Paqualis III
Chateau Vidalis

Near the equator of Paqualis III, a rather large mansion settled itself near pristine waters and smooth beaches with little else in sight. All guests were escorted for a health retreat, should they want it, as compensation on behalf of those who were in service of the Rangers and the assault on Coruscant. Rangers, Jedi, and civilians were welcome to ease their pain in the therapeutic waters or enjoy any amenities offered, either within the privacy of their own guest rooms or socially with others they fought alongside.

It was the least the Good Doctor could do on behalf of her dream, MorataCorp. Her private residence, transformed into a health retreat without Mother knowing... she could hardly wait to see the Arkanian's face, and finally see it white with restrained anger. However, the reason was twofold, and left unsaid. She wanted to thank those, particularly, who had charged straight in to help someone dear to her, and those which risked their health in service also as affiliates of Rangers. And it was an olive branch to Rangers as a whole; that the soon-to-be CEO of MorataCorp was willing to work with Rangers for a better, brighter future.

Within the gardens, the good Doctor waited for her guests to arrive. After all, it would be a poor host if she wasn't prepared for anything, but she hoped they would at least refrain from shooting the walls or something for fun.

There was a gun range for that very reason, after all. She may own an estate, that didn't mean she would have to pay monthly bills to upkeep it.

This thread is for Rangers, Jedi, and others who were involved with rescue at Coruscant, and is purely meant to be a social. Let's let loose and have some fun!

When Nykoria—among many others who were involved in repelling the Sith attack—received an in invitation to Chateau Vidalis on Paqualis III, she was reluctant at first. Not that she was opposed to that (quite the opposite, actually); it's just that her usual recreational pastimes on Coruscant could be seen inappropriate by the more hardline and ascetic Jedi. Besides, Kori hadn't been to a proper social event for almost a decade, ever since she had joined the Jedi Order.

What did tip the scale was the thought about a bigger picture. The Zeltron had come to Coruscant to discuss cooperation with the rangers against the Sith. Instead, she ended up helping the Rangers deal with the aftermath of a Sith attack, and even had a hand in saving Chief Douglas. What better way to meet a few like-minded individuals and gain support for the fledging Guardian movement in the Jedi Order? To everyone else, however, Kori just said that she could use a change of pace.

The burns on the face that the Zeltron had sustained from an explosion were healing quite nicely. She was no longer the walking corpse that could jump-scare Darmus Onn and make him curse to himself. However, the marks on her left cheeks and forehead would forever remind Kori about her failure at the basement of the HQ. Another concern Nykoria had was the clothes. Jedi usually didn't have too much in the way of possessions. The Zeltron's best outfit (the dark-brown leather jacket) also happened to be the one that had taken molten duracrete alongside Kori's face back on Coruscant. So, if the party had a dress code, Nykoria would be short of an actual dress.

Instead of appearing in the gardens in a tattered jacket over a casual getup, the Zeltron had chosen a universal outfit: the traditional Jedi robes, which weren't in short supply. A fitting ivory tunic with dark saddlebrown-bordering-on-black tabards could work for almost any occasion, even if the Zeltron was dressed down when compared to everyone else.

Although she had left the stun pistol with her other possessions, the two halves of the saberstaff were secured on Kori's belt. If asked, the Zeltron could detach and relinquish the emitters, rendering the sabers little more than glorified cylinders with crystals inside. But in the end, the crystals were all that mattered. The rest could be repaired or replaced with relative ease.

In the gardens, Kori would give the Doctor Morata a polite nod accompanied by an easy-to-miss smile. The Zeltron wouldn't say anything just yet, instead focusing on her surroundings and other guests for the time being. She'd let the host say her part first, if there was any speech to be made.

A manor. A real one. Corran stood on the walkway craning his neck upward at a building that had more rooms than he had extended relatives. Chateau Vidalis – whatever that meant – was not just any manor. It was the planetary home of Doctor Ilana Morata. A… personal relation that had kept this high class abode a secret. That’s not entirely fair; he had never asked either. The young Ranger could already see the Arkanian woman saying that with a one-shouldered shrug. There was no point standing outside the grounds gawking – he had been invited and he could see what the place was really like. How the other half truly lived.

