DESCRIPTION
The P1-D3S class droid (also nicknamed 'Pleiades') is designed by Newton Arden on behast of Blackwell Automata, requested by Morgan Ali-Drast. The P1-D3S is modeled after the D3-NB class, and closely resembles it, with can lead to some mistaking this droid for the latter, and has other similarities as well. The P1-D3S droid was designed to be an extremely capable model, with it's main function being a body-guard droid, although can be used for other purposes such as guard vital areas or battlefield use. The P1 also has a translator unit per Morgan's request, which allows the droid to translate languages from a vast database for the droid's charge without the need to bring a protocol droid along.

The P1-D3S would be the most advanced droid spec-wise that Newton has designed, although the most rare and expensive of them yet. The P1 droid is fast and agile with it's nimble frame, in addition the P1-D3S can perform jumps similar to the old IG-100 Magnaguards of the old CIS without the use of another function. The P1-D3S was also built to be inherently more smart than the normal droid, more so than the D3. The P1 has a heuristic processor, allowing the droid to learn over time. Given time, the P1 could develop personality, although perhaps at a quicker rate. When assigned a charge as a bodyguard/guardian, the P1 will protect it's charge against attackers and assassins. It's bodyguard and anti-assassination protocols with the droid's increased intelligence along with reflexes lets it react extremely quickly. The droid may even sacrifice itself so that it's charge can live.

The Pleiades droids specialize in melee combat, being programmed to fight with any manner swords, batons, or polearms, as well as being able to dual wield one-handed weapons effectively. They can also well fight unarmed with it's bare armored fisti cuffs or with other fist weapons. That's not to say they can't use ranged weapons as needed, as they can use rifles or pistols. They can also wield a melee weapon in one and pistol in another, although they are less effective with ranged weapons .

Playing off of the anti-Force user hysteria, these droids were advertised to be effective against force-users as well, for those paranoid towards them. A notable helpful addition is that the droid's hands and forearms are coated with Phrik, allowing them to withstand a lightsaber strike, which compliments the droid's regular durasteel shell just fine, the latter of which provides protection on par with armor. With the P1's combination of speed and agility along with it's melee capabilities and protection, a P1 can provide a challenge against a Jedi Knight/Sith Marauder's own lightsaber one-on-one, in theory anyway (and discounting the use of the force.)

Like the D3, if a P1-D3S droid would be subdued, rendered inoperable, or destroyed, the droid will attempt to fry it's memory core, rendering anyone unable to retrieve data from it, a failsafe if the bodyguard droid is witness to any sensitive information that the owner can't afford have extracted.

The P1-D3S has quite an assortment of customizations in regards to it's physical appearance, with a variety of color-schemes and paint jobs avaliable, as well as custom ones (with extra charge). The P1 comes with a female vocabulator by default.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Being combat models, P1-D3S series droids require special permits and licensing for ownership in most regions, Being higher end models, authorizes in civilized systems would be more strict, but nothing too harsh. Although this much-rarer-seen droid is likely to be mistaken as a very similar D3 model and they may be subject to less scrutiny in practice.

INTENT
This droid submission is to fulfil a purchase request from another character to produce a droid to latter's specifications from this thread. Instead of making making a submission that would be just one droid for one character, making it open use as well. So this droid is another option as far as bodyguard droids (for like high value PC/NPCs), a modern alternative to the old IG-100. This also has other uses, such being another object for other characters to purchase from my character Newton. Can also be used as formidable NPC obstacles in threads .etc And also as use for a PC, for those wanting to roleplay as an advanced droid.

RESTRICTIONS
Personal ownership of a P1 droid would not be easy, but still doable. Characters based on the P1 may be created, but will be subject to increased scrutiny.
