OOC: Note we are protected from 4 pulses

The shuttle slipped through history. Remnants of the past flashed by the view ports, forgotten by the present. The Clone Wars had ravaged the galaxy. Ripped apart the Jedi Order. Gave birth to the Empire. Yet, the Jedi, the Republic, and all the rest had suffered so much since the Clone Wars seemed a distance memory. A century past and those pains were forgotten. How could you hold onto those memories when the Rebellion and the First Order flooded recent history? The mind could only house so much pain.

Councilor Alexandria Voran sat at the controls of her shuttle, piloting through time. She was nearly a hundred years old. She remembered the uncertainty of the galaxy after the fall of the First Order. The Jedi told stories of the Rebellion…but the Clone Wars escaped her. They were before her time. She knew her history, she even knew a Jedi who fought in them, but the rest was lost. The Morellian Councilor was certain of salient fact. One searing truth that entered her thoughts while she flew through the graveyard. They would not repeat these mistakes. She would not watch the Order descended into chaos again. Alex was here for a specific purpose.

Crix found a holocron that lead the Order to this forgotten battlefield. The holocron called out to another…one locked away on a wrecked Venator. A forgotten Jedi General called to them, offering aid they must have. Unfortunately, the dangers of the past resisted. Alex had the benefit of the Order’s greatest resources. The shuttle and their technology were shielded from the electromagnetic pulses. She knew it would only last so long. Time was of the essences.

Her gaze shifted down as the nav system buzzed. They were close. She flipped on the coms to her companions in the hull. “We are near.” Alex took a deep breath. She burst alight with the Force, a blazing tempest in the darkness of space. Only one option remained to land on the Venator. The typical boarding tubes were all derelict from years of disuse. They had to land in the hanger and make their way towards the holocron. She took another deep breath. The shuttle slide smoothly into the hanger, landing with the customary hiss. Alex stood walking quickly towards the back of the shuttle. Her wore her full armor. Today, the careful diplomat Alexandria Voran was gone. They were here to do a job…one she intended to complete.

Hal's ruminations lacked the historical nuance of Alexandria's own, but the Knight could hardly be blamed for the sense of excitement that bubbled within his stomach as he stared out at the derelict Venator. As a child growing up in the slums of Taris, he'd been regaled with stories and legends of famous spacers and warriors, but the ones that had always stood out to him were those of the Jedi Knights. Many of the stories had likely been fabricated, but he remembered one that had been told to him by a Twi'lek pilot in his father's repair shop. He'd recited the legend of Mace Windu and Cham Syndulla in the Battle of Lessu, who'd stormed the city's energy bridge and retaken Ryloth against overwhelming odds. The pilot alleged that his great-great grandfather had served alongside Syndulla's freedom fighters, and the story had been passed down from generation to generation.

Such stories of Jedi valor had stuck with Hal ever since, though he'd found that his own tenure as a Knight had gone far differently than the fabled Knights of old. Yet he was inspired by them all the same. Where Alexandria wisely recognized the horrors that had been brought by the Clone Wars and steeled herself, Hal found himself eager to prove himself amidst the ruins of the Old Republic. He was, however, still a trained Jedi Knight, and would never allow such fleeting feelings of nostalgia to interfere with his mission.

As Alexandria returned from the cockpit, she found Hal performing last-minute checks of his equipment. His usual companion - the droid Em-One - had been left behind on this mission due to the pulses, but in every other sense he'd come prepared. He wore light plastoid reinforcements over his traditional regalia, allowing for the speed and mobility required for Form V techniques while still providing some semblance of protection. His lightsaber was hooked low on his waist like a quickdraw holster, providing him with the fastest-possible access to his blade, and a small rebreather had been strung to his suit in case of atmospheric depressurization.

"I've always dreamed of setting foot on a Venator." Hal remarked as the shuttle touched down. "I mean, even after all these centuries it's still... beautiful." He glanced over at his two companions and gave them each a quick once-over. Even though he wasn't in charge of this mission, he still felt some obligation to ensure they were both mentally and physically prepared. He shot them a quick grin of reassurance. "You guys good to go? I'm ready when you are."

