The hour of the wolf. Or, at least, that's what people tended to call it. That part of the night just before the wee hours of the morning where everything was still quiet except for the occasional rustle in the leaves from one of the woodland natives indigenous to Cularin. Ral Aran sat atop his own personal Basilisk War Droid, surrounded by several other Mandalorian Warriors on Basilisks of their own. It was a powerful moment for the Mandalorian warrior, to see so many of his own kind waiting for the order to be given to start the large, almost unprecedented assault (at least since the Claimant wars) on another group by a unified force of Mandalorians. Ral knew he would't forget it for as long as he lived; he could almost feel the how much this moment meant to all those assembled.

Looking at his side, there sat Seanna Vel on her own Basilisk, the ginger was a relatively new member of the Confederacy he had managed to recruit, she was looking ready. Ral had set of aliit'gam armor made especially for her since he knew she wanted to accompany him on this mission. She had painted it blue and black, interesting choice, it definitely clashed with her red hair which was currently hidden away underneath the helmet. He looked into her T-shaped visor and wondered what she was thinking. Though he could have opened private line to her, he liked wondering; there was something nice in a mystery. Ral extended a hand out towards her to grab her hand and give it a slight squeeze; he knew this was her first real battle, and he just wanted to give her some reassurance.

Ahead of them, not too far away, was the shield generator for Soboll's defensive shield. A power line connected it to the projector the projectors inside the elevated city. The generator itself was on a portion of the platform that was well guarded and hard to get to, the power line however was much easier to attack. That would be the Basilisks' target for the first part of the attack. With power to the shield cut off, the base would be wide open to the full blitz of the Confederacy war machine. Hundreds of fighters and transports would fall upon the city and hopefully overwhelm them before the defenders could respond.

Signaling the waiting forces to be prepared for the shield to go down, Ral knew it was almost time to launch the attack. Looking back to Seanna, the Mandalorian nodded. Raising his right hand, he curled it into a fist and dropped it; the signal to attack was given. Launching upwards into the air with great speed, Ral and his fellow warriors would be to the power conduit in less than a minute, and then with the combined power of the war droids, would leave the base completely defenseless. Soaring through the air the Mandalorians looked similar to a swarm of insects taking flight in the distance, perhaps a lot like beetles or locust of some sort. Ral wish he could have felt the wind through his hair, but his helmet was on, targeting data and tactical overlays flashing before his eyes.

The conduit drew close, and once in range, Ral fired. Or perhaps more appropriately, his Basilisk fired. And so did the other Basilisks with him. They all focused fire on a particular point in the line. The focused firepower of over a hundred war droids would rip open the protective durasteel casing and obliterate the power feeds. Once the shield dropped the Basilisks would join with the fighters and dropships in assaulting the base itself. A massive explosion ripped open part of the base and the shockwave rippled outward. The shield flickered for a moment then failed entirely.

The time for the battle had come.

OOC: Due to time constraints, I'd like to institute the the 48 hour timeout rule for this thread despite it being a mission, and to put an overall time limit of 2 weeks to finish this. This gives everyone until the 20th of this month to get this done.

It was the knots in her stomach that had to be pushed away. Even then this was all such new to her, it wasn't like couldn't say it wasn't in her nature. Being born the way had been, at less the story she been told. Or was it the flashes of memorizes that had flowed from her blanket. Then it had been the way she had painted her armor, knowing that it something of seen her mother do. The only question where did that memory come from.

Finishing it the way it looked it blended into the place as if she stocking. The blue wasn't a bright shade but that of a darker color one that did blend into to there sense. Only to break way from this thought feeling Ral hand reach for hers. Letting her own reach his to with his for a few second. Wondering with out a doubt what the other warrior thought or saw of the two of them. Knowing she had a lot to prove not only to them but still to Ral. Even those he had words with her before coming on this mission, nothing to prove that she already proved to him what he needed to know for her to be with him. That only flashed something more of redness of her own cheeks. This was a time when a helmet was nice so no one saw this upon her. What did other thing of between them as Ral hadn't been very destret to the fact of what was that word she was looking, only thinking thinking of is how a male marks its territory that was it.

Letting go she couldn't help but see how he took control just like he did with her, or was it that he was the first she was letting do so fully. No that wasn't all of it she also felt he hadn't taken full control of her more of a respect of who she was letting her have that fierceness still with her own voice. Waiting for his hand to drop knowing the what needed to be done but also, knowing how it would be done.

It was giving it was as if the powerful war droid knew it was time for it to start its job coming to lift as it let loose the firing. Even those she had tight on her hands as her knuckles seem to be taking a white color only they was covered by her own gloves.

Ser'eph grinned under his helmet. He felt the power of the monstrous semi-sentient war droid under him as it's cannon's boomed through the air, ripping into the durasteel protecting his target. Soon, his people would make the galaxy fear them again. Everyone would tremble at the thought of the Mandalorians, conquering gods. He banked his droid around and came back for a second pass, but the shields had been dropped, he quickly fell in behind Ral, thinking back on his past, to his beloved wife.