Anyone noticing the blond youth’s approach to the garden would see much of the same if they had met him before, though a few things had certainly changed. A jacket covered his torso, secured up the collar, while pants, finely pressed, tucked into pragmatic boots. All of it had the crispness of a cadet in boot camp. The first new addition to attire was a leather buckle that slide across the Ranger’s chest and looped to his back. A sword hilt was visible over his left shoulder. He had lost nearly every weapon in the loss of Sector Ranger HQ, so he kept that sword taken from the Sith assailant on his person nearly all the time. A visible display of what others might call paranoia. He considered it just being careful.

The second new feature was a scar that diagonally sliced from left side of his upper cheek, up the bridge of his nose and barely nicking the corner of his right eyebrow. It had healed, but still looked raw. In time, it would dull but never, ever go away. Despite the dreadful mark, it could not help but be outshined by the innocent, boyish countenance. Wonder beamed from Corran’s face as he glanced about in every direction at each new thing. The gardens themselves were nothing but a larger example of the same greenery Ilana held on her Quad Five. Colorful blooms, hardy shrubs, slithering vines, and towering stems. This was much more than a shipboard hobby. He wondered if she had staff that tended to the grounds while away.

And there she was. Sky blue eyes laid squarely on the regal Arkanian doctor. Even amongst all the natural beauty, hers trumped all. As much as Corran wanted to embrace her, this was a professional setting. Ilana was well on her way to building a respectable business and possible partners and interests might turn up. Perhaps one already had. By the robes, the Zeltron was a force-user. Given that she wasn't culling the locals, she likely was part of the Jedi cult. Less dangerous type - supposedly. Nevertheless, the male Ranger advanced on the host of the gathering and practically clicked his heels together in salute. "Doctor Morata, a pleasure to see you again. Your manor is quite impressive." No doubt, she would know that was a subdued compliment. The blond youth's feelings were nothing short of celebratory excitement, only contained by his iron discipline. "I see you have quite the... patience for those given leave of your grounds." Corran glanced over his shoulder at the force-user with a look of skepticism. Did they really need those types to succeed? Alas, the young man would be patient and cordial. It was not his place to cause a scene. Besides, it was time to relax.

PAQUALIS III

Trini Halrixien looked around at the diverse and tastefully arranged foliage that mad up the garden of the frankly stunningly beautiful estate where she and the other veterans of Coruscant had been invited to recuperate.

The little Amaran still felt like she didn't quite belong, but Doctor Morata's insistence had been hard to refuse. Her one condition for acceptance, however, was that she be allowed to send for someone specific to stay with her during her convalescence.

"This truly is an impressive estate. Certainly better than that hangar you left me in."

Trini glanced down at ZZ-4A4, her droid copilot, and one of her small but growing circle of friends. She gave a sigh, shaking her head, and subconsciously rubbing at the slowly healing scar that ran along her cheek.

"Zeezee, I already said I was sorry. And I did explain that I got arrested, right? Besides, it couldn't have been that bad!"

The squat, boxy pilot droid gave an electronic snort.

"Did you know there are Jawas on the orbital stations above Tatooine?" The droid replied sullenly. "I do. I spent 3 days trying to keep them from taking bits off the ship! Bits off me, as well! Beastly things."

Trini rolled her eyes, and then looked around again. As sh did, she caught sight of familiar faces. Immediately, she grinned, waving and jogging in the direction of her newfound friends.

"Corran! Ilana! Nykoria! Good to see you all!"

Im here. I'm really here! My first invitation in years! Alania Vane thought to herself as she walked into the garden. She saw someone and walked up to that person. Alania tapped on the persons shoulder.
"Um hi! Im just got here. Do you know where we are supposed to go?" Alania asks.

Her eyes warmed subtly at the sight of Corran, drinking him in just a few moments longer than necessary. Even with the scar... especially with the scar... he was a handsome young man, striking for sure. Despite the rawness of the wound, he seemed delighted at all he saw, and a measure of pride touched her at realizing he, of all there, approved. However, at his words she dipped her head once, amber eyes warming.

