It had been two whole years since Oren had even touched a lightsaber, let alone found himself in anything that represented a mission. Yet, he always knew that the day would come when he would have to get back to his duties--legally of course. Part of his plea agreement with the Sector Rangers had been community service, which entailed working with Sector Rangers on various jobs or missions, to see how the law should properly operate. He didn't mind the idea, and welcomed it openly. His goal had been all along to build good relations with these people, though his little stunts had probably put his Jedi friends in a tough predicament.

He still wasn't ready to face his friends and comrades, hell it was still taking him some time to get readjusted to going somewhere freely, and without the scrutiny of a guard. He knew it was going to take some time to get back to the swing of things and he secretly hoped that this would be the start of finding his feet again. The Jedi Master found himself on the Ring of Kafrene, hunting down the bio-terrorists he was searching for two years prior. Dressed in a typical smugglers attire, with his lightsaber hidden away in his jacket and a stun blaster on his side, he was all ready to start making things right, he waited for his Ranger contact, unknowing that it was going to be his biggest fan in all of the Core Worlds.

Truth be told, Trys had entirely forgotten about the Jedi she had arrested two years back. What was his name? Orange? Oreo? Who knew. However, when she learned she was going to be stuck with him for the community service portion of his punishment, she was incensed. Trys had tried to protest, but the rationale was that she had brought him in, and that meant that she could subdue him if needed.

She chewed on her lip, half considering not even showing up. How much trouble would she really get in with work? In the end, she sighed and made her way over to where she knew he’d be. Trys couldn’t imagine he would be any more thrilled about this than she was, and that actually made her feel slightly better.

Upon landing, Trys made her way over to him where he had designated the meeting spot. She was in a leather jacket, pants and boots – regular civilian look. A cigarra hung from the corner of her lips, her hands stuffed in her pockets. He would sense right away she wasn’t exactly pleased to see him. She could make out his face, and it looked as if he had faceplanted asphalt and had been dragged a few meters by a speeder.

“So what’s the story here?” Trys drew in from the cigarra, blowing out a puff of smoke as she looked out ahead of them, “I can’t tell which one of us is being punished…me or you.”

Oren had always felt that the Force had a cruel sense of humor, it often challenged ones in ways that forced them to reluctantly grow. Even if the master understood this, it was easier said than done, and when he saw the familiar face of Officer Trys approaching him, it all went out the window.

A slight scowl would form on his face, as he let out an audible huff, luckily for him it seemed she didn't want to be here as well. His robotic hand would rest in his jacket as he pulled himself off of the pillar, slightly uncomfortable with the situation at hand. "Well..." He tried to think of something to follow up her witty comment, but he was never quite good at such things, so his words fell into an awkward silence for a few moments.

"Before my arrest, I was looking into a bio-terrorist organization,"
he would remove his cybernetic hand to display it to the woman, "They contaminated shipments of spice on Utapau, turning the whole lower city citizens into rabid sick individuals with a nasty yearning for eating body parts." Hopefully she would pick up on what he was getting at.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, myself and another Jedi were forced to leave the area. I had tracked them down to Nar Shaddaa, but was arrested before I could find their leader." He'd say with a sigh, "While I was serving time, I caught wind tat they relocated here and are planning their next big attack..so we head into the lower quarters and ask around, and hopefully we can stop these people before they do something drastic."

He just wanted to get on with the mission, get it over, and be on his merry way. He really hoped she wouldn't armchair commander him, but knowing the interactions they had, he was preparing himself mentally for the barrage of snide comments. Of all the people in the galaxy, this is the one they assign to me...

Rabid people that wanted to eat body parts? Trys grimaced as she looked down at his cybernetic hand. He literally had his hand chewed off? And he was back at it to keep pursuing the same people? For some reason, Trys wasn’t the least bit surprised. She had no intention of having her face eaten, and Oren looked like he was eager to be self sacrificing. This worked just great for her.

“All right, you can lead the way,” She nodded, motioning for him to start walking. If they were going to be eaten, he could get mauled while she booked it. She had no intention of telling him what to do, and she would tag along and help where needed. Trys had never been on Kafrene before, and she looked around at all the architectures around her. The station was dark and grim, and it gave her a sinking feeling that they would run into trouble shortly.

