Large Party Area, Somewhere, Chalacta

OOC: Open to Jedi

Karaoke Track #1

Zoya wasn't allowed off world that often, for what felt like eons she had been trapped on the dumb old forest moon of Yavin IV. So when her ever present chaperone droid had passed her a flier for a Jedi Field trip to Chalacta, she had signed right up. Apparently a few dozen Jedi were just the right number to keep an eye on a captured acolyte, which she had decided to treat as a compliment. Of course the actual trip had been a complete bore, a lot of talk about a bunch of know-it-alls who called themselves the Chalactan Adepts. Very original that one, Force Adepts from Chalacta, let's call ourselves the Chalactan Adepts. One of them had even shown up, and had seemed particularly interested in speaking with her. Apparently it was because she was a Sith, sorry, former Sith. But she had the feeling that he was simply into green hotties. It was a big thing, everyone wanted to woo her just because she was green.

Still, there was a silver lining, after the "seminars" had ended some of the younger Knights had arranged a little party, a karaoke night. Of course they had managed to make even that a dull affair, but some of the padawans had managed to smuggle in some drinks, and she had even managed to convince this one girl who seemed to be running some sort of underground shop to bring them some Alderaanian mushrooms.

Walking around with a glass of juice spiked with some rather cheap but powerful spodka, she had a satisfied smile on her face. For the first time since her capture she actually felt alive. And when the song that a rather cute looking guy was singing reached the chorus she joined in at the top of her lungs.

"I bless the rains down in CHAAAAANDRILA!!"

Ruzaan winced slightly as a Mirilan nearby sung along to the karaoke- what she lacked in pitch accuracy, she more than made up for in enthusiasm and volume. Ruzaan wasn't exactly the party type, but he'd met one of his best friends at the last Jedi social so he'd begrudgingly shown up at this one as well. So far, aside from the questionable music choices, this one seemed fairly tame; just the way he liked it.

He held a glass filled with water- his drink of choice- and politely waited until the song was finished before approaching the Mirilan. It was no secret that she had been trained as a Sith, so to see her cautiously accepted into the Jedi Order had piqued his interest.

"Hi, I'm Ruzaan!" he said, smiling and offering a handshake. "It's nice to meet you!"

Zoya didn't know a lot of Jedi, so when the perky looking Togruta greeted her and offered his hand to shake she was momentarily lost. "Err, right." She moved her drink from one hand to the other, and reached out to shake his hand, wondering if all Jedi were this polite. Not that she cared, it just seemed awfully tiring. "Nice to..meet you too. I'm Zoya."

Just then the song peaked once more, and she shouted out at the top of her longs yet again, but went a little too far and her little solo ended in a fit of coughs. Noticing the glass of water in his hands, she tried to point at it, but had to give up till a few more seconds passed and her coughing subsided.

"Oh, bless you! I'll take that," she snatched the glass of water from his hands, and handed him her glass of juice, "and you take that. To Chandrila!!" She raised the glass to tap the one he now held in his hands, and raised it to her lips, downing it all. She would stare pointedly at him, as if it was very impolite of him to let her drink on her own. Which, in some parts of the Galaxy, it very much was.

Ruzaan looked on in alarm as the girl who had introduced herself as Zoya fell into a violent coughing fit, brought on by an ambitious high note. At least it stopped the singing, though, and gave his ringing montrals a break. As the coughs gradually subsided, Ruzaan looked around for another glass of water to offer the girl; however, she found one before he did.

"Oh! Um, ok..." Ruzaan said, taken aback as Zoya traded drinks with him and quickly downed the water. He held her juice glass in both hands, unsure of what to do, and even offered it back when he noticed that she was staring at him as if he was missing something obvious. "Uh, sorry, yeah, this is yours" he replied, and tried handing the drink back. "Are you ok?"

Zana winced as she heard the horribly off key singing. Then again, she was probably not much better. It had taken her a lot of courage to work up to asking Cairo to come with her to a social gathering. Of course, he had no reservations about it, his personality far more extroverted and confident than she certainly was. There was a part of her that felt nervous about it all, but she reminded herself this was not in a Jedi world and technically she wasn’t breaking any rules. There was also the whole bit of nervousness about meeting up with Cairo again. Against her usual habits, she actually opted to wear a dress this time.