Space had always excited this young Wookiee. The Padawan, Wurfuhlla had been tasked to this mission to make sure they secure a holocron from old times. Back in the Clone Wars, a Jedi had left a holocron aboard this ship. It was the job of the Master, Knight, Padawan trio to regain the control of it and report back to the council with their findings. A hefty task. The place, although beautiful, was indeed dangerous and anything can happen to this group of individuals.

When the ship had been brought in by Master Voran, the Wookiee stood and prepared to leave the shuttle and enter the Venator. The other Jedi, the Knight had looked over Wurfuhlla and then smiled asking if everyone was in fact ready to begin this mission. There was only one thing Wurfuhlla could think of when he though of answering, and he would say it aloud in Shyriiwook.

"Yes, never been more ready in my life."

The Wookiee Padawan would then turn his focus to the door as it opened leading the trio of Jedi into the likes of the hangar of the Venator. The Wookiee would follow the Master Jedi after taking a deep breath and mentally preparing himself to see history with his very own eyes.

Alex shook her head slowly. “It will not be a dream, Jedi Mikko, but a nightmare.” She could feel the uncertainty in the Force. The centuries of pain unfaded. Nothing was meant to survive this long alone. They could not know what they were about to face. “The pulses will eventually erode our defenses, so we must move quickly.” Her mind stretched out again. Something felt wrong. There was no organic life on the derelict capital ship. That was unmistakable…but it did not feel empty. “There is a chance we are not alone.” Alex nodded to each of them. She had to trust Wuffuhlla and Hal. There would be no babysitting today. “Stay vigilant.” With that she lowered the landing ramp and strode into the hangar.

The Jedi walked into a forgotten era. The remnants of the Clone Wars were scattered about the hangar. Troop transports, fighters, blaster blackened droids. The hallmarks of the war eagerly greeting them. She supposed there was deep reflection she could consider. The parallels of the Clone Wars and what they faced now. She did not have time. Another day she would mediate on the choices the Council had made then and what she suggested now. Alex’s mind reached out for the Holocron. They had general schematics but that only got them so far. The Holocron would sing in the Light, she would know it when her mind touched. Something was still wrong as she searched. The Force was muddled.

Still, Alex was fairly certain she understood the general direction they needed to travel. “This way.” She pointed towards one set of double doors. That was the right direction. She just could not know the droids that awaited them on that path. Soon, the Jedi would discover exactly what remained on this forgotten land.

Hal's boots echoed against the durasteel floors of the Venator. It shouldn't have been a problem, since they were the only lifeforms detected onboard, but he couldn't shake the feeling that they were being loud. Too loud. And that intuitive feeling was a good indicator that something was amiss. So were the dozens of corpses strewn across the hangar - that was almost never a good sign.

"If there's anything still onboard this ship, they've been getting hit by these pulses for hundreds of years." Hal replied to Master Voran, though he didn't disagree with her assertion. "I doubt anything short of a B2 could've survived." He'd never met the Councillor before, but considering that she hadn't been a member when he'd departed on his mission to the Red Nebula, the promotion spoke to her competence. She certainly seemed to be the business type. Hal didn't have a problem following someone like that.

As Alexandria led them up towards the double doors, Hal's hand slipped down to grasp the hilt of his lightsaber. He couldn't shake the feeling that something, somewhere, was off. He didn't doubt her skill - or for that matter, the Wookiee padawan's either - but at the end of the day, it was Hal himself that had the least to lose should something go wrong. Alexandria was a member of the Council, and Wurfuhlla was little more than a child by Wookiee standards, but Hal... he was merely a Knight, and hardly one of repute at that.

If there was to be a fight, Hal intended to be at the front. Where he belonged.

The ship was large, and everything inside it was so different than he was used to. So much technology. The broken things all over and scrap lying about had been collecting dust for some time. The Wookiee was in awe of what the Clone Wars had looked like for the Jedi before them. So much has been accomplished from ships just like this and he was taking in the sight of the every day life of a clone trooper.

"If there is something still here, we need to find it. Maybe study and use it to the advantage of the Jedi?"

Of course this may have just been a Padawan trying to be hopeful in a serious situation. This was his first mission without his master present. It was good to be able to do such missions and prove his place in the Order, so now the Wookiee followed Master Voran and Knight Mikko into the Venator to find the holocron left from years past.

"What's a B2?"

