DESCRIPTION
The first ship to be manufactured by Outer Rim Inc. It was made for the needs of their main customer, the 5 Syndicates. The makeshift fleets of the Syndicates were too top heavy or were made with too much firepower but not enough defense against smaller craft. Like the Empire before it, its greatest weakness was groups of smaller starfighters infiltrating the safety bubble of the larger capital ships and destroying them with precise targeting. The OR Gun Boat was created to prevent this from happening. Their dual medium turrets made quick work of fighters, but also their 4, quad-Point defense cannons also were lethal to fighters and their torpedo/rockets.Bring in the capital ships to do the heavy lifting and the gun boats to protect the capital ships.
Two failed versions before it was marketed making this a MK III.
LEGALITY
Although semi-heavily armed, the slow movement and maneuverability of the craft make it relatively harmless when its by itself. Also the fact that only a few of these actually exist, their legality is fair to tame.INTENT
Need a key support ship for 5S fleets.RESTRICTIONS
PvE only, these ships are too powerful to be used in PvP unless it is fleet vs fleet combat, then these are a key part of the makeup of the fleet that they are a part of.
