The gift of the Bendu was a gemstone thought to be lost in history. It was a coveted artifact that reportedly enhanced one’s connection with the Force. This, in turn, amplified their strength with it. In times where Sevrin sought to take the fight directly to the Sith, an artifact such as this could prove to be incredibly useful.

The challenge was that there was no concrete trail on the stone. It had been last here on Obroa-Skai, but that had been eons ago. Sevrin had a flimsy lead at best, but it was the only place to start.

The Sephi had requested another Jedi for help in case things got too dicey, but he wasn’t sure who he was assigned with just yet. The lead he had would take them deep into a forest where supposedly some old kooky antiques collector lived. Apparently the eccentric old man knew about a more solid trail to get the artifact.

Sevrin grimaced slightly as he read the laughably sparse details, almost embarrassed to share it with his Jedi partner. For now he stood in silence near a hiking trail that led deeper into the forest. The sun was high and the air was warm. The scene saw woods stretched out before him, green surrounding him on all sides. His keen ears could pick up the sound of waterfalls deeper into the path, but he couldn’t see them just yet.

One of the tasks that Brienna Lanaamer, Jedi Knight, enjoyed most in her service to the Order was artifact hunting. More specifically, Jedi artifacts. During the time of the Empire and the First Order, artifacts and relics of the Jedi had been scattered all over the Galaxy. Some ending up in the private collections of aristocrats, some in galleries, and even some ending up in the most peculiar of locations. Like that time I was digging in the mud on Nal Hutta. When Bri had been reading her communications a few days ago, she spotted a request from a Knight to assist in an artifact retrieval. Unlike the trails she usually followed, which deposited her in some criminal's warehouse, aristocrat's penthouse, or history museum, the scant details on this particular item was a little more intriguing. It came with the tagline - lost to history.

The track record on finding items that had been lost to history was not great. It typically indicated that much wiser minds than Bri's had looked and searched, but found little success. Nevertheless, such daunting odds would not sway the Jedi from giving it her best effort. Never hurts to try, right? She had been assigned to meet her Jedi colleague on Obroa-Skai. A temperate planet, with diverse nature, the navicomputer on her ship led to the Jedi colleague's coordinates. This particular part of the planet looked to be densely wooded, not unlike Ajan Kloss or Yavin, with a few tall rock formations jutting up from the ground. Bri flew low, finding a clearing for her ship to land near the entrance to the more forested area. The exhaust from her 3-Z class freighter whipped through the tall trees, causing them to sway and flutter in the strong wind.

Bri guided the ship into landing, and hopped up from the pilot's chair, flipping and pressing the associated switches and knobs to keep it locked in place. She extended the landing ramp, and walked down, the warm sun quickly shining on her face. She held a hand above her brow for shade, and spotted a figure standing near the treeline. Assuming it was either her Jedi partner, or someone who could guide her further, she started the short walk over.

Not knowing what kind of unexpected surprises may lie in store, Bri had tried to dress and come as prepared as possible. Rather than a more formal, loose flowing Jedi tunic, she wore a light brown tank top, with accompanying brown jacket. Her saber was hidden in an interior pocket. The rest of the outfit was completed with a pair of tight, tan pants, and brown leather boots. Again anticipating more activity, her blonde hair was tied up in a ponytail. It swung gently from side to side as she walked. The Jedi also carried a small pack on her back; inside was a few snacks, some water, and a datapad.

As Bri got closer to the man by the forest, she got a better look at him. He appeared to be around the same age as her, but had a good couple inches in height. Black hair, and Bri was about to assume another human, but quickly spotted the pointed ears of a Sephi. He was obviously in good shape, and held, in the Jedi's opinion, an all together pleasing appearance. Silver eyes. That's interesting.

"Hi there," Bri started, offering a friendly smile, and small hand up as introduction. "Sevrin?" she asked, providing the only information she had seen on the post about the artifact hunting Jedi.

Sevrin was typing a few things into his datapad to pull up more information on this old man when his ears picked up movement. He didn’t look her way right away, allowing her the chance to survey her surroundings without feeling rushed. The Sephi focused back on what he was doing till he heard her approaching much closer.

