, arguably since Ramage's promotion to her helm or the assault on that Onager, though it did flee soon after it arrived so Ramage did not earn a kill that day. What a shame too, with the small task force that he summoned he was making good progress. Either way, the crews had trained for this and were ready. This was different than fighting the Jedi, or the New Republic, or the Alliance, or anyone else. The ISC actually had a military that seemed even close to the Empire's which would obviously be crushed under the Imperial boot heel. It was time... for a speech to his crew.

"My crew, my brothers and sisters in arms, my fellow Imperials... today we stand at the crossroads of history. We are staring down a path to total annihilation for our enemies or ourselves. We cannot loose this battle, this is the key to show who is the strongest in the galaxy." He leaned back from the microphone and took a breath, before leaning back in. "We will show that our will is our weapon, and we shall cut these puny beings' with it. We will show that the Night Veil is the tip of the spear. For the Empire! For the Empress! For the Warmaster!"

The Night Veil sat near the front of the pack, with her weaponry and shielding live and ready. They awaited with the rest of the fleet before the order was given and their reins were dropped. They dove downwards at a 45 degree slant, angling their seven quad light turbolaser turrets into lighter capital ships within range, while the rest of their laser cannons began to work on any fighter escorts.

Wodan was as surprised as many others when the attack on the ISC was declared. Though he couldn’t deny it brought him relief and a little joy, it seems Empress Anaris was finally pointing them in a single direction. First Yavin now Corellia, the Empire was on the advance, only the dithering of fellow Sith could stop them now.

The Lights within the AAL, were dimmed, allowing the occupant’s eyes to adjust to the twilight sky of Corellia’s capital city. Around him stood over a dozen of the Imperials’ Elite Shock Troops, their task to assault the Corellian Government building, secure their elected leaders and force them into surrendering to the Sith Empire. He wore a basic set of Senshi-Combat Armour, his lightsaber grasped in his right hand, a pair of PL-50 Stun Gas Grenades and a single Ion Grenade clipped to his belt. A yellow light signalled they were about to land, a hard thump followed by a green light as the loading ramp descended signalled they were at their destination.

The soldiers poured out of Wodan’s transport along with another four around him, they spread out with machine-like efficiency. The Anti-Personal Blaster on the ships tore into the government building ahead of them, as Wodan was the last to exit, making for the stairs into the building.

The Consortium had prepared for this very day to come. Despite their long-held neutrality, the possibility of Sith Invasion had never been ruled out by members of the ISC leadership - and detailed contingency plans had been established in the event of planetary invasion. They would not be caught blind - and if the invasing Imperial force believed their conquest of Corellia was assured, they were bound to be sorely mistaken.

Beyond planets like Naboo and Christophsis, Corellia was amongst the most heavily defended planets within the Consortium. Both due to its strategic importance, and the recent Kilik invasion force. For precisely the reasons the Empire had targeted the planet, did the Consortium bolster forces on the ground and nearby fleet.

Just as Sith and Imperials began to land outside Coronet City, they would come face-to-face with ISC forces assembled to battle against them. A full platoon of the ISC army rolled forward and onto the field - headed by a multitude of D3X-0S Class Super Combat Droid’s that towered over other droids and organics alike. The Super Combat Droids were supplemented with two dozen organic specialists - composed of snipers, launcher support and standard infantrymen. Towards the back of the platoon were an additional four IG-3001 "Spitfire" Spider Droid - providing artillery support and anti-air suppressing for the ISC army.

Bringing up the rear in an XR-85 tANK, Major General Vera Belari stood with rigid posture - narrowed eyes sweeping the field of combat. A cigarra was pinched between her lips, smoking wisping past her face as the tank rolled forward. She didn’t even wince as the Imperial ships tore into the government building, her jaw set into a firm line.

“Bring them down.” She said icily. Within moments, the four Spitfire Droid’s turned their attention to the ship that Wodan had brought with him - alongside the four others in supporting. Targeting computer took only a moment to lock on, before unleashing their payload of AG-2G Quad lasers onto their target. The stationary landing vessels would be largely sitting ducks against the artillery - alongside any additional troops that attempted to land.

“Engage and cut off their advance,” She barked, flicking off the tip of her cigarra with eyes narrowing upon Wodan. Within moments, half of her Organic troopers and a trio of Super Combat Droids began to approach the Firrerreo and his squadron - intent upon cutting off their advance into the government building. "Make them bleed for every inch of ground."