She was already uneasy, “You know there’s a high chance we run into people eating zombies again, right?” Trys muttered quietly, drawing in from the cigarra to calm her nerves. She had never come across such a thing, and she wasn’t quite sure she was ready to face them. Trys needed to find a blaster that actually killed – would a stun gun even work?

Homeless people stared at them as they walked, their gaunt faces haunting and their gazes vacant yet piercing. Trys was used to seeing similar things in the poor districts of Coruscant, but there was something very off-putting about the people here. There were rumors that many people here were mining against their will – that they were actually slaves. It was difficult to tell workers from those that were forced into it at first glance.

A slight smirk would form on the near human's face as she peered down towards his cybernetic hand, it had been a grueling endeavor, but it felt like decades prior. He could feel the unease through the force and in the dingy asteroid port, it felt strange being on the hunt again after all this time, to be among the people of the galaxy and simply living and breathing.

The pair would make their way through a crowd of various aliens and humans, they were dingy and dirty, many of them he could imagine were slaves like he had once been. His lone functioning eye would peer back towards the woman, as she spoke, her words betrayed her emotion, "There could be a chance we do, yes." He would say with a smile, "But, you did take down a Jedi Master...so zombies should be simple, right?" He would turn back with a slight chuckle.

His eye would shift over the buildings, catching the signage for a dingy cantina with had a flickering image of twi'lek dancing across the entrance, this was their meeting place. He knew a few contacts from his time in prison liked to gamble and trade smuggled goods here, someone here would be willing to help, there were only a few scoundrels and gangsters he hoped wouldn't be present. Let's see what the force has instored for us.

"Do you want to do the talking or should I...officer?" He let the trailing word hang in the air, if they were going to be stuck together, he wanted to have a little bit of fun.

Trys rolled her eyes at his comment about taking down a Jedi Master, “I hardly have to do anything. Most of the time you’re likely to kriff yourself over,” She had gotten a vague understanding of his bizarre, monastic personality. That was exactly what made his slicing up legs with a saber so oddly out of character.

She looked up at the cantina, taking in sight of the flickering image. This meant there would be potentially some topless girls dancing inside. Trys finished up the cigarra and tossed it aside, “Sure you wanna go in there? You might have a stroke,” The guy probably hadn’t seen real boobs in his life.

When he mentioned doing the talking, Trys gave him a dirty look, “Don’t call me officer out loud, you dolt,” She said, looking around, “And you can do the talking. Just avoid the mindkriffing tricks if you can help it,” Trys grumbled. He would notice she was much more laidback out here and away from the HQ. When she was undercover, she behaved much more like a regular civilian.

Trys walked into the cantina, immediately hit with thick plumes of smoke. She could faintly smell some spice, and she looked over to make sure that Oren hadn’t passed out or something. She could see some girls dancing on stage - sure enough scantily clad and others topless. Trys was desensitized to this and she only hoped Oren wouldn’t blow their cover and start hyperventilating.

“Anyone we’re looking for in particular?”

Oren tilted his head slightly, as she scolded him over the officer comment, it didn't really cross his mind that they were walking right into the criminal underbelly, it probably wasn't great to advertise such things. He couldn't really do much, but chuckle awkwardly, as his lone brown eye closed. "Oh..yeah, sorry about that." He would turn towards the door, shaking his head as she made a snide comment.

"You might want to brush up on your history, we're allowed to look at these things," he'd smirk as he stepped into the dingy and expansive club. The order didn't really have restrictions against it, as long as it didn't become possessive. But, maybe she was force sensitive and could read minds, or maybe just came across as a virgin--probably the latter.

He would slide his way through the crowd, his lone eye drifting over a few of the topless dancers, and his good eye widened a bit a toothy smile stretching across his face as she peered back towards him, "Hey now, the Force doesn't lie."

Focus...we have a job to do, he'd take a deep breath as he peered around the scene. "I think I see them over there." He would push himself past a few Trandoshans and towards a table where a set of cards were being played. A whole score of people were gathered around a dozen or so players who sat huddled over their cards, but there was one face that stood out from the crowd.

A raggedy looking smuggler sat center stage, with sharp blue eyes and a raggedy First Order's Officer cap, his graying brown beard was thick, and he had a laugh that seemed to carry through the noisy club. "So I told the guy, you throw in the pack of Ansion Pale Ale and a twi'lek stripper, and you'd have a deal." It seemed he had only caught the tale end of the story, but that didn't matter--the scoundrel's eyes shifted towards the two newcomers.