The Jedi Knight turned around to regard her, taking in sight of her appropriately prepared attire. He noticed her striking blue eyes at once, rivaling even his own silvers in how piercing they were. There was beauty in her with a dignified complexity that was accented by the calculated intelligence in her eyes.

Sevrin was adorned in a simple, tan combat ready Jedi tunic and pants that had no real hanging edges to get caught on anything. The material was breathable and his saber was hidden behind the belt across his waist. His jet black hair was tied in a ponytail, a few strands tucked behind a pointy ear. He carried with him his own pack that also had tent accessories in it, if needed, in addition to rations.

He caught her smile and extended his hand to take it. His eyes softened slightly, but there was no real smile - he was more stoic by nature. He shook the hand, grasping it firmly, “Yes. And you are Brienna?” He asked before he released her.

Sevrin looked back towards the path that led into the forest, “Have you been to Obroa Skai before?” He asked as he began to slowly walk down the path. He made a conscious effort to slow his pace for her - his tall height often meant he took long strides where others had to practically jog to keep up.

"Yep - Bri's fine," the Jedi replied, indicating her preferred nickname. "Its nice to meet you," she added, shaking his hand in return. A quick mental note from the woman identified that her partner was rather more reserved in nature, She paused, taking in the surroundings a bit more. The weather was warm, but not to an unpleasant level, with a slight breeze ruffling the trees every few moments. A thoroughly describable 'nice day'.

"I haven't," Bri responded to Sevrin's question. "It seems nice though. Temperate. How about you?" she added as they started to walk. The Knight paused and listened to her colleague's response before following with another question. "So, what can you tell me about what we're looking for? The details in your message were a little scarce," a small friendly laugh completed Bri's inquiry. Scarce was a little bit of an understatement.

The forest path, was trodden, but bushes and other assorted plants still threatened to overtake the trail. It didn't appear that there were much signs of other civilization in the forest they were in. No buildings, no ships, no droids, just the sound of the wind in the trees, a few small animals, and Bri thought she heard the soft echo of a nearby stream, potentially a fall of some kind. If their introduction was any indication, the Jedi guessed that there'd be a fair amount of walking ahead for them.

Sevrin nodded, reminding himself that she preferred to go by Bri. He was already walking by the time she casually pointed out that his mission details were vague. He heard the laugh that followed, and he found the corners of his lips twitching towards a smile. The Sephi’s gaze flicked towards Bri, a borderline sheepish looking crossing the normally stoic face.

“The details were abysmal,” He stated flatly in agreement, “I wasn’t able to dig up anything useful outside of some old antique collecting hermit living deep in the woods. Supposedly he may have answers to where the Bendu stone may be….which is probably on another planet.”

The Sephi used the Force to move errant branches and leaves out of the way as they walked, clearing a path for them both. Sevrin realized he offered a whole lot more vague information and he came to a light pause. His silver gaze met hers for a moment.

“You won’t turn back because of how stupid this mission sounds, will you?” He asked rather bluntly, half expecting her to decide this was a waste of time with the vague amount of information. There was a lot of trial and error expected and not all Jedi were up for such endeavors. Then again, she had already made her way out here so perhaps he could simply make it up to her for dragging her on a seemingly fruitless quest.

Bri's partner initially appeared to share the same hesitations towards their search, describing the preliminary information as 'abysmal.' It was a strong word, although not altogether incorrect. The Knight nodded as she listened to his explanation. Truthfully, it wasn't great. Bri had hoped for something - anything - a little more substantial. But, they had a least one lead. And that's more than enough for me to start with.

They walked quietly on the path, the sounds of nature surrounding them. The Knight was slowly forming a positive opinion of Obroa-Skai. It felt peaceful, and held a general relaxed atmosphere. At least these woods do. She had flown over a few of the larger cities on approach, but had not gotten a strong feeling or spent enough time to form any sort of conclusions. The sound of a nearby waterfall slowly increased in noise, and Bri was not so secretly excited to see it.