The twi’lek was texting back and forth with Cairo, and she could already tell he was way more amped about this party than she was. She donned a casual dress that contrasted nicely with her skin and brought out her eyes with some bracelets and earrings. She even wore some short heels, though she still appeared her usual diminutive self, along with some floral perfume. Today she certainly didn’t look like an engineering geek, and she actually cleaned up and put some makeup on.

Zana arrived at the entrance, checking her chrono before she texted Cairo that she was there. For now she waved at people she knew from afar, wanting for Cairo to arrive before she ventured in to actually join the party.

Cairo had to get this right. He couldn't fuck this up. So, for tonight, he'd put on all of his charm. The newly-appointed Lieutenant Commander of the Hapan Royal Guard, as a member of Hapes' royal family, had access to a new array of royal amenities. Private cooks, gardeners, maids...it was all too much. Most relevant for this evening was the royal tailor, who had fashioned a well-fitting gray suit for the young man. His shoes were a fresh suede, matching his black paints, turtleneck, and jacket. He wore thin sunglasses on his face, only slightly obscuring the devilish glimmer of his gaze. From the Queen's botanical garden, he plucked the brightest, bluest Ithorian rose he could find, having kept it preserved and fresh just for this evening.

It felt like a play against type. Cairo hadn't ever really done anything like this before - it felt like what he imagined being invited to a formal or homecoming at a different school in holovision seemed like. A party with a brand new group of people. The last time he had done that, he ended the night addicted to wildfire. Tonight would be about sobriety and good, adult conversation.

I mean, of course, he snuck a couple of joints rolled with marcan herbs into his jacket, but those were medicinal. It was totally different. Cairo texted back that he was almost there - when he spotted a Mirialan who looked oddly familiar there. Oh shit, was she from the academy?

Cairo pushed up his sunglasses to further obscure himself as he walked in, new nerves appearing as he spotted Zana. She hadn't yet noticed him, it seemed, so he...decided not to cause a scene. He really wanted to, but it felt like too early in the night to launch into antics. She looked stunning. She always had, even in those weird rags that The Jedi called clothes. But this felt like the first time they could fully appreciate seeing one another. When he was close enough, he tapped her on the shoulder, as a smile grew to his face. Taking a page from the incorrigible Veles, he decided to just blurt out his first thought. "You look so fine tonight." Was she wearing makeup, too? Pulled out all the stops.

"So, uh..." He looked around the space, suddenly feeling a little overdressed for karaoke as people started to fill in. "These are your friends, right? Anyone I should meet?" He straightened his jacket as he spoke, glancing around the room again.

Wait, shit. Was this a Jedi party? He was so elated when she had invited him to any party, he hadn't bothered to fully investigate what he was walking into.

Eh, fuck it. As long as he was chill, it would all be chill, right?

As a general rule, Thelian rarely attended Jedi social events - and that was mostly to do with the fact that he overwhelming majority of said social events happened to be in the form of their Order’s infamous potlucks. Whether it was the perpetual risk of food poisoning, the tendency for people to start abruptly getting all warm-and-fuzzy, or the fact that they were just downright boring as all shit - Thelian didn’t attend.

Quite frankly, all of the above were contributing factors why the Echani was more likely to lick the underside of a porta-shitter toilet seat in Corsucant’s RedLight district before he would be dragged to one of those damned thing.

So naturally, the Echani couldn’t help but be somewhat intrigued when he heard of the party being arranged by a few of the younger knights. He was thoroughly disinterested in the Karaoke part of ‘karaoke night’, and was instead interested in the fact that the party was 1) On a neutral planet with no Jedi oversight and 2) had an abundance of free booze.

Thelian had already ducked his way past the entrance and made his way inside the party, casually leaning his shoulder against one of the walls as he scoped out the crowd. The Echani had shockingly put in some effort into his appearance - sporting a
pair of jeans and a tan button down - the top couple buttons purposefully undone to expose the upper part of his muscular chest and the tattoos that marked his torso - inked right over the top of the lightning scars that spanned his torso. The Echani’s stark-white hair was gelled and combed into place, and there was a neat bit of stubble on his cheeks that grew just a shade darker than the rest of his hair. He didn’t bother with any kind of fancy accessory - largely because he didn’t own any - and thus sported his usual SportsBit, the same one he habitually wore to the gym, on his left wrist.