"You two timing, magic dealing, son of a Bith," the man would stand up, holding out his arms, revealing a matching tattoo that covered Oren's exposed left forearm. "They finally let you out of the join eh? Come..join us." He'd say, hinting that there was more to their relationship than was being let on.

The smuggler would peer towards Trys with a soft purr, "Zapa, that's not a bad catch," he'd hold out for the officer's hand, "Got a name, good looking?" Oren would turn towards his Trys, the color on his face draining slightly. This isn't good. He had to think quick, and knew this probably wasn't going to go well.

"Yeah, this hottie, I picked up on Naboo, let's say she knocked my lights out." He'd smirk, the markings on his face began to pulse red with awkward emotion.

Trys was happy to see he was still standing and didn’t have a panic attack. She even saw him stealing a few glances at the girls, and she was moderately impressed that he wasn’t uptight as she believed. Trys continued walking after him, “I’m impressed you’re not trying to dramatically rescue those girls from their lives of scum and villainy,” She said as she passed by an attractive twi’lek waitress and gave her a wink.

When they came across the smuggler, Trys was even further surprised at seeing the exchange. She didn’t miss the similar tattoos both men had, and she realized that Oren perhaps had his own alter egos. She wondered how much more there was to this guy that she had believed to be about as vanilla as one could get.

She was distracted from her thoughts when the smuggler spoke, and she gave him a blank stare, not shaking his hand, “Yeah, I do have a habit of making people just fall head over heels,” Trys flashed a smile at the smuggler, and he’d pick up on the fact that she was one step away from potentially stabbing him. Being a former criminal herself meant she knew when to give off the vibe of someone you didn’t kriff with.

“How’s the spice trade been lately?” Trys said, looking around, “From what I smell walking in here, it’s cheap, disappointing shit,” She took a seat, easing into the role. Trys flagged over a woman to bring over drinks, deciding that there was no harm in some play sprinkled in with work.

A wave of relief would run over the Jedi as Trys played along with his little ploy, and it seemed that she was a completely different person in the more uncivilized portions of the galaxy. Oren hadn't always been this way, but two years in prison would do it to even the most bookish person, into somewhat of a roguish character. If it gets the job done, and I don't have to resort to the force, then this is okay in my book.

Oren would peer towards Trys and the smuggler, as he slid his arm around his old cell-mate, "This is Elom Nymm, one of the best pilots this side of the galaxy," his eye would shift towards the man with a smirk, "But, also one of the worst line cooks in the Coruscant Detainment Center!"

He would hold up his left forearm that held the inking, Elom doing the same. They both had a suspect set of ink that outlined and shaded a Rancor which held up a sign reading, CDRC C-BLOCK in basic, and on the forehead of each was inked in small lettering, Outsiders Club. The tattoo's lining was decent, but the design and idea was only something you'd find from inside the walls of the prison. The things you do to survive, don't blame me.

He would turn back towards Elom, "Lee Farno said he was going to be here...Have you seen him?"

But, it seemed the smuggler wasn't that interested in seeing his old, friend, and instead brushed past him and wrapped his hand around Trys and the waitress who placed a set of drinks down in front of the officer. "Two lovely ladies here," he'd grin, turning his back on Oren completely, with little care for the sign of aggression that she had shown moments earlier.

"Oh baby, it's just the low timers in here smoking up the kriff cargo. Say, you two care to join me on my ship for a little fun? Smoke a little, and I can tell you about how old Oren here ratted me out to the guards?" The man would peer back towards the Jedi with a fire in his eyes. Oh Kriff...he still remembers that.

Trys observed all the tattoos, and she wondered just how much she could trust Oren. Wasn’t he supposed to be a Jedi? Like one of those super good guy monk types? Here he was comparing tats with some common street thug, and she had to shake her head. These damn Force users never made any sense, and Oren found new ways to frustrate her.

To make matters worse, the stupid smuggler was entirely too keen on her. He pointedly ignored Oren and his attempts at questioning, and he wrapped his arms around Trys and the waitress. Trys didn’t hesitate, reaching back to pry his hand off her as she stared at him, “I wouldn’t want to forget my poor boyfriend over there,” She said, making Elom look back at Oren. If Oren looked at Trys then, her expression would clearly state she wanted to kick his teeth in for getting them into this stupid mess.

