Reading through Wing's thread, I realize that I have been wrong on a great number of things, and that there is as much proof for god as their is against if you just believe. I want to find out a different way of life, but I dont know which religion to choose. Ideas?

As I told Wing, look around for yourself, and look for a religion you can relate and connect with.

Honestly, Argi, I am a 'Christian'. I don't believe half the stuff that is preached though and in the Bible and stuff. I don't believe there is a Heaven or Hell.

So I would have to go with Mulluns and say none. I don't think you need a set book of rules or a set 'religion' to believe things.

Does that make any sense?

Alternatively you could compose your own theories on the divine and follow that. It worked for me.

That is kinda what I do...although...I kinda don't believe in anything right now. My parents (preachers) say I am going through 'the questioning' stage and I will grow out of it after college. I just shrug...who knows what will happen.

I follow the food-god Xun. He feeds me, and that is all I need as an answer to all life and even existence itself.

I just left that today. It was a five hour thing, apparently I wasn't the only one leaving. I didn't go to the LDS church yet, cause I want to look around some more before I do, so this is my first official post as an Atheist.

You're NOT an Atheist... Atheists don't believe in a higher power. You do. Thus, you are NOT an Atheist.

And Agri, if this thread is serious, then I'd suggest Hinduism or Buddhism. If you decide to go the lines of GR1M, then I'd say I'd look into the beliefs of the above two religions. They're very understanding of opinions, and some sects have even tried to rationalize Evolution and incorporate it within their teachings.

Atheists are also people that are not aligned with a religion at the current moment. Also, what are the Buddhist holy texts? I already read the Book of Mormon, I guess I can look into Buddhism.

No, that would be an agnostic.

And the Buddhist texts... You want me to name them all? There's like, hundreds...

The main one is the Tripitaka(There are many versions of this.) which is considered the canonical words of Siddhartha Gautama, who was the founder of Buddhism.

You're agnostic right now, Wing. Agnostic basically means "shopping for a God".
