Quietly, he sat amongst the crowd, his fingers crossed as he watched the citizens of Coronet City with dismissive interest. He had been here for days now and only in such a crowded place could he appear as a ghost, even with his unnatural limbs piercing through the bottom of his robed attire like solid needles. Nobody noticed, too busy with their lives as laborers milled about their business, everyone lost entirely in their own bubble. The city was an ocean of grey industry that evoked a sense of rueful pensiveness. It was a blanket of fog giving birth to intense sounds of machinery and the calls of simple lives. Here amongst them, he appeared as one of their own.

“They are here."

His jagged teeth, uneven, slightly bucked and cut of ivory, would tear into his lips in perpetual anxiety. He chewed, peering in the distance at nothing in particular, yet searching with attentiveness. He could feel the force pulling on his heartstrings and litter his pale flesh with goosebumps; electrifying, it called to him almost magnetically. Eventually, he stood, and revealed his towering nature. He was a sickly colossus, yet the sea of bodies he found himself amidst paid him no mind.

Sauntering forward, each stride he took was elegant and unlabored. Although it had taken quite some time, he had adjusted to his prosthetics beautifully. Weaving between bodies like water in a steady fashion, he made his way to the far-side of the industrial sector with an odd confidence. He was a leashed dog being pulled, driven down an unknown path to meet his quarry. The cityscape would eventually break into a clearing which contrasted with the former backdrop of robotic locomotion, giving way to an area claimed by nature on the city outskirts. This needed to be quick.

Reaching behind him, his fingers grasped the hilt of a telescopic polearm forged of solid Phrik. It was built sturdily yet remained light and discreet. Pulling it over his shoulder, he extended the body of the weapon, its length harboring an edged blade and spiked top that jutted from the shaft venomously. If there ever was an inquisitor, in this moment, he was one.

“I have come to take what you do not deserve.” His voice emanated from beneath cowled features to no one in particular, resonant throughout the trees. Still, he could feel them, and he knew that the sensation was shared.

“Your soul speaks to me. There is no hiding.”

Not far away Vinry was making her way away from the city, towards an outpost a little ways out from Coronet itself. She had visited Corellia hoping to pay an old friend a visit, but she paused and looked back over her shoulder when she heard words in the distance. Eyebrows furrowed as she strained to hear the words, she stopped in her steps and turned towards the sound. It wasn't too far off, and though it wasn't out of the ordinary to run into anyone else out here in the wilderness, her curiosity got the better of her.

She began walking towards the voice, emerging in a small clearing to spot a hooded figure. She couldn't spot much, but she noticed the bloodied lips and the weapon he carried in his arm. Something wasn't right, that much was very obvious to her, but as a Jedi it was her duty to try and help. And if anything screamed help me it was the sight of a man who seemed to have bitten his own lips to a bloody mess. "Are you alright?" She asked as she came to a stop a dozen or so feet from the man, well out of the range of his weapon. She might not be jumping to any conclusions, but she was also not going to be stupid, it was never a bad habit to be cautious. "Are you injured, do you need help?"

There was something disconcerting, yet familiar about the man, though she couldn't really put her finger on it. All she could do was make sure he was alright.

Her charge had fancied himself a ghost blending perfectly among the crowd of flesh and bone and blood, and while it should have sent a pang of irritation in her mind, Saragnayan simply watched Algus with mild amusement from afar. Today she was not just a corrupt equivalent of a Master from his former Order charged with educating a fledgling in the ways of the Dark Side, but also a wayward Mandalorian bounty hunter stalking the city for her prey. Two identities she must balance until one of them would have tp be discarded for the benefit of the other, lest she be carried away from the role the Sith Lord Raze had bestowed upon her back on Sullust.

But one would get the gist that she was a pretender among the masses, an impostor preying on unsuspecting morsels to feed the ever hungering Darkness that was her soul.

A figure, female, reeking of the Light the Jedi always wielded, followed Algus as he made his way through the crowds and out of the city. The masked Sith hummed quietly in curiosity, contemplating if she should let her charge handle the Jedi on his own. The thought was easily discarded when the two finally disappeared from her sight she jumped from the rooftop she had previously perched on, drawing on the Force to soften her fall. Seemingly drawn to Algus, Saragnayan simply followed the Jedi's presence until it led her to a clearing on the city outskirts.