The Jedi tilted her head and turned to face the Sephi as he offered a brief pause, and asked a somewhat reassuring question. Bri smiled with a slight shake of her head. "No, of course not." The Knight prided in her own determination, which sometime ended up being a detriment, but was in no way swayed by the lack of information for their search. With her nose firmly placed on the scent, she would do her best to follow it to its conclusion, regardless of the outcome. I wonder if he's had other people bail on him before?

"I'm always up for a good artifact hunt. Besides, we wouldn't want it too easy, right?" She offered another grin with her final comment, attempting to lighten the mood somewhat.

Sevrin quirked a single eyebrow at her question, “I deal with padawans all day. I wouldn’t mind an adventure that’s easy for a change,” He mused aloud as he kept walking. His thoughts drifted to the bootcamp style training he offered younger Jedi and the amount of attitude and stubbornness he had to deal with. Guiding young Jedi to find patience and compassion to perform their duties for the Order was often a greater challenge than facing the Sith.

His keen ears had picked up the waterfalls and he didn’t miss the way Bri whipped to look in that direction. Sevrin took note of this, deciding he didn’t mind the slightly longer path that would take them closer to the waterfalls. He diverted slightly to lead them along towards the water. It was easy enough to track, a stream flowing parallel to them.

“Evidently this man is a bit...let’s just say he’s not all up there,” He gave a vague gesture with his hand to imply the man was outright insane, “We need to be on the lookout for booby traps and any obstacles he may have placed to prevent exactly what we're about to do,” Sevrin explained.

As they kept walking, he could partially see a grand waterfall up ahead, but it was still obscured by some trees. They would have to descend down further to see it properly. The Sephi was surefooted, coming across a cliff face with a narrow descent through slippery rocks.

He took a few steps down and glanced up at Bri, extending a hand to help her down. It was a rather dangerous path down that would take strict focus as there was an abrupt drop on the other side. He only hoped that Bri didn’t have a fear of heights. He could feel the cool mist from the waterfall site already brushing his skin.

Bri's attempt at a joke was apparently not met with a similar reaction from her colleague. No smile or slight laugh, just a raised eyebrow and a short muse about his time as a trainer of Padawans. Ok, guess I need to work on the sarcasm. The Knight was not envious of the task of training Padawans or even babysitting them. Bri had yet to take on a Padawan learner, but caught what the Sephi was trying to express to her. "Yeah, I can definitely understand that," Bri responded, with an understanding nod.

The sound of the nearby water fall grew louder as they walked. After a few more paces, Sevrin offered another piece of information about the contact they were going to meet, who supposedly had the necessary information on the Bendu stone. Bri also understood the implications behind the description of, 'not all up there.' That particular detail seemed to track right with the hunting of an object that had been so far lost to history. Of course its a crazy person, why wouldn't it be? "Thanks for the heads up. I figure our combine expertise should be able to spot them?"

A short period after, the reverberations of the waterfall grew too loud to ignore, and came into partial view, obscured by a few trees. In order to keep navigating to their destined 'crazy person,' as well as to see the waterfall properly, the two Jedi would have to descend down a narrow pathway, stepping past a collection of rocks, moistened by the spray of the water.

The Sephi went first, gingerly stepping down on the rocks, and finding stable enough footing, reached out his hand to help Bri down. The Jedi took it gratefully, joining her colleague on the lower level. It was a decent height up from the ground, and definitely required concentration to navigate. No goofing off, then. The refreshing spray from the fall could already be felt on Bri's face and exposed skin, providing a gentle cool from the warm of the sun. "Thanks," the woman nodded in appreciation as she let go of his hand. "Don't suppose its just hidden behind the waterfall then?" came another attempt at humor, and a short laugh.

Sephi were difficult people to read by nature. It was often hard to tell if they found something funny or offensive given their generally blank and dignified expressions to almost every scenario. Sevrin was no exception to that. He had often struggled in social situations that had back and forth banter or quips. While he was certainly witty, his humor was drier than average, and he definitely didn’t accompany it with a smile.

"I have many areas of expertise... handling potentially violent and senile old men is likely not one. And I've dealt with a Jedi Council.."

