DESCRIPTION
R2-J5 was an illegally modified black-plated R2 unit turned "blastromech" droid and was the counterpart of the V-3PO assassin droid. Originally an ordinary R2-series astromech droid, R2-J5 (called "Artoo" by Veepee) was purchased by the protocol droid with the proceeds from his early bounties out of a desire for non-organic companionship. He then modified Artoo so that the former astromech droid had a similar homicidal and eccentric personality to himself and was then installed with an assortment of weapons so that it could accompany him on his various missions.To that end, Artoo is equipped with the standard load-out of a typical astromech droid, allowing him to blend in while out in public. However, in addition to his various astromech tools, Veepee has fitted Artoo with a droid shock arm, which, while reducing the blastromech droid's power cell life, allows it to tase and incapacitate its targets. He also fitted its head dome with a concealed and powerful, if not slow to reload and clunky, RK-69 micro-missile launcher. Finally, Veepee modified and fit the droid's bottom-most vent with a BM-3KF portable flame projector. These offensive modifications allow Artoo to serve as a useful complement to V-3PO when hunting bounties.
LEGALITY
Illegal. R2-J5 is a highly illegal version of the standard R2-series astromech droid. His ability to masquerade as an ordinary astromech droid means that he often avoids detection, but, should he be seen using his assassin droid talents, he could be under threat of impoundment or destruction.INTENT