OOC: Pulse Wave One

The ship was silent save for the sounds of the Jedi. Alex could not shake the feeling creeping up her back. They should be alone. All the sense in the world told her they were alone. The Force disagreed. There was a constant whisper of concern in the back of her mind. Each step that little hum grew louder. She kept her posture loose and her face smooth. Her mind was locked behind impossibly tall barriers. Her concern was real but until a real danger arose there was no need to worry Hal or Wurfuhlla.

“Old Clone War era droids, a step above the basic models you see in the holos.” She turned to look at her team. “But there is another class capable of surviving this long…IG-100s.” The Force seemed to resonate more strongly in her mind. “They were designed specifically to combat Jedi, but the galaxy hasn’t seen one in centuries.” Alex certainly never had. The Force spiked alarm. She took a deep breath. “Brace yourself.” They could almost hear the pulse as it ripped through the ship. As it passed over the Jedi, the hair on the back of her neck stood tall. Their shields held…for now. They needed to pick up the pace. “We need to hurry.”

Alex started pushing the pace. The Jedi could not afford to waste time. She knew the general direction they needed to go and lead them quickly towards the Holocron. They turned down one hall and then another, finally closing in on the quarters. A pair of double doors shuddered open revealing another hallway. Fuck. As the doors cracked open, the Force screamed in Alex’s mind. She had barely a half second to react before she saw what was beyond. The very thing she had warned Hal and Wurfuhlla. Shuttered, sputtering, insane IG-100s. Slowly, they turned as the door creaked open. Alex struck without a second thought. The Force ripping from her hands, throwing the doors off their moorings and slamming into the IG-100s. Some went flying, others toppled over, the doors sliced a set in half. Her saber hilt snapped into her hand, the indigo blade igniting as she marched forward. “Find the holocron.” Her tone was not a request but an order.

The tingling sensation in the back of Hal's mind crescendoed. It was as if his body could feel the danger of the incoming pulse, and when the wave of energy bombarded his protective shield, Hal grimaced. Like a door caving in, he could feel the device spluttering under the electromagnetic force it had been subjected to. His mechanic's intuition was unparalleled - they could take two, maybe three more hits like that, but then they were toast. Irradiated toast. Hal gritted his teeth as the hair on his neck stood up, and his gut churned.

"I figure we can take two more hits like that tops, three if we're lucky." Hal informed the others the moment he'd regained his composure. The Knight had a laidback demeanor to him, his calmness betrayed only by a tinge of firmness in his face and the deliberate movement of his eyes, always looking for trouble, ever vigilant. "If Wurf's fur starts lookin' spiky, that's when we can panic." He shot the Wookiee apprentice a shit-eating grin to let him know it was all in good fun before they picked up the pace.

Hal had sensed trouble the moment he'd stepped onboard the ship, yet he was still taken aback at the sudden chaos that ensued. The IG-100s were a surprise he hadn't anticipated. He didn't feel Alexandria flinch through the Force - the Master had already leapt into action, ripping the door off of its rails and throwing it into the oncoming swarm - but his reaction was only a millisecond slower. His lightsaber flew into his outstretched hand and illuminated his face cobalt. His eyes narrowed. Time slowed as adrenaline coursed through his veins, and the Force crackled through him like a thunderbolt. His easygoing persona vanished in an instant.

"It's dead ahead, I can feel it." He could sense the holocron ahead of them as a faint presence in the Force. There was a chance there was another hallway that led to it, but a moment of concentration gleaned nothing. He needed to make a decisive choice, and he wasn't gonna risk them splitting up to find another path if there was a chance it could end in vain. No. They would fight together. If either of his companions sensed another way to the holocron, Hal would have to trust their judgement, but for now this was the only option he saw.

He turned to Wurfuhlla. "I'll clear a path for you Padawan - get to the holocron. I'll be right behind you when you make it through." With that, the Knight leapt into battle. He landed a few meters ahead, and brought his saber down just in time to bisect an IG-100 as it struggled to regain its footing. Another swung its electro-staff at him in a downwards diagonal slash, but Hal deftly weaved beneath the strike, bringing his blade under the droid's guard and through its torso, before bringing it back down in a two-handed strike that reduced the droid to two molten piles of slag.

