There is nothing I like more than entering a Roleplay (RP) with good roleplayers and hungry young members. This is a Tutorial on how to make a good thread, and how too participate well in one. First you need to make a good character, you can do this by visiting this thread and posting it in this board. Once you’ve done this your ready.

When to make a thread/post?
When you post you are dedicating yourself to an RP, unless you leave it you are bound to it and its destiny. Keeping this in mind, when you post you need to be aware of how active it is, what you hope to achieve, and how your going to fit in and leave. Likewise when you create a thread you are dedicating yourself to it and its story, you need to have the inspiration, as well as the basic plan.

How to start a roleplay?
When you’ve decided you want to make a thread you then need to decide what its going to be about. You need to think of characters, places, vehicles and most importantly the Thread Status (TS). The thread status is put beside the title: (open) for a thread that everyone can join, (ask) for a thread that only people who ask can join, (invite) for people you have invited and may still invite (closed) for threads where the starting characters are the only ones who will be participating.
Once you have all the variables decided it’s time to start it up. The first post of a thread needs to set the story, it needs to describe where it is, who is there, why it is happening. Description is the key, you need to explain every little detail, so when people begin to post they are aware of what is happening. Here is a small guideline as to layout of a first post.

Where is it?
What is it like there?
What does it feel like?
Where are the characters?
What are they doing?
Why are they doing it?
What are they feeling?
Why are they feeling it?
Anything else?

Tatooine, the plant of limitless sand. The day was hot and laborious to travel through, the sun itself seemed to bore into the skins of those who dared enter is malicious ray. Nor-Lek sat in a café, staring out of the thin duraglass window. He was tired from his journeys, he had travelled miles through the unforgiving dunes of the sand plant, and had no choice but to take rest.

Once you have this make it better, add in details, use more description, really make people want to join your roleplay.

Tatooine, the plant of limitless sand as so many travellers had commented. The day was hot and laborious to travel through, even the locals that were oh so used to it were shocked, the sun itself seemed to bore into the skins of those who dared enter is malicious ray, not caring for the silent torment of the beings beneath its rays. Nor-Lek sat in a dank and lifeless café, staring out of the thin duraglass window at the sorrowful world beyond. He was tired from his journeys; he had travelled miles through the unforgiving dunes of the sand, a apace where even the force could not save him from the incomparable inferno.

Now it is an interesting post and will make a thread compelling for others to post in.

How to post in a roleplay?
Once you’ve decided that you want to join a roleplay, or often post in your own you need to know what to post. Much like making the initial thread you need to know what you hope to achieve from your post, and indeed you role in the story. Here is a little guideline for posting in a RP:

*How did your character get there?
*Why are you there?
*Who is there?
What do they feel like?
Where about are they?
What are they doing?
Why are they doing it?
What are they feeling?
Anything else?
*Only if it is your first post

Sabre had just landed I the spaceport of Mos Eisley, he went to get a drink as his ship was being refuelled. He was ultimately heading to Naboo to finish some business, but he had made a pit stop for essentials. He was hot, and as he stepped into the café he immediately noticed the Jedi sitting by the window, keeping a relative distance. He was baking alive in his travellers clothes, Tatooine was certainly no the ideal place to stop. He stepped up to the bar leaning over it to place his order.

Now make it better, add description and make it more interesting.

Sabre had just landed I the spaceport of Mos Eisley, his ship curving into the landing port, he then went to get a drink as his ship was being refuelled, he’s paid good money and hoping there would be more than just fuel in it when he returned. He was ultimately heading to Naboo to finish some business, that is however if collecting a bounty was considered business. He had made a pit stop for essentials. He was sweltering hot, and as he stepped into the café he immediately noticed the Jedi sitting by the duraglass window, he kept a relative distance, he had never cared much for Jedi. He was baking alive in his traveller’s clothes; Tatooine was certainly no the ideal place to stop, but it could be far worse. He stepped up to the bar leaning over it to place his order, his manors were not prize concern as he requited the most alcoholic thing for sale.

After reading this I hope you have a detailed insight into the world of roleplaying, if you have any further questions feel free to send me a PM.

Question:
I RP Like you but diffrently. If you look at my sig below there like uner the pic colors like red, blue, purple, gray, and white. THey say somthing like White = Actions. How I did it is like the colors corrospond to my RPs. So if the text is white its an RP Action, if the text is red is my character speaking, if it green it and NPC guy speacking and so on...Is this OK?

Yeah, that's the weird way of doing it.

Not really, unless you've never read a book before.

Doing it with that many different colors can actually be annoying to read. The way I do it is simple. Dialogue is the default forum color and the narrative is the same color of my sig. For example, in the Diverse RP when I RP as Ussej Bac I use green because the sig is green. When I use Ussej Bac III, I use maroon because because the sig is maroon.
