RAITH TARKIN'S ARMOR

Designed to evoke the imposing and threatening atmosphere given off by the Old Imperial Inquisition, Raith Tarkin's armor was designed with intimidation in mind for his role as a Sith-trained member of the Imperial Peacekeepers. Unlike most members of the Imperial military machine, Tarkin had a direct role in overseeing and designing his armor, choosing a pharaohic helmet to give him an unsettling, alienlike appearance.

The rest of the armor is designed to be light, allowing the most mobility possible while protecting vital areas of the body. The helmet in particular locks into place, preventing the Force from being used to rip it off. The suit is complete with an armorweave cape that attaches on the left shoulder and wraps around to provide torso coverage. Tarkin has stated that his armor was designed to remind Imperials and enemies of the Empire alike that he is still a Sith, even though he works with Imperial Security.

LEGALITY

Legal in places where the Sith religion is not strictly outlawed.

Type and Coverage

Type: Medium Armor

Coverage:
  • Head: Black helmet, locks into shoulder plates, made from plasteel.
  • Torso: Durasteel plates covering the upper-chest.
  • Back: Durasteel plates covering the upper-back.
  • Upper Arms: Raised plasteel shoulder plates on both shoulders.
  • Lower Legs: Durasteel plates on both knees.

Functions

Function 1: Voice Scrambler
  • For the unusually paranoid, this helmet function can scramble a person's voice to unintelligible garbage, while allowing commlink conversations to continue as normal. Alternatively, it can be used to "digitize" a voice into a deep bass tone.
Function 2: Environment Suit
  • While it is not rated for extended exposure to extreme hazards, this body suit (when combined with an enclosed helmet) can protect the wearers body from the effects of environmental and weaponized toxins and similar hazards for up to 5 posting rounds.
Function 3: Armorweave Cape
  • Most often in the form of a heavy cape, skirt, or underlay beneath armor, armor weave provides some protection against the penetrating effects of shrapnel from explosives and other unpowered high velocity impacts, with only a small amount of bleed through damage (bruising or very minor wounds). It offers no protection against kinetic impact or energy, vibroweapons, or similar "powered" weapons. Having more than one accessory (example: Cape + underweave) provides no additional effect.
Function 4: Vision Modes
  • This Allows a Helmet HUD to cycle to low-light OR thermal vision modes.
Function 5: Rebreather
  • Rebreathers allow for a person to survive underwater or in space for brief amounts of time by scrubbing CO2 from their exhaled breath. Generally this lasts for 3-4 posts, but heavy exertion can shorten that time.