“But, we would love to join you on your ship,” Trys said with a grin as she took one of the drinks and threw it back, slamming the empty glass down, “Maybe your buddy Lee Farno can join us there,” She smiled sweetly, and it appeared to be convincing enough.

She passed by Oren as she walked, hooking her arm through his as she spoke through gritted teeth as they followed Elom “I’m dragging you into any bullshit you get me into. You don’t get a hall pass.”

Okay, maybe showing off the ink wasn't the best option.. His lone eye would narrow, as a soft sigh escaped from his lips. It was totally clear that she wasn't really enjoying the night in this bottom rung night club. To make matters worse, Oren could see the discomfort on her face as the smuggler wrapped his arms around her, getting a bit too close. His hand hesitated for a moment as he watched her try to push a hand off of her shoulder.

She gave him a glare, that made the near human want to shrivel into a ball at that moment. Why do I always have to deal with the strong headed women? Whatever she said to Elom seemed to work, and he felt her hook his arm as she passed. The Jedi master would reluctantly get up, following behind the smuggler and his groupies.

"Yeah..well you started this one," he'd sigh, "You just invited us onto the ship of a few men I snitched on during my time in the clink?" He'd peer towards the man, and then back to Trys, "And before you say anything, yes that was very Jedi of me, but these guys are the biggest scumbags I've met..." He was cut off as a loud voice cracked out in front of them.

"Hey Hey! You having a good night?" Obstructed by the group in front of them, was a portly man with greased back black hair and a thick black goatee. He was decked out in vibrant in your face jewelry, that swayed with his sluggish movements. He had two women wrapped around his shoulders--it seemed every no name thug on this rock saw themselves as a big shot pimp.

"That's Lee Farno, Kyber and Exotic Mineral dealer," he'd say in a hushed tone, "I believe he sold the mineral elements to our bio-terrorist friends." He would fall silent as he saw Lee push himself through the crowd with a wide smile--display a set of kyber crusted teeth. He wore a gaudy sulk floral shirt that was drenched in sweat.

"Oren," he'd say with a brief hesitation before turning towards the Officer, "And who might you be?" Something didn't feel right, he could see Elom and a few others in the corner near the entrance, talking and pointing back towards the group. Things were probably going to get interesting soon.

“I think I’d take hanging out with some zombies right about now,” Trys muttered back, gazing ahead at the sudden stream of scumbags. She was uncomfortably outnumbered here, and she had to be mindful of any exit strategy she could use. On top of that, she was babysitting Oren who she didn’t want to get trigger happy with his saber again.

When Lee turned to her, Trys gazed back at him, “Name’s Lex,” She thought up a random name on the spot. She didn’t miss Elom and a few others talking and glancing over at their direction. With a sick feeling, she wondered if they were the type to watch the news. Her face had been briefly flashed in the media. However, the galaxy was large, and she could try and pretend to just look similar. Trys looked very different out of uniform, after all.

“So Lee,” She turned to face him, taking a drink for herself and giving him a glass. She clinked their glasses and batted her eyes at him, “I hear you’re a very important man. An entrepreneur of sorts,” Trys wanted to put out feelers to see what she could dig up, “Any chance you can give a poor girl like a tour of your operations?”

His crusted teeth would twinkle in the black light, as he bowed slightly, "Lex eh?" He'd tilt his head slightly, turning towards Oren to slap him on his shoulder, "That's bloody good catch my one eyed friend." He'd motion towards the two of them to follow him towards the entrance, pausing to whisper something in Elom's ear before leading them out the door.

"You like Kyber? I got Kyber rings, kyber necklaces." He'd explain as he lead them through the dirty streets of the city, "How about a Corusca Gem? I had some friends bring one in, a big one.." He'd hold his hands out, "This kriffin' thing is the size of a mudhorn egg..it'd look great in your room, you could look at it while he does that wizard shit to you," a cheeky smirk would fill his face, "Does he use that magic choke thing in bed?"

Oren's face burned bright red, shaking his head as his lips stuttered, "I..I don't think that's your business."

"I always forgot how much of a stuck up prick you were O," he'd chuckle as he lead the two of them into a neon lit pawn shop. Rare and exotic jewelry could be seen throughout. "Tell me what you like baby..I'll charge your boy here and we can start a successful relationship...it's almost Lovers day."