The Echani already had a drink in his hand, gulping down a few swallows as his silver eyes casually flicked around the room - his expression that usual deadpan. It didn’t take him long to spot a familiar face in the crowd, lingering on the twi’lek Padawan. It was the first time he’d seen her in a dress, and he couldn’t help the way his eyes lingered for just a moment - only for his attention to be drawn towards the fancy-ass dude who walked in after her with a rose in his hand.

The Echani’s eyes narrowed ever-so-slightly, though it wasn’t much of a deviation from his usual grumpy expression. His gaze only lingered for a few moments before flicking back to Zana - keeping contact with the Twi’lek long enough to give her a peace sign if she looked in his direction.

Zoya narrowed her eyes as the Togruta nervously held back her drink, having a policy to not trust someone who couldn't handle their drink. And the fact that he literally could not handle the drink she had offered him in exchange for a measly glass of water very much qualified. "Yeah, thanks. I'm good."

She took her drink back as she spoke, and raised the glass to her lips to take a sip, or at least was about to when someone bumped her from behind, and made her spill some of her drink. It was only by pure chance that none of it spilled onto her dress, which would likely have meant the end of the world for said bumper. The little outfit she was wearing was literally the only piece of decent clothing she owned, having nicked it from a knight's quarters when she was supposed to be helping her with some bullshit, and if the dress had been harmed in any way she was certain to show everyone present just what the Academy had taught her.

Still, unlike any of the Jedi, just because it ended as a harmless accident it didn't mean that she was just gonna let the matter slip. So with a frown she whipped around to find just who had bumped into her. "Hey jackass," she barked at the white haired youth whose eyes seemed to be locked on a cute little Twi'lek instead of where he was moving, "watch where you walk. Maybe miss Twi'lek there would pay you more attention if you weren't gawking at her like a creep."

Ruzaan's nervousness turned to confusion as the Mirilan refused to take her own drink back. What did she expect him to do with her drink? He was about to ask when Zoya was bumped into by Thelian, sending some of the remaining water splashing out of the cup and onto him.

"It's no problem, it's just water!" he assured her as she began yelling at the Echani; presumably on his behalf. for his part, Ruzaan was trying to avoid an escalation. He'd dressed casually anyways; water would dry, and it wouldn't do if the Echani got into an argument with the person he was trying to meet.

"Oh, hi Thelian!" Ruzaan threw caution to the wind and willingly stepped between him and Zoya, placing himself firmly in Thelian Punch range. He went for a hug, hoping to distract the other Padawan from Zoya's rudeness.

Zana looked over when Cairo nudged her, and she took a moment to simply marvel at his state of attire. Neither were in their faction uniforms or whatever frumpy clothes they managed to find that day. She found herself gawking stupidly for a moment until he complimented her. The twi’lek’s face heated up at once, turning that familiar shade of purple as she idly toyed with one of her lekku.

“Thanks,” She said with a shy smile, “You look amazing,” Zana said, unable to take her eyes off him, "I'm so glad you came!" Her golden eyes lit up, half worried he wouldn't be able to pull it off. She almost forgot about the actual social event until he mentioned something. She looked away and cleared her throat quickly, “Uh, yeah let me introduce you,” Zana reached down and grasped his hand, excitedly tugging him along deeper towards the crowds.

She had been too fixated on Cairo to notice Thelian scowling her way, but she did spot him briefly when he nodded at her, “Hey Thelian!” She called out, taking Cairo with her to meet with him. It was then that she saw Ruz step in to randomly hug the Echani. Zana’s eyes widened and she slowed her walk, almost afraid to venture further.

“Oh boy..” She muttered quietly, still keeping her grip on Cairo’s hand as she watched the scene play out. For some reason the Mirialan chick that sounded like a dying monkey lizard also looked agitated. Was someone going to start throwing punches??

Alex really was testing him it seemed, his return had mostly been focused on diplomatic missions and the like. But, this was on a whole other level. The once youthful Jedi had aged, his hair was a thick grey and his beard was the same, the burns he had received had faded over the years, but the subtle markings still remained. He was probably the most boring Jedi to watch over a bunch of young students, but maybe that was just all part of the disguise -- or maybe not.

The Jedi had been sitting in the back, mostly sticking to himself, letting the kids get away with things that they probably shouldn't have, but as long as they weren't causing a scene, it wasn't a big deal; that much he had learned during his self exile. Though things seemed to draw his attention, and caused him to pull up from his seat.

