Biography

Raanil Chal, formerly Raanil 'G'enrcen'aho' Chal, was born on the chiss homeworld of Csilla.
The scion of a relatively well-off family, his parents worked as food distributors for the Ascendancy.
The chiss had a comfortable, if uneventful, life. Raanil and his brother, Vaktu, were enlisted in the Chiss Defence Force, as tradition demanded.

Raanil would probably have continued the legacy of the Chal clan until his death, had it not been for the expansion of the Sith into the unknown regions.
The Csilla authorities initially tried to ignore their unwieldy neighbours, but when the Jedi, alarmed by the presence of their ancient enemies, intervened in the system, things quickly fell apart.
Neither the Sith nor the Jedi directly attacked Csilla, in fact, both factions tried to open diplomatic channels with the Chiss, but ultimately the surface of Csilla became a battleground, with the civilian population suffering the most. Millions of lives caught in a conflict which had nothing to do with them.

In the following chaos the parents of Raanil, as well as his brother, died in a bombing while he was serving in the planetary defence force.
The young Chiss, although crushed by his losses, kept fighting to defend his people.
However, after the unavoidable fall of Csilla into total disarray, Raanil, bitter and disillusioned, left his homeworld.

For some time, the chiss roamed the galaxy, putting his fighting skills to use in criminal syndicates and various activities beyond the law: kidnappings, assassinations and spice trafficking are just a few of his past crimes. For some time, Chiss was among Grace Zann's closest associates, and helped to re-establish the syndicate.
After this dark phase of his life, Chiss was forced to sober up and in his mind, now lucid, revenge set in.
Revenge against the force users, whether Jedi or Sith, guilty of making the lives of the common people miserable.
To carry out his revenge, Raanil decided that joining the warrior culture of the Mandalorians was his best chance.
Under the guidance of Van'Aria Solus, Raanil trains to bring death to the Jedi and the Sith.
He now goes by the name of Raanil 'Nuz 'Vez' Chal, embracing both the chiss tradition of the middle name and his new mandalorian culture, 'Nuz 'Vez' meaning 'Reborn' in Cheunh.

Personality

Raanil is reserved and of few words. He mainly talks when he needs to communicate something of importance. This doesn't necessarily mean he's a loner: he is smart enough to know when to others if the job requires it.

Both his natural distrust and the fact that he belongs to a race rarely seen in the wider galaxy makes it difficult for him to fully integrate within his adopted culture, despite his efforts

Raanil feels a strong disdain for force users, and this hate keeps him going.
For some time alcohol and spice filled his nights, but now revenge has swept away his vices.

Skills

Like the majority of the Chiss, the most important asset of Raanil is his fierce intelligence. Although the alcohol chipped away at the full potential of his brain, when it's time to discuss strategy the eyes of his allies always look to him.

Raanil is also quite versed in hand to hand combat, even if he can't compete with force users, as he learned at his expenses.
Expenses which ultimately affected further his combat prowess, considering that a sith saber took one of his eyes.
Since the incident his ability with handguns grew, as Raanil finds that a far away target is less likely to end up in his blind spot.
As for his new mandalorian gadgets, he's still getting used to them and it's not uncommon for him to misuse some of the new weapons.

Raanil at the moment is able to speak in Basics, Cheunh and Mando'a

Ship

Modified Nu-class Attack Shuttle 'Black Crescent'
The "Black Crescent" is an old Nu-class model from the Clone Wars.
It is modified with a class two hyperdrive, which is quite powerful, although not the fastest on the market.
In addition to this, Raanil has also modified the armament of his ship, changing from the two twin cannons of the mandibles to two single-mouthed cannons with a high rate of fire.
In addition, a pair of rocket pods, each containing four rockets, was placed under the 'wings'.
The last change was simply a coat of paint: the ship is now painted grey and blue, with hints of yellow.

Droid

D3-Z1
An experimental astromech, D3 makes its small size its strong point.
In contrast to the more classic approach of R2s and earlier models, D3 uses its size to directly enter the ship's systems and carry out more invasive repairs. Its three legs allow it to move on any surface and climb with ease.
D3 is also armed with a light blaster, which is useful for chasing away pests lurking in the heart of the ship, mynocks, or even the occasional overly curious stormtrooper.