Sevrin kept his pace steady, his footing graceful and precise. It was as if he had done this many times over, easily making his way down the steep incline. The rocks were slippery and the drop was massive, but the path allowed them to descend and observe the waterfall from a much better vantage point.

He kept going until he came to pause, glancing up to regard the grand waterfall. It ended in a large pool far down below them, the entire area covered in mist. He was damp throughout his entire body from standing so close.

Sevrin stood there watching till he heard Bri speak again. He tilted his head to regard her in silence. It was difficult to tell externally whether he understood the joke or not, but he answered regardless, “You believe so? Perhaps we can look behind the waterfall then,” He nodded in agreement as if it were a remarkable idea.

She wouldn’t know right away if he was elaborately joking right back with her or taking everything she said literally. Whatever the case, Sevrin casually began to make his way towards the waterfall. It was up to Bri whether she was prepared to go right through it.

"I have many areas of expertise... handling potentially violent and senile old men is likely not one. And I've dealt with a Jedi Council.."

Was that at least a mild attempt at humor? Bri had not directly interacted with a Sephi before, but was quickly realizing that calling them and their humor dry, was an understatement. It was nearly opposite of herself - she tried to lubricate every conversation she was in with some sort of sarcastic, or self-deprecating comment to try and keep things light and jovial. Nevertheless, it seemed even her best attempts would fall flat with the ultra-serious Sevrin. The Jedi wondered about a personal challenge to try and make him laugh.

"We'll figure out how to handle it," she responded, trying to sound optimistic. They continued their walk on the cliffside towards the waterfall, carefully placing their steps to ensure no slips resulted in a quick trip down to the ground. The going was slow, but the distance was not that far to traverse, and the two Jedi ended up close to the fall. Near enough that the falling mist slowly dampened Bri's clothes. The Jedi was a little surprised when she was met with a new offer from the Sephi, following her joke.

“You believe so? Perhaps we can look behind the waterfall then,”

I think he's actually being serious? "Uh, no, that's ok," another laugh followed from Bri. "Just a joke, and I'd prefer not to spend the rest of the day wet," she looked down at her clothes and realized the slight irony of her statement. "Well, more wet than I already am." Still, she followed along with Sevrin as the continued to progress on the narrow ledge. Despite the danger accompanied with a slippery, tight, high up rock path, the view was still impressive. Bri took the opportunity to pause for a few moments, appreciating the deep hum of the falling water, contrasting with the serenity of the nearby nature.

Sevrin paused when Bri quickly pointed out that she was joking. This time when he looked at her, there was a hint of amusement on his face, betraying that he had actually been pulling her leg in return. While it wasn’t a laugh or a smile, it was certainly a slight improvement over the frosty stoic. He also decided he liked the sound of her laugh as it was a feathery complement to the other pleasant noises around him.

The Sephi kept walking before he realized Bri had stopped to regard the waterfall. He turned to do the same, pausing his pace to watch the grand display. Sevrin raised his hand as he channeled the Force to himself. A languid wave of his hand caused the misty fog to disperse, making their view crystal clear. There was a lagoon at the bottom of the waterfall with perfect emerald waters.

“How can anyone become violent when this is their backyard?” Sevrin mused aloud before he began to walk again.

The path finally led to more stable ground as they were back on the route. He reached a hand to once again help Bri off the rocks if she needed before releasing her again. The Sephi wiped his face off to get the water off, running his hand through his long hair to check how soaked it was. Hilariously they both looked as if they had gone swimming.

Sevrin kept walking for a bit, looking around and taking in all the sights, “You know, this is a rather pleasant-”

And that’s when he heard a growl nearby.

Ah-ha! There is a sense of humor there. Bri spotted the amusing glance from Sevrin as she explained her joke. So he did catch what I was saying. I wonder if he would have actually let me walk through that waterfall.... "Ok....ok," she laughed, with a nod.

Bri watched as Sevrin waved a hand and used the Force to dispel the misty air, giving them a clear view of the waterfall, and the small body of water below. Trees and hardy plants lined alongside the dramatic natural feature providing a pleasing contrast of greens and blues. The sunlight reflected strikingly against the water, keeping the whole area bright with life. Bri nodded with a smile in agreement to the Sephi's assessment of the natural beauty. "It really is quite beautiful."

