DESCRIPTION
Due to his inexperience with lightsaber combat, Ruzaan has taken to carrying the best approximation of the weapon he hopes to have in the future; a humble training lightsaber on loan from the Jedi Order. The weapon is flexible enough to allow him to ignite one or both blue blades as he wishes, but in many ways it is inferior to a standard lightsaber. It will reflect blaster fire and can block a normal lightsaber, although prolonged contact with a fully-powered lightsaber is not recommended as it can potentially overload the training lightsaber's circuitry and cause it to short out. The training lightsaber is also unable to penetrate skin, instead leaving burns and stunned nerves upon contact with exposed skin. Traditionally, Jedi Knights could deactivate the protective field around training sabers and wield them as fully functioning weapons in an emergency, but Ruzaan is ignorant of this feature.
LEGALITY
Legal where lightsabers are legal. Upon closer inspection and testing, it could be revealed as a nonlethal weapon and may be permitted in areas where normal lightsabers are not.
INTENT
A write-up for a training lightsaber, the goal is to have Ruzaan build his own lightsaber one day and I wanted something inferior to start with.