"It's not my estate anymore,"
she demurred quietly, "but an offering to the Rangers from MorataCorp, with hopes to use as a personal health retreat as those in service need." She glanced at his face, and a faint smile still graced her lips. Her arm was still bandaged and wrapped against her chest, but otherwise she was dressed in a long white dress with a demure cut, a simple white jacket thrown over her shoulders.

She reached out a hand, lightly touching his own briefly.
"I hope it will suit... for the Rangers?" she asked quietly, but there was an unsaid undertone to it; that it would serve for him.

She withdrew the touch at the approach of Trini, giving a nod to the smaller being.
"Trini, it's good to see you recovered," she replied quietly, amber eyes taking the other female in. "And... Nykoria?" She glanced at the Zeltron Jedi, then nodded once. "Thank you all for coming."

Drawing up to her full height, she glanced over them, every inch the regal politician's daughter it seemed. More guests were bound to arrive soon, but this announcement would do for now.

"Chateau Vidalis is officially a private retreat intended for certified Rangers and their Affiliates, on behalf of Morata. Please, enjoy yourselves here as though you were at home. All services and amenities will be provided; there are beaches and other areas for recreation..." she glanced briefly at Corran but otherwise said nothing, "and for those still wounded from the assault, as well as any future health emergencies, may convalesce here with full access to an accredited medical suite and spa. And now..." she spread her free hand out, a faint smile touching her lips as she spoke.

"My home is yours. Please, enjoy."
And with that, the grand speech was over. Others arriving would soon know as well; this was their place now, she was merely its' caretaker.

She walked into the HUGE estate garden and noticed others already there. She looked around for the host and finally found her. (@Dr Ilana Morata )
She didn't know how to get her attention but decided to tap her shoulder, which she did.
"Excuse me. But have you seen a girl that looks like me? Her name is Alania Vane. Is she here?" the girl asked slightly annoyed.

For the time being, the Zeltron Jedi retired into her shell, simply observing the new arrivals. The first arrival was a blond guy—Nykoria hadn't met that Ranger during the attack, but found out that his name was Corran—sharply dressed, with the air of CSF Academy by-the-book cadet about him. But it wasnt the clothes or the looks that drew the attention of the Zeltorn. For a moment, Kori felt an all too familiar cold about it. Something off about the guy. Feels like... A Sith? Armed too. Though you're the one to talk, Kori. The Zeltron checked the sabers on her hilts. Still there. Kori did gaze at the man and the blade sheathed behind his back, but not long enough for the gaze to be considered inappropriate.

Even from the distance, Nykoria's sense for emotions caught something going on between the human Ranger and the Arkanian host. But that was their business, and Kori had hers. So for the time being, she kept a respectable distance and gave the couple some privacy. But a metaphorical invisible prickle coming from their direction made the Zeltron turn her head towards them again. Just in time to catch that Corran guy peeking at her over the shoulder. As if in defiance, Nykoria smiled widely, tilted her head and pretended to examine the lush greenery of the gardens. I've seen you looking at me. You know it, I know it. What's your game though?

That's when the new arrival caught Kori, while she was feeling amusingly suspicious and suspiciously amused. A young Amaran—Trilla, right?—recognized Nykoria and even remembered her name, despite crossing paths only briefly back on Coruscant. The Zeltron replied to the cheerful greeting with a smile (this time genuine) and a nod, as she followed the Amaran to the other guests, to be greeted by Doctor Morata. Oh, gosh, the name's Trini! Glad I didn't say it first.

Then the regal white-haired woman addressed the Zeltron. And by her full name no less. "Please, it's just Kori," the purple-skinned alien replied with a faint smile. Hearing her full name usually made Nykoria's skin crawl. It wasn't something she could reason with, hence she always introduced herself with a pet name. Even to the Sith she had encountered at the Ranger HQ on Coruscant. It made sense that she'd be known as Kori to everyone else. Especially to that Corran guy who kind of felt like a Sith too. Kori is harder to dig up in archives than Nykoria Tallis.

On the outside, however, the Zeltron didn't let her suspicions and uncertainty show. A polite smile never left her face while the Doctor made her speech. "Thank you for having us," she replied after the speech was concluded. Apparently, the guests were still arriving, so Nykoria decided to mingle for the time being. It felt like the right thing to do for the moment.