The two continued their walk across the cliff-face, eventually making back towards less perilous ground. Bri took Sevrin's hand as she navigated a particularly challenging set of slippery rocks. "Thanks." They both then paused to remove some of the excess water that had ended up soaking them. Bri was surprised at how wet she was, not noticing the slow accumulation of the misty cloud. She took the elastic band out of her hair and ran a few hands through her sunny colored locks, tying it back together in a ponytail.

"It is," Bri grinned, looking over to Sevrin, and agreeing with his evaluation. Just as she finished, she stopped and stood still, her ears picking up an unusual sound - unrelated to the nearby waterfall. She turned her head a few times looking around. "Did....did you hear something?"

Sevrin glanced over when Bri removed the band to let her hair loose. His silver eyes fixed in that general direction for a moment longer, “Looks better down,” He stated very matter of factly before glancing away back at the path.

When the growl erupted, Sevrin’s jaw tightened slightly, eyes narrowing. He didn’t immediately respond to Bri’s question, his keen ears listening for any other movement. With his enhanced hearing, he could hear the rustling around them. He took a few steps back and closer towards her, “More than one, whatever it is,” He said quietly.

Before he could do anything else, a small knife shot through the air and pierced directly into Sevrin’s shoulder. The Sephi grunted in pain before he unleashed a wave of the Force to toss back whoever had thrown it.

Within moments they were surrounded by at least four Chazrach. They had a wild look in their eyes as they charged out with spears and blades. It was clear that the two Jedi had accidentally trespassed into a tribe of the aggressive reptilian species.

“Come on! We have to find cover!” Sevrin said with a slightly strained voice with the knife still lodged into his shoulder. He ran to the side and deeper into the jungle to find a better vantage point and some cover. They would be severely advantaged if they stayed on the path and out into the open.

The reptilian warriors gave a shrill cry and gave chase.

Bri turned her attention to Sevrin as she readjusted her hair. An eyebrow raised at his comment. She was unsure if it was a compliment, or just a matter-of-factly stated opinion from the Sephi. He turned his attention back to the path in front of them, and Bri decided to move on.

//

It shouldn't have been surprising based on the difference in ear type, but Bri was still quick to note that the Sephi had obviously heard much more from their surroundings than she did. The Jedi's face was locked in with focus, a notable departure from the curious, admiring glances she had been giving the nature, just a few moments earlier. A subtle nod responded to Sevrin's comment.

Just as Bri turned her head, a sharp knife erupted from one of the bushes and struck Sevrin's shoulder before either of them could react. It was fast. Really fast. Bri cursed internally that she hadn't felt the danger approaching and was unable to help prevent injury. The Force blast that Sevrin unleashed whooshed past the Jedi, though it was difficult to tell if it made connection with the attacker.

Following nearly instantly, four chazrac charged the two Jedi, spears and weapons bared, aggression and ferocity painted on their faces. The onrushing attack was coming too fast for Bri to respond with an effective defense. Instead, she heard Sevrin call out to her, calling for a more advantageous position. The Jedi concurred with her colleague, and let loose her own Force push in the direction of one of the reptilians.

"You alright?" Bri called, quckly making up the ground between them, and running into the wooded forest.

Sevrin leapt over a boulder and crouched down behind it, feeling pain shoot through his body from the knife still embedded in his shoulder. Bri came up next to him and he couldn’t help but grimace slightly, “You know… I really hope this wasn't your idea of not wanting things too easy,” He muttered as he called the Force to himself, “I have an idea, but I’ll need your help.”

He turned to look at Bri, “Have you ever used plant surge?” Not many Jedi had. It was a particular trick with the Force, but damn useful when used in situations like this. Sevrin focused his attention as he could see the warriors coming from this vantage spot.

Suddenly, a root from the ground wrapped around one of them running his way, causing the warrior to trip. Once he was on the ground, other roots began to rapidly wrap around and trap him. Another one came rushing at him and Sevrin ducked as a spear was thrown their way. If Bri didn’t duck in time, he’d yank her down too.