She saw the two seemingly locked in a standstill and she approached and halted a few steps behind the former Jedi, gaze shrewd and calculating at the concern the other woman seemed to show her charge. Jedi and their bleeding hearts – they would have make a fine addition to the Eternal's growing army if they weren't so absorbed with the delusions of moral high ground and their pitiful campaigns for justice and peace.

The female Sith lifted a hand and, using the Force, unclipped the purple lightsaber and summoned it to her waiting hand. Fueling the crystal with her anger and hatred, it's struggle against her dominion wavered even further, the Light within dimming like a dying candle.

"It seems you have found a donor for your new weapon, my sweet Doll," she crooned, crossing the distance between her and Algus in a few strides. Then, with a slightly teasing tone she added, "Or should I say that it had found you instead?"

The hand holding the stolen lightsaber was still raised, somewhat showing a degree of trust for her charge to take it without thinking to swing the weapon at her general direction. She might be cruel, but Saragnayan knew how to treat the newly recruited Sith with a modicum of respect and care– or was the latter the appropriate word to use?

Maybe it was a feeling that resembled the word. Neither Saragnayan nor Hrist cared for someone else other than her Father, after all.

Ariadne had come to Corellia following a lead. An associate of the Jedi Order there had contacted the Order concerning a manuscript that had turned up in an archive. At one point in time the planet had possessed a rather colorful Jedi history, and the manuscript was another piece of the puzzle that was slowly being recovered after the Great Purge performed by the Galactic Empire. With the manuscript tucked neatly away in a pouch under her robe, Ariadne was on the return to Coronet City from the small outpost that the associate manned.

After a short trek through the wilds on the outskirt of the city, Ariadne stopped to take a short rest before continuing her walk. The associate had sent her with a parting gift, a small pasty that had just come out of his oven. Unwrapping the treat, she took a bite of the nutty sweet pastry, he had called it a ryshcate. Enjoying the unfamiliar flaver, her eyes scanned the clearing to settle on a trio of people.

Vinry? She thought to herself as she thought she recognized one of them. The pair opposite the Jedi had their back to Ariadne so she couldn't make out any further details beyond the dark robe and stave of one, and the armor of the other. Her eyes narrowed as they took in what appeared to be the hilt of a saber and a chill ran down her spine as the flow of the force surrounding them shifted.

Darkness.

The ryshcate was swiftly rewrapped and tucked away in her pocket as she began to approach the trio, her hand brushing her robe back to allow easy access to the curve-hilted lightsaber on her hip. She did not wish to draw attention to herself just yet as she approached the pair from behind, perhaps she had misjudged the situation. The feeling in the pit of her stomach told her otherwise however.

Pausing in his tracks, Algus firmly lower the Phrik halberd to the ground, perpendicular with his right side, standing with an erect posture like a soldier guarding temple gates. He said nothing, instead continuing to eagerly chew on his lower lip, staring straight ahead towards the Jedi. He knew her face, she had been on Ajan Kloss the fateful night he had lost his legs. It appeared that fate had taken a piece of her as well. It was the price of ego and a means of atonement.

Lifting the Phrik polearm, he brought it to his side, supporting its weight over his right shoulder. An eager vanguard, he began walking forward at a swift pace, the air sweltering with determination as he halved the distance between him and the Jedi. “Did you learn your lesson?” He spoke now, balmily, and reached up with a single hand to unveil his features, pulling back his hood.

“Do you remember me?” There was little ferocity in his voice and instead, it carried a tone of deep grief. “You are a knight.” His heavy eyes fell momentarily to the ground languidly while his thin lips pursed. He was a knight as well, sworn to protect the weak and be an exemplar of good, an unmoving, incorruptible pillar of virtue. Lifting his gaze, his brow furrowed, and his eyes filled with vicious regard for the Jedi, his temperament changing almost instantly as if coming to the realization of a single horrific truth. He radiated violence.

“Liar!”

