The pair of nobles argued back and forth, causing an internal groan to radiate under the Echani's breath. Browne was a moderately powerful man on Allenteen, but he could clearly see how quickly his power and authority would wane, going from his position to that hidden beneath layers of imperial bureaucracy.

Browne sat there quietly contemplating the latest offer. It was a subtle threat laced with a promise, but a threat nonetheless. Caelian walked slowly, making his way past the corner of the lord's desk and placing himself just behind the man without making a sound. Caerllion would see a pair of hands come to rest upon Browne's shoulders, causing the latter to shudder under the now very real threat.

"Of..Of course, they would. But they wouldn't know what to do with such a position, you need someone with my experience and reach." They'd successfully rattled the man and brought him around to their side, at least for now. All Caer needed to do now was lay out the terms and ensure the man became complicit in their plan, to ensure that he wouldn't budge the minute the Sith left the room.

Somehow he'd have to convince the rest of the barons to go along with the plan, but once that was done they would have one of three of the necessary components to secure the world for the Empire. Caelian smiled, with only his companion able to see.

Caerllion remained in silence while Browne contemplated what the Annfyn had said. The Champion knew very well that the baron wouldn't tolerate another person picking the position of planetary governor. The only question was going to be how he would react to that veiled threat.

When Caelian rose from his seat, the Annfyn did the same. By giving the impression that they were going away with nothing more to be discussed, the baron would feel pressured enough to give them an answer. Hopefully it would be something positive, rather than violence.

He smiled discreetly when Browne finally spoke. Caerllion’s words had the desired effect and the baron now wanted the position of governor. Only a fool would ignore the opportunity of being promoted to such a role. It would give him more power and wealth than what he already had.

I assume that you would be the right person for it, isn’t it?” Caerllion said, after having turned to stare at the man. “If it was the case, I agree. Someone with your experience would be perfect for this position. Would you be interested in discussing more about it? Or is this offer still too small for you?

The noble lord looked quickly between the two Sith with some hesitation, a small gulp while trying to maintain his composure. He couldn't refuse now, even if he wasn't entirely properly entertaining their offer. Nodding along the man stood and spoke again. Perhaps a distraction would be warranted to get the pair off his back and onto someone else's.

"Come, you should meet my family and the other nobles. I will introduce you and give you each the opportunity to see what you're working with." Caelian looked towards Caerllion to see his reaction before lifting his hand towards the door in apparent acceptance.

"He's a reluctant ally, we could use him for our initial means but long term he will only get in the way." The Echani made no show of his thoughts other than what Caer would hear as they exited and made their way into the more populated rooms. "The pompous side of the hall are family, cousins, or some other relations through marriage while the more gilded type is a handful of the other families."

A few representatives from the rich and powerful were mingling through the room and available to speak with if the Sith chose, whether that was just brief introductions or more in-depth discussions. They had technically achieved what they had set out to do initially, but perhaps now they could find some useful intel about the other factions before the night's end.

Of course, It’ll be a pleasure to meet them.” Caerllion smiled at Browne, before rising from his seat. While he didn’t care about the man’s family, the Annfyn wanted to meet the other nobles. The Sith would also need to convince them to join the Empire. Hopefully they would accept their offer without many questions.

I agree." the Annfyn said telepathically to Caelian. “We can’t trust him long term. Perhaps we can among the barons other individuals that would be more interested in our offer.” acting as a two faced individual wasn’t something new to the Champion, even before he became a Sith he was already used to it. To survive among politicians you needed to be this way.

While they walked after Browne, the two Sith would be watched by the nobles. Some of them stared at the two with curiosity, while others looked annoyed with their presence. Caerllion studied them carefully, trying to feel their emotions through the Force. Perhaps it could give them some clue to which one they should approach.

Doing it, Caerllion was able to feel curiosity tainted with ambition and envy coming from a corner near the window. When he turned to look, the Annfyn saw a woman staring at them. She didn’t turn away even when the Champion looked directly at her. “Who is she?” he whispered to Browne, while quietly pointing at her.