Sevrin popped up again and caused plants and weeds to rapidly coil around another Chazrach’s leg, yanking it down and trapping it. He glanced over at Bri, hoping she could bring down the remaining two. Their best hope was using the environment to their advantage. The goal was to completely constrict them with plants enough to knock them out and throw them off the Jedi’s trail.

Through it all, Sevrin tried to ignore the pain, still not having taken the blade out of his shoulder.

Bri hurdled the same boulder as Sevrin, sliding and crouching down beside him. She caught the look of grimace on his face, undoubtedly feeling the pain from the knife still in his shoulder. The Knight responded with a slight pant of breath from the quick exertion. "Definitely not what I had in mind." She raised an eyebrow at the mention of an idea. I'm all ears.

Plant surge? I think I read about that in a book once..... "Uh, I think so. Never tried it though," She replied quickly, looking a little concerned about not being able to follow through with the Sephi's idea. Bri turned and watched Sevrin closely. A deep look of concentration and the crackling of wooden roots burst from the ground. A coil around a foot to begin, and as the Chazrach fell, more circled around him, like snakes immobilizing prey. Impressive.

From their flank, another attacker rushed a thrown spear at them. Bri was already on the way down, but felt the reassuring grasp of Sevrin's hand pulling her down quicker. More roots surrounded the spear-thrower, quickly incapacitating him as well. That left two remaining. No time like the present. Bri would have preferred a less stressful situation to practice a new ability with the Force, but stuck to her concentration. Feeling the same tranquil nature that she had been appreciating earlier. The trees, the bushes, and plants. The ground, the roots, the life.

The Jedi caught it. Just barely. Like fingertips gripping on to something pulling away. A few roots, more haphazardly appearing than Sevrin's, tripped up the next Chazrach, causing him to stumble comically to the ground. Bri breathed harder, as more foliage surrounded and blocked him. That left one remaining, and while Bri tried the same plant surge, the roots were too weak to stop the Chazrach running at them. The Jedi lept around the boulder, and ducked under a clawed swipe, before offering a swift left hook to the reptilian's head. Her fist connected with a satisfying thud, knocking him out cold.

"Oww," Bri shook her left hand, feeling the effects from the hard punch. She hopped back around to Sevrin and spotted the knife still in his shoulder. "We need to get that out," she sounded serious. "I think I can probably patch you up."

It was a good thing they were busy and Sevrin didn’t get a chance to realize Bri had actually never done this before. He had his two down and glanced over to see her progress. She had one down, but the other was still barreling towards them. Sevrin prepared the Force to launch an attack, but watched her take a much more direct approach.

A loud crunch erupted as Bri threw a solid left hook and knocked out the reptilian warrior. There was nothing but silence as Sevrin stared and blinked. He glanced over at her when she came back around to him, raising an eyebrow, “That was...impressive,” He remarked, his tone genuine. A hint of amusement glinted in his eye. If it got the job done, it was good enough for him.

Sevrin sighed as he looked at the knife, reaching over to yank it out. He couldn’t see how deep the wound went, but he could see it was bleeding profusely.

“How bad is it?” He grumbled, glancing at the knife to inspect just how buried it was to gauge the damage. Healing usually took a lot of energy and he wasn’t sure he could afford that when they had a ways to go.

“That was...impressive,”

Bri offered a short laugh in response. She grimaced again, still shaking her left hand. "Note for future reference, chazrach's are not soft to punch." Her evaluation was somewhat of an understatement, considering the dull pain that was very slowly dissipating from her knuckles. The brief interlude over, the Knight returned her attention to Sevrin's shoulder.

“How bad is it?”

Looking back and forth from the wound to Sevrin's face, Bri hedged her response. "Not that bad. I think I can manage," she sighed. There's a knife lodged in his shoulder, so the baseline is not great. A forming of a plan took over the Jedi's thoughts. She took the pack off her back, and knelt down next to the Sephi. Opening the bag, she fished out a small roll of bandages. "I think I can stop the bleeding with a bit of healing, and then use the bandages to keep the wound stabilized," Bri explained her plan, which sounded more like instruction. I hope that he's alright with not getting healed all the way. It'd probably take up too much Force energy for the rest of the day.

