Raiders..
Tattooine has always been a heap, and recently, as well as years ago the Tusken Raiders interfered with our spice delivery, go remind them why that's a bad idea.. kill them all and make a statement. Their settlements are small, and nomadic so they may be hard to find, find and eliminate at least two of them, fisticuffs are acceptable, but so is aerial bombardment. Whatever you do, make sure they know who done it..
Self-DM 2-3 participants

Rafe broke atmosphere just a few minutes ago, the suns had set over the dune sea, and the area was shrouded in darkness. Rafe flew his Blackfin-class blastboat, aptly named The Kennel, through the air, it would be a short flight, and hopefully a quick mission. He needed to eliminate two targets, two Tusken camps, he had plans to make the first one as quick as possible with an aerial bombardment, and go in a little closer for a more personal execution on the second.

Thermal sensors were up as he barreled through the skies at low altitude, over the dunes and the wasteland of sand below, he'd fine them, it was just a matter of time.

Rafe radioed to his counterpart for this chaos they were about to create, You seeing anything? He'd ask, almost pointlessly, as if they'd see anything on their scans that he wouldn't. He was mostly just kickstarting the dialog.

Sahren had only rejoined the five syndicates recently after his several-year excursion on Raxus Prime. The man was a zabrak, clad in the heaviest of armors with long dark hair and a rough beard. While his true name was commonly known to be Sahren Talovas, his reputation earned himself the nickname 'Armory', as the man's armor was outfitted with a large degree of weaponry. This would be his first true assignment in roughly three years, a simple request from the pykes. Make the tuskens show some respect, easy enough.

Apparently, the savages had been getting in the way of the syndicate's spice trade, and that just wouldn't do. This was how the mercenary found himself on a ship heading for Tattooine. Given the circumstances, Armory thought it would be a good excuse to test a weapon he had recently finished restoring, a republic-era Z-6 Rotary Blaster. A weapon like that, along with his slew of explosives, would be more than enough to take down a few tusken raiders, especially if they were lightly armored.

Not thinking much about his partner on the job, still a little sore from the loss of his master, the zabrak's head would shoot up as Rafe asked about seeing anything. "Huh, oh... Let me have a look." The mercenary would bend over a blinking radar-like device, but would see nothing on it's scanners. "Hmm. Nothing. We'll know them when we see them. Large groups are hard to hide, plus, they don't realize they're being hunted."

The Dune sea... it was hard for Rafe to believe it was once lush with proper oceans, and that the planet was once less of a skizz hole.. he'd never liked Tattooine, though there weren't many planets he did like for that matter, being born in a cargo hold probably had something to do with it..

The expanding darkness of the night made the majority of the sand piles start to look the same.. and never ending landscape of repetitive features, as if there were sitting in a speeder with one of those backgrounds that spun in the background in the old cheesy holovids. Still though, Rafe kept at it, his altitude was low, very low.. and the ship's exterior lights off, running solely on thermal and other sensors to keep the ship moving in the right direction... if you could call this the right direction..

Rafe's blood began to boil, he had come here to kill, and kill he would do... Now where ar.. the thought was cut short, Heat signatures on the next dune! Netvor, Rafe's Shistavanen co-pilot and also gunner called out. The gunner position has been taken for this mission by @Sahren allowing Netvor to tend to other duties.

Perfect.. Rafe said as he slowed the ship dramatically, bringing them in range of The Kennel's armament, Rafe maintained control over the fixed medium laser cannons, but @Sahren was working the two dual heavy Blaster turrets, this would allow him to more precisely eliminate any heat signatures in the area.

Ready? Rafe asked his counterpart, once he received the confirmation he would bring The Kennel up to the camp quickly, lighting the way with the medium laser cannons as he did, but as they were fixed, it would be @Sahren's job once they were hovering overhead, the size of the camp was decent, had to be at least fifty, if not more of them down there..

