Sanctions deepen as ISC affirms support for anti-Sith efforts

Despite repeat political attacks against the Independent Systems Consortium by erstwhile Galactic Senate members, the FWA and NR, the Consortium has reaffirmed its commitment to cooperation with its intergalactic partners. In a press conference from ISC President Thorne, he confired that '[The ISC] are on a path to prioritize our economy and make it a thriving ecosystem that will not collapse without a reliance on foreign governments. While it has been an uphill battle, it confirms that even from back then, based on our principles, we do not have dealings with Sith'.

This comes after repeated political attacks on the President, who was accused of putting the interests of Corporate Partner, inlcuding the Blackwell Corporation, above those of the people he represents.

The ISC and the Presidents Office have dismissed he allegations as 'little more than political jibes, which have been proven to be untrue following the President voting to impose the sanctions, which saw him break a tie in the Galactic Senate in favour of the resolution. The President remains committed to building the ISC, for the benefit of all its citizens.'

Meanwhile, sanctions have continued to have impact on the Corporate world, with the swift manner in which they have come into force leaving many companies struggling to adapt to the recent changes. Julia Hipori, a former member of the ISC Government, spoke to the 'Herald' earlier today, after she was seen walking into a meeting of the Blackwell Corporation board. Mrs. Hipori, who is a member of the board of Systech as well confirmed that the 'sanctions are having an effect but this is mostly down to the legal changes and the associated logistics. Blackwell does not have considerable trade with the Sith Empire, specifically with relation to the sanctioned products'.

When pressed on the impact the sanctions have had on the Systech Corporation Mrs. Hipori confirmed that a 'formal statement from the Company will follow in due time, once the specific details of the impact of the sanctions on the complex dealings of the Company have been made clear'.