Maybe the relationship ploy wasn't the best fit, because he was as uptight as a prune when it came to these things, and never being in a relationship himself, he found it hard to relate to what a normal person would say in this situation. "Yeah, I'll get you anything you want baby." He'd pause, putting a slight emphasis on his words, "You want an opal right..with Yarrock flakes," he'd peer towards Lee with a raised brow, "You could do that for her right?"

"Yarrok, that kriff's rare, used in spice..but, I've seen it in jewelry." He'd turn behind the counter, looking through his selection.

"Well, could you put one on back order for me? We could go talk business, in the back..you know away from her?"

Lee would look between the two of them before nodding slightly, "Hey Lex, you make yourself comfortable now, we're not gonna walk out of here until O here makes you feel like a star, alright?" He'd clasp onto Oren's shoulder leading him into the back room with a wide insidious grin. The room was now empty, but something was waiting for Oren when he entered.

He'd fine Elom and friends waiting in the back room, and Lee would quickly grab him by his shoulders, holding it so his hands couldn't extend out to cast any force powers right away. "You think we haven't forgot that shit you pulled in the C-BLOCK?" Elom would approach, punching the Jedi in the gut. "We're gonna kriff you up and take your girl, you stupid bantha."

Thankfully, this was actually leading somewhere. Trys followed Lee out through the streets, letting him talk up a storm. Her eyebrows rose at the mention of a ‘magic choke’, and she saw the way Oren’s face turned bright red - for once it wasn’t from any kind of injury.

“No, he doesn’t use any of those magic tricks,” Trys sighed, crestfallen, “It’s very disappointing actually,” She took a sip from the glass she still had in her hand, “I have to do all the work - though he does sometimes get freaky with the robo hand so that ain't bad,” She was entirely too much fun with this, and it was all with a completely straight face.

Lee switched the topic over to Lover’s Day and that sounded like a good hook as any. Trys lit up, turning to Oren, “Yes please, you haven’t spoiled me in soooo long,” She played the part strangely well for how closed off she was normally. It appeared to work as Lee reacted just fine to Oren’s suggestion.

When they split off, Trys had a bad feeling, but she didn’t protest. She needed some time to look through the shop, and perhaps this would allow her that opportunity. Could she trust Oren by himself? Trys remained behind for a moment, waiting till they all went into the side room.

She quickly scanned the shop for cameras, and she found a cheap one that looked like no one ever really monitored it. Trys leaned up and cut the wire, guessing that no one would notice for a while. She then rushed to behind the counter, pulling out drawers and looking through files and records that might provide a clue.

That was when she could hear some noises from the other room, and it didn’t take long for her to realize there was an altercation. Trys looked from the file, to the door, to the file, and then back to the door, “God kriffing damn it you stupid piece of-” She went on for a bit longer with a colorful strand of words to follow. Trys found the file she was looking for and quickly rolled it up and stashed it down the front of her tanktop.

She slammed down the glass she had been drinking from, leaving her with a long shard of glass. Trys didn’t hesitate then, kicking the door open and finding a scuffle going. She hurled the glass shard at one of the men, making him scream out in pain. Trys drew out her stun blaster, firing a shot at Elom.

Of course, this still left Lee and all the other goons...

Well this was awkward, he would peer behind his back as Trys stormed into the room, chucking a shard of glass into a Sullustan's eye, which caused the man to fall back in pain, with a scream. The distraction was just enough for Lee to let go slightly, allowing Oren to send a quick jab into the man's thick gut.

Oren would quickly bring his hands down from the position they were being held in, but Elom was already on the man, sending a right hook square into the bridge of his nose. He felt it crack as he took a slight step back. But, before the smuggler could do anything else a stun bolt was sent square into his chest, causing him to freeze in place.

Oren would peer back with a short breath, blood running from his nose, "Thanks," he'd say with a nasally voice. He'd turn, catching one of the last remaining thugs reaching for his blaster. Oren would raise his hand with the force, pulling the shelf that that held a variety of boxed gems and jewelry to come crashing down onto the man before his shot could be taken towards the officer.

He'd let out a slight huff as he turned towards the last remaining man, Lee, who sat cowering in a corner. "Oh come on playas', we weren't going to kill you or nothing.." He'd wave his hands towards the two of them, "Just take what you want."