When Fee's dad suggested that she come with him to the capital building that day, she could never expect what happened.

Fee's dad had a presentation to give to some members of the administration, Fee couldn't remember which. Something about local planning permission, or traffic bylaws. Asking her to come along was his awkward way of getting her out of the workshop. That, and he'd need her to set up the presentation. While she was doing that, the conversation around the building turned quiet. Then surprised. Then, there was a lot of shouting.

Fee moved out to the atrium to see what was happening, peering over the balcony from a higher floor. All around her, the normal business of government had stopped. Ashen-faced civil servants stopped and stared at the screens, showing grainy images of the fleet above them. The Empire had come. Already, panic began to spread among the people.

"The army... where is the army?"
"But we aren't at war with the Sith..."
"They're coming, they're coming and we need to get out!"

An icy fear gripped Fee's chest as she looked around, hoping for some kind of direction. Hoping that she could find her dad before things went bad. Security guards entered the atrium, trying to quell the panic. One of them started shouting, ordering everyone to gather for evacuation. Fee started to descend the stairs, clutching onto her bag, looking around to see any sight of her dad...

The world exploded in front of her. The blast threw her off the stairs in a storm of glass and stone. Bursts of blaster fire carved through the building. Fee fell and smacked into a waiting couch, somewhat cushioned by the fabric. By the time her vision unblurred, the atrium was on fire. An alarm echoed from deeper within the building. Blood ran from a mess of minor cuts on her face and everything ached with bruises. She was lucky, the others in there had been right in the line of blaster fire.

She'd never seen a dead body before. Now she could see several. Clutching at herself, Fee managed to stand herself up. She needed to get out of there. She needed to get to safety. She needed...

Oh. Oh flick. Dad!

In Orbit

Fleet Admiral Jexon gripped the controls in front of him tightly as he eyed the holocall screen as it ended. Scowling, he stepped away from the controls as the Sith fleet began to move in to engage with his own forces. He had a Peace Time fleet - this was not up to scratch against such a Sith fleet and he knew it. Their lower class of capital ships (corvettes) outnumbered their enemies like-for-like but they lacked the heavier armour that would allow them to properly counter the heavier ships. The Star Destroyers were an issue and he couldn't counter them.

"Form up wolfpacks!" he commanded, giving pre-set orders they'd drilled, "Form up shield wall!"

More pre-set orders, drilled into the crews of every ISC ship from the day they were pressed into service. The "Shield Wall" formation involved the six Lucrehulk battleships to move up to the front, forming a protective and well-armed forward defensive line, with the Cal-Class Battleships and TE-1s & 2s threaded and positioned between them to fire between the gaps in the shield wall.

"Shields to maximum, Lucrehulks! All ships - Deploy all wings!"

Thousands of fighters and bombers were released from their hangers, swarming ahead of their motherships to smash into the advancing enemy numbers.

"Bombers - run on the Victorys!"

Bomber wings formed and flew ahead to start their attack runs on the older class of cruisers that the Empire had brought out for the battle.

The wolfpacks were made up of the smaller ships, the small frigates and the corvettes, grouping together to hit above their weight class and act as one. Specifically, six wolfpacks were formed with 10 Hammerhead Frigates, 15 Corellian Gunship Frigates, 15 Sphyrna-Class Frigates and 20 CR90 Corvettes each. The wolfpacks swarmed around the shield wall of heavier ships, flowing over and around it like water around a stone in the path of a river, with the faster CR90s leading the charge as they began their first of many hit-and-run assaults.

One such wolfpack was heading straight for the vanguard with @Caduceus Ramage and his ship at the front, the CR90s leading the way taking hits against their shields from his ship's turbolaser as ten of the fast Corellian ships opened fire with their own dual medium turbolaser turrets. As the Pugio Frigate was tilted to better fire, it was also tilted to present a lot more surface area compared to the direct assault profile of the CR90s as they dove forward.

"Axes Fall, now!"

The Axehead Assault Frigates broke away, heading directly down to the planet's atmosphere as their hangers prepared to drop. All of the SS-54s from the rest of the fleet broke off from their own motherships, taking withering fire from Talon Force as they broke for the atmosphere to act as close air support and land much needed troops and armour. Unbeknownst to the Imperials, "Axes Fall" was a command not just for the Axehead Assault Frigates to head to the planet - as the order was received, the escape pods of everything not in a wolfpack were launched toward the planet.

The Fleet Admiral tightened his grip on his station.

