Officially, Coruscant is being taken care of until Senator Loker has retired or deemed incapable of recovering from his injuries. He's gonna do one of those neuro surgery threads, or something like that. I forget the name of it.

The deaths and veggie-state only went to human senators, Bac said, but there were other races that would be injured, or put in the hospital maybe from bleeding ears and such.

But I more specifically meant that the position would stay with them, but it could be filled by someone else while he's recovering? If that makes sense.

None of those races would have to have extensive hospital stays; we can't just assume they would. The logical thing for the alien senators would be for them to have short stays in the hospital - which would not require them to need a replacement in the Senate, especially since the Senate isn't convening and the government is in tatters.

More specifically for your character, though, I don't think he'd really be able to stay in the Senate. As I said in my ruling, you're alive and functional, but you still have brain damage, you're confined to a wheelchair, etc. Odds are your senator would retire or be asked to step aside for someone who can fully perform their job.
