DESCRIPTION
The R00M-8A Crime Scene Analysis droid is designed to work in tandem with the SP-4 unit; where the SP-4 is tasked with processing the evidence, the R00M-8A is designed to investigate the crime scene and collect it. It does so with a variety of tools, including cotton swabs for obtaining fluid samples, a Holocamera for visually recording evidence, a multipurpose flashlight for examining beyond the visual spectrum, and a lint roller for collecting hairs and other particle evidence. While the R00M-8A is highly adept at collecting evidence, it cannot verbally communicate with humanoids, requiring an SP-4 droid to connect with it wirelessly and speak for it. A datapad app called iScan has been developed in order to allow Law Enforcement officers to communicate with the droid. There is a thriving aftermarket for these droids in the home cleaning sector.The R00M-8A works slowly and methodically, scouring crime scenes on its wheels. It struggles with changes in elevation, often requesting assistance to navigate small bumps or other terrain. R00M-8A droids tend to develop a dramatic personality not long after leaving the factory, referring to such obstacles as "cliffs" and "canyons" that it needs help crossing.