Every ship above the weight-class of a frigate was now flying with their minimal crew as every crew member that could point a rifle in the right direction had been sent down to Corellia's surface with every scrap of food and medical supplies they could handle. This might very well be what ensured his death but he would face it with pride, knowing that he had given the people of Corellia every scrap he could spare while the rest of the ISC mobilized to reinforce them.

He might even last long enough to see it.

Arhea straightened up with a drawn out sigh and a swipe of her brow with the back of her forearm. A loud clatter of meta followed as she tossed a tool back into her case. Tarkunda that had been a lot of work. These people really should perform preventative maintenance more frequently. Well, not like they were falling to pieces, but the insides were filthy.

As the Tief bent over to pick up her kit, the sound of boots on the ground filled the air. Along with a shout for her to clear the platform. Arhea gave them a withering look before she began to saunter off with a shrug. That was gratitude for you. Probably another military exercise-drill where they tested their response time or something. Well they should find that defense platform in the best condition it's been since it was installed! Maybe better, if a Tief could say so herself.

She got forty paces before being thrown to the ground.

Several moments later the dark gray woman stirred. She became aware her tool kit was missing first with her fingers free of its handle. Then that she was laying down face-first. And then that she felt an ache through the length of her body and even her tail. Slowly, Arhea gathered her legs under her as she pushed up off the ground with both hands. A few blinks helped clear her cherry blossom eyes of specks of dirt and a little double-vision from whatever had happened.

She turned to look back the way she'd come to find the battlement had been destroyed with a solid chunk of the wall where it'd stood missing as well.

So much for an exercise.

If a bunch of defenders hadn't been killed, Arhea would have been extremely cross at her hard work being erased just like that. Priorities, however, dictated that moment wasn't time for such outrage. In fact, her eyes turned toward the sky to try and gauge just how messed up the situation had become.

Turns out, it was pretty messed up.

The Tiefling started to walk and then jog down the walkway. Her fingers danced over a control pad to tap in to local channels to listen in on reports. From what she could tell, the Sith had arrived and were adamant they now owned the entire planet -- and its system. Which spelled a lot of trouble for people on said planet.

Should she try to find a strong defense turret to help out? Find a way to one of the orbiting ships? Or acquire transport away, maybe with a few others hoping to escape getting blasted? Arhea kept an ear and both eyes open for signs which way she should go as she held a steady pace.

The lumbering Orcolan had been on Corellia for weeks now, staying out of trouble but helping every which way he could in the aftermath of the Killik attack. The humanitarian assistance and the hard labor were all talents that he was more than willing to lend in the spirit of things.

That all changed when he began to hear the telltale sounds of battle erupting in the distance. On instinct, he rapidly moved toward the dangerous commotion, in a short time found himself having to push threw crowds of civilians fleeing the oncoming onslaught. With some perseverance and luck, he managed to get through and find a small section of ISC troopers forming up to defend a city block against whatever it was the Sith would send their way.

Equipped with only his trusty lightsaber, dark brown cloak, and keen eyes, he spotted a group of hostiles approach (@Versok), and the groups of soldiers on both sides began to engage each other. Lightsaber hilt in his right hand, he ignited the green blade and stood defensively eyeing his mark while coiling the force around him.

The Kaleesh champion kept moving forward, leading a squad of soldiers on her own while Wodan was taking the main route, but it wouldn't take long for her to find a conflict on her own. The sight of a green lightsaber blade marching alongside the ISC soldiers that she would need to confront was unexpected, but not unsurprising "You and me, jedi." She would call out, letting the soldiers engage properly while she took care of what was the bigger threat, blaster fire and grenades being thrown by both sides.

It had been quite a while since the last time she had confronted a jedi on Ithor, that fight ended on a stalemate, but this one would not be the same, for better or worse: It was all or nothing. Anai would call for the force herself and, in a moment, she would launch a bit of debris towards the unarmored Orcolan; small, but sharp little projectiles aiming to give him death by a thousand cuts with the small added bonus of bringing dust alongside it that could blind the jedi, if only momentarily. This was just the opening attack, of course, Anai would be advancing towards him as she did that, going from cover to cover in order to confront him as she wouldn't be surprised if the soldiers would take aim at her, which would be fine as that meant her own ones would have some breathing room to advance and shoot back too.

