DESCRIPTION​

The A180 blaster is a modular blaster manufactured by BlasTech Industries. It is a highly versatile design which can be easily reconfigured into a blaster rifle, sniper rifle, or ion launcher depending on the situation. Used during the reign of the Galactic Empire, one of the pistol configured variants was wielded by Jyn Erso. Sniper variants of this weapon were a common sight amongst the Resistance as well, boding well to the needs of the Resistance as a light, agile force that was capable of rapid adaptation to different threats.

This blaster is easily configured on the fly into it's many variants. Because of this versatility, it is popular amongst bounty hunters and nomads, as it is so easily changed that it can done mid combat within a few seconds, if one has the conversion parts on hand.

Requiring a manual reload between each shot, the ion launcher variant was designed to take on light armor and hovering aircraft, dealing roughly the equivalent damage of a single medium laser blast from a starfighter. This means that often times, it requires upwards of 4 rounds to outright destroy targets such as TIE fighters or X-wings, while it may only take 1 or 2 shots to disable or destroy a speeder. If faced with an enemy walker such as an AT-ST, the launcher might need to hit the target as many as 6 times before the walker is destroyed. However, any number of rounds is likely to at least cripple some capability of the vehicle, or at least jar the occupants significantly enough to throw their targeting systems off.

To compensate for the relatively low strength of it's anti tank capabilities, resistance fighters often fired the A180 ion launcher in volleys to maximize their effects.

With that being said, despite being highly lethal against personnel if it manages to hit them directly, the ion round moves slower through the air than a conventional blaster bolt and is relatively easy to dodge by simply jumping to the floor. An indirect hit via splash damage against most targets will simply result in some light burns and shrapnel damage.

Additionally, Rasha's weapon features an integrated macroscope and autosteady gyro-gimbals that drastically helped with balance and sighting

LEGALITY​

Legal. Ownership of blasters is not restricted in most of the Galaxy, however openly carrying such a weapon in public might be on more "civilized" worlds. On less civilized worlds, it still might draw unwanted scrutiny.

You mention the E-11 as being superior to this but the stats don't reflect that really. 200 shots is definitely too much for a sniper blaster if that's what you are trying to make.

The weapons section of the tech rules has the details of what kind of blaster should have what kind of pros and limitations.

The DLT-20a is an existing long blaster that is medium damage. It might make a good baseline for a sniper blaster.

Not going for a sniper at all, just a long barrel hunting rifle. More functionality and connection with the weapon vs power and distance.

Understandable. If you just want a normal self-defense blaster write up then you’ll probably want to make it inferior to the 11 in terms of stats if it is meant to be inferior in the lore. Make sure to also read the gentech sticky.

The LD-1 target rifle is a rifle in the universe, I am only trying to have a weapon that fits with a character that enjoys taking things apart. I'm open to what I can do to make it all work but a basic blast is not what I'm going for nor a super sniper rifle. Just a hunting rifle that is more fitting than a one off weapon, its not rare just simply not looked for often. It's not strong or weak, simply enough to put down a creature or hit a target at long range.

Damage can be said as medium and medium stun then. Looks good in my book. As for size...looks about as big as a cycler rifle. Most rifles require two hands anyways. But if it shooys beyond optimum range whay happens? Does it drop from medium to light? I’d maybe just have taken all the stats of the E-11 and just lowered them a little and make them inferior. I think that’s what Auto is asking, maybe.

So, just jumping in to help out @Strycnine but fandom/wiki is not a source of tech here. weapons/armor/ships/droids .etc .etc would need to be submitted through in unapproved tech first. Even if it is canon, and especially Legends. Tech rules can give more insight

Alright so I reworked it to fit a A180. This fits the idea I'm going for with a hobbie but functional gun.