Oh no! MORE people! One of Malia's worst fears. She wasn't a huge fan of people. Only her sister. Which for some reason WAS NO WHERE TO BE SEEN!
Malia had a weird feeling though. Like a feeling that said
DANGER! or something like that. Was it a Sith? But how? How would a sith get in to this party?

But on the other hand, Malia did want some new friends or whatever they were called. On the outside, she looked like a normal girl. But on the inside, she was hurting. Her older sister was more "popular" and had friends. Malia didn't.

At some point, Malia heard the name Kori. It sounded familiar to Malia. Someone from training maybe?
Weird right?
Malia argued with herself but finally decided to go up to this "Kori" person.

"Uh hello! My name is Malia." she said shyly.
Wow. 'Thought that was gonna turn out better.
Malia is NOT a people person and the clues show it.

Quite some time had passed time since Falynn had attended any sort of social gathering. The reason wasn’t a lack of time, but mostly because she was content with a quiet evening at home. So when the medic received an invitation to Paqualis III, hesitation set in. She almost declined. Did she need to take a break? Probably not. Could she use one? Most certainly. At the very least, Falynn could take the opportunity to visit a planet she’d never been to before. And if Falynn enjoyed herself, well, it would be nice to relax.

The grounds of Chateau Vidalis were beautiful. Everything from the pure beaches to the manor’s architecture exuded elegance. It reminded her considerably of another place on another planet. Looking down at her own clothing, Falynn considered that she should have dressed better for the occasion. Alas, she was in a simple summer blouse with black dress pants. Not her standard attire, but nothing refined. Even with all that had happened on Coruscant, nothing about the medic’s physical appearance had changed. The event had solely affected her psyche.

As she approached the gardens Falynn could hear Doctor Ilana making an announcement. The medic stilled as she listened from a distance so as not to make a disturbance. Ilana’s speech alone spoke volumes to her generosity. This manor was to be a private area for Rangers and Affiliates, open for future medical needs. Now that was something the medic would support.

Once the guests began to mingle, the female Ranger discreetly entered the garden to be among the others. Falynn swept her gaze around the estate and saw that nearly everyone there was someone whom she had interacted with or seen at the Sector Ranger Headquarters. Ilana, the Jedi Zeltron, Corran, and the Amaran had all been present on that fateful day. While Falynn was fortunate to have emerged relatively unscathed, others still carried their battle scars. Even as people socialized, Falynn stood alone in silent observation. As one who enjoyed listening and gathering information on the side, she was content with simply watching the scene unfold.

So Vera was invited to some fancy place.

Force, but karkin' everything hurt. The stump where leg met prosthetic. Bandaged hands wrapped in bacta tightened as she limped forward, jaw tight and blue eyes snapping. She still had the Sith lightsaber with her from that encounter on Coruscant; she would've brought the Kid Crix along, but the boy made a damn vanishing act.

They were all babies in her own mind. So many fresh faces.

She saw another Ranger there, lurking in the corner, and limped her way over, features tight.
"Whatcha think this white-haired kid's angle is?" she addressed to the Ranger Falynn, jerking her head to the white lady talking. "Nobody just up and gives a damn mansion to a bunch of officers for fun."

Perhaps she was being ungracious, but she was hot, tired, and hurting bad. Some peace and quiet might be in order, but she still scanned the crowd for some familiar faces. Her features tightened at seeing robes, however.

Karkin' Jedi. Force users... oughta all be locked up, the smug wizards. Bunch of trouble, all of them.

Ilana’s answer on her manor forced Corran to do a double-take. With a cocked eyebrow, he was only met by a faint smile and cool eyes. She was donating the whole property to the Sector Rangers? The young man couldn’t help but glance around at the surroundings. The mansion, the beach front, the gardens – all for them? A chilly hand brushed against his own, pulling his gaze downward at the contact and then back up to the Arkanian benefactor’s face. His lips parted subtly, astounded. Corran understood the message between the lines in her question. He cleared his throat, “Suit? I’m sure it’ll be a dream for the Rangers. Thank you, Doctor.” What he meant would be easy for her to read. It would be a dream for him. Gratitude was further punctuated by a friendly, innocent grin.

