Affiliation:
Clawdite reverse engineering, made for use against the Zolanders in the ongoing civil war on Zolan. (Neutral.)

Ownership: Will be used by Infiltrator, an alt character of mine (currently in WIP phase.)

Intent: To a story extent, the prosthetics were made for Infiltrator so he would be a more effective guerilla warfighter and scout on Zolan. He grew up a child soldier, and hit and run mission were his specialty. While my intent is to use the prosthetic's primary function as a way to reinforce his hit-and-run tactics, I can see a few scenarios where it could provide potential use in combat.

Model: The prosthetics have no official name, as they were created mostly by a conjoining of engineers on the edge of battle. Over time, Infiltrator has taken to calling them his "Talons."

Position: The prosthetic attaches about three inches down from the knee and requires a surgical procedure for initial use. After the wearer becomes comfortable with it, it can be attached / detached with basic tools.

Weight: Around 21 Lbs. per unit, 42 Lbs. in total (19 Kg.)

Composition: Lacking the processes necessary for Duraplasty during wartime, the Talon prosthetics were made primarily with Bondite, bearing reinforced plates of Desh. The framing and electronics within the prosthetics are parted between the heel and toes, bound with a multiple spiral cords of Laminasteel.

Rating: Each Talon prosthetic is well rounded enough to not have any significant strengths and weaknesses. Their intention is more for utility than protection, however, they're notably lighter than most prosthetics that would protect from heavy energy / physical damage. Each prosthetic runs the risk of freezing and malfunctioning when exposed to extreme cold temperatures for too long --- when heated and calibrations are readjusted, they can once again operate.

Features:

Heel Augmentations
Slotted into the heel of each prosthetic is a grooved piston, activated by the same neural transmitters that allow Infiltrator to operate the prosthetic's movements as if it were his own leg. When activated, the piston fires out under his foot and can be used to enhance movement, turning running steps into long leaps.

Interlocking Dagger Mechanism
Each prosthetic bears a metallic chamber on the outside of each calf, in which certain daggers can be placed. When Infiltrator kicks out, the momentum of his kick opens the leg's respective chamber and the dagger slips out to extend just past his foot. This isn't linked to the neural transmitters in his prosthetics, and is an entirely mechanical process that runs the chance of failing on occasion.

How sturdy is this?

At first, not very sturdy, but I decided it was probably logical that when this character left Zolan and wasn't CONSTANTLY fighting for his life he had a chance to get in and tighten it up, haha. I'd say around the current time (with maintenance / calibrations being done after every excursion) they'd be pretty reliable. I plan for Infiltrator to pretty religiously be checking them so they operate smoothly.

Ok, and one last thing, how much of the leg does this replace? Knee-down? The whole shebang?

I'd say about 2 - 3 inches down from the knee, about the calf. You'd still have a lil' stump of a lower leg.
