It was lavish here, everything from the ground up was made perfectly, it probably took years to make. This whole place looked expensive, more expensive then the Twi'lek had expected. Cigrewi had no clue what she was even doing here, she had just been not so lightly pushed to throw on her best outfit and be ready to be dragged out of their house. Now she was stuck here, not that there was anything wrong with it, it had good food and it had that warm, fuzzy feeling but other than that, there was nobody to talk to. Not her age at least, but that was just the life of an under-aged daughter of two socialites.

The girl had sat herself down at a table, practically flinging food in her mouth, it didn't matter what it was at this point, it was edible and that made it good enough to work. Of course, something caught her eye, another family had entered, humans. Along with them came what Cigrewi could only assume to be their daughter, with fiery red hair she couldn't be that much older than Cigrewi.

The teen threw herself off the lounge, brushing out her dress before walking over to the new arrival.

And now they were four. Her siblings had managed to drop off one by one, skillfully dodging the occasion that her parents had been planning for. Attendance at one of the fancy get-togethers held and attended to by the rich and wealthy. Still, her two parents, eldest brother and herself would be enough to maintain appearances and ensure that no one was insulted because the Panteers wouldn't come. While her brother actually seemed to enjoy his time here, undoubtedly well prepared to lead their family some day, Ines would rather spend time with more normal people. But then, rich people could be nice too.

As soon as the quartet arrived on the fourth floor, the children went their own ways whilst her parents went to greet the host. Having spent a great deal of her childhood on Ryloth, the twi'lek girl immediately caught her attention. A smile grew on her lips as she saw the other teen approach and soon, the Alderaanian took a few steps towards the stranger too. "Ines" she said rather happily as she stretched out a hand for the other girl to shake.

Once greeted, Ines slowly started walking towards the drinks table by the opposite wall, hopefully bringing the twi'lek along with her. "Have you been here for long?" she asked and chuckled "I suppose any moment up here alone is too long, isn't it?" she continued, hoping that her assumption that the other wasn't connected to the host proved to be true. Her eyes scanned her newfound friend's dress from top to bottom, it certainly seemed to outshine Ines' more simple white one with pale green flowery patterns - but still, there was no envy to be detected as the noble was quite content with what she had for the night.

What a refreshing thing, the redhead wasn't going to snap the twi'lek's head off because she tried to be friendly. Instead, however, the redhead who introduced herself as Ines nodded her over to the drink table. She smiled at the new girl, "I'm Cigrewi, and no I do not have a last name, my family is just introduced as Tawsabam, my--" she cut herself off, hoping the girl wouldn't judge her as Cigrewi counted, "my 7x great-grandfather's name." The twi'lek stopped as she realized the girl was ready to speak.

"Have you been here for long?" Ines let out one of those sweet yet heart chuckles, "I suppose any moment up here alone is too long, isn't it?" Cigrewi giggled, trying not to snort. "Yeah, we've been here since the party started and that was...actually forever go." She snickered, "so, why have you been damned here, Ines?" She asked, noticing the girl scanning her dress, Cigrewi knew compared to her's, Ines was so minimalistic, yet Cigrewi envied her, the kind of dress the Twi'lek wore was too much.

Not being one quick to judge, the Alderaanian simply nodded along graciously as the other girl, somewhat nervously, presented her name in its entirety. The human had spent large parts of her childhood on the Twi'lek home planet and was not completely unfamiliar with their traditions. Throwing a careful glance to her parents, ensuring they were far away enough, the noble leaned in and whispered "I understand" in Twi'leki but with a very strong accent and broken words and naturally, no emphasis made by a lekku. It was not a common language for non Twi'leks to learn, especially among the higher classes who often times had the species associated with lowlier thoughts. A mischievous grin grew on her face as she raised a finger in front of her mouth to signal for the other to keep it a secret.

The two girls seemed to understand each other perfectly with the two of them both not being particularly fond of the party itself. "Well then," she said, still all smiles and a slight shrug "I suppose, after all these harsh years, that you must be very wise" she continued and laughed before taking a sip from her drink. While it looked all fancy and adult, the truth was that her glass simply contained a soda with a few pieces of lemon and an umbrella - but at occasions like these, appearances were all that mattered anyways.