The zabrak had barely noticed nightfall was upon them. Their crew had been on the lookout for the past few hours, and any mercenary who enjoyed the thrill of the fight would start getting antsy by now. Due to the ship's external lighting being so low, both he and the other crewmen were unable to directly get vision on potential targets. Thankfully, the ship's thermal sensors were working just fine, and tuskens tended to have a bit more body heat than most other mammals.

As they soared over the dunes, Armory would hear the shouting of the ship's co-pilot. The scanners had indeed done their job, picking up on a large group of sand people in a clearing coming up soon. Strapping himself into the gunner's seat, the mercenary would quip "Go time." before gripping the heavy blaster turret's manual controls. Once their ship got in range, the next step would be simple, take down as many as the turrets could kill.

The Kennel grew closer and closer to the camp full of targets, and Sahren would decide to activate his helmet's HUD by quickly tapping the side of it. The zabrak's internal display would light up in thermal-vision, allowing him to effective look directly out of the windows towards the various tusken raiders on the horizon. The nomads' camp actually had several large fires going, which would make for easy blasting targets.

"Alright, lets light em' up!" Both of the mercenary's thumbs would press down hard on the triggers of the turrets. Though he had never been the most accurate shot with these sorts of weapons, the thermal vision certainly helped. The sound of turrets pounding would ring out through the hollow dunes, leaving many of the sand people frozen in fear or running in a panic.

Several of the turrets' blaster bolts would collide with campfires, causing small fiery explosions that engulfed multiple individuals. The camp would seemingly be devastated in a matter of moments, as the mournful cries of the sand people filled the air. Though their ship's cannons were powerful, getting perfectly accurate shots was difficult when firing from a fixed position, as Armory lacked experience in that area. More than likely, there would be stragglers from the camp. "Heh. What'd I tell ya. They never knew we were coming."

Rafe used the medium laser cannons as best he could before hovering and allowing his counterpart to begin blasting away, the whole affair was only a handful of minutes, the heat signatures all laying motionless on the sand slowly beginig to turn darker and darker.

Some of them had tried to fight back, their primitive slug thrower weaponry no match for the ship's shields, it might have been almost sad if these savages didn't have this onslaught so deservedly coming to them.. Even the camp's bantha now lay dead, thwir heat signatures slowly fading from view.

Rafe slowly turned the ship, checking to make sure none had gotten away, in seemed they had decimated the camp rather quickly, only five or six minutes or so. It wasn't a bad thing, Rafe was happy to have made short work of this one, especially since the next one would be so much slower and much more personal..

Rafe joined in the on board celebration with the Zabarak, They never stood a chance.. Rafe commented back, he already placed a death stick in his mouth, and lit it, taking a long successful drag off the thing.

On to the next one.. Rafe said before operating the ship away, the plan was to actually touch down on this second one and make sure they knew who done this to them. Eyes up everyone..

Thanks to Rafe, whatever stragglers were left quickly died in a hail of laser fire. The first phase of their mission was complete in a matter of minutes, but the second part would be a bit more challenging. They had decimated a camp, but left no name to associate with the attack. The Pykes demanded they be named, and that would be easily done if they were to assault another group, but on foot.

Sahren pulled out a rag, and propped up the large gun that had been at his feet the entire time. He would begin polishing the massive rotary blaster with the most menacing of grins beneath his helmet. "Looks like the next fight'll be on foot. I'll finally get a chance to test this baby out." He would raise the weapon a bit, looking down it's massive barrel with glee.

The mercenary had never actually faced a tusken raider in combat before, only heard stories of their savagery. If they were as vicious of killers as the rumors told, then he would practically be doing the entire galaxy a favor. "Rafe, was it? I'm not the best with words. You can leave em' the message, I'll follow your lead."

A fhtagn rotary blaster? Rafe thought to himself, Rafe liked his style, what was to come would certainly be a spectacular experience. Rafe flew the kennel a good distance further, two smaller camps appeared on the scanners, some six or seven kilometers apart.

Rafe couldn't have asked for a more perfect set up. Rafe looked forward to seeing that rotary gun in action, he set the ship down less than a kilometer from one of the camps, Netvor, keep her running.. he said as he started to depart, checking his weapons as he exited the cockpit, and made his way out of the ship.