A Magna Guard had regained its footing a few meters ahead, and was quickly making its way towards the Jedi trio. Hal reached out his hand and felt the Force wrap around its frame like a vice and lift it off the floor. With a flick of his arm he hurled the machine into one of its companions, knocking them both over, and Hal rushed forward to take advantage of the situation. With any luck, his overly-aggressive presence would draw the swarm's attention away from the Wookiee. Once the Padawan broke through, Hal planned on guarding his back, and he trusted that Master Voran had his.

The deactivated and destroyed droids lying about had been enough to keep Wurfuhlla on edge. The history of the Clone Wars was enough to scare the Padawan. Not to mention the fact that Master Voran had mentioned that Magna Guards were possibly still in existence. The Wookiee was strong but his skill level in combat was more than likely not on par with a group of droids made for killing force using opponents.

Just then Master Voran had encountered the very Magna Guards that had been swirling through the mind of Wurfuhlla for the past few minutes. She was able to send some of the Magna Guards into a droid heaven of some sort as the others fell on the ground and readied for battle. She had given the other two Jedi an order to make it to the holocron. After all once the group had it in their possession, they can get off the ship and make it back home.

"Will do Master!"

Not too far after that, Knight Mikko had opened a pathway for Wurfuhlla to run through. This was all happening so fast, and the Padawan was slightly overwhelmed by the way this is all happening. Nevertheless, he would do his best to keep up. As the Wookiee started running towards the opening created by Mikko, he was able to force push a couple Magna Guards out of the way to make it to the entry way.

"Come on! We need to hurry!!"

The Force roared through Alex. Her blade spinning easily in her right hand. She barely had time to register Hal leaping in beside her. The Councilor shook her head. Why did no one ever listen? The Jedi headstrong Knight had the right idea. Clear a path for Wurfuhlla and they could fall in behind him. All that mattered was they find that holocron and get it off this damn ship. Alex was forced to face the cards they were delt. She did her best to keep the droid in front of her…and more importantly away from Hal and Wurfuhlla. Her eyes swept the hallway. She’d lost count of the number of droids. Where were they coming from?

Years of being hammered by the pulses had made their movements slow…jerky…but there was no denying they had been created to kill Jedi. Those skills remained drilled into their datacores. Alex blocked a staff, whipped out her blade to slice into a chest, and scanned the hallway again. They were running out of time. Another block…she was a fraction too slow and felt a fist impact her side. Her armor groaned as breath was driven from her lungs. The Morellian Councilor frowned. Another metal fist impacted her side. There was too many. Her blade whipped side to side, showers of parks cascading down the hallways. Grim determination gripped her heart. She’d had enough of this.

Electricity rippled through the droids. It came off their haphazard movements in wave. The pulses had revealed the worst of those inner workings. Alex reached for that power in the Force. It was no different than calling the storms. The lightning just came from a different place. She reached for it and found the elements responding to her touch. Her left hand balled into a fist and electricity leapt from the droid, that same hand flashed out and sent the lightning cascading down the corridor. It struck droid after droid, bouncing off them in spectacular fashion…but Councilor Voran had been foolish. She’d failed to ground herself completely. Her let hand ached with electrical burns and she’d lost focus. A stunbaton slammed into her from the side, driving Alex to her knees. Another crashed into her shoulder…pain riding through her. Her eyes locked onto the others. “Go!” Her failure could not become their failure. Alex flicked the com on her waist with the Force, a distress signal going out to the nearby teams. They needed the help.

Crix had been on his way back from his mission with Yvain to liberate some of the ARC fighters that had been stranded within the hanger of one of the Star Destroyers when he received the message on his com unit. A distress beacon going out was not usual during most Jedi missions but he would be damned if he left this one to go unanswered.

"Bring me to the closest docking ring of that ship."
he commanded his pilot droid, Red Lancer, "After that head back without me - I'll catch a ride back with the team on the ship."

The Venator looked like a damned ghost ship and, he supposed, it was. Even though he didn't have the first holocron on his person so he couldn't sense it through the Force, Crix was aware that it was in that same ghost ship. Councillor Voran and a team had gone in search of it and he was beginning to worry he had sent them into a task too big for them to truly achieve alone.

Red Lancer didn't use a docking tube however because there was no need - instead landing the shuttle in the open hanger bay. Crix didn't much care either way and took off at speed into the ship itself. Following both the Force and his knowledge of the Venator (he had read up on them prior to the mission), Crix sped through the hallways with almost reckless speed. Force Speed was almost never a good idea in combat but to close large distances it was a requirement.

