We were talking about why there's anti-Americanism?

Because 1500 ****ing Americans complained about something that's essentially no different from two straight people kissing.

If he'd have kissed a woman, would those 1500 people have cared?

Not really, seeing as most of those are shitty places like Iran.

I was talking from a first world perspective. In places like Holland they wouldn't have given a shit.

Or in England when they got 300 complaints for the first gay kiss perhaps?

Why the hell would anyone complain? If the guy's openly gay, then I personally don't see why complaints should be made.

300's not 1500.

And those people are blatant idiots too, I'm not denying that.

Why the hell would anyone complain? If the guy's openly gay, then I personally don't see why complaints should be made.

Because they believe it's against God's will.

And unnatural.

As opposed to a man who resurrected Lazarus...

Hell, I'm religious and I'm all for it, so I don't see how religion's an excuse.

There's also 310 million yanks.

The amount of idiots in a country isn't dependent on how many people there are.

If that were Iran, say, with less population than America, then there'd have been even worse an outburst.

Oh, so the level of complaints doesn't bare on the fact that there are hundreds of millions more Americans then British people?

Or the fact that America is a deeply religious country compared to Holland or England?

Your constant bashing of Americans is getting tedious now Tom.

Deeply religious isn't an excuse. I'm religious, I'm saying this.

And I'm not bashing Americans in general. I'm fine with Americans. What I'm not fine with is morons, who're in many countries. It just so happens that America has quite a few.

Might want to change that to "lots". I just wish America would become secularized at some point, just so we don't have religious idiots or fanatics.

1,500 is a VERY small number compared to the millions of Americans. Anyway, its a free country and people can voice their opinions.

If we are getting in an argument about religious fanatics, I'll just say that every country has their fair share. America has a few though the majority of people I've seen/interacted with are either atheist or not very religious at all. I'm atheist myself and I still am a bit homophobic. Society on a whole has come a long way into accepting gays, but to me it just seems weird.

As to the whole debate, every country has douche bags and though America isn't exactly made up of saints and holy men, why would one issue make them as a whole idiots? Wouldn't that make everyone who doesn't feel comfortable around homosexuals be stupid in your opinion then?

I know what you're trying to say, but America is pretty much secularized, in terms of government and politics and all that.

Besides, as long as religious people don't hurt anybody, why should I, you, or anybody care what they say? Just let 'em be.

Yes they can voice their opinions.

But if someone stands up and says that black people shouldn't be allowed to marry, despite their being black being something they can't change (like homosexuality) and being something that's perfectly fine, then that doesn't make them any less an idiot...

Good God Tom, 1500 people complaining is like one n00b on this website telling us that we need to completely change our ways to cater to what they want. This is such a small amount of people, and to talk as if this fuels anti-Americanism is ridiculous.

And FYI, the major complaint of that show was when Adam Lambert shoved a guy's head in his crotch. That wouldn't have been acceptable whether it was a gay dude or Britney Spears.

Well, that's not what the article says.

And, regardless of right or wrong it does fuel anti-Americanism.

If people go loud and the media publish it as being an anti-gay thing, it fuels anti-Americanism in Europe.

1,500 Americans did something you personally don't like, therefore America is a horrible, terrible, intolerant place. It must be true.