Rafe was ready for some up close and personal, and with his counterpart in tow his boots hit the sand and he took in a deep breath, air that hasn't been recycled was always nice on the lungs, This way.. Rafe said as he started to walk off toward the Tusken camp, he planned leave none of them alive..

As Rafe crawled over the last of the sand banks before the camp came into view he scanned the area, some twelve or so tents littered the sand, probably twenty or so Tuskens if he had to guess.

Rafe looked over to @Sahren, his enormous rotary blaster at his side earning a snort and a smirk from Rafe, who held no weapons in his own hands. Receiving a nod from the man was all he needed to assure they were both ready for the ensuing onslaught.

This was the moment sahren was waiting for, and his partner seemed just as excited. Leaving a message to the tuskens, one that the syndicates were not to be trifled with. As the ship landed, he would quickly give his shiny new gun one final wipe down. There was something odd however, Rafe didn't seem to be carrying a weapon. The zabrak was unfamiliar with the Nelvaanian species, but maybe they had some kind of natural weapons they fought with? If that was the case, then this would be real interesting.

Following Rafe out of the ship, Sahren would tap the side of his helmet, switching to it's low-light vision. Perfect for seeing in the dark on a tattooine night. Set out before them were an array of different primitive tents, and fortunately their ship had yet to be spotted. The zabrak would curiously ask Rafe, "You're unarmed? Gonna let me have all the fun, or do you have a trick up your sleeve?"

Regardless of his partner's answer, Sahren would give the nod to let the bloodbath begin. As he did, the mercenary's jetpack would rocket him several meters into the air, with the rotary blaster in tow. The mercenary would raise his weapon towards the tents, and then press the trigger. What followed would be a hail of blue blaster bolts that flew across the sands and began impacting the various tents. The mercenary would continue laying down covering fire in case Rafe decided to approach the camp directly.

To @Sahren's question Rafe only snickered, the weapons in his holster and sheath would likely remain where they were, leaving his hands open and free for a more personalized approach, the weapons the Tuskens employed were primitive, their melee weapons and their old fashioned slug throwers were very unlikely to cause any sort of noteworthy damage to The Big Bad Wolf.. as his friend once called him.

The pair hadn't actually discussed tactics beforehand, or even during their approach, an oversight Rafe had commonly fell prone to, and he made a mental note to try his best in the future to not forget that part, though this was likely a mental note that would get filed away in the depths of his mind to be forgotten as well..

Nonetheless, as the Zabarak took to the skies it actually panned out perfectly, bringing all of the Tusken's attention upward at the Cloud raining down its blue blaster fire. This allowed Rafe, in his jet black armour to approach almost unseen as he ran on all fours across the sand, leaping high once within range of his first victim...

Rafe crashed on top of the first Tusken, his left claw piercing through the fabric and the humanoid's jugular, it's Tusken howel replaced by a wet gargle, using the things spine as a hand hold Rafe lifted it up and swung it crashing it onto the head of another, a vicious crack as he did so indicating the fracturing of the second Tusken's neck. Rafe's helmet, and his HUD that he needed to seen prevented him from using his massive and deadly sharp teeth to tear at his victims, but that did not prevent him from being just as lethal..

Rafe grabbed hold of his second victims weapon, a Gaderffii Stick, and hurled it like a spear, the metal end embedding itself in chest of a third Tusken.. as the blood of his three began to change the colour of the sand beneath them Rafe was already charging his fourth, his counterpart had set fire to the tents, allowing Rafe to throw his helmet back, the tether between his armour and his helmet causing it to sway down by his side, preventing it from falling to the ground, he could see now...

The immediate chaos cause mass confusion in the savages, evident by their lack of appropriate situational awareness. After a glorious leap Rafe buried his teeth into the collar of his fourth, a an audible crunch as he bit down, snapping some of the creatures bones, and leaking it's sweet and savory life nectar into Rafe's mouth... the party was only just beginning..