Spotting droids, sparking, insane, droids converging on a position he had an idea as to what had gone wrong.

"Master!"

Calling out to Alex, Crix charged into the fray, Force Speed slowing down as he came into range, bringing his lightsaber up to block a downward staff-slash aimed at her face. Pushing the staff back, he used a kick as a focus for a Force Push to send the droid tumbling into it's fellows. He held out his free hand to Alex.

"No time to be resting, Master."
he forced himself to joke, lightsaber still held up between himself and the droids, "Need you to watch my back."

Alex grimaced as another stun baton whammed into her leg. She was forced into a corner, barely managing to stay upright. For every strike she blocked, one found purchase. It was only the Force that kept her body from collapsing. Alex caught a strike on her saber, felt another coming from her side, and pumped the Force into her left hand. It shimmered as she struck out to grab the baton, a thin sheen of the Force between her hand and the weapon. Her eyes locked on the droid about to slam the staff into her face. Fuck.

The blow never came. Her eyes flipped open, finally seeing Crix standing beside her, his saber between the staff and her pretty face. She had been so consumed with the fighting she failed to sense him coming. Relief flooded the Councilor. The Force burst from the young Jedi Knight, sending the droids tumbling back down the halls. Alex’s smile of exhausted relief was genuine. “I have never been so happy to hear a bad joke.” Her muscles ached, there was bruise forming on the side of her face from a punch, and her robes were in tatters. Luckily, her armor had mostly held. The formidable Jedi Councilor looked anything but in that moment. The droid were beginning to marshal themselves again. She’d had enough of beat up.

Alex brought forth what remained of her strength. Her pull power in the Force. She worked quickly, building it in her left hand and lashing out with a powerful blast. It was not elegant or clever, but it was effective. The determination of a Jedi Councilor was a sight to behold. The Force ripped down the hallways, slamming into the droids, and sending them hurling back. Droids broke apart, slammed walls, and eventually stopped moving all together. Alex nodded in satisfaction. “There will be more, we need to get to the holocron.” Taking a deep breath to push aside her injuries, she continued marching quickly towards their destination. “And Crix, it’s damn good to see you.” They were close. They just needed to survive long enough to get in and out.

Well that cemented it didn't it? Crix had been playing up his light-hearted demeanor for some time now and it had always been with the view to ensuring that people were relieved when he showed up. After all, if he showed up all anxious and worried then they would see it and be worried themselves. So, instead, Crix did his best to rock up to every battle with a smile firmly in place and a bad joke on his tongue.

And it seemed to be working as intended.

"I'll thank you to remember that my jokes are awesome."
he joked back as Alex managed to scatter the last of the droids that had been concerning them, "What can I say Master Alex - when I get a "u up" message from you, I come running."

Ah more jokes to stave off the building sense of dread and awe that was beginning to build up as they ran through the halls of the deserted ship. Reaching a set of blast doors, Crix eyed the thick durasteel of the doors for a moment before moving over to the console connected to them for opening.

It was sparking.

"Alright, gonna need to do this the old fashioned way then."

Thrusting his lightsaber forward, he began to sink the incredibly hot blade into the centre of the locked doors. With how these kinds of doors locked, it would be the actual lock that he was burning through. As he was doing this, the metal beginning to heat up, he heard a sound that Jedi across the Clone Wars had dreaded and he had heard recently in the hanger of the Venator.

"Destroyer droids incoming - keep them off me, yeah?"

Thankfully there was only one corridor leading toward the blast doors and the frequent pulses had caused the shielding units to fluctuate madly but that was where the good news ended because there were no fewer than eighteen of the damned droidika making their way into firing range in their ball forms.

Meanwhile..

Running through the corridors is the young Wookiee Wurfuhlla. He had been searching room after room after room for the holocron but he was coming up short. Very short. He could feel it's presence, though he wasn't sure where it was located. The need to hurry was keeping him from focusing on where it was. His mind racing, thoughts filling his brain, clouding his judgement. This was not the Jedi way, he knew that, but how could he keep calm when every Jedi on this ship could die any second now?

"Where is it? Where is it??"