As the troopers spread out taking cover behind broken pieces of debris, speeders and the like as the ISC troops appeared on the battlefield. Once the troops were clear of the boarding ramps, each of the five transport’s two Tread-Speeders launched out of the hull. Just in time as the Spitfire droids turned to unleash their fire upon the shuttles. The lead pair of ships were torn apart, the pilot and gunner dying within seconds as the blaster fire ripped through the ship. Another sped up its engines ready to take off but didn’t even have time to raise its ramp. The fourth reached an extreme height of two metres before it too became riddled with holes. The final was able to get a little speed as it took off but the rain of fire ripped through its thrusters sending it crashing into a nearby building showering the battlefield with light debris.

Wodan quickly dived into cover as the ISC began their advance on their position. Tapping the side of his helmet to activate his comm he began issuing orders. “R-1, R-2, R-3 advance along the edge of the battlefield, you are to engage the spider tanks. S-2, S-3 You are to advance along the Eastern side, S-1, S-4 you are with me. R-4 you are to support my position from range using your speed.” “Yes, Mi’lord.” Was the near instantaneous reply from the squadron commanders.

The three pairs of Speederbikes would skirt the Western side of the battlefield spreading out as they navigated the debris and city streets, laying down cover with their blaster cannons as they quickly approached the spider droids. Two infantry squads would begin moving up along the opposite side, looking to gain a firmer footing in the area and provide cover for Wodan and his troops in the centre.

Tapping his helmet again to open up a local comm Wodan began. “S-1, you push right, S-4, you are on the left. Keep suppressing fires when you move. Those droids will be a pain, so look to flank either side of them, remove the organic support then we need to try the good ol ‘roll a nade’ trick to get past their shields.” “Yes, Mi’lord.” The two infantry squadrons with Wodan would begin to advance, moving into a reverse crescent shape with Wodan at the bottom and the ISC troops in the middle.

4x 18 Man Squads of Imperial Assault Corps
4x 2 Vehicle Squads of Treadspeeder Bikes

Anai has of each Squad in support as well.

"Greetings, this is the Pugio Night Veil,'s Lieutenant Caduceus Ramage," Ramage began, to his message to the detachment he was with, "we are going to dive. I request a third of you join me, as we shall be pulling them into a psudeo flank. We shall assault them from below and from above, putting them into a crossfire and ripping into their bellies. If you join us, we can easily cleave this force apart, all we require is more guns. For the Empress, for the Empire!" He then turned and motioned to cut the mic before turning forward again in his captain's chair.

The Night Veil and the rest of the detachment she was assigned (consisting of mostly frigates, corvettes, and some smaller cruisers of various models), atleast Ramaged hoped they would, dived low under it's oncoming foes. It began laying into the opponents before going engines to full, dropping down bellow the opposing naval power and targeting one of the smaller Corellian Corvettes with majority of its turbolasers, a few of the others taking shots at the Gunships. The smaller laser cannons were taking shots of opportunity, firing at anything from the capital craft to the smallest snub fighter. Whatever they could hit they would try and destroy.

That was all before the torpedo crew's began to work. Proton torpedos began to be spat out from the larger craft in pairs, moving towards those Corellian Gunships to find and exploit weakpoints. The shields began to get battered by the oncoming capital shop wave, yet they still stood strong in the face of their advisories. They absorbed each bolt valiantly as the screens were ever so slightly rotated for a more upwards angle, as that's where the shots would he coming from.

Major General Belari exhaled through her nostrils, watching the scene of battle unfold. Her jaw set into a firm line with every wayward blaster bolt and concussion of artillery fire, watching as it tore into nearby buildings as collateral damage. Such was the price of warfare - and she knew that the longer the Imperials were allowed to hold their ground, the more damage Coronet City would endure.

Her hands folded neatly against the small of her back, posture straight and rigid as a board. “Squadrons one and two - focus fire upon incoming Speederbikes moving upon our artillery.” The General barked. The half of her organic troopers - roughly twenty-two men equipped with rifles - began to fire upon the three pairs of Speederbikes approaching the Spider Tanks - attempting to pick off the mounted units one by one.

“Artillery Units four and three - focus Hailfire to the East.” Within moments, the Droid units responded to the command. With no other aerial targets to engage, two of the Spider Tanks turned to face the troopers approaching from the East - targeting computers engaging in an attempt to lock onto the bulk of the thirty-six Imperials. After only few seconds, both spider tanks unleashed their Hailfire payload - a volley of twenty-four guided missiles in grand total, streaking through the air and towards the Imperial troopers. They would be hard pressed to avoid the incoming artillery fire without any mobility advantage. The missiles tore through duracrete and most everything else in their path, demonstrating just how deadly the Spider Tanks had the potential to be.

