New Alderaan - Farm just outside Jedi Temple
*Open to Padawans - Meant to be a fun thing so don't take it seriously and have fun!*

It was early, too early when the lights to Jacata's quarters flicked on as one of the Jedi stepped into the room. He was told to report to a small farm stead a click or so outside the Temple walls. This wasn't all that unusual, though it always made him wonder why teachers had them up in the middle of the night to learn. What ancient Jedi Master had decided that sleep was the most dangerous thing a Padawan could do?

He groaned as he rolled from his bed. He glanced at the mirror in his room. Messy hair fell in front of his face. He had half a mind to take his time, but he had learned his lesson too many times to know being last was rarely a good thing when it came to these sort of things. He quickly dressed, clipping his lightsaber to his belt before stumbling out into the darkness.

The moon was still high in the sky, it would likely be hours before sunrise but he made his way to the designated farm. He wasn't the first to arrive, but he wasn't last. That was a good thing. A group of Padawans had gathered in the cold night air in front of a Jedi Knight who didn't try much to hide the amused look on his face from pulling the Padawan's from bed.

"Good Morning, Padawans. The local farmer reached out to the Jedi this morning to get some assistance with their runaway Blurrgs. About fifteen of the creatures broke out about an hour ago. They are pretty quick but are likely still in the area." he said. Jacata peered around the Jedi Knight, seeing the clean cuts in the fence, clearly caused by a lightsaber. The Knight saw where Jacata's eyes wondered and grinned even wider.

"Well, your wasting time standing around. No one eats breakfast until all fifteen creatures are returned." the Knight finished. Jacata sighed, his stomach already growling.

Sev was no where near as eager as Jacata seemed to be about the whole predicament. One idiot of a farmer couldn't contain his animals so someone had to drag Severus out of his comfortable bed to go and wrangle them back together. Severus didn't hate nature, he just hated being forced into nature.

The dreary Padawan yawned after the Jedi Knight instructed them to get going, threatening not give him breakfast if they didn't capture all fifteen of the rancid beasts. He only glared at Jacata's immense interest that probably got Severus into this whole situation in the first place. "Let's just get this over and done with- and without any speaking. Please. I can tell you now that I am too tired to care about whatever annoying small talk you have in store for me." Sev groaned as he sped walked away towards the opening in the fence.

He really had no interest in the other Padawan. Sev thought that regardless of the warning he gave before hand Jacata would still try and be friendly with the bitter Padawan. It was a natural flaw amongst his peers that Severus that was rather odd- the fact that they think everyone can be friends with anyone was a stupid lie that would get them hurt, whether by physical or emotional means. All Severus wanted to do was find the animals so he could go back to bed- today was supposed to be his day off anyway.

Dice Thread (Totally optional!)

Jacata removed his robe and hung it up on a fence post leaving his broad arms exposed under a sleeveless shirt. He rotated his arms, flexing the muscles as he stretched. The morning chill started to wake up and he felt better, he felt great actually. It wasn't that he particularly enjoyed early mornings, but he chose this life.

A rather grouchy human stormed up to him and the fence. Jacata hadn't even noticed him fully until the kid had gotten half way through biting his head off for small talk Jacata had no intention making. Some people weren't morning people, Jacata got that, but this guy seemed to take that to a whole new level. "You got it, pal." he said, moving to walk away from the brooding Padawan. Jacata wondered if the guy slept with the stick up his ass or removed each night just the replace it in the morning. It would be better to work as a group, but he wasn't about to work with someone who was that openly hostile.

He stretched a little bit more before, jumping in place before taking off in a direction in search of one of the missing Blurrgs. He stood atop a small hill, looking around the moonlit pasture land and saw one in the distance, but the creature spotted him at the same time and took off running the other direction. "Oh no you don't!" he said as he took off in a run. Even with the Force boosting his speed, the creature was fast. He was going to have to push himself if he was going to hope to keep up.

Severus sighed and when he reached the fence, he instead decided to take it slow and focused on the broken bits and pieces of the fence, feeling through the Force where the beasts could've went as apart of Psychometry. As he closed his eyes he could see the creatures bursting through the fence and then-

"Oh no you don't!"

Sev's connection was interrupted by the blathering Padawan from before. Deciding that it wouldn't be worth biting his head of over, Severus begrudgingly shrugged away the feelings annoyance and followed after the other Padawan to see what he had found. To Severus's surprise, Jacata had spotted a now lumbering blurrg that wasn't too far away from the group.

Severus's opinion of the Padawan changed slightly, he might have lacked stealth, but he had keen eyes and managed to find one of the fifteen animals they were after, which Sev had failed to do earlier. He pursed his lips as he remembered what he told the Mirilian before they began the hunt and guilt overwhelmed him again. His posture drooped and he sighed in dismay- people really were difficult for him.

Severus facepalmed and followed after the runaway blurrg, but went left to see if he could flank it and guide it back to the main ranch. Contacting Jacata would've been ironic, hypocritical, and probably difficult all in one right now, but Sev still decided it was worth a shot trying to explain to the other Padawan about his plan telepathically. He focused on the other teenager's mind, and heard things echo from his rather pleasant mind about Severus that made Sev feel even more guilty.

