Blah blah boring stuff blah blah... We're all in this together.

And as my "suggestion",

I nominate myself as Chief of Badassery.

We need one of these.

Semi-serious actually. I think that Rebels attempting to capture and clear a SSD would make for an epic series of threads with our Empire friends.

Yes, series. These things are huge, it'd have to go in stages.

I am of the opinion that a Rebel chat on skype might help increase activity around our lovely faction that is currently hindered by a lack of communication. Just thought I would voice this observation here for you lovely folk.

A rebel chat already exists. Just saying.

Yup. And it's pretty dead...

Personally, I'm not hugely fond of the big group chats. While there tends to be a fair amount of activity in them, it kills rather than creates actual forum activity, and most of it is just off topic chatter anyway.

Am I wrong?

It worked pretty well for the Waste Rangers actually.

This is very much true, not really a great deal of faction relevant talk in those chats. Most of it is pointless spam. A chat isn't really the solution to a lack of activity.

I'm sending a couple invites, since it's something that already exists. If anyone else wants to be added let me know on Skype- please remember to identify yourself. Now, what I don't like is having a bajillion notifications every time I pop open my laptop, so keep in mind that I turn notifications off on these group chats, so they are never the best way to get a hold of me. If it's just full of spam I'll probably just ignore it entirely. Also, please don't let it become the preferred alternative to posting here. If you come up with a great idea on Skype, awesome- make a thread for it.

That said, I'm willing to give it a chance at revival.

As Sid pointed out about the Waste Ranger Skype chats there was a lot of spam in them. I was part of that chart group for sometime, but the thing is it got irritating and depressing with the way how it was abused. I hope the new proposed Rebel chat group would not become like that, but all the same it will a lot to convince me to be part of it considering past experience.

So rebels using the rebel chat to chat with rebels is spamming the chat? Interesting, did not know that was what spamming was in reference to. For some reason I was thinking advertisements and trolls.

Well, it was worth a shot I guess.

As far as suggestions go, I think we should start working out the details of our next Empire interaction thread. We've got a lot of side story mission packs, but not a whole lot of stuff dealing with who we're actually supposed to be fighting against. Reckoning was solid and we should try to keep the ball rolling IMO.

Yes, rebels talking to rebels about stuff that has nothing to do with the faction is considered spam considering the intent of the chat. I do believe the faction chats were built to allow easier communication among members to facilitate story planning, finding people to do threads with and generally discussing how to improve the faction.

Perhaps it's better to look at the chat group as a place to build camaraderie. For new people joining the faction it's though to get into threads and become active. Once they've made a few friends though, it becomes way easier. Let's face it, it's ton's of fun to write with people you get a long with. I was part of the waste ranger chat. It worked because we all talked had fun. Duke would drop mission idea's or ask opinions and we all got to help build the faction together. I mean that's the point isn't it? Working together as a community of writers to create something awesome?

This is just my two cents. I'd really like to see some awesome stuff come out of the rebels. I think the chat is a step in the right direction.

Spam, in the context we meant, is all of the irrelevant off topic chatter. You get pages and pages of stuff that doesn't matter, which buries the important stuff and makes thing impossible to reference. Then you've got people like me who (until very recently) don't have the greatest hardware and the simple act of opening the chat to clear all the notifications crashes the computer.

There's nothing wrong with chatting each other up about random stuff, I'm just of the opinion that there are better places for it. A Rebel chat room should primarily be for talking about Rebel things.

Once I get up to speed on things that are already in the pipeline I'll keep you guys updated. Reckoning was intended early on to be sort of our Big Bang entrance into conflict with the Imperials, and we did that. I am shopping around ideas, so there should be some small scale stuff soon.Things can only get harder from here.

That said, it would be nice to see some activity in some of the "Rise" saga missions. Those missions are focused on gaining various footholds for us- something we're currently very limited on. Establishing bases and strongholds should be a priority, if not necesarily the only priority. If you guys wanted to make things more difficult you could always modify a mission to include Imperial opposition. Feel free to write an adjustment and get with leadership about it.

Very well, tomorrow when I get done replying to my threads I'm gonna be dedicating a few hours to thinking of ideas for missions. I'll drop them into the chat and see if anyone has any thoughts or opinions on them once I get inspired.

Tomorrow I'll put some work into solidifying a few ideas of mine so they're presentable then it's discussion time.

Just curious and throwing ideas around here.

Training is something that has always been sort of hit and miss around here. Strictly speaking, it's not in any way necessary. That said, is it something you guys would like to see more of?

I think it would be a good way to get activity going. Run a few mock battles or whatever with the active rebels and see if we can spark interest. And if not we can still work on building up our camaraderie and IC friendships.