Pivoting on his hips, he cocked his arm back and twisted his body forward, hurling the Phrik polearm towards her midsection with enough force to rend her frame completely and possibly even pin her to a stray tree at her backside. It whistled through the air, driven by both strength and The Force alike, it's spiked tip threateningly gleaming in the sunlight in short bursts of white. Simultaneously in a single motion, he extended his palm outwards to his rear and willed the lightsaber from Hrist’s hand into his own, tearing it from her grasp.

Using the vaulted staff to occupy her for but a brief second, he would use the time to pull her forward, tugging at her body with The Force with his free hand. It was an attempt to disbalance her footing and bring them together in proximity while he brandished the violet lightsaber. Igniting the blade, it’s purple light casted a ghostly glow over his features as he swung the weapon in a controlled arc from her waistline upwards. Although not enough to kill, it would certainly be enough to cut deeply into the flesh of her frontside, or perhaps sever her left hand altogether.

A small spark of indignation flashed briefly in her ruby eyes when Algus seemed to completely ignore both her words and her presence. Her narrowed gaze shifted from the Jedi to him, lips pursing as she kept the hand holding one of her lightsabers raised.

The spark grew into a flickering flame, however, at the revelation that the other woman was someone from his past. More so at the pulse of grief in his voice that radiated through the Force. The armored Sith had little to no tolerance for such display of weakness, the misery he felt dredging up unwanted memories from her early days as a Cadre-subject. Despite her own cowardly nature, Saragnayan– no, Hrist hated feeling other people's sorrow for the very reason that it would bring out her own.

If it weren't for her Father, she would have already been terminated all those years ago.

Through the Force, she felt his grief melt into the rage he exuded back in Sullust. It seemed that she didn't need to push him to take another bold step into severing his ties to his past, with the former Jedi taking the matters into his own hands. That was good. In the blink of an eye Algus had taken the first move, and she – as intended – willingly let the saber be wrenched from her grasp. She dropped her hand and, inhaling deeply, reached out through the Force for any innocent bystander who might have had the misfortune of walking in on the fight before her.

The Sith felt a sharp tug coming from behind her, and it prompted a malicious grin on her concealed face.

Light.

Another Jedi, or an individual who allied themselves to that hated side of the Living Force?

Saragnayan stood unmoving on her spot, one hand resting on her own lightsaber and the other on the blaster holstered on her hip. Should the newcomer turn out to be another Jedi, then perhaps she ought to pit Algus against the two, see how he would fare two against one. Ah, but that would be... cruel? Unfair? He was to be an asset to the Sith Eternal, after all, and having him killed this early in the game was out of the options.

And if he died here? Darth Raze would have her killed.

Turning, she caught sight of another woman – this one seemingly younger than the one Algus was engaged with – and a frown immediately crossed her face at the sight of her clothing and the saber on her sight.

"Jedi," Saragnayan hissed, pouring out her rage and Darkness through the Force. She didn't move just yet, assessing the enemy before her first and foremost instead. However, she unclipped her lightsaber but did not activate it, stepping forward once before planting her booted feet on the ground. Algus was here to procure a crystal for his new saber, and it was her duty to make sure that he would get it. And this newest addition?

She would have to get past the Sith if she wanted to help her fellow Jedi.

Ajan Kloss had ended in a haze for Vinry, so when the figure revealed his face to her there was no recognition in her eyes. She had memories of a figure lying among the ruins, screaming for Oren, but she had been too far gone to remember the face, definitely not enough to match it with the bloodied figure she now faced.

But the hatred in his voice, and the way it radiated through the Force, that she did recognize. She was instantly on alert, opening herself to the Force and on the lookout for danger. So when he pulled his arm back to hurl the pike at her she moved, taking quick steps to the side so that the pike would fly through the air to her right, missing her altogether. And as she moved she moved she reached out with the Force, grabbing the Sith, and there was no reason for her to assume he was anything but a Sith, by the foot. She telekinetically grabbed his left foot and yanked it forward. Having just launched the pike at her and off balance after the exertion, he would be ill prepared to avoid the attack, especially as she gave no forewarning that she was going to react in such a manner. If successful the attack would send him crashing to the floor, and interrupt his attempts to pull her towards him and to draw the other Sith's lightsaber towards himself.

"I don't know who you are," she would say if she was successful in blocking his attack and sending him to the ground, "and I don't know who you think I am. But we can talk this through."