With slightly raised eyebrows and curious eyes, Ines listened to the questioned posed by the Twi'lek. She let out a low "mm" and raised a finger saying 'just a moment' as she swallowed the liquid that just entered her mouth. Taking a refreshing breath, she put a hand on the other's back and turned the two of them to look out over the hall. She pointed at her parents "They wanted to make connections." she said before turning a little to point at her older brother "And he, did too. I'm just a casualty of war." she said, raising the other hand with the glass in a resigned manner.

"What about you then, Cigrewi?" she asked, making a valiant effort at getting the pronunciation of the alien's name just right. While doing pretty good, she was somewhat distracted as she watched the display of the elevator's current floor. While they weren't very high up in the building themselves, the elevator seemed to be at the top of the building. Her eyes lingered for a few moments, wondering what could be found all the way up there - but soon, her attention was returned to her newly met friend.

A smile grew on Cigrewi's face, it was the first time she had met somebody of her 'ranking' to speak her native tongue. She watched Ines, who she could now identify as an Alderaanian pick up a cup and fill it with soda listening to her response. "They wanted to make connections." Ines placed a hand on Cigrewi's face pointing towards her parents, while the Twi'lek picked up a glass still focused on the area her newfound friend was pointing towards. "And he, did too. I'm just a casualty of war." The Twi'lek snickered, the idea of the whole connections didn't strike her as surprising, "so I'm not alone then, my parents wanted and quite frankly needed an heir. They were fine with a girl just wanted a boy, and then I came along with a pair of nice breasts too." She paused, taking a breath as she finished pouring in her drink and decorating her cup.

"What about you then, Cigrewi?" The Twi'lek rolled her eyes, "what I just stated lightly ties into that reasoning, because I came female, I need to find 'gasp' a husband so that way I can produce an heir. And because I'm soon to be of age, it's time to mingle me with my father's connections." Cigrewi took a small sip of her drink, "my father doesn't need more connections, he has too many to count, but if your parents aren't idiots, our families might get along, they don't take too kindly to fools." The Alderaanian had noticed the elevator and was interested on the top-floor, the roof. "Oh up there, that's just the roof. It has some nice views, I could bring you up there if you wanted me too."

Ines' eyebrows pinched together as she heard her how her new friend talked about herself. While most wealthy parents often had an idea of a legacy, much like her own parents did, Cigrewi's parents had to be particularly extreme - at least compared the the Panteer ones. Talking to the twi'lek did, however, bring her more joy than remorse as the other girl certainly seemed to have a rather nice sense of humour with a healthy portion of sarcasm mixed in.

The Alderaanian let out a chuckle "Perhaps they already know each other" she mused, throwing another glance at the hall. Yes, she was certainly ready to get out of there and some fresh air would probably do her good after suffocating among the pompous egos at their current location. Smiling, the noble put her hands on her waist and nodded with enthusiasm "I'd like that. Maybe we could find something more entertaining than this" she said and raised a hand to point at the fancy room "I don't know, maybe we could find some new paint and watch it dry" she joked, obviously hinting at most things being better than their current situation.

Just as they were about to enter the elevator, Ines' brother waved at her from a distance, wondering what she was doing. The girl pointed up towards the sky before taking a light and quick step into the lift. Once they were the only two inside, the taller girl put a friendly arm around Cigrewi's shoulders as they stood next to each other "And by the way, you're more than just a a pair of nice breasts" she commented, feeling like she had to get it off of her chest. Thinking of the twi'lek's upbringing made her sad if that's the kind of idea which she had been raised with. Raising a cheeky eyebrow, Ines asked "So, how good taste does your father have? He's bound to have some nice contacts, right?"

Cigrewi shuffled, she could tell her friend wasn't too happy with what she was hearing. That was reassuring yet still, it gave her a sense of alarm. What if Ines turned her down because of her little remark? The Twi'lek tried to calm herself down, and soon enough a slight smile curved on the redhead's lips. "Perhaps they already know each other" Cigrewi chuckled, "highly likely."

It was agreed,
Ines seemed perfectly in tune with the idea of going up to the rooftop. They tended to be Cigrewi's favorite places to go, you could see a lot more up there than down on the musty streets.

