BIOGRAPHY

Rix was born on Lorrd to a woman from Naboo and a Lorrdian father. The oldest of two by just a few years, Rix spent most of his life in a strict, highly structured lifestyle. Everything was planned to the letter. He knew he would be working in the medical field before the age of ten - his parents had planned for it, so it had to be.

There was little time for him to enjoy life on Lorrd. Nearly every waking moment, he spent studying and learning. The brief reprieves he got made him envision life off of Lorrd. He just had to make it through school, and then the galaxy could become whatever he envisioned it to be.

During those brief reprieves, such as when he would get to leave Lorrd and go to Naboo to visit with his mom’s family, he took quite a liking to the planet. Having learned kinetic communication alongside Galactic Basic, he saw elements of it on Naboo, particularly with how people clothed themselves. The vast aquatic elements of the planet, however, drew him in. While his parents continued to plan his future, Rix planned to migrate once he could.

After enrolling in Lorrd University, Rix decided to dual major in medicine and aquatic studies as well. During his time there, he was particularly intrigued by kolto, which despite its lack of use, existed naturally on the planet of Manaan. He began wondering if it was possible to modify it to be on par with that of bacta. He mulled, in order to do so, that he’d need a much more efficient lab than the one at Lorrd University.

After finally graduating from Lorrd University, armed with extensive medical knowledge, he began to seek more gainful employment. Originally, he stayed on at Lorrd University as a medical researcher, but shortly after graduating, the AMS outbreak occurred. Rather than wait for it to spread and engulf his planet, Rix broke from his initial plans and began to realize that no amount of planning could prevent a pandemic. He could, however, work towards a cure. And after having his resume accepted by MorataCorp Medical Aid and Supply, migrated to their headquarters in order to better help with the creation of a vaccine.

After he started working for MorataCorp, Rix's medical knowledge began to grow extensively thanks to being "thrown into the fire," so to speak. Rix assisted in curing the Rakghoul Plague, with his research being particularly effective in curing aquatic humanoids. In the three years to follow, Rix continued working for MorataCorp, though medicinal research began to leave him unfulfilled. He turned to the studying of Dashta eels, finding their biology and burgeoning sentience to be fascinating, particularly once he learned of their Force sensitivity. Through rather duplicitous, entirely clandestine means, he was able to recover the unfertilized eggs of a specimen, interested in raising non-sentient Force users under the noses of his employers and understanding how they interact and if they, or something like them could be used as a weapon.

Personality

Rix, in the simplest of terms, is a pensive, cynical person. He sees the Galaxy through a mixture of mathematics and medicine. Because of this, he often comes off as excessively rational at best and uncaring at the worst. The general morality of sentient species does not seem to phase him, perhaps the core of his being is one of self preservation. Sure, he knows how to act cordially and partake in basic conversation, but he believes that everything that one typically does is in accordance with their own self interest.

Realizing chemicals are the root of emotion, he often ignores his own misgivings of extremes such as anger or sadness. Even when excited about something, something about him always seems muted. Generally, when feeling such an emotion, he holds a blank stare in his eye and keeps his body completely still, lest someone else pick up on his body language. In bouts of any anxiety or stress he might feel, it isn’t uncommon for him to adorn himself in thick, heavy clothes so as not to let anyone see what he might be feeling.

He is always working on a plan, and anything that causes him to deviate from it is often met with resistance.

Skills

Rix has no training in the Force and does not realize he is even Force Sensitive. Still, that doesn’t mean that he’s defenseless, as he was trained how to use a blaster in the event that his plans were derailed. A skilled linguist, Rix is a native Galactic Basic and Kinetic Communication speaker, though later learned other languages such as Huttese and Binary while attending Lorrd University. His eyes are exceptionally sharp, and given his heritage, he is capable of observing the slightest shift in the body language of someone, often giving him insight into their emotions. Perhaps the most important skills of Rix, however, is his vast knowledge of medical practice and marine biology. Even still, despite not knowing that he's Force-sensitive, he has gained a scientific perspective of it, in particular thanks to his work with Dashta eels.