Finally Rafe was swung on.. the Gaderffii Stick of another colliding with Rafe blocking left arm, as it slid off of his vambrace Rafe grabbed hold of it with his left hand, releasing his bit victim to fall to the ground, and jabbed his right claw through the device that covered the Tusken's mouth, and pulled down hard, separating the jaw of the savage from it's skull, the tendons popped and the muscles tore as he did so, allowing him to pull a blood soaked claw from the Tusken's mouth as it's body went limp..

Rafe now held a Gaderffii Stick in his left hand and looked over to see how his counterpart was fairing, much of his body had become stained in the red tinge of ensuing victory. There was still plenty left, and Rafe blood was pumping faster and faster by the second, the thrill and excitement of battle upon him, Rafe let out a vicious roar, spewing some of the bits of flesh and blood that remained in his mouth around the area.

As it just so happened, the mercenary had been correct in his assumption. Rafe took advantage of the zabrak's covering fire, and entered into a vicious melee against a group of the raiders. What followed was a truly grizzly display of strength and brutality, as his partner on the job ripped them to shreds with his bare claws. The mercenary would look on speechless, as he had never seen someone fight like that before, very impressive.

Meanwhile, the mercenary remained in the air, focusing most of his firepower on the various tents. There was no telling how many of them he had managed to kill thus far, but the ones that were left began to run out of their dwellings with gaderffii sticks... Eventually, the rotary blaster would abruptly stop firing, with a puff of smoke rising from the end of it's barrel. "Ah Kirff..." the weapon overheated.

Seeing this, Armory would quickly descend from the air to the ground, just as the tuskens began to organize themselves. The group of nomads let out several war cries in response to Rafe's. In a matter of minutes, the remaining dozen or so raiders would create a spear wall, and began approaching the Big Bad Wolf. It would possibly be a pretty sticky situation, if not for Sahren having an ace up his sleeve , or jetpack in this case.

"Rafe, take cover!" With that exclamation, the mercenary would drop his rotary blaster and bend forward. The rocket equipped to his pack would then launch itself forward towards the spear wall. As one could expect, the result was... explosive. All twelve members of the wall found themselves consumed by flame and shrapnel, shouting as they either blead out or burned.

As the dust settled, the mercenary gave a sigh of relief. If they were lucky, that was the last of raiders looking for a fight. Sahren would approach his partner with a grin under his helmet. "That was some fighting. Never seen anyone pull moves like you just did... Only thing left to do is let em' know the pykes called the hit. Not sure how to leave that message though."

Jules was young by mallorian standards He had just arrived to already find that this encampment was engaged with others from the syndicate. It didn't matter much to him, he put his T 5 medium freighter in hover and allowed his Astro-Mech Droid to take control, he then walked to the open loading hatch and dropped the 50 feet into the middle of the encampment. Using the force to absorb the momentum.
Drawing his peacemakers he began shooting the sand people one at a time the heavy blasters canoeing the heads of each one. He had dropped into a depression and could see and feel the auto blaster firing more than twenty feet above him. Jules continued firing so long a they were armed with their slug throwers and the occasional blaster.
When a Tuscan Raider wearing a hooded cape presented his Gaddafi stick Jules simply holstered his peacemakers and drew his vibro-blades. He hoped this would be a challenge.

The sudden arrival of the freighter signaled to Rafe that their third member of the party had arrived, Being late is impolite.. Rafe thought.

Only a second later @Sahren's call to take cover came out, and Rafe dove sideways, his jet pack firing up, and scooting him some additional seven or so meters away before the impact happened. Rafe watched the missile explode and the limbs of the Raiders fly in various directions from it.. though Rafe had a look of confusion on his face it was not coupled with displeasure, he had in face enjoyed the show, it just wasn't something he had thought was going to happen..