Oren would bring his hand towards the bridge of his nose, slightly cracking it back into place as he looked towards Trys, "I think, he has a few bounties for running illegal goods out of the Core Worlds." He'd turn to look towards the group of men, "Should we call it in?"

Trys already had her comlink out by the time she saw the situation coming under control. She glanced over at Oren, quirking an eyebrow as he asked if they should call it in, “No shit,” Trys muttered, “This is the crucial step you missed after slicing off legs,” She dialed the local authorities, informing them of the situation.

“You’re going to get in trouble for trying to sell that imitation crap too,” Trys said, her gun still leveled at Lee, “I’m surprised your little embezzling operation ran this long,” She remained there until the authorities arrived, and Trys got herself and Oren out of the mess with her smooth talking and flashing her badge.

Within moments, they were out of the shop, and she casually reached down the front of her tanktop and pulled out some rolled up papers. Trys looked over at Oren and was about to talk when she noticed his nose, “What the hell?” She sighed, “I can’t take you anywhere…” Trys rolled her eyes, reaching into her bag that always had a medpack. She drew out some bacta patches, giving him one to manage the nose, “Between this and your healing nonsense, you should be good to go.”

Trys looked down at the file, “So good news bad news,” She explained, “Good news is that I found out where there might be a minerals production factory,” Trys grimaced for a moment, “Bad news is that it leads through the tunnels and underground paths that definitely won’t be regulated in any shape or form,” Who knew what kind of danger they could run into?

Oren would peer towards Trys, bowing his head in humility. While she could be brutally honest, she was correct--he had been too involved in trying to be the good guy, that he stopped to think of his actions. He had two years to think about it, what he would have done differently, and now he saw what should have been done--even if it was from the rousing of this brash officer. "I deserve it," he'd say with a sigh as he followed her out and back into the street.

"What the hell?"

Oren's facial markings slowly grew red with frustration as he caught her attempting to baby him, sure his nose was broken, but he could handle it. He wanted to refuse, but knew it wouldn't be worth the headache, and Officer Trys didn't seem like the type to take a simple no. So, he'd take the strip, nodding with a grunt as he placed it against his nose. "Thanks, but you didn't have to." He'd say with some annoyance as she removed a piece of paper from her top. His brow would raise slightly, hopefully she didn't think he was staring at them. That's one place to put that...

He listened to her report, it made sense. Lee ran the whole illegal mining operation on this rock, and based on the hardware he was rocking in his mouth, he had to be getting paid by someone with credits. Though, Oren's stomach would drop when Trys showed some concern about the tunnels. She seemed so brave, and to see her even slightly nervous was enough to give him pause.

"Do you have a stun baton," he'd ask as he looked towards the crowded streets, "I'll be much more helpful with one, than just using my hands." He'd say. Regardless if she gave one or not, they would begin to walk through the streets, twisting and turning down back streets. They would past various homeless individuals laying about, some of them looking and staring towards the pair in hushed tones.

The Jedi would pay it no mine, instead opting to focus on ahead and their objective. The sooner they cleared out this plant, the sooner these people could possibly find a new home. The pair would come up to a set of steps that descended down into darkness. Anything could be lurking down in the depths. He could always use his saber as a flashlight, but with the galaxy the way it was, that would be a terrible thing to do.

"I hope you have a flashlight."

As he asked if she had a stun baton, Trys looked him up and down, “You don’t have a single non lethal weapon on you? And you’re supposed to be a harbinger of peace and sunshine?” She rolled her eyes and handed him a collapsible baton that she almost never used. For melee, she had resorted to using a vibroknife instead. If someone were that on top of her, she wasn’t going to play around with stun weapons.

Trys was normally brave about anything, but the thought of people eating people made her incredibly uneasy. She actually remained a step or two behind Oren, looking all around the homeless people. Some of them looked sickly enough to be rabid or something…. Trys hand her gun in her hand already, ready to act if she needed. Would stun work on these freaks?

As they arrived at the steps, she nodded for Oren to keep going. When he asked about a flashlight, “You’re lucky I even had a baton on me, I’m not a Holomovie cop, you know,” She fished out her comlink, pressing the button to light the way with that. Trys grimaced at the stench as they continued to descend, and she could see some scurrying rats.