All the while, the Major General kept her gaze locked ahead - focusing upon the Sith and his personal squadron. She didn’t miss the arrival of the Jedi, and would use that to her advantage - allowing her to neglect focusing on the Kaleesh Sith, for the time being.

“S.C.D Unit’s X-14 and X-15 - move forward to engage.” At her command, an additional two Super Combat Droids began to lumber forward and approach Wodan and his squadron. The General had held the bulk of her droids in reserve, depending upon what Anai did, but her preoccupied state had changed things. It would take from a few moments to reach the other trio of droids and organic troopers, but Wodan would undoubtedly see them lumbering forward - shield generators engaged.

Her eyes narrowed upon the reverse crescent formation. It would clear they meant to flank the Super Combat Droids - exploiting their primary weakness in close quarters. As they attempted to close the distance, however, they would quickly come face-to-face with the primary offensive capabilities of the droids. Each armed with two dual medium repeater cannons, the Super Combat Droids began unleashing a devastating hail of cannonfire into the approaching troopers - intent upon ripping holes through their formation and sending them scattering in all directions. Any suppressive focused upon the Droids would bounce right off their shield generators, leaving the droids themselves untouched.

“Squadrons three and four - provide supplemental fire to S.C.D units.” The Organic troopers faired markedly worse against the hail of Imperial fire - forced to take cover or get picked off by the approaching troopers. Many amongst them deliberately ducked behind the advancing S.C.D units, using the deflector shields generated by the droids as cover.

“S.C.D Unit 1, focus all fire upon the Sith.” The third S.C.D turned his attention to Wodan in particular - Photoreceptor’s locking onto him with their crimson glow. Without any additional warning, the Super Combat Droid lifted its right arm - unleashing a blast from its heavy blaster cannon, intent upon annihilating the Sith Champion. The Major General understood just how much of a threat a single Sith on the field was, and wanted to take them out of commission as quickly as possible.

Beefy post, so figured I would break down everything happening.

-22x Organic Troopers begin firing on the six speederbikes approaching from the West/attempting to get close to the Spider Tanks.

-2x of the Spider Tanks turn to focus on the thirty-six Imperial Troopers approaching from the East, using their Hailfire missile in an attempt to rip them to shreds.

-2x of the Super Combat Droids engage their shields and begin firing on Wodan's men with their 2x Dual Medium Repeater Blasters. Organic troopers provide some return fire/attempt to take cover behind the Super Combat Droids deflector shields. Minor casualties (-5 organic troopers.)

-1x Super Combat Droids targets Wodan individually, attempting to use its Heavy Blaster Cannon on him.

-2x additional Super Combat Droids begin to advance forward towards Wodan and his troopers. Will take them 2 rounds to engage.

In Orbit - Sith

Admiral Drath allowed himself a small smile.

His opposite number, Fleet Admiral Jexon, was not terrible at his job and he had drilled his crews extensively. It seemed to him that the ISC officer had done well with local resources but he hadn't been given the latest and greatest ISC technology and this would be his downfall - because Drath had the might of the Sith war machine at his beck and call. With his current fleet set up, he was confident that nothing would actually stop him from breaking through.

"Admiral, Lieutenant Ramage requests operational control of her section of the picket line."

Drath paused for a second before nodding once. She was overreaching her command by some margin but he was not one to shoot someone for showing initiative; he'd shoot her if she failed after overreaching. If she was successful then she earned it.

"She can have her section."

Ramage's Section of the picket line would be six Pugio's (including her own), twelve Lancers, six Raider-III, six Yuso, four Raiders and four Bolo corvettes. The harder spine of the section was, the hardened core of Ramage's new 'command', was a trio of Gladiator Star Destroyers. They would begin to dive at her command, opening fire in tandem with her.

Away from the picket lines, Drath had his opposite holding in a defensive pattern, holding their ground in a rather static pattern. But when you had the more effective weapons, defences just meant targets. He didn't even need to verbalise his command, he merely nodded and his officers began to move to carry out his standard patterns.

His opponent was not the only one who could drill his crew.

