Excerpt · Biography · Personality and traits · Abilities · Equipment · Roleplays

Silas grew up in the Jedi Order when the fighting between the Jedi and their exiled brethren was at its height. Unable and unwilling to follow the Jedi's prohibition on love and relationships he was exiled. While most others exiled from the Order fell to the Darkside, Silas roamed the Galaxy while still holding onto the Jedi Code and many of the Order's philosophies.

Struggling to find meaning and purpose in his post-Jedi life, Silas has become a bit of a wonderer, helping those he comes when he can, but never settling in one place for too long.

Biography

You have failed to turn away from the path, when your fellow Jedi has. You have let your attachment to her outweigh your commitment to this Order. You continue down a path that will lead you and those around you into oblivion. It is for this reason you are exiled from this Order.
-Quote from the Trial of Silas Rin

Silas knows little about his origins and nothing of his family before being brought to the Jedi Order. He was able to discover that he had been born on Coruscant and the Jedi had found him in a crowded orphanage in the lower levels. Silas remembers nothing before his time in the Jedi Order due to young age he had been discovered.

As a youngling, Silas learned quickly but his over inquisitive nature often got in him in trouble. He would poke and prod every lesson with questions that he became a bit of an outcast among his fellow younglings. Soon, he was only given to the most patient of Jedi to train with. These Jedi challenged Silas in a way he had not been before which caused him to prosper. As he progressed he began to show an aptitude for both the blade and the usage of the Force. He continued to question Jedi Philosophy constantly, refusing to accept any knowledge blindly.

At the age of 14, he was promoted to Jedi Knight along with many other young Jedi. With more privileges and the lack of a Master to hold his questions at bay, it was not long before Silas began to question the Jedi ways more and more. He agreed to the Jedi Code and the base Jedi Philosophies, but many of the more recent practices of Jedi Practices, especially those surrounding the war troubled him greatly. Where he searched for answers, he only found more questions and soon found himself not trusting the Jedi Council.

Of the traditional Jedi Philosophies, Silas never accepted the prohibition on close personal attachments. Longing to fill the void of never having a family, Silas wouldn't accept he was meant for a life without love and deep bonds with others. Filled with the hormones and stubbornness of youth, he soon fell in love with a fellow Jedi named Lydia. Over the next number of years, they would hide their relationship with one another, and while carrying out the Orders given to them by the Jedi Council.

As their relationship grew, it became harder and harder to hide. They would often talk of leaving the Order and settling on distant worlds, but both of them loved their place within the Jedi Order. The need for both Lydia and his Order was a constant burden to Silas. It was not long before their secret was uncovered. They were both brought before the Jedi Council separately to answer for their disobedience to the Order.

Silas argued his case and refused to back down from his belief in personal attachments and love. He was strengthed by the fact that he believed Lydia would be there for him as the inevitable verdict came. It was only after the trial, he had been told she had thrown herself at the mercy of the Jedi Council and had sought another chance within the Jedi. Not allowed to seek her out, Silas was stripped of his lightsaber and banished from the Jedi.

Heartbroken and homeless, Silas made his way out into the Galaxy. The next years would be spent wandering from one place to another. He continued to hold fast to the teachings of the Jedi, often being mistaken as one as he offered help to those around him.

The only thing keeping the emptiness he feels from overcoming him his constant movement around the Galaxy and his eternal search to find the home and family he had never had.

Part II

It was not long before Silas found his place on Coruscant, a rundown Orphanage on the brink of closing. He spent the next four years rebuilding he Orphanage and dealing with the day to day struggles of living in the mostly criminal run lower levels of Coruscant. He found purpose in taking care of the children and soon they had neared capacity for the building. Money was the most limiting factor when it came to expanding and moving the Orphanage to a more safe location.

He settled into a routine until it was nearly all torn away from him when he was approached by a Shistavanen Exile in search of Force Sensitive children. Silas was able to repel the creature barely causing him to flee to find easier targets. A week later, he was approached by a Jedi Knight, Ralaa Talus, who had been tracking the Shistavanen in search of several younglings the Exile had kidnapped. Agreeing to help her, Silas introduced the woman to a local crime boss, Mako.