After searching through a few corridors and still not finding it, he decided it was time to go against what he feeling. He needed to stop, clear his mind, and focus. It would be difficult, especially with droids roaming about. But it needed to be done. In the middle of the corridor, he knelt down. Closed his eyes, and began to focus on the feeling from the holocron. It had to be somewhere, he was sensing it. He could feel the warmth from the batteries of the droids, he could feel the breaths of his fellow Jedi, he could feel the pulses they needed to watch out for. Then finally, he felt it. The holocron had called to him this time, he felt where it was. Just down the hall, the last room to the left. It had to be.

Opening his eyes, he'd see a B2 Battle Droid standing in front of him, with a blaster arm pointed directly at his head. This was not good. Maybe Wurfuhlla should think his decisions through moving forward. It was a mistake he had made but he now knew where the holocron was. Though, it wouldn't matter much if he died here to a droid of all things.

Their lives were in danger. The Jedi were in the middle of a Clone War graveyard surrounded by deranged droids. Crix had been part of the nearest rescue team. Still, Alex could not resist the eye roll that came. Hilarious.” Her persona inside the Temple and in the field shifted as the situation required. There were no Padawans to train here. Even Wurfuhlla she treated as equal. On these missions, there was little room for Councilor Voran, they needed Alex. The Jedi who would see them to safety no matter the cost…with eye rolls along the way.

Alex kept her senses spread wide as they ran through the ship. The door in their way certainly was annoying. Vaguely, she was aware of their counter parts making their way through the ship. Two teams had a better chance than one. She had to trust the others could handle themselves. There was nothing she could do for them in this moment. As Crix began to cut through the locks a familiar sound ripple through the hallway. Alex frowned. “Somehow this is your fault.” The past continued to assault the Jedi. How many Knights had lost their lives to the rolling form of droidikas? They would not add to that number. The Morellian Jedi stepped forward as the balls rolled into view.

Before they could active their shields, a sweep of her hand sent a few clattering into each other, tumbling in a pile of scraps. The rest rolled into firing range before she could act. Their shields popped up as they began to fire. Alex sunk deeply into the Force. Her blade cut beautiful arcs through the air as she batted bolts back. The ones that she couldn’t catch on her blade slammed into quick barriers in the Force. Alex was immovable. Her eyes focused on the droids as Crix did his work. The shield flickered. Years aboard the ship made them unreliable. She smiled.

Bolts began to hum back towards the destroyer droids. Her blade moved expertly to flick those bolts between the shield flickers. They did not all hit home but slowly the droids began to drop. A small bead of sweat dripped down her forehead. “Any day now.”

Ah it was nice to be recognized for his comedic genius.

Of course with his lightsaber shoved right into the door up to the hilt, it was hard for Crix to really assist Alex with her attempts to keep them both safe from the destroyer droids. He would, normally, have been able to assist but, well, his blade was kind of stuck in the middle of a very tight grip and oh god that sounded so much worse when he thought about it like that.

"Probably!"
he confirmed with a grunt as he moved his blade, wiggling it around in the hot hole he had thrust it into, "Just whip it out and wave it around until they're cowed I guess!"

Okay so he was absolutely doing it on purpose at this point.

With a twist of his wrist and a grunt of effort, his blade hit the sweet spot and the doors opened up with a brief spray of the hot metal. He managed to avoid getting a faceful of it with a wave of the Force in front of his face before sending it launching at the destroyer droids, frying some of the more delicate components of the droids in question.

"Satisfied, Alex?"
he joked as he batted a bolt back at a destroyer himself, "We need to keep moving or else they might be able to call reinforcements."

Unlikely but he really didn't want to find out.

“Your jokes should keep them at bay.” Alex batted another bolt back. The droids were dwindling as the doors finally slid open. “Nothing can survive them too long.” Sarcasm in the face of certain death. It was a Jedi trademark. “We are running out of time.” The droid would swarm any organic matter. The pulses kept them haphazard for a time, but it would only last so long. Soon they would be facing an army they simply could not defeat. Alex reached in the Force. She felt Wurfuhlla searching and pushed on the young Jedi’s mind. Hopefully, that would be enough to draw him to them.