His heavier ships pushed forward, opening fire on the Lucrehulks and peppering their shields with heavy fire. As they were engaged, two of his Onagers moved, one moving high above the rest of his Star Destroyers and the other moving below - they both began to power up their main weapons but he deliberately focused one of them ahead of the others. He was more than willing to use it as a distraction and draw fire - the other would open fire on one of the central Lucrehulks in the defensive line. As soon as the line was opened, the Pilum heavy cruisers would launch a massive barrage of missiles into the breach at the hiding destroyers.

"Liberty and Imperialism for all."

At the command, the Liberty Star Cruisers and the Imperial-II Star Destroyers would push forward, aiming to push straight through the newly created hole in the ISC formation.

In Orbit - ISC

Admiral Jexon stared at the screen before him as the Sith fleet hammered away at the shield wall he had erected using the largest of his ships. They were armoured, their shields were strong and they had dozens of heavy weapons - but at the end of the day they were battleships mainly because of their sheer size. Upscaled from their massive freighter roots as they were, they would not be able to stand toe-to-toe with a Star Destroyer of the modern era and it was beginning to show.

He eyed the readings from the shields of the shield ships even as the other ships used their bulk to avoid taking damage themselves. Was it ideal? No. But the destroyers and cruisers had a mean punch to them that could overwhelm the shields of the Star Destroyers and he needed them to be able to take those shots - best way they could focus on doing that was if the major capital ships of the enemy fleet were not focused entirely on them.

"Sir! Onagers designated Alpha and Beta are moving up!"

Spotting the ships in question, he quickly selected the majority of the TE-1s and TE-2s and issued the orders.

"Target Onager Alpha for effect - then move to Onager Beta."

The Onagers were less ships than they were semi-portable superweapons and they needed to make sure that they didn't get the chance to actually open fire with their main weapons. Onager Alpha would find itself faltering under a withering display of firepower that broke down it's shielding before it began to break apart, the power to the main gun draining as it did so.

"Sir Beta is firing!"

Cursing, the Admiral could only watch as Onager Beta fired it's main weapon, lancing through the central area of one of his Luckrehulk battleships in the shield wall. As the ship began to break apart, the destroyers that had been sheltering behind it would be open to fire from the other Imperial ships even as they frantically returned fire. The missile barrage pounded several TE-1s and TE-2s into scrap as the heavier ships advanced.

Thankfully he didn't need to micromanage the wolfpacks as their captains were given more freedom to make their own movements.

As Caduceus was making his pitch for the other captains of the surrounding ships to give control of their positioning to him, the wolfpack was advancing. As Caduceus was beginning to dive, the wolfpack was firing, laying into their shields as they presented their largest surface area in their movement. Caduceus would find their own shields taking a heavy beating as the leader of the pack, gaining the majority of the fire from almost twenty CR-90 corvettes.

The corvettes were not able to bring all of their weapons to bear however as two of them were waylaid by the incoming fire, one of them needing to veer off course to avoid having it's hull pierced once its shields fell - and the other ending in a bright flash of light as it was targeted for direct assault. In the mean time, the CR-90s of the wolfpack peeled off to the sides, powering away from the centre to begin a downward loop, to coming back around from the sides of the Imperial detachment.

Other members of the wolfpack, less flexible than the CR-90s, didn't peel away but they did do what they could to counter the assault - half of the remaining vessels angled downward, diving to meet the Imperials, their angles of descent meaning they would be approaching each other at speed as they blasted at each other. The other half of the remaining wolfpack members climbed before they began to dive, allowing them to begin an approach from 'atop' Caduceus' ship and her detachment members.

Rahman watched closely as the smaller Kaleesh warrior came closer into view and issued her challenge. He trusted that the ISC soldiers would do their duty and fight their respective opponents, leaving the main battle between himself and the Sith. It was therefore imperative that he send her quickly back where she came from, as he suspected the invading troopers would shortly follow behind her and away from their targets.

The sudden gust of air blown his way wasn't a particularly nice trick, moving his free arm up to cover his face, but sadly leaving his unarmoured body to take some damage as the particles scraped and cut drawing first blood for the Sith.

"Leave this world, you have no right to this land. I do not wish to hurt you but I will protect them from you." he scowled. Explosions went off around them as grenades and other such devices went off sending debris into the street signaling the fighting was getting underway.

Walking steadily towards her he held his lightsaber in his right hand before him at a forty-five-degree angle.

During this approach, he called upon the force to telekinetically pull a small piece of the broken metal door towards Anai's left side of her chest timed to be in her vicinity as his blade came down upon her. If struck, the object would possibly wind or stagger her during their fight.