Rafe regained his footing and walked back over to where his counterparts now stood, the recent arrival having just dispatched a straggler.. You're late... was all Rafe said to the newcomer, before addressing the comments made by the Zabarak, When you're told you're a monster long enough, you start to act like one.. Rafe said, ad he began to gather up the bodies and set to work sticking the various Gaddafi sticks in the sand pointed end up.. We're pykes.. we put heads... on Pikes... Rafe said with a twisted bloody smile, the play on words was comical to him as he began separating heads from torsos and sliding them down the sticks.

Yes.. Rafe muttered to himself, This aughta send a message..

Ya know, the Pykes putting the heads of their enemies on pykes just seemed to make too much sense. It would be clear who put out the hit, and even clearer who did the killing, and that was the important part. To the mercenary's surprise, a new face would join their operation at the very last minute, trying to take some of the glory no doubt. Apparently the Pykes didn't think two would be enough, oh well, things would be wrapping up soon anyhow. "Better late than never I suppose."

With the majority of the tuskens cleared out, and their severed heads littering the battlefield, all that was left was one very skilled tusken. The warrior raised his Gaddafi stick with a bit more skill than the others, and wore a hood to boot. It was a very mysterious figure indeed. It was even more curious that this particular warrior seemed confident, even though his near by brethren were so easily dispatched. Figuring that this fight would be a good show, he would stroll towards the pair with his rotary blaster strapped over one shoulder.

He would mention to Rafe, "Monster is a matter of perspective... Besides, looks like we've got front seats to a pay-per-view event." He would point towards Julis who just drew a vibroblade, about to go up against a mysterious tusken raider.

Jules could tell that the Raider would loose the moment their weapons first touched. The poor creature was quick but not fast. And while his Gaddafi stick had a longer reach it was just too slow to make a this contest any sort of a challenge.
During a momentary lull that comes in in every fight Jules re sheathed his right hand blade by simply driving the tip down in the sand. He continued sparing with the Raider always launching his attacks at its weapon. The Raider's attacks were always just short. Jules noticed that the blaster fire had stopped right before an explosion.
Injured and young had begun to crawl out of the wreckage of what had once been their camp. None appeared interested in bringing the fight. Then it happened the mistake he had been waiting for the Raider's foot was out of position. Jules changed his step up side kick into a hook kick ripping the Gaddafi stick out of the Raider's hands. Firing an immediate and brutal round kick with the same foot Jules felt the ribs snap.

The Raider fell to it's knees after a moment it looked up fully expecting to die. Lowering the tip of his blade Jules said " Leave Pyke Property Alone!' Reaching out with the Force he willed his second vibro blade into his right hand as he began walking up the embankment where the other two Pykes were waiting.

Close enough.. Rafe said as the the Morellian newcomer made its way back up toward @Sahren and himself, pulling his peacemaker heavy blaster pistol and firing a round into the neck of the kneeling Tusken, a massive chunk of the Raider disintegrated, and his body flopped to the ground, his head holding on with less than half of it's original tissue..

Rafe finished piking the rest of the Tusken's on the upright Gaddafi sticks, he had begun tossing the bodies into a central pile. While walking about Rafe would also pick up any non slug thrower weapons, an extra blaster never hurt afterall..

There's another camp, how you wanna handle it? Rafe asked the other two, his hands soaked in blood, and full of Tusken weapons, even one Gaddafi stick belonging to one of the Tusken's @Sahren had exploded.

Sahren would stroke his chin as he watched the fight conclude. The new guy seemed pretty handy with a blade, and that could be helpful when dealing with the final camp. The Zabrak would begin quickly dismantling and reassembling parts of his rotary blaster, trying to fix the jam it had earlier. Thankfully, the fix would relatively quick and easy, just as Rafe's shot landed against the tusken raider.

As the dust settled, the armored mercenary would make his way towards the pair. There was one final camp to deal with, but how should they do it. Sahren would cross his arms and give a shrug, "I still have some firepower left, so we could go on foot. If you'd prefer the ship, that'd be fine too. We already left a message after all." He would wave a hand toward the camp full of severed heads.

