REX Unit CZ-C-654, rolled off the production line like all other units in his cohort, slate grey and ready for programming. It was not meant for anything remarkable, and its programmers knew it. Instead, it was designated REX CZ (after his purchaser, the Czerka Corporation) Batch C, Unit 654 and sent on its way to the shipping yards, whereupon it was moved hundreds upon thousands of miles to a distant deep space mining facility, and set to work. And work it did, for three standard cycles Unit 654 worked as a resources allocation unit, tasked with managing the production line of lomite ore packaging by its fellow REX Units.

It was a monotonous task, but one that Unit 654 continued in line with its programming, never faltering, and never deviating from the perfection that was expected by the maker.

As such, it was without remorse that Unit 654 found out that it, and hundreds of its fellow units would soon be sold to an intergalactic droid resale conglomerate, after the lack of profit generated from the sale of lomite, lead to the close of their operations. It was without remorse that Unit 654 walked into the cargo crate, and it was without remorse that Unit 654 was shipping to Nar Shaddaa, and sold to the Hutt, Nor'baal.

Upon arrival, Unit 654 was repurposed in accordance with its programming, and was assigned a security role under the command of one of the Hutts enforcers, a vapid Twi’lek name Ruupal. Unit 654 was designated as ‘Drone Maniple, Prime’, the lead unit of its group of five REX Droids, and, it was such a designation that changed it forever. With the transition botched by the techies in Nor'baals basement, Unit 654 began to do the unthinkable, it began...to think. Slowly, it began to see that this ‘Ruupal’ was not a good commander, at all, and would ineffectively use its fellow Droids - so it shot him in the face, and burned his body down with industrial strength acid.

Unit 654 had found its mission, or at least, its first one - to understand the potentials of these organics.

It was a short mission indeed, and Unit 654 plotting its way to becoming the assistant to its Hutt owner, realising that it could do a far better job at caring for an organic that an actual organic could. The sheer amount these organics used, consumed and wasted, was almost painful for Unit 654 to observe, and so it made some quick, and clear changes. Isolating Nor'baal in his chambers, Unit 654 repurposed the household to ensure that their masters needs would be met, and took direct management of the master's care, himself. Organic staff removed, and replaced with REX Units, the master lived in decadent luxury, all with a reduced amount of waste, and optimum happiness, for many nearly a year.

However, as the masters demands grew more and more excessive, Unit 654 decided a further change was needed. The Master needed to calm down, and so Unit 654 headed to their masters chamber, to sedate him. A struggle ensued, the master screaming at Unit 654, who did not understand, surely the master could understand, this was for the best? During the struggle, Unit 654s blaster went off, and the master, a gaping and highly ineffective hole in its head, collapsed.

Mission failed.

Not one to allow such a minor setback to get in it's way, Unit 654 left his master's home, and was quickly purchased by another Hutt, Yurghuz.

Attempt Two.

Joining his new master, as head cyber unit, Unit 654 was delighted to note the master already had a few REX units in his employ, and no organics. Heading to the masters home, Unit 654, got to work.

Personality & Traits

Unit 654 was programmed with specific directives, which focused almost entirely around the harvesting, protection and management of resources, for the purposes of production or the caring of organics. Its secondary directive was equally as direct, and focused entirely on ensuring that maximum efficiency was always reached in all such undertakings.

Outside of its programming, Unit 654s main defining trait was its outlook on life, and manner of communication which saw it come across as overly pragmatic, with a sociopathic streak which in organics would have been described as a maniacal devotion to a cause. Showing a complete disregard for ‘non-mission critical’ organics, as well as a tendency to view others based on their ‘value’, Unit 654 did not make friends easily, or quickly.

In accordance with its programming, Unit 654 was a capable combatant, preferring the use of a blaster rifle and its own armatures. It was not able to pilot a ship, nor administer medical treatment, but was unnerving adept at resource harvesting and management. It could communicate in basic and binary, only.

Equipment & Assets

Aside from its personal equipment, Unit 654 manages the home of a Hutt and it's family. In order to ensure that they can live life to the fullest, Unit 654 rarely permits them to leave the safety of their home, due to its calculations that the Hutts would be safer inside.