"This is for you Kixata, I wish you were here with me. I'll make you proud." He didn't care that his com was open and that others may have heard his words, despite him speaking them softly.
He followed it up with a loud whoop and shouted,
"OYA 'VOD! Let's show 'em the power of a Mandalorian war band!" He waited for Ral's wardroid to begin it's descent to their second target, vowing to protect the man, with his own life if needed.

((Sorry for the short post, needed to get it in before the 48 hour mark -_- also sorry I've been awol for the past week and a halfish...been super busy))

Darman felt his ears pop and shift to normalcy as the dropship descended into the atmosphere. He was glad that he was here in the second wave of soldiers, instead of with the first wave on the Basillisk. He didn't particularly like the machines, they were very ugly in his opinion. And at least wouldn't be shot to pieces by the initial push, granted he'd still be right smack in the middle of all the fighting. Instead, he found himself surrounded by others Mandalorian troopers readying for a aerial insertion using Sky Trooper-style rigs. The white wings neatly folded in to allow the entire platoon to fit inside of the bay.

It seemed like only a moment ago that they'd been doing final checks on the equipment back in the hangars of the main battle fleet. Now a dull red light illuminate the quiet bay. It was an impressive sight seeing the dozens of t-visors staring back at each other. Most would be spending these final moments on quiet contemplation, while others were probably sending messages to loved one. All-in-all though, Darman knew that there would be no chattering or bantering as they approached their drop vector. Dar had debated messaging Gwen during these final moments, but knew that typically set her on edge.

He knew that she knew what he was doing. When he left, there were no tears or pleading for him to stay. She kissed him goodbye in her usual way and then watched him depart until he left her sight. He didn't say goodbye to Sally this time around, but he knew she would understand that as well. He'd have to make it up to her of course, but she was used to the ways of their people. They all knew that this was the way of their warrior culture.

Darman was snapped out of the thought when the flashing of the red light and the opening of the bay doors. A loud roaring filled the compartment and stars rolled passed. Occasionally, he could catch a glimpse of another dropship of fighter escort flying past. A lone man stood up at the end, a man wearing a similar pack on his back. He made several gestures with his hand and almost as one solid movement the entire band of Mandalorians stood up and formed into two lines. A voice entered the platoon's circuit, "Sen'tra Platoon, you have your orders and designated sector of flying. Good Luck down there."

It would be another few minutes before the final signal to jump came through. Once the dull red changed to green, the whole atmosphere of the group changed. They moved very swiftly, the the Jumpmaster slapping each of them on the shoulder for luck right before they dropped. When it was his turn, Darman didn't even hesitate. With the Jumpmaster's final reassuring touch the solid ground beneath his feet disappeared, his stomach with it.

With a jolt, the organ resumes it's place as the wings sprang open and jets kicked in. He could see the city ahead, a simmering of light as Basillisk began firing into the settlement. Keeping an eye on the gauges, Darman would know immediately if anything went wrong. He didn't like the Basillisk, but he didn't particularly want to die after falling a very long ways. Yet the trip was very quick. It was only after a moment that he was coming in for a landing. With a final puff of flames, the reverse thrusters bled his speed for a comfortable, if not sudden, landing. Reaching for his rifle, Darman began heading towards the rendevous...

(OOC: Heretic will not be joining us)

With the protective force field down, it was time for the true battle to commence. The Basilisks would swarm to the city now, and once again wash over it like giant mechanical locusts with guns blazing, missiles firing, and claws tearing. It would be the dream of any Mandalorian who fancied themselves one of the old warriors. Pulling on the controls for his war droid, Ral would lead the group up and over to where the city and military base rose out of the platform. Bringing his massive war droid up and over the lip of the platform, Ral descended into the narrow avenues of Soboll just as the alarms went off. Blaring klaxxons and red strobing lights lit up the platformed town.

"Looks like they've just realized what's happening," Ral called out over the comms, ignoring the usual banter and battle traffic that crossed them, using his command override for his voice to be heard above all the others. It was time for the Mandalorians to show what they could do. Swooping down on his Basilisk, Ral buzzed the street, firing the droid's cannons at a power relay station for the city. As the blaster cannons shredded and ripped the station apart, the lights for a good portion of the city shut off, plunging it into darkness. Pulling up, Ral's droid swung over a high bridge which connected several buildings together. There was several people on it and they all scattered at the sight of the droid.

The timing was perfect, for just at that moment the first wave of Kar'kads, StarVipers, and Kom'rks fell from the black moonless sky. The fighters would stream forth and attack key targets and installations with focused attack runs. The Kom'rks would first dump air assault troopers onto the city streets; it would cause confusion and allow the Mandalorians to inundate the defenders on all sides preventing a coherent defense forming quickly and easily. With their cargo delivered the Kom'rks would return to the carrier to get the jet infantry to land them at key points or places of enemy strength. So far, though, the defenders were almost nowhere to be seen.