“Damn it, is this a sewer?” Trys had to bite back the urge to gag. She could hear the distant sound of dripping water as they continued to walk. The stench got progressively worse, and it now smelled like something dead and rotten.

“Your Jedi magic senses better be on full alert right now, man,” She said, the discomfort clear in her tone, “I want a warning if we’re about to get kriffing jumped.”

Oren would frown slightly as she handed over a baton towards him, he did have the force, but he wasn't really going to carry around a blaster--so uncivilized. He'd feel the crude metal in his hand , sparing a few moments to allow his cybernetic hand feel the weight. He would peer down towards the dark depths of the unknown before looking back to see the concern on her face. It was clear that something was bothering her, so he tried to at least put a smile on her face.

"I wouldn't know about cop-movies, we don't have holo-tubes at our temple," he'd say with a toothy grin, clearly lying, but maybe she'd seriously believe it. He did seem kind of homely and prude a lot of the time. With a deep breath, he would slowly center himself as he took a step down the stairs, with each step he would slowly focus himself to be in tune with the force--which allowed him to irradiate with a calming presence through the force, that even she would be able to pick up on.

His boots would slosh through the dark damp confines of the sewer, as his hand would gently reach out, feeling through the force as they walked. It seemed the labyrinth would seem to stretch for miles on end, likely getting them trapped and lost if they weren't careful. He could feel something, through the force, a darkness and a cloud, something unnatural. But, he also felt a fleeting pain.

That was when he heard the panicked footsteps sloshing towards them. Oren would hold onto the blade tightly as he heard the strained voice of a man crying out in pain, "What are you...doing down here..." An older gentlemen would grab a hold of the Jedi, shaking his hands his shoulder.

A gouge had been torn through the man's neck, causing massive blood loss. "Calm yourself," Oren would say in a stern voice, as he planted his own hands against the man's shoulders as he forced him down against a wall. He could feel the man's heart racing as his eyes fluttered. "Can you tell me what happened?" He'd ask in a gentle tone, as his flesh hand would reach towards the wound, his mechanical hand firmly holding tightly against his right shoulder. He'd peer back towards Trys, "Hold his feet, this might hurt."

He would place his flesh hand against the open wound as he began to feel through the force, his eyes closed shut Slowly his back would arch forward as he began to put a steaming sensation against the old man. He would stir, his eyes drifting slowly as he tried to speak, but even the Master wouldn't be able to stop the massive blood loss. With one final move, the man's face would fall to the side, slumped.

Oren would take a deep breath, as sweat built on his forehead. He felt a slight pain, for this man he never met. Turning back towards Trys, his eyes would narrow, "Whatever is down here...isn't normal, stay behind me." He'd respond as he pulled out his saber, holding the hilt in his hand. He had a feeling she was going to protest.

Trys looked mortified when he mentioned no Holo in Jedi temples, “Damn, the prison cell was probably a step up for you,” She said as she followed him, “I could always arrange for a longer stay for you there if you’d like,” Trys grinned, making light of the situation. It helped her ignore the stench of death all around them and the constant scurrying and dripping of water.

Her boots sloshed through something, and she was quite sure it was literally shit they were stepping in. Trys focused the comlink light around, trying to see how far the tunnels led, but it seemed to go on forever. When she heard the footsteps, Trys whirled around, ready to shoot someone.

She saw someone clutch onto Oren, and she almost shot him. However, the man appeared to speak and sounded more like a victim. Trys stepped back, watching in horror as Oren was touched by the man and he actually grabbed his shoulders in turn. Whatever wound the man had smelled rancid, and it almost looked unnatural.

Trys glared at Oren, muttering under her breath, “I ain’t kriffing touching him,” She opted instead to use her boot to press down on the man’s feet. He was too out of it to really tell the difference, but she had no intention of catching any disease he was carrying.

After whatever magic Oren did, the man simply slumped over. Trys walked over and shined the light on the old man’s face, “What happened? He doesn’t look any better,” Trys drew back, looking around when Oren mentioned staying behind him.

“So…” She said quietly as they kept walking, “I think I’m going to say sabers are fine down here. Whatever did that to the man probably will need more than a stun blaster to take it down.”

As if on cue, she heard strange scurrying and splashing that sounded very different from rats. It was much heavier and louder, and there was an odd shrieking noise accompanying it. Trys had her gun ready, “Sounds like more than one…”