A shout of his name, along with a trail of others, caused the blond youth to glance over to a small alien approaching. It was Trini. A subtle pang of guilt surfaced in the Ranger’s chest. The Amaran had been in his custody and nothing but harm had come to her – a civilian. He had led her into danger and his heroics failed her the most. Scars, visible through short fur, served as a visual reminder to that. With the destruction of Sector Ranger HQ, all files about Trini’s background and record were lost to him. He’d never know anything about her unless she told him. A gentle smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. It didn’t really matter anymore. Trini had fought with him and that made them friends. He waved at her gregariously, welcoming the little woman to the gathering.

Unfortunately, the Jedi came with her. Doctor Morata greeted both of them and Corran was able to learn the name of the Zeltron. Nykoria, though the force-user cultist preferred Kori. Earlier the two had exchanged looks, though the purple alien had smiled at him. An attempt at diplomacy, perhaps? Regardless, if this Kori was here, she had been invited by Ilana and likely had been at the fall of Ranger HQ. Corran’s jaw shifted subtly, as if chewing on stone. Ranger HQ wouldn’t have been attacked at all if these Force cults didn’t exist. If she was friendly, why was the Jedi sizing him up anyway?

After a gracious welcoming speech by the Arkanian owner, the male Ranger followed right on the heels of Kori’s appreciative comment. “Yes, thank you very much, Doctor Morata. The Sector Rangers, I feel, are deeply grateful." Between the natural attractions, private amenities, and social distractions, Corran wasn't quite where to begin. Distantly, Corran noticed the entrance of a fellow Ranger. He almost didn’t recognize her. Dressed in casual attire of a summer blouse and black pants, only the red-dyed hair gave it away. Falynn had come. In a way, that was relieving and comforting. Another individual, and older woman, began chatting her up. He didn't know who it was, but they were quite beat up.

Back to the matter at hand, the blond youth clasped his hands behind his back in a disciplined fashion with his feet shoulder-width apart. "I don't even know where to begin. I don't handle day's off well, but if someone cared to show or explore the grounds with me, I would be delighted," Corran admitted with a side glance to Ilana, but with polite nods to those in the little gathering. While getting to know the place was important if it was to be a Ranger recovery station was professional important, the youthful curiosity truly wanted to see all there was to see. The opulence. The grandeur. A world he thought he'd never see. A world he could now touch. If only he'd have company.

Malia heard a ranger talking about some white-haired kid. Was it her? Or Alania? Either way, white haired KID?
What the hell was with people calling Malia and Alania kids?! Okay well, Alania is considered an adult. But whatever! Malia narrows her eyes at the ranger and walks over.
"You! Are you talkin' bout me or the other white-haired girl that looks simalar to me? Or you just talkin' bout neither of us?"
the white-haired girl asks the ranger.

Roland was glad the Cobalt Viper hadn't been acting up. After Jedha and Dathomir, the maintenance needed for the vehicle was well earned. The pain from those events were still there if he thought about them but otherwise bacta had done the trick. "How's the Galahad?" He asked Indyana over the commlink as he brought his speeder bike to a halt. She was supposedly meeting him at the Chateau.

Roland had taken the time to clean his armor until the blued steel like surface could almost show his reflection. The tropical breeze made his cloak flutter around the back of his legs. The Mandalorian left his westar in the weapons locker onboard his ship, leaving his right hip lighter than he was used to.

The manor, or rather the 'ranger health retreat' looked more impressive in person. Things had changed for the Doctor and her corporation. He realized they had on and off interactions over several years now. Part of him wondered if he should warn Indy about her. The sound of other guests could be heard and the Lieutenant left the bike and approached the gardens where he saw other familiar faces and some unfamiliar ones.

"Chateau Vidalis...hm" he said the name to himself, wondering if it was named after someone or something. The welcoming speech given to the crowd had Roland look towards Indyana. "Well the place is pretty big. Probably can say hey to some people. Maybe a drink or two?" Roland knew the both of them had been working hard. If they took a bit of a break before actually returning to studying historical artifacts or tracking arms dealers it would probably be to their benefit. All work and no play... His eyes behind his visor wondered if he remembered to bring his straw.