She sensed conflict within him, and though it would have made sense to capitalize on her advantage, she was not here to fight, not unless it was the last resort. She had already sensed and seen that they were not alone, but from the little she had sensed and heard it seemed that she didn't need to worry about them just yet. For now the man in front of her was her primary concern.

Ariadne continued her approach as the robed man began to approach Vinry, her pace quickening a bit as she picked her way through the wilderness clearing, over the various small rocks, brush, and roots that tangled the ground. The curve of her lightsaber now sat comfortingly in the palm of her right hand as she watched the Sith, she was sure he was a Sith at this point, attack.

The situation was unclear, but Ariadne was certain that these people were Sith. Why else would they accost and attack the one-armed Jedi in the wilderness. She had trained for this moment. Sparred with her fellow Jedi, padawans and knights. Trained to defend lives. Trained to protect people from the likes of the Sith. After what she had seen the Sith do at Ajan Kloss, she felt apprehensive but determined as she moved forwards, closing the distance between herself and the unmoving Sith (@Saragnayan ) to about twenty meters.

The figure radiated a dark malice that made the hairs on the back of Ariadne's neck rise as it turned to face her. But she was a bearer of the Light. Her mind was clear of questions and she felt resolve. The Light would rise to meet this darkness as the blonde Jedi activated her lightsaber in her right, and pointed the forefingers of her left at a rock before flicking them towards the Sith as it took its step to face her. A fist sized rock would leave its place on the ground to fly at the Sith's helmeted head.

"Step aside Sith She shouted as the rock flew and she continued her forward movement. She held the hilt of the curved saber with her hand choked up towards the emmiter in a straight grip as she ran. She led the charge with her blade held horizontally in front of her, the brilliant green blade angled forwards slightly, ready to flow into motion if the armored Sith dared to draw their blaster. She would let the Sith take its retreat if it so chose, but she acted with an immediacy as she rushed to her fellow Jedi's aid.

There was little reaction to his presence from the Jedi. Perhaps Ajan Kloss had been too chaotic, or maybe too painful; tragedy had a way of making people forget, and still though, he remembered her. She brought with her memories of fire, blood, and the all-encompassing fear he had felt that day. It had changed him, a single moment that tore a black pit in his core. All he felt now was an inescapable terror; it was eldritch.

The waves threatened to consume him. They would sink him with their swell, but his fever kept him afloat.

He could feel her mastery of the force, it pushed and tugged, colliding with his own and barreled outwards like flexing tides. Snaking around his ankles, it tore his footing from underneath him and sent him backwards, but only momentarily. Reacting instinctually, he placed his hands underneath of himself to break his fall and pushed himself back up, snarling at her. “You want to talk!?” He yelled, likely drawing the attention of any onlookers. His posture was wide, and he extended his arms in frantic histrionics, willing the violet lightsaber back into his right palm and igniting the blade.

“You don’t remember me do you?” How could she? He barely remembered himself. Despite how recent Ajan Kloss had unfolded, he had changed drastically through turbulent metamorphosis. “But I remember you.” Leering at her, his fervor died a bit and his wild eyes became saturnine. “And I see the scars you bare from Ajan Kloss. I was there too you know.” Reaching up, he wiped his brow with his forearm, hearing the commotion at his back. More opposition had arrived, but he had faith in Hrist.

“The Sith took nothing from me that I hadn’t already lost and my legs? And your hand...” He gestured towards her with the humming tip of his violet saber. “Are just reminders of weakness. We are strong though! We can be strong!” His passion heated like boiling water, coming to a head once more. “All you have to do is reach out and take it!”

With dilating pupils, he pushed off from his heel, holding the dusky saber out in front of him defensively. He wasn’t a balanced warrior and had no intention of contending her mastery of the force, but with a lightsaber, his confidence bordered on arrogance. He was a knight after all.

Nearing her, he tightened his grip around the hilt of the saber, holding it with both hands for maximum control and swung the weapon horizontally towards her belly. Anticipating her defense, he would follow up with a strong kick to her kneecap, attempting to collapse the bone with the metallic structure of his prosthetic heel; all the while, he kept his posture tense and his form tight, ready to defend himself. He had no intention of killing her, not yet, but if he could manage to overpower her, perhaps he could open her eyes.