"This might hurt a little,"
Bri frowned, placing a firm hand on the handle of the lodged knife. I hope he's alright with the quick action, but we don't really have that much time to mess around here. "Ready? 3...2...1...," the Knight pulled the handle quickly, leaving the Sephi's shoulder with an unsatisfying thlurp. Immediately following, Bri placed her left hand over the now open wound and closed her eyes. Breathing deeply inward, then outward. Inward and outward. She concentrated on the Force energy flowing between them, willing it to begin to mend the gaping wound. Inward and outward. Slowly the tissue began to heal and the rivulets of blood ceased.

As the wound became less severe, Bri reopened her eyes and nodded in seeming satisfaction. It wasn't fully healed, but enough to keep Sevrin out of immediate danger, and return some mobility to his arm. Needing to get down to his skin to apply the bandage, she asked, "mind taking your sleeve off so I can get the wrap on?"

Sevrin glanced down at her knuckles which looked red, but not broken thankfully, “Clearly improvising ought to be a critical lesson for Jedi,” It was difficult again to tell whether he was serious or being sarcastic, his face always somewhat serious. Some of his padawans certainly tried to do everything by the rulebook and often ended up failing to adapt to situations rapidly.

He looked at her as she rattled off what she was about to do and all the lead up to pulling the knife out. Amusement danced in his eyes as a single eyebrow rose, “I believe you are more concerned about this than I am. Rest assur-Ouch,” He grimaced slightly as the knife was pulled out. Sevrin felt her touch and the healing that ensued. He closed his eyes and briefly layered his hand over hers to assist with the healing. He was still a bit more taxed from his earlier Force use and could only help a little.

The Sephi drew his hand away, glancing down at her blood stained hand. Sevrin was more than a little displeased to put her through this, but he kept his thoughts to himself. When she asked about removing his sleeve, he glanced up to look at her, eyes slightly wide.

“Are you...certain that I...must?” He muttered pathetically, often a bit shy about removing any articles of clothing. However, he could also understand when he was being unreasonable in a dire situation. Sevrin didn’t need much more than a look from her before he reached over and began to undo the top layer of his robes.

Sevrin pushed his clothing aside enough to reveal just the top of his shoulder and the juncture of his chest where the knife was wedged in. He had the toned torso of a battle hardened warrior, old saber burns marking his skin here and there. The Sephi pointedly looked away to allow her to work, scowling at a tree as if it had done him some great wrong.

“Thank you,” He said quietly, still looking at the tree, “With luck the rest of our journey will be without incident.”

He wasn’t banking on it.

As Bri pressed her hand against Sevrin's wound, she felt his hand layer on top, providing the additional support of his own abilities with the Force. It was not much, but welcome nonetheless. The wound had fully stabilized and Bri offered a knowing glance after her Jedi colleague had attempted to downplay the injury, before succumbing to an 'ouch.'

“Are you...certain that I...must?”

The woman was a little surprised by the change in demeanor of Sevrin, seemingly very worried about the potential of having his shoulder exposed. I hope I didn't just commit some kind of Sephi cultural faux-pas. "Oh," she started, sounding a little taken aback. "Well, its just that the wound will hold better if the bandages are tightly wrapped." Sevrin eventually relented and removed the articles of clothing from his injured side, giving Bri a clearer look at the wound. The Jedi peered over to make sure there was no puncture on the man's back, but all looked good.

Bri proceeded to loop the bandages, over, under, and around Sevrin's arm, ensuring tight compression was maintained on the injury. The Jedi was no expert medic, but tried to keep as gentle as possible, knowing that it certainly would not be a pleasant feeling. She also spotted that the Sephi kept his glaze firmly away from her working. Maybe he gets squeamish?

A few moments later, the wound was compressed under the bandages, and Bri stood back up, nodding in admiration of her work. "No problem, how does it feel?" she asked, tidying up the stray items back into her pack. "Here's to that," she added with a smile, and friendly sounding chuckle. I really hope so.