With Mako's intel, they tracked the Exile where they defeated the Shistavanen and rescued the group of apprentices he had been gathering. They returned to Coruscant, only to be betrayed by Mako. After a fight, Ralaa killed to the gang leader, but not before he could order an attack on Silas and his Orphanage. Silas got all of the children out of the fire caused by Mako's thugs, but not before receiving serious injuries to himself.

Recovering from his injuries, he now knew he needed to get off of Coruscant. Making contact with an old friend on Andara, Silas and Ralaa traveled to world to begin setting up a new home for both him and his children.

Personality

Silas is compassionate to a fault and has an almost complete inability to help those in need. The constant strain of solving the problems of others is extremely rewarding to him, but also very taxing.

His stubbornness and inquisitive nature have and no other source of influence has led him to overestimate his knowledge and wisdom in the ways of the Force. He constantly makes mistakes, which has been his biggest source of knowledge in his post-Jedi life.

Underneath the caring, compassionate surface lies a rather deep sense of emptiness and loneliness. Never quite getting over his love for Lydia, he struggles to fill the void of the love he felt during his last days in the Order.

Abilities

While no longer in possession of one, Silas is skilled in the use of a lightsaber. He also has a slightly above average skill in the use of blaster pistols but has focused on the use of a staff in his years after leaving the Jedi. Years of combat missions have given him the ability to stay calm in combat and focus on the task at hand.

Over the course of the last years, Silas has greatly improved his abilities in the Force. He has mastered the arts of telekinesis and many of the more "basic" applications of the Force. Through study, he has begun to build his skills in advanced skills such as Pyrokinesis.

Notable Skills:
*Force Healing
*Pyrokinesis
*Force Light
*Force Flash

Equipment

Constantly on the move, Silas does not have many belongings. He carries a solid wooden staff that he uses as a walking stick or weapon if need be. He carries a hidden and mostly unused Blaster Pistol.

His only form of protection comes in a plain colored and weathered armored cloak

He uses a basic, and slightly run down Light Freighter to traverse the Galaxy.

BIOGRAPHY
Alex was born on Coruscant to parents that were never really around to begin with. From the earliest of ages, he had rely on what he could find and the help of others to survive. His parents would be gone for days at a time, until they just never came back. Whether they died or just abandoned him he would never know.

He spent several weeks on the streets, trying to find anything to eat or sleep. He stumbled into an elderly woman by the name of Nan who promplty took him in. She ran a home for children like Alex, and soon he was thriving. Even though they still lived in the slums of Coruscant, they had a realtivley safe home. Soon a younger man by the name of Silas took over running the home. Silas clicked with Alex as he did most of the children there. It was Silas who would encourage his new found love for tinkering. He had bought him a broken and mostly torn apart droid which Alex would spend the next years slowly re-building. He liked their home on Coruscant. He had friends, he belonged, life was good.

Things changed when they all moved from Coruscant to Andara. Silas began training some of the older children, including his friend Loa in combat skills and the ways of the Jedi. Alex had begged to be taught as well, but was told that he didn't have the ability to perceive the Force as the others had. While Silas assured him that didn't mean there was anything wrong with him, he struggled with feeling left out and less than. Learning to deal with the fact that he would never be like some of his friends, and only years away from being on his own, he struggled with finding his own place in Galaxy.

Personality
Alex likes to think he is more mature than he actually is, but still clings somewhat to childhood. He is kind and cares for others, especially the other kids who live at Sanctuary.

He is extremly smart and loves tinkering with droids and other technologies. Many would, and do think of him as bit of a nerd. He is quiet and will shy away from confrontation. He follows the rules, and becomes uncomfortable when he is pressured into breaking them.

Like many his age, he struggles with finding his own identity and where he fits into the grand scheme of the Galaxy.
Skills
Alex has no combat skills, but has shot a blaster a handful of times with Silas.

His true talents lie within his mind. Alex is smart, and a good problem solver. He has a knack for understanding technology and can often deconstruct/reconstruct things given enough time.
Gear
  • Various Tools
  • Commlink
  • Datapad
  • Half Completed Protical Droid - Nicknamed Trip due to the droids knack for tripping over its own feet
  • Old Speeder - Has fixed to the point of being barely functional, most of the time.
