Ramail Lone was a Mandalorian mercenary and bounty hunter active in the Force Eternal era. Born on a backwater planet and raised in a fishing village near one of the planet’s great oceans, Ramail was initially destined for a much simpler life than that of a Mandalorian. As it would happen, her path was altered when war was brought to her planet in one of the numerous and ever-present disputes between warlords in the barbarian Outer Rim. In a skirmish that saw the village razed to the ground, Ramail and her brother, Rao-Jor, were found and adopted by Mandalorians from the derelict Clan Lone; few others from the village survived. Ramail, who was eight at the time, saw her family executed by the warlord’s mercenaries as she hit in the shrubs on the outskirts of the village; her brother, an infant, rested in her arms, blissfully unaware. Unbeknownst to Ramail, the Mandalorians that found her had in fact been employed by the warlord responsible for razing her village to the ground; however, when they were asked to participate in this needless killing, they refused. They fled the planet shortly thereafter, carrying Ramail and Rao-Jor with them.

Clan Lone resided in an abandoned mining colony in the Bimmiel asteroid field. There, the young Zabrak, who was fiercely protective of her young infant brother, learned over time to trust in her clan and others who lived by the customs of this nomadic race that had taken her in. The clan - one (and possibly the only) remnant of the once proliferate Clan Lone - consisted of less than twenty members at the time when Ramail and Rao-Jor were taken in as foundlings. Many died honourably in combat from then until Ramail was old enough to swear on the Creed. Ramail’s adoptive parents were bounty hunters and mercenaries. They were often gone for long stretches of time, and during these times of absence, the clan took on an even greater role as family and educator of Ramail; as were the case with all other Mandalorian children whose wardens disappeared, sometimes periodically, other times permanently, for one reason or the other.

Ramail’s adoptive parents were both strict adherents of the Mandalorian Way, and Ramail's upbringing was therefore quite traditional and brutal. It wasn't so that one was strict and the other was kind; they took turns at being the strict, whilst the other was there to pick Ramail and her brother back up if the first had treated them harsh. However, the harshness was never apologised for; a Mandalorian needed to be able to take a beating, physical and mental, in order to survive a brutal existence in a brutal galaxy. The Mandalorian Way was not the only thing her parents taught Ramail, though; from her mother, especially, the love of history, myths, legends, and stories was passed down.

After she had passed her verd'goten at the age of fourteen, Ramail started working as a bounty hunter with her adoptive parents. Most of the money they earned went to the clan, which had by that time shrunk to three families, less than a dozen individuals. With every passing year, she added new pieces of beskar, alum, and other armour pieces of different metals to her beskar'gam. A mix of colours grey, black, maroon, and orange adorn her beskar'gam, according to Clan Lone's tradition. They are earthy, harmless colours, reminiscent of the stathas reptile that is the clan's sigil. Like the stathas, the Lone's have always strived to look harmless on the surface, so as to not give away their deadly capabilities.

Ramail had a strong sense of duty to her clan, of loyalty to those that are loyal to her, of unconditional support to those she would count among her friends. She learned to trust in those who lived in accordance with the Creed and the Resol'nare, as it seemed like everyone else was hell-bent on stamping out the likes of her and what remained of the Mandalorian culture. In a galaxy where everyone competed for a place in the sun, a sense of community and supporting the tribe was what kept her clan alive. Therefore, the departure of Rao-Jor from the clan before he passed his verd'goten was rough for Ramail. She didn't understand why he chose to leave; she was the one who could remember any other life than the Way - he had been too little to remember any other existence. It came as a shock to her that he would decide to leave. She reacted poorly, and the last time they spoke before he disappeared in the masses of a busy spaceport, they fought. As it turned out, Ramail's love and support for her brother had grown conditional in one area: that he follow her example and swear on the Creed.

In the time following Rao-Jor's departure, Ramail was more reserved than usual, and whenever other clan members tried to talk to her about it, she instantly shut them down. She committed herself to her work as a bounty hunter and tried to come to terms with her brother's departure from the clan. Looking for something - anything - to make her cause, she started to work towards creating a better existence for her fellow Mandalorians.

Ramail is quite tall and stocky for her species and gender, as broad across the shoulders as the hips. She is not very agile, but she makes up for that in strength, dexterity, great bodily awareness, and intuition; she knows how to play to her strengths. Her face is oblong with prominent bone structure around the jawline and the cheekbones. Her eyes are dark and contemplative; there's always going more on in her mind than she lets on through speech. Her cranial horns are relatively small and scattered in two halo-shapes, one leading from the temples and back, another from right above her ears and back. Her black hair is long and often braided so as to easily stash it away underneath her helmet.

More a pragmatist than a zealot in her approach to life, Ramail was nonetheless a sworn enemy of the Jedi and the Sith who had taken turns to beat the once-proud Mandalorian culture into submission. Her distrust in Force-users went as far as to include anyone with a connection to that wretched mystical power, putting her at odds with members of her fellow Mandalorian clan, Clan Rytt. Furthermore, her traditionalist views could cause some discomfort with those Mandalorians that eschewed a more moderate view on what it meant to be a Mandalorian.

In spite of her conservative and some would say pessimistic outlook on her existence, Ramail was also very curious by nature – something that was often in conflict with the more conservative part of her personality. Alien cultures, foreign languages, long-forgotten stories and myths – they all called for Ramail like a bloody mind trick, and against her best judgment she tended to answer. Her curiosity would sometimes place her in situations where her staunchly Mandalorian norms were challenged. And although her mind was rarely changed, it would give her a broader lens with which to view her fellow beings of the Galaxy.