As she weaved between covers he closed the distance until they were in striking range, making his first attack at her chest height, her left to right in a downward swing meant to try and destroy her lightsaber hilt and end the fight immediately. If she moved or otherwise avoided his attack, he would aim to block her blade with his own as best he could.

Her eyes stayed fixed on the Orcolan as he said his piece, talking like she expected a jedi to do "No." She would simply say in response. She did understand that jedi were a pacifist group in theory, but she just wondered if telling a sith to just leave had ever worked. Probably not, it was just a way to cope with the fact that they sometimes had to kill their enemies, telling themselves that they had given them a chance.

She could feel how the Orcolan used the force to pull a piece of the door towards her, timed to hit towards the start of the conflict and once they started striking at each other, but Anai would take advantage of one little thing: The man had used the force to give it momentum, but he had not kept control of the door piece, so Anai would use the force to slightly alter the course of the metal projectile to instead hit the jedi on his right side as the blade would come down upon her, aiming for his right side.

This would mean that Anai would have to block his strike with only on e hand grabbing her lightsaber as she had been busy directing the door piece, but this would be offset by the fact that the door piece would be the second attack to hit the man and leave him staggered.

Rahman's blade would meet Anai's as she guarded his strike with her blade, Anai's blade would be pointing upwards and to the left before quickly moving it to the right, parrying it towards her right side as she moved to her left. With this she made sure the blade would not hit her hilt, but she would also move to the left, combining her movement with the deflection of the blade to ensure she would not be in the way of the Orcolan's lightsaber, which would be easy considering how he had aimed for little more than her hilt and therefore was quite a short strike.

As she moved to the left however, she was also moving closer to Rahman, getting inside his guard. Her lightsaber would go for a quick horizontal slash aimed at his exposed right side, aiming to slash through his chest.

From her perch, Major General Belari watched the scene that unfolded across the field - resisting the urge to smirk. For the first time, the ISC had an opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of their armed forces against a rival Galactic Power - and prove themselves more than capable of sending the Empire running with its tail between their legs. If Empress Anaris’ believed she would find easy conquest on Corellia, Belari imagined the woman was fuming from her seat on Serenno by now.

S.C.D Unit 1 focused its attention strictly onto Wodan - watching as the Sith began to close the distance. The Blackwell-made droid was top of the line technology - and had been designed with the unnatural speed and agility of Force Users in mind. Thus, it didn’t take long for the Droid to recalibrate its attack - cannon-arm tilting ever-so-slightly downward. With a dull hum, the heavy blaster cannon fired, unleashing a blinding white blast of plasma directly in front of Wodan and into the ground.

The sheer force of the blast was enough to rip through duracrete and the earth below - creating a shockwave that would send the Firrerreo barreling backwards and away from the scene of combat, enveloped by the nova of molten plasma. The radiant heat and strength of the blast was enough to tear through any armor that Wodan wore and severely burn his torso and lower body, and it was only by virtue of that layer of protection that the Firrerreo wasn’t cooked down to his bones. Shards of melted rock and duracrete petted the Sith, cutting across his face and left eye was he was thrown away from the battle.

Meanwhile, Wodan’s troopers would find themselves unable to adequately respond to the sheer firepower of the ISC army.

To the East, the Hailfire Missles tore through the air and collided into the center of the Imperial formation - erupting in an explosive plume of fire, duracrete and chunks of the slain. Some were killed outright from the initial impact, while others attempted to crawl and hobble their way to cover - wailing in agony from legs or other limbs that had been blown off by the rain of explosives. Out of the thirty-six men that had attempted to find higher ground, only half were unharmed by the blast.

To the West, the approaching Speederbikes would meet harsh resistance in the form of ISC Snipers and Specialists. Streaks of blue plasma zipped across the battlefield, attempting to force the approaching bikes into defensive maneuvers, even if they couldn’t pick them off effectively. Out of the six bikes that approached, two were picked off by ISC snipers - while the others were forced to veer wide in an attempt to avoid fire. The ISC forces suffered some damaged, though - as fire from one of the Speeder bikes was enough to bring down a single Spider Tank.

In the center of the battlefield, Imperial Troopers were quickly learning how deadly the S.C.D Units could be. Despite having a numerical advantage, the shield deflectors of the Super Combat Droids rendered nullified any blaster bolt that was aimed in their direction - all while their own repeater blasters tore through Imperial Ranks. One by one, Imperial Troopers were cut through by the volley of blaster bolts - causing most of them to break off or attempt to find cover, rather than continue their approach. Only half of Wodan’s original squadron remained.