For the Twi'lek, the typical long walk to the lift seemed only to last a second. It was refreshing to have a friend in the same boat, she watched her redheaded companion gracefully slip into the elevator as
Cigrewi followed. There were at least two more groups in the lift, so the girls simply resorted to hushed whispers before the crowded lift emptied. It was a short few minutes in the lift with others before just the two girls were left, Cigrewi was ecstatic, she couldn't wait to show her friend the whole city. However, the Twi'lek was caught off when Ines wrapped her arm around the girl's shoulders, Cigrewi felt quite short compared to Ines now they were directly next to each other. "And by the way, you're more than just a pair of nice beats," the girl beamed, lifting up her arm and placing it around Ines' shoulder, "Thanks, you're much, much more than a casualty of war, Ines." Cigrewi focused on Ines, it made her feel guilty almost to think of being pushed down and reminded of the fact that you weren't really necessary, as even the Twi'lek probably grew up with more attention than the redhead ever had.

"So, how good of a taste does your father have? He's bound to have some nice contacts, right?" The teal girl nodded, "I'd say my father has pretty good taste. He's got that charm to him just as my mother does, which makes it easier for him. He's got plenty of good contacts too, businesses, wealth, politicians, at least a mafia. It's all in his favor with only a small price for him to pay, which most often means the man can grab whatever he wants."

Cigrewi's comment put a smile on Ines' face. It was certainly unexpected to find someone so sincere and genuine in a place such as the one they were at - the event, not the elevator - especially considering the considerable wealth that the Alderaanian assumed that her new friend's parents possessed. Still, it was the good kind of surprise and was indeed quite appreciated by the noble who had expected to be spending the night sipping from her drink whilst exchanging empty words with people she only knew on the most basic of levels.

The Twi'lek proceeded to talk about her father's taste in men. Had it been any other person at the party saying it, Ines would've thought that they were bragging as the positives of her father's network were so extensive whilst the negatives seemed non-existent. Ines started giggling and that soon turned into outright laughter, laughter which persisted through the elevator doors opening, welcoming them to a smaller room leading out to the roof. "That's not what I meant" she laughed, stepping out from the elevator and removing her arm from the alien's back.

Interrupting herself, Ines let out a quiet whistle and a "wow" as the beautiful view was perceived. Naturally, she had seen beautiful views of cities in the past, but there was always something special about each take - besides, Ines was always quick to take her opportunity in seeing something beautiful and finding joy in it. The mild breeze brushed her hair backwards, causing a few strains to flail and flutter. With a few long strides, all with the slight bounce, Ines soon arrived by the edge of the roof and leaned her belly against the top of the handrail.

Looking at the Twi'lek to her side, Ines spoke again "I meant to ask if had good taste when introducing guys for you to meet. You must have got lucky and found someone sometime, right?" her voice was curious as she looked onto the other for an answer.

  • Cigrewi watched the smile curve on her companion's face. It was relieving almost, that she was glad her friend could relax a bit. The Twi'lek moved a bit, a smile small grew for her as well, it was glad to find yet a companion that did not...seem...hollow as the people Cigrewi had met once before. They only talked about new clothing, styles, politics, all things the girl could never care for, the people downstairs were no different, empty husks of creatures.

  • It felt such a long sentence, that caused Cigrewi to take a deep breath. It was safe to assume that Ines would not take it the wrong way, for the Twi'lek felt that the lot of them were alive, well more than the other attendees. Of course, the girl was caught off guard when Ines erupted with slow-burned laughter. "That's not what I meant" Cigrewi blushed as the girl continued her laughter, she still thought the Alderaanian's was so hearty and joyous compared to the meek and soft giggle-fits the Twi'lek had.

  • Suddenly the lift's door clicked open, Cigrewi shuffled out of the way. She watched as Ines stepped out of the elevator, with a gobstruck look on her face. "Roofs are always the best here." The girl stuttered out, it was hard trying to wash off her embarrassment, the almost hot-pink blush did blend well with her teal color. Cigrewi inhaled as quickly as Ines strode out, the Twi'lek followed suit, with graceful leap-like motions in a short attempt to catch up to the redhead who was already settling herself down by a rail.
  • The Twi'lek stood by Ines' side, leaning over the railing. Staring out into the city was a dream, with its vibrant nightlife full of joy, rapture, and noise. Ships, speeders, and other sorts fled by the lights upon the street and the cool mist that hung over mixed with lights created such a beautiful strobing effect that was hard to take your eyes off of. However, the girl was interrupted by the sound of Ines clearing her throat. "I meant to ask if had good taste when introducing guys for you to meet. You must have got lucky and found someone sometime, right?" Cigrewi sighed, "I mean sure, he tries his best to find people with similar interests as mine, people who treat me well. Yet, I mean I've kinda found somebody, well they have, every single one of them...is just wrong. Because I want to meet somebody and decide for myself who I love, not given a selection of strange men to pick and choose from, it's wrong. I want somebody I've found myself, regardless of their job, gender, and anything else that comes with them."

