And it's just because he's cute.

If I was willing to risk a ban, I would post some pics that would definitely ruin pikachu's cuteness for you. :CHappy:

I sure have fought EV'd ones, I got on the competitive tournys. Typhlosion is in the NU rank because of his all around mediocre stats, and even though Feraligatr has 4 stat points less it's still a tier above in UU. This is all besides the fact as you never see a Typhlosion with Thunder Punch in competitive anyway, because it plays off the weaker Attack as opposed to the Special Attack that Overheat would use. If you for some reason raised your Typhlosion up as a physical sweeper then you'd have to be lucky to kill Feraligatr with one unboosted attack, and then the Torrent kicks in and you get whomped with a 400% water damage attack (Base 100+ STAB 50+ Torrent 50x Supereffective 2).

Edit: Didn't see this one.

You're right, the STAB doesn't make it more powerful than a supereffective, and in the PVE game it's good to have a wide range of elements. I was assuming when the original comment said a Typhlosion against a Feraligatr that it was in a competitive setting with optimized sets.

Actually their tier it depends where you look, I've seen several places put Typhlosion and Feraligatr in Borderline.

And his stats aren't mediocre, they are decent for a speed special. I've seen Typhlosions wreck hacked Pokemon. Like completely hacked pokemon, ones that would never pass a legal checker. And the pokemon where water pokemon.

We can put this to the test when we get our teams up.
And what were the rules your tournies played with?

His stats are mediocre for the competitive play, not really sure how you're arguing. If he beat a hacked Pokemon then that's more the flaw of the player.

Species, Item, the Status Clauses, and no Ubers if I remember. I didn't pick Feraligatr, so it'd take a while for me to raise, not to mention breed one.

I outgrew Pokemon when Yu-Gi-Oh! became popular. Even though the last Pokemon game I got was Pokemon Sapphire, it was still after my time. How older people can still play these games bewilders me. Nothing against you Pokefans, but if you lived here, you would be looked down upon dramatically if you played these games while in high school or college.

Huh. See, a good bunch of my friends are pretty open about it and I don't remember getting any crap for it. That or we just don't care, because a video game is a video game despite the title.

Ehh, no compared to a lot he's up there.
And actually not really, even hacked pokemon suffer from their stat weaknesses.
Today we did a test, provided the Feraligatr is not EVed Special Defense and HP it can be killed in one hit with a Typhlosion using eruption.

Whatever you say, but I don't believe it for one second, especially if you're using a Fire attack.

Do the math.

I did. It came out to 100-200 damage for your Overheat, and 311 minimum health for a Feraligatr. To assume they wont EV into Health isn't good practice, as that's one of Feraligatr's strengths, but I still did it for you anyway.

I was just trying to drop the subject since you obviously won't budge.

Few things, Eruption not over heat. Minimum health for a Feraligatr is 280. Which is the number on several websites. Also the most EV a Feraligatr typically has into HP is 28 EVs which translates to 7 extra HP. And its health state is mediocre, its strengths are in attack and defense. There are several pokemon in the same rank that would be more effective walls. I am not sure where you get that Feraligatr is a HP wall.

I've done the calculations a Typholision EVed for Special, which is a normal EV for a typhlosion, holding choice specs, using eruption at full health will hit between 275.936(276) and 324.662 (325) damage. With out of the random numbers(85 - 100) leaves two numbers 85, and 86 that the move will not kill it. Even with the 7 extra HP it still will one hit it.
Then Solar Beam also works, hold a power herb no charge up time. If the Fera is not max special EVed, which would be using the wrong pokemon for the wrong job, it'd hit a minimum of 393.
You don't need to believe me, but you need to believe the numbers. Ten minutes of research shows it can do enough damage to win, a good amount of the time.

And he told you he was trying to end this ridiculous e-peen contest, and you continued arguing.

Stop it, both of you.

I don't see where he tried to drop it. Is it with the "whatever"? I honestly suggests he uses a different word next time, "whatever" implies you have a sense of smugness. Which I interpreted as "I am right and you are wrong".
