Outer Rim Fleet Academy

DESCRIPTION
The Academy is located in an older space station design. The station is located somewhere in the vicinity of Teth and moved in an orbit around one of the stars in the same system. The Academy was formed by a few key and unknown investors paired with Mae Tecono. She had a vision of a brighter future for many who had little and had the guts to make a better life for themselves.

The academy is expensive, but in a way to lure and secure future crew for various ships of the syndicates. The tuition and living expenses are tied together into a 1000 credits per semester package. However, the package is paid for if you sign up for a 3 year contract to be served as soon as your training is completed. An applicant will have everything paid for while both in school and during their contract duration. So joining can be very easy.

The station has eight wings around its central core. Each wing is represented by a different branch and week of training. Once a class has completed a branch, they transfer to the next wing, enabling a steady, weekly flow of trained fleet personal. Those who do not progress, are given jobs around the station and trained in other categories needed in the success of any fleet or ship. Each wing, has living space and classrooms for up to 500 students and staff, making the potential weekly graduating class near 500.

HISTORY
The Academy is fairly new and has only produced a hand full of graduated classes thus far, but as stated above, new classes graduate weekly.

INTENT
Paying for capital ships is a challenge in and of itself, but to crew them is a whole new problem. This Academy is created to tackle such a dilemma and also provide others with a location to add to their back stories if they so choose.

Who funded this academy? Who does it source its graduates to?

This seems like something that would need to be created in RP.

If I may make a suggestion. The Five Syndicates would be more than willing to fund this academy as a way to crew our joint fleet. If it's something we would have to do in-character, I would be more than willing to do a negotiation thread with Grace. Because Grace =

Funded indirectly by the 5 Syndicates. I was thinking of tagging it with the ORI so that it be more legit and it would not be known to be a syndicate recruiting tool. The graduates, or at least the ones who had to use the scholarships (95%), would be incorporated into the service of the syndicates and their fleets.

In all, it not be much different then the recruiting pitch and propaganda of the Empire in the movie "Solo". Canadettes would be poor backwater planet individuals looking to better their lives and this would be just the ticket they are looking for and for many of them, will be happy to go along with it. Honestly, it be trading living on the streets for a job and schooling to improve their lives. Why could be wrong with that?

Although recruiting will take place throughout the galaxy, I doubt many inner rim individuals, even those living on the streets would join up. It mostly targets the outer rim planets in which few to no one really cares about.

We can role play its creation if you like.

The concept itself seems fine for sure. But I do think you should RP out its funding/creation, its a pretty big thing to just suddenly stick in space and say "this is here now!"

So just give me a tag here when some thread(s) are done and stuff for it and we should be good to go. I'll give it the "Approved Pending Completion" tag for now.
