The hype is strong with this one.

"Rebellions are built on hope." I see what you did there.

OK, now that i've picked my jaw up off the floor, here are some random thoughts:
  • At first, I was worried about the delivery from some of the non-native english speaking actors; even up to this trailer. But i'm actually starting to get into it.
  • Forest's old rebel delivery looks amazing. Really loved his line at the end of the trailer. "Save the Rebellion! Save the dream!"
  • Pretty much all the Visual Effects look amazing. Save for the one scene they keep using with the U-Wing (-_-), all the visuals are stunning. The AT-ST we briefly saw looks really good, as do the starfighter battles. You know what, all the battles look great. From what I see, each planet and engagement will have its own unique feel, from a primarily guerilla war on the geonosis-esque planet, to a full out engagement on Scarif.
  • K-2SO, visually, looks great. I had a pretty hard time telling he wasn't, like, an actual real life robot as opposed to CGI
  • "They are requesting a call sign." "It's, um... Rogue. Rogue one!" kek
  • We finally get a bit of Director Krennic dialogue! And he sounds damn intimidating.
  • "Make ten men feel like a hundred."

Been browsing the Star Wars reddit for other peoples' thoughts on the trailer and there is some hype around the notice of a Hammerhead cruiser in the background, leading to discussion on a potential cameo with the Phoenix Squadron from the Rebels TV show. A cool idea bounced around is that Princess Leia is one of the Fulcrums (I would be completely on board with that).

After talking about the trailer with my brother, we basically agreed that Director Krennic was amazing here. "The POWER we are dealing with is immeasurable."

They fucking nailed the look of it.

Even if I think the Jedi statue is dumb, but everything else, the crispness of the images, the lived in aesthetic to the set design and costumes, the grit of the surrounding elements. That's all perfect, say what you want about the rest, but they fucking nailed that.

So I've never really been one for the Rebels. I mean, I love Leia and stuffs but I was always rooting for the Empire. Rebels and the Trailers for this movie are changing that.

Best Stuffs:
- The. Music. Oh my god!!! How it builds and climaxes and does awesome things!!! All things Star Wars have always had great soundtracks, but to me this is some Duel of the Fates, Across the Stars and Order 66 type shizz. <3 <3 <3 Please let it be as good in the actual movie!
- The three stars of the Trailer for me were Jyn, Director White Cape and Donnie Yens character. Jyn seems like she's going to be SO likeable and makes me want to follow her into open Rebellion. Director Krennic is giving me all sorts of dont fuck with me vibes and the way he holds himself is just <3. And Donnie Yens character just seems like he might be the Heart of the Rogue One group. That man is King of reaction faces.
- THIS AESTHETIC! I'm a Clone Wars era guy through and through but the Dark Times are a close second for me. Dirty, battle scarred landscapes and people are kind of my thing.
- Whoever is cutting these trailers needs a pay rise, paid vacation and promotion. They've captured this whole Hopeful against all odds theme so perfectly and I'm ready to watch all these people die. XD

Top Quotes:
- "The POWER we are dealing with is immeasurable."
- " If the Empire has this kind of power, what chance do we have?" This womans voice is awesome.
- "We have hope. Rebellins are built on hope!"

Mon Mothma is such as boss! Also did anyone else catch Bail Organa? He was in the sizzle reel and hes in the trailer for literally like a second. I feel like they are holding back another reveal or two tbh. And as much as I love Vader, I find myself not wanting him to be in this movie. I don't want all these characters to die! T_T

I'm willing to bet money that this was one of the lines that they used for the Director Krennic audition. It really embodies the character.

Discovered this TV spot. I don't think it's significant enough to warrant an entirely new thread, but it captures what I'm hoping Rogue One would look like.

I love that shot of the ships flying across Yavin.

The nostalgia is strong with this one.