Her senses quickly expanded over the ship. She had lost her bearings for a moment. She felt the call on the holocron. “I can feel the holocron…we’re close.” She took off passed the cracked door, the Force fueling her run. She trusted Crix to keep up. The young Knight was skilled beyond his years. In short order, she could feel the humming of the holocron. A standard door stood close before them. Alex could feel the locking mechanism, a twist of the Force sent the door opening. She stepped inside. Once Crix joined her, she reached out in the Force again. Danger rang loudly against her sense. Nails grating across durasteel. “Fry the doors. That should buy us some time…maybe keep an eye out if the others reach us. I won’t leave them undefended.”

They were in the commander’s quarters there was no doubting that fact. The Jedi Generals of old had command the military might of the Old Republic. The dead Jedi had been commander of the ship. Her eyes were immediately drawn to the center of the room. The holocron floated above a small durasteel pedestal, floating as if waiting for them. It called to them. “Amazing.” For a moment, Alexandria Voran was awestruck.

Weapons grade jokes? Not until he managed to get down Force Bellow to such a degree that he was able to perform a knock-knock joke with some degree of proficiency. Was it technically impossible for someone of his race? Absolutely. Was it going to stop him from trying?

Was it hell.

"Oh we're running out of time? Nice to see you only call me when you need me to hurry things along."
he teased Alex as they pressed forward, "One of these days I might take offence to that."

Not likely.

Running after Alex was half an exercise of the muscles and half in the Force and it was tiring for the young man either way - she was able to really keep going for an older lady. There was a joke he could make about that but he was busy trying to keep up and was already having trouble doing so at full speed. He groaned a little bit when they stopped and he was immediately asked to fry the doors.

Run here, do this, do that... this Knight stuff was hard work.

"Aye aye boss."

Moving over to a set of security doors, he opened them to see if they even worked first, eyes widening as he opened it to the back of a B2 Battledroid aiming at a Wookiee. His lightsaber cut the droid in half before he was even really aware of what he was doing. Spotting Wurfuhlla staring, he grinned at the Jedi.

"Come one dude - bus is leaving soon."
he joked, calling out to Alex, "Found Wurfuhlla! We got what we came for? We happy?"

It was so fast. The droid had his blaster in front of Wurfuhlla ready to shoot and then a lightsaber had cut right through the droid immediately. The Wookiee was still stunned by the image of his life almost gone. So many memories of his short life, and he could have just been done that quickly. Then he came to and saw Crix looking at him. Why the last time Wurfuhlla had seen Crix was when they were both Padawans and with Sevrin in the jungles. That was a scary day, though now it looks like Crix can handle himself far better than he did then. Maybe the Wookiee could learn a thing or two.

"Okay.."

Wurfuhlla was able to let it out quietly as he was shocked he could've been gone. Now he stood to his feet and followed the horned man with face tattoos to meet with Master Voran who was leading this party of Jedi. Looked like they found the Holocron before the Padawan could. A good thing they did as it seemed that the ship needed the Jedi off as soon as possible.

Alex stared at the holocron. Warmth buzzed in the Force, a welcoming Light beckoning her forward. Wow. The Morellian Jedi was smartly broken from her revere by Crix’s shout. What was she doing? Her head snapped around to see the Knight pulling the young Wookie Padawan into the room. Her eyes opened wide in surprise. Well, that was fortuitous. Alex took a deep breath and grabbed the holocron. It sang in her hand. The Force urging her to hear the song of the dead. Not now, safely when they were back in the Temple. She pulled a bag from her robes, carefully placed the holocron inside, and slung the thing over her shoulder. “Happy and free of blaster bolt holes.” She eyed the door.

“We better keep it that way.” Alex could still feel Hal out there near their shuttle. She had to trust the Jedi Knight could make it back safely. She clicked the coms on. “Jedi Mikko, we have received the holocron. Make your way back to the shuttle we will meet you there…may the Force be with you.” He would be fine. She knew that. Crix, Alex and Wurfuhlla had drawn the attention away from Hal. He would have little resistance. Her focus returned to the task at hand. The Force hammered warnings in the back of her mind. “We are going to have to run.” Alex took a deep breath.

“We’re in the nearest hangar bay. Crix you lead the way, Wurfuhlla you must stay close behind. I’ll follow to hold them off.” She looked at the bag on her shoulder, nodding slowly. Alex took the bag off and handed it to Crix. “This must be returned to the temple.” One more deep breath and she sunk even deeper into the Force. Her body was bruised and battered, her armor failing, but they were nearly free of this graveyard. “Whenever you’re ready.” She would see them out safely.