The two additional S.C.D Unit’s continued their approach, fanning out wide to flank the remaining Imperial Troopers. Unless they rapidly changed tactics or began to retreat, the combined firepower of the five droids would be more than enough to mow down the remaining troopers.

Beefy post, so figured I would break down everything happening. Autohit applies

Due to Autohit, Wodan is KO'd and sent sailing backwards by the blaster cannon of the Super Combat Droid - suffering severe burns to his torso and lower body, alongside cuts to his face and left eye.

-Imperial troopers being targetted by the Hailfire Missles was decimated as they are unable to respond in time, causing them to scatter and cutting their manpower in half.

-The Speeder Bikes to the West fair slightly better - losing 2 men to the ISC snipers, but managing to bring down one of the ISC Spider Tanks.

-With Wodan removed from the fight, the combined firepower of the Super Combat Droids focuses on his remaining troopers, cutting their numbers in half. The additional two Super Combat Droids move in an attempt to flank the remaining Imperials, and will arrive next posting round.

This Sith was equally as devoid of originality by using his own attack against him he thought, as she was of being conversational it appeared. While his force attack served its purpose of distraction, Anai quite capably added her own twist to the maneuver and pulled into striking Rahman.

As she blocked his attack with a parry, he felt the door piece smack into his right flank. The impact was short and sweet but the pain trailed up his body causing an involuntary grunt to escape his lips. As he staggered to prepare his stance as she moved closer, it was relatively easy for him to rotate his blade vertically and bring the hand to his right to block her horizontal swing, as the lightsaber was in his right hand.

Pressing back into her stance with his blade to pin her in place for a moment, he rotated around to face her and swung his hefty left fist around and aimed for her throat in the hopes of stunning her with shock. The pain would be intense if it landed, and would perhaps give him time to disarm her without causing any lasting damage.

In Orbit - ISC

As Caduceus and the picket dove in formation, the CR-90 corvettes continued to fire, a punishing barrage of medium turbolaser fire crashing against the shields unabated. The top-side shield flickered and failed, bolts impacting armor and blasting breaches through the frigate's hull. Five of the Night Veil's quad light turbolaser turrets were lost to incoming fire. Alarms would sound as fires started, ammunition detonated in secondary explosions, decks were abruptly vented to space, and systems began to fail.

Cadaceus' forces had all set engines to full, simultaneously limiting maneuverability and introducing an imbalance of speed and acceleration in their naval formation. This left the speedy Raiders and Yuso sprinting ahead of the pack, the Gladiators lagging behind, and the other ships other than the Night Veil somewhere in the middle. Their formation was falling apart, still with Night Veil in the lead.

And all still diving. Unsupported by heavier craft, the six frontward Raiders, six Yuso, and the Night Veil were targeted by five Hammerheads, seven Sphyrna frigates, and seven Corellian Gunships with a full spread. Turbolasers, laser bolts, and a salvo of target-tracking heavy concussion missiles roared toward them. And if they somehow avoided the barrage, slower ships behind would take the hits instead.

Coming in from directly above now, the other half of the wolfpack consisted of the other five Hammerheads, eight Sphyrna, and eight Corellian Gunships. They cut straight down, unleashing all forward-capable guns and a full salvo of heavy concussion missiles down upon the lagging Gladiators like the hammer of vengeful Corellian gods. Flanking the sides in loops, both groups of 9 CR-90 corvettes moved in a classic cavalry encirclement. They targeted the Gladiators' hangar bays, keeping their so-far unreleased squadrons suppressed and hammering their side shields.

All ten Hammerheads released their squadrons, each consisting of eight
TE-34 starfighters and four Y-wing bombers. The five squadrons belonging to the group targeting the Night Veil and Imperial corvettes remained in cover near their parent ships. The five squadrons unleashed from the down-cutting group attacking the Gladiators began a bombing run approach in a wide-spread formation to avoid return fire from the capital ship, flying in from the rear flank. Without the anti-fighter corvettes or squadrons in position to protect them and with the Gladiator's armament poorly suited to targeting small craft, they were wide open for bridge-crippling bombing runs.

Now encircled, attacked heavily from several directions, out of effective formation, and without coherent orders, the greatest blow would likely be to the Imperials' morale.

OOC: Autohits to the Night Veil from time out, was targeted by the majority of CR-90 corvettes.