Deciding to give this new comer a test, the mercenary would make a suggestion "Tell ya what... New guy. You make the call." Sahren didn't much care which option he chose, rather wanting to hear the reasoning for any given choice. As far as he was concerned, their job was basically done any way.

Annoyed that his down and out opponent had been summarily executed when he had been told this was a statement mission. As he walked up the embankment he thought well maybe that they had received different orders. Shaking his head he thought, " na this is probably just their interpretation"
As he reached the top he looked at his two new companions and realized these were not the guys you would send on a finesse mission. A walking tank and a hulking mass of fangs, fur, and claws. Which he noted was currently covered in blood and gore. His companions obliviously enjoyed their work.

The walking tank then asked how they wanted to get to the third camp. Taking out his com link he called his ship and said " set her down and go through this dump, see if you can recover any of the Spice these idiots stole". Jules then looked at the Tank and said, " Foot".
Replacing the ammunition magazine in first one peacemaker then the other, Jules asked the two Pykes "so is it going to be a statement or another kill mission? "

Rafe had had mistrust of force users bored into his skull ever since a young age, his Mandalorian upbringing solidifying that in him before he could even ride a speeder.. nonetheless he was glad this one was on his side, and appeared to share a similar disinclination for the law, though clearly he afforded more mercy than Rafe would have, even the prospect of their next attack he was already asking if mercy would be shown.. who was this guy? Though even Rafe couldn't deny that a living messenger may have a more immediate effect, afterall, their current plan required others to stumble upon the work they'd done, and then also for them to live long enough to tell others and so on. @Julius Arvo's idea skipped that first step, potentially expediting the plan ahead a couple days.

We can leave two and a half witnesses.. Rafe said, he had thought it would be unlikely for all of them to die by exposure before passing along the message, and thought it would be funny to send them along with a mangled, but living victim.

With that Rafe was confident this settlement had been sufficiently torn asunder and set out toward the next one. It was a six or so kilometer walk, so they were in for it in this sand, and Rafe hated sand... he had hoped to simply throw one of The Kennel's missiles at this village and be done with it, but his counterparts wanted otherwise, and Rafe would be lying if he ever said he wouldn't enjoy the thrill of bloodletting..

After the first fifteen minutes of walking Rafe would find himself outpacing the others, a benefit of being almost a meter taller than them, Keep up would ya.. Rafe called back with a snicker..

It looks like the next battle would be on foot after all, as Julius suggested they actually leave a witness. In all honesty, that made a lot of sense, though it would no doubt be less fun. The mercenary supposed that the Pykes would be pleased either way, so it was really in his best interest to carry on with the group's decision. "Well, I gotta admit, that's a pretty good point." As before, he would sling the rotary blaster over his shoulder and begin walking toward the next camp over.

Trudging through rough sands in a heavily armored suit was certainly a factor that slowed Sahren down. Because of this, he found himself at the very rear of their troop, sweating on the inside of his armor. He would simply sigh as Rafe called for the two of them to keep up, knowing that it would be difficult to do that. "I'm comin' I'm comin'" he would respond.

The zabrak would take a moment to look ahead, seeing that they would soon be closing in on the final camp. This time, he would need to be a bit more subtle, if they wanted to leave anyone alive that was. Above all else however, the mercenary wanted to watch Rafe fight again, as he had never seen close quarters fighting like that before.

Before long, their crew would finally start getting close to the final camp. "I think this is the place. They don't see us yet... How should we do this?"

Give me a count to 300 and I will deal with any sentries and guard animals. Jules felt a little twinge of guilt about possibly having to kill the poor animals. Maybe he would just have to pick up a stunner in the future. Especially he thought since it looks like he would be with the Pykes for some time to come.

He then ghosted out towards the encampment at a speed that even Rafe would have trouble keeping up with. Jules found two sentries and a guard animal of some sort that appeared to be part dog and part lizard. He put all three down in total silence with an economy of motion.

As he waited for his companions arrival he squatted thinking to himself that he really didn't care for this style of killing. He preferred it when his opponents at least had somewhat of a chance, and presented something of a challenge.