"Uh...Greetings, Jacata. This is the kid with the stick up his ass, and yes I know I'm speaking to you right now- Which is beside the point -just...I'm trying to flank the beast. See if we can corner it." Hopefully that went through clearly enough.

"Maybe I was wrong about before...Communication is necessary, I guess. Shall we do this together, then?" He asked, waving down Jacata to show him his position as he ran.

Jacata ran over moon-lit grass. The Force gave him the split second warnings of potholes or other dangers his eyes didn't see. The creature was by no means running at full speed, but Jacata was having to push himself to catch the thing.

He felt a buzzing in his mind, almost causing him to loose focus on his footing. The boy from earlier voice materialized in his head. It pushed on his mind uncomfortably but he gave a sort half apology, asking if they could work together. Jacata had no way of replying so he shot a hand up to guy when he spotted him.

Trapped between the two Padawans, the Bluurg slowed. It let out a huff of air as it considered its options. Jacata held his hands out to his side. "We are all friends here, no need to run off." he said in a calm tone as he took a step closer. "Easy there..." he kept speaking as he took another stuff. The creature spun and stomped a foot in his direction causing Jacata to freeze. "No one's here to hurt you..."

Brilliant! Jacata and Severus both managed to place the beast into a strategic pickle. If the Padawan's were smart, this could be over quickly and Sev could get right back in bed. The blurrg stamped it's feet as Jacata slowly stepped forward, so Sev decided to stay where he was incase the beast made a move on them, that way they could easily pin the blurrg again.

Sev had read about these beasts a couple months ago- how the females ate the males after mating like spiders and found that they acted very similar to most equaines in temperament and mannerism. They required an eased mind and slow movement to calm them down- they were almost able to tell if their handler was nervous, which casued the animal to be nervous as well which would result bad outcomes for the handler.

So what Jacata was doing was perfect! Severus's admiration for the Padawan increased and he decided not make any mental contact with him, due to the fact that it might ruin the process they were undergoing. So, Severus stayed ready and stayed put, waiting in anticipation for Jacata to make a move before the blurrg did.

Hope it's not a female...more aggressive...like to bite. Severus noted while he watched.

Step by step, Jacata drew closer the beast. "Easy..." he said trying to keep it calm. Jacata was going to try and grab ahold of the reins on the creature's saddle.

As Jacata got within about 10 feet of the creature, it stomped a foot in warning. The Padawan froze for a second before taking another step. Without further warning the blurrg charged at him. Powerful legs propelled it forward quickly. He felt the wind of the creature's passing as he leapt to the side, only barely dodging at the creature.

Agitated, the blurrg turned on Severus and charged at the other Padawan. Jacata spit grass from his mouth as he jumped up and ran to aid the other boy.

Severus flinched when the beast circled around and charged at the black-clad Padawan. Jacata was so close, too! Severus was almost convinced he was going to be able to wrangle to Blurrg. Sev decided to hold his ground instead of run and further provoke the already angered beast. He focused the Force around his body, channeling it up and down his legs rapidly until the Blurrg looked like it was going to ram right into him- and in a black blur that evaded to the right, the Blurrg missed her target and Sev was untouched.

Force Speed- Arguably Sev's favorite ability.

He stared down the Blurrg that turned to face him and snarled, raking the ground with her feet menacingly.

"New plan! I'm going to have her chase me right back into the pen. Uh...Wish me luck?" He shrugged at the green Padawan before turning around to run back towards the ranch, the Blurrg chasing after him. Severus began channeling the Force again, using it to increase his speed as he began lunging farther and farther, keeping pace with the Blurrg, however, so it didn't lose interest.

"This better work! I hate improvising..."

The Blurrg snorted as it just barely missed Severus. Spinning around, it snorted and stamped a foot on the ground as it prepared another charge. Before they could come up with any other sort of plan, Sev decided he was going to try and simply outrun it. In theory it wasn't the worst plan, but the Blurrgs were extremely swift creatures.

Jacata was not slow per se but he was not built with the supernatural speed of other Jedi. He ran after the two as they crashed into the night back towards the farm.

Even with Sev's use of the Force, the Blurrg gained on the Padawan. Its eyes seemed to glow with hatred for the Padawan who had dodged its attack. As it grew close, it leaned forward and snapped at the Padawan's leg but just barely missed. The change in balance caused it to stumble slightly and slow before coming to a stand still.

They were within 50 feet of the of the coral. The Jedi Knight leaned up against the fence as he watched the Padawan with an amused look on his face. Jacata finally caught up to the pair at the Blurrg weighed the options of another charge or simply bolting back in to forest.

Severus started to slow down a bit after hearing the Blurrg stumble- he couldn't stop right away so by the time he did stop he was back inside the coral without any Blurrgs with him. Severus sighed and jogged back outside to face the Blurrg again, this was far toom much effort for just one beast. "C'mon, lizard breath!" He taunted. "Or are you too slow and stupid?" Hopefully this could at least draw it in a little closer so someone could hop on the saddle and ride her back into the coral.

If the other animals were still out there, Severus would need to devise a new plan on how to efficiently catch the animals. They'd have to start trying to mount the animals, probably, which...was not at all in Severus's line of expertise. Maybe Jacata had secret cowboying powers that he himself didn't even know existed. For the time being, at least, they needed to focus on the Blurrg they actually managed to find first, before thinking about the others.