Listening to her new friend's surrendered voice as she mentioned that her parents did do their best made Ines chuckle. Althouigh Cigrewi's case seemed to be more extreme, the Alderaanian recognised the behaviour in many concerned parents, wanting to find their child someone appropriate to spend their days with. Sympathetically, she patted the Twi'lek on the back as she mentioned how all the matches was off. Of course they were - they weren't made by the two most important parties themselves, or at least not one of them. This sentiment seemed to be reflected in what the other teen said afterwards.

Allowing her hand to linger on the alien's back for a moment, just to the side in order not to touch the lekku, Ines smiled faintly "I guess all parents have their own way of showing their love" she said and paused, soon to jokefully add "aand ambitions." With a wink and a cheeky smile, the noble turned her head to look back out over the city. Some crashing sound could be heard, but it seemed rather remote, too remote for anyone up on the roof to pay much attention to.

With a deep breath and a push, the girl created some momentum and turned around to lean her back against the rail, throwing a glance at her friend before taking a long-lasting sip from her glass. The consuming the cool liquid was not the wisest thing she had ever done as it, combined with the equally cool breeze made her body shiver. With goosebumps rising on her arms, the noble took out a scarf that matched rather well with her other apparel. Looking at it for a moment, and then at the smaller girl, she raised her eyebrows and offered the flowery piece to the Twi'lek "Cold?"

If her friend did not accept the offer, Ines would wrap the scarf around her shoulder - in any case, her hands would cross and hold her elbows "You know..." she said, trailing off as she thought she sensed a funny smell. Dismissing the smell, Ines continued "We could always take a trip to the outer rim sometime. It's a great place to go if you just want to forget about the realities of your own bubble for a while."

Cigrewi brought a small smile as the redhead chuckled. It was nice too, for once in her life have somebody who could listen and really understand at that exact point in time. The sympathy that Ines had was comforting, the Twi'lek had always thought redheaded humans and humanoids with red hair were just the same as red and reddish-orange Twi'leks. Firey tempers, blazing eyes, and a hell of an attitude, maybe Ines was the same it was just easier for her to stop it from showing.

Cigrewi released a deep breath as the Alderaanian removed her hand from the smaller girl's shoulder. "I guess all parents have their own way of showing their love." The Twi'lek nodded, however, as the redhead tilted her head and grew her signature joking smile, Cigrewi prepped herself "aand ambitions." The girl chuckled, "yeah I know, but enough about me. What about you, Ines?" The girl looked over at the redhead who was now resting on the railing.

The Twi'lek watched as Ines lifted up her drink, taking a cold sip. She couldn't help but begin to laugh, growing from giggling into complete laughter as the redhead began to realize her mistake. It was obvious the Alderaanian still hadn't fully adjusted to the temperature of the city, the redhead began digging in her pocket, piquing Cigrewi's curiosity. She watched as Ines pulled out a scarf similar to the tall teen's garment, while it wasn't the first time the Twi'lek had seen an accessory matching a piece of clothing someone was wearing, she herself had done it before with her headwrap and shirt but in her dress, with its crimson red base and jet black swirls it would look tacky with something such as a scarf. "Cold?" She shook her head, "I think you're colder then I am, you're probably not used to this kind of sudden temperature drop where you live."

"You know..." Ines began trailing off for a few seconds, causing Cigrewi to turn to the lift for a few seconds. The girl had also picked up a strange smell, however, it was probably just another fire in some alleyway, either that or the chefs downstairs are having a hell of a time getting drunk. "We could always take a trip to the outer rim sometime. It's a great place to go if you just want to forget about the realities of your own bubble for a while." Cigrewi nodded, "I'd like that sometime when we're not being forced to attend social events because our families just have to keep up their status."