With the attack proceeding on schedule, Ral commed his wing of Basilisk. "Focus your attacks on the Soboll airfield and spaceport! Prevent the defenders from getting air support or rallying am effective defense there!" It was a simple order, and Ral was already on his way over himself. He just hoped they would get there before the attack stalled and the defenders managed to get themselves together.

Even those her own adridelen taking over. Even so she let herself go with the moment even so she could see those around being a veteran. Coming out of the mass fire even so she let herself go into the moment. First the first time she didn't think just did. Letting one more cry even if it was just to herself, hearing the chatter go on. Coming out as she knew that once they got into the city she would have her place high to start her own skills.

Even so she keep up with Ral the best she could even those she wasn't as skill with one of these things.

(Since this thread has stalled I'm going to open it up to any Confederacy member interested in joining. To note though, my replies will be based off of @Seanna Vel)

As Ral piloted his Basilisk War Droid over to the airfield, he did a scanner check to make sure that Seanna hadn't fallen behind during their flight over the city. A small wave of relief took him as he saw her on his scopes, doing her best to keep up and avoid any fire from the ground that attempted to hit them. Turning about in the saddle of his war droid, Ral glanced back to look at the redhead for a moment as he activated his private comm to her. "How are you doing Seanna? Staying safe, right?" He chuckled, she didn't want to leave his side, and he wanted her to be with him, but also for her to be safe as she wasn't just watching out for herself anymore. It was why Ral demanded the armor smiths make her abdomen plate with some of the precious reserves of beskar they kept on hand. He'd only accept the best protection for Seanna.

Gripping the controls of his Basilisk tightly, Ral pulled up on them so he would be able to dive bomb the nearby airfield which was just beginning to mobilize. Unfortunately for them, a whole swarm of beetle-like war droids was going to be descending on the strip. Ral let out a whoop and a shout, giving the order for his fellow warriors to open fire on the base before them. Scarlet lasers lit up the darkness as Mandalorians came down and attacked them from all angles. Explosions rocked the ports, fighters which had been parked outside as a QRF were targeted, and the teams which had been sent to make them battle-ready started running in all directions. As Ral skimmed low over the ground, he pulled the weapons control on his Basilisk and fired again and again, strafing the ships and people on the ground with blaster fire. So far, they had taken the defenders completely by surprise.

Staying right one his six even then came something more then just that it was more of a way to make sure he keep an eye on her. Wondering now if that lady at the scanner keep her mouth shut. Finding herself only to find herself letting loose once again as all rain down hell or in her case fire. Knowing that if just one of those buggers got up it would be trouble not only for them but for there incoming. "Yes I"m find don't worry I'm a big girl, sweetheart." as she let herself enjoy this way to much.

Finding herself making away over to what looked to be hanger only to see the door start to slide open going to the open commlink in her helmet. "we need someone at the six at that damn blasted hanger bay." Feeling that there was bring the heat down upon this hanger bay only to feel that she just stopped something that oculd be very very bad. Finding herself only after a point to see that there was big very big exposition upon this.

So far, the attack wasn't going too terribly bad. They had achieved complete surprise, and were taking advantage of every opportunity to strike the Thaereian's gave them. So far, the Mandalorians had achieved, or nearly achieved most of their objectives that they had wanted to by the current time index. Just as Ral had paused to check the battle situation, one of the anti-air laser cannons went off nearby. The Thaereian's had managed to get it up and running. "Kriff, someone take that thing down!" The Mandalorian Aliit'alor shouted through his comms as it fired again up into the sky. The shot winged a passing StarViper, not enough to bring it down, but it would definitely have to go to a carrier for repairs. Then another defensive cannon fired, and another. The defenders were managing to get the cannons on and firing effectively despite the sneak attack and the damage they had already sustained. Nearby, he could see Seanna making her way towards one of the hangers. "Flight three, stay on Seanna and help her clear out that hanger!" He barked. The indicator lit up green on his helmet; he didn't have time to follow her in, he needed to get some of these guns offline.

Looking up Ral could see large winged forms, grey as rock descending through the dark night sky. The second wave of Mandalorians was about to hit as the Kom'rks were just about to return with another payload of Mandalorians who were all itching for a battle. That would send the local defenders into a panic, hopefully one that would start a general rout, and if not the combined aerial attacks and Basilisk strikes would keep up the pressure until the third wave of Mandalorian warriors were deployed to the fortress town. Pulling up the map on his helmet, Ral directed the reinforcements to land at the airfield and help the currently engaged forces take it. With a slight pull on his Basilisk, the great war droid turned to and began to charge one of the laser cannons. It began firing at it, taking out one of the support pylons causing the cannon to shift and miss its target. "All flights, focus your attack runs on the anti-air and defensive batteries at the airfield, the guns have gone online, we need to drop them before they start picking us off!"

Just as Ral shouted that his Basilisk had reached the cannon and was firing its sonic cannons into the plasma injector assembly, attempting to disable it before it could fire again. "What's your status, Seanna?"