The masked Sith could feel her companion's ever changing emotions through the Force, but she did not let them distract her from the approaching Jedi. Senses alight with the churning Force around them, Saragnayan lifted a hand to block the rock her opponent had sent flying to strike her helmeted head, the rock pinging off against durasteel vambrace. She grunted at the impact, however, her hold on her lightaber tightening as the Jedi moved to close the distance between them–

Ah, but the woman was most likely rushing to her fellow Jedi's aid. Smiling slyly, Saragnayan would do the unthinkable and stepped aside to allow the blonde woman passage, her free hand sweeping towards Algus and his prey's direction in a grand gesture. She could hear Algus speaking to the other Jedi before his words wordturned into a shout.

"You want to help her?" she told the Jedi with the green blade. "Then by all means, do so."

Saragnayan paid Algus's words no heed for the time being, her gaze solely intended on the approaching Jedi. The Marauder then drew on the Force around them, pouring out her malice and rage as the hand that was pointed at Algus moved to her (@Ariadne Harro) direction. The Jedi would feel the Force coiling around her as Saragnayan attempted to halt her movements with a full-body stasis, her right hand which was also holding her saber stretched out towards the Jedi to try to hold the latter in place. Should her attempt be successful, Saragnayan would then swiftly draw her blaster with her left and would fire a single shot aimed at the Jedi's left leg. If that would not work, then the Marauder would simply activate her lightsaber and would press forward to deliver a downward swing intended to strike the Jedi's shoulder.

Algus did not seem to be intent on shedding blood today, and Saragnayan would mirror it. The Dark Side of the Force demanded blood today, but not life.

The Sith before her talked but Ariadne wasn't in a listening mood as she looked the Sith over in her charge. Mandalorian? A question that would perhaps never have an answer popped into her head as she saw the Sith's face for the first time, or rather the helmet that was its face.

Ariadne felt the shift in the Force as a dark current swept her way, its malignant grasp seeking to wrap a bind around her. Her movements began to slow for a moment as she centered herself, an outward breath as she burst with the Light, radiant soul shining to burn away the clawing hands of the Dark as she pushed away the Sith's influence.

Her saber had been held at the ready for just this as her forward movement came to a stop both through the Sith's power and her own will, her saber tip dipping towards the ground with rotation of her wrist, catching the blaster bolt with an upwards flick of her wrist and forearm to send it flying right back towards the Mandalorian Sith to scream past her on the left

Her own left hand curled at her waist as she focused on the arm of the Sith that had been reaching towards her to grasp at her. Reaching at her with the Sith's own unlit lightsaber in hand. A grasping pressure would squeeze down on the Sith's saber arm as her own fingers curled as if around a wrist, before moving with an inwards sweep of her arm to the right across her body, the telekinetic grasp moving with it to yank the Sith's arm in an attempt to twist her body and draw her blaster off target as well as to bind the Sith's ability to deflect the bolt and drag her arm into her own blaster bolt as well. If all went according to plan anyways

As he spoke things started to fall into place, realization struck as his words finally made sense to her. He had been there, the figure on the ground, the one they had thought lost. He was lost, but the manner of the loss was much worse than any of the Jedi had assumed. He was consumed by the darkness, enslaved to it. A fate, in many ways, worse than death. But still, there was always hope. Ajan Kloss was still fresh in her mind, so little time had passed since that day. And as she was yet to fully recover from it, he was probably yet to be fully destroyed by it. Maybe there was still hope to bring him back.

She didn't respond to his words, she could sense that in that moment her words would count for little. She would have to beat him to get through to him. He was seeking strength through the darkness, she would have to show him the folly in that choice. The moment he charged she reached out with the Force and grabbed the pike he had thrown at her, buried in a tree not far behind her. It came flying out under her telekinetic grasp, before flying straight at the charging figure.

His attacks, intended to hit when he reached her, would be forestalled by her own attack, forcing him to deal with the pike well before he got within swinging range of her. But the pike, instead of flying for his chest, would fly for his legs. She knew who he was now, knew that he had lost his legs on Ajan Kloss. So the pike would fly for his left thigh, to attempt to incapacitate him without actually harming him. She might want to beat him, but she could also sense that he was in pain and she would rather not add to that burden.
