This ornate puzzle box once belonged to the renowned but paranoid botanist and environmental scientist Randangus Cobble, who died tragically in his own lab five years ago when one of his pet projects exploded. A gift from a childhood friend, this possession in particular was one of the scientist's favorites, and one that would be familiar to those select individuals who came into close contact with him during his lifetime.

Unless he was traveling off world, the box was always placed in a prominent position on his mahogany desk or near by on a side table. Fashioned from seasoned linden wood, this puzzle box was carved by hand and embelleshed with real gold. An expensive gift for anyone, particularly for a child. An unforthcoming and taciturn man, Ranangus Cobble never shared the details of his childhood or the name of the giftgiver.

Since his passing, the estate of Randangus Cobble has been in probate. This puzzle box was recently discovered hidden behind a secret compartment in the scientist's mahogany desk and will be put up for auction at the estate sale. It has yet to be opened, contents currently unknown.

To provide an artifact/vessel for my senator Cassian to acquire here, the first step in a storyline I am working on for Onderon.
