This was an interesting one, the leaders of Klatooine were his scheduled meeting this day. A fully independent planet connecting with the Senator, historically their planet had been subjugated by the Hutts for thousands of years, only in the last hundred years or so have they become independent of that, but still very dependent on the support of others. The planet had a weak domestic product, but that was little concern to Vaz, as long as they could foot the bill for the fleet Vaz intended to sell them, he didn't care. Funneling credits into the Republic had been his game lately, and he was becoming a striking success. The people of Kuat were prospering, and even the Republic as a whole had already started to feel the relief of Vaz's successful trades.
Finally the light turned green and started spinning, they were docking now.. Vaz stood excited on his hovering pram, as the airlock behind the door equalized pressure. When it gave way, Vaz looked upon the eight Klatooinians that stood opposite him. Hello, thank you for making what I'm sure was a long trip to meet with me here.. if you'd be so kind as to allow my security team to remove your weapons, so we can begin... Vaz said his well rehersed line that he had stated many times before.
Once the search was completed Vaz would direct the pram to hover into the office he'd had prepared for them, this time eight chairs were set out on the opposite side while Vaz hovered to his side of the large desk and stepped off the pram onto the desk. So then.. I understand you're in the market for a defensive fleet, did you have an inkling toward what you were hoping to aquire? Vaz would ask, once again he had multiple pucks placed about the desk displaying holograms of some of the KDY, and its subsidiaries, more appetizing products..
We need a fleet, something capable of protecting our planet.. One of the men would say, as he opened his brief case and supplied the paperwork to Vaz that indicated the budget for this transaction.
Vaz looked it over, the number was higher than he had assumed a planet such as theirs would be capable of investing in such a venture, likely they were pulling out the stops to prevent any future subjugation of their homeworld.
Very good.. Vaz would reply as he turned to his datapad, and began pressing buttons and typing, comparing the budget to the ship's prices and formatting a best case scenario given the financial capability. Vaz would stay in thought as he put together a sizeable list, comparing profit margins, and currently available ships ready for transfer.
Firepower.. lots of it.. the man would interrupt Vaz's work, Never again will our homeworld bow to an outside force.. the man added.
Vaz had grown used to the work, and not long after provided a rough draft of a build.. spinning the datapad around for the man to see, Given your budget and the size of the order, I am prepared to offer your organization a four percent discount.. Vaz watched the men smile as they looked down at the invoice he had provided.. this made Vaz smile, though he kept that to himself... it seemed, business was good..
Ships with hangars will come equipped with the standard X eighty-three TwinTail starfighter. I assume that'll be sufficient, given their efficiency. Vaz added as they mumbled amongst themselves.