His eyes drifted towards Zoya as his brow raised, "In my day...we called them a Corellian Snark Kisser.." Okay grandpa, where's the closest retirement station...

He would try his best to defuse the situation by bringing his hand up and gently flicking it through the force to cause a song from his youth to begin playing through the speakers.

"Now this right here is real music...we even danced to it at our formals.." He gave the group a slight wink as he brought his hands up to do the most lame ass jedi master possible, his hands and feet would move slightly out of rhythm, and his sleeves would roll up slightly, revealing the several prison tattoos that adorned his arms. Was he really this bland or was it all just a ruse, only the force knew, but it would be hard for kids to fight when they felt the shared horror of second hand embarrassment.

Cairo smiled lightly back, impressed with himself at how she reacted. He puffed up his chest, slightly, to flex a little bit when he realized she was staring. He smirked. "Dressed to impress. Best behavior, right?" No Sith antics, no Cairo-inspired chaos. Though a karaoke part was so tempting to fuck with. What if someone spiked the punch with hallucinogens? And all of them collectively tripped - wouldn't that be funny?

Wait, stop that. Best behavior. As Cairo gave his hand to Zana,
though, he saw chaos. Beautiful, beautiful chaos. He couldn't help but smile at the affair, as the maybe-Sith almost instantly started a fight with the silver-haired boy that Zana wanted to introduce him to. He seemed grumpy, and he was looking at Zana. Was he mad? At him? Spicy.

Cairo reached to shake his hand while Ruuzan hugged him, making a weird little sandwich of party introductions. "'Sup, dude. I'm..." Ah, Andraste's breath. Would he have to come up with another stupid codename? "Cai." He grinned. "Damn, bro...you're cut as fuck. Following the Emryc Thorne routine?" Cairo had just started it himself, as the clean-eating diet and frequent workouts helped to distract him from his constant, nearly unbearable, craving for wildfire. A Korriban Times article titled "What to Do During Withdrawal," recommended the practice. Maybe Thelian had seen it, too.

He waved to all of the other Jedi gathered, trying to wriggle his hand out from Ruz's hug before it was too caught up. When the music changed, he saw an old man dancing about, off-key and without rhythm. He loved it. At least chaperones here acted like chaperones, instead of horny drug goblins or murderers. "Zana, I love this song." He had never heard it before, but he loved the vibes. A good ol' slow dance. "Want to dance with me?" He stepped towards the dance floor, briefly glancing back to the dramatic trio of Ruz, Zoya, and Thelian. He flashed a peace sign at them - hoping that they didn't start a fight right now, because not another party fight please.

He had mostly come for her, anyways. Before they would slow dance, though, Cairo wanted to see what this old man was working with. Cairo shimmied his way across the dance floor, two-stepping along with the rhythm of the music. His shoulders swayed as he walked, picking up the chorus midway through. "If you're LOST you can Look and.." He had already forgotten the lyrics. "TIME AFTER TIMEEEE!"

Thelian allowed his gaze to linger on Zana and Cairo long enough to greet the pair from afar, before proceeding to flick back to his drink - that grumpy expression lingering on his face. The Echani hadn’t expected to see the Twi’lek show up with a date, and he couldn’t help the bits of jealousy and irritation that bubbled up when he spotted that familiar gesture of the girl playing with her lekku while looking at Cairo. It was a sensation that caught him entirely off guard, leaving the Echani questioning why it was present at all. He promptly decided not to linger on the feeling, instead lifting his solo cup to take another swig of his drink.

As he drank, the Echani turned to push off from where he was standing - not noticing the Mirialan chick beside him until he essentially just walked right into the back of her - causing the Echani to lurch forward and dibble some of his drink down his chin, enough for the Echani to narrow his silvery eyes in response. Given that parties like this were commonly packed to the brim and people bumped into each other all the time, Thelian was prepared to step back and continue on his way as if nothing had happened at all - only for Zoya to snap around and start screaming in his face.

Thelian couldn’t help but blink a few times in response to her sudden and random outburst, but that was about the only visible reaction she would get from the Echani. He didn’t know who she was, why she acted like there was a stick up her ass, and frankly he didn’t give much of a fuck on either front. While Zoya screamed, Thelian simply stared down at her with his standard deadpan expression - keeping his gaze on her for a solid ten seconds without saying a single word - a stark contrast to the way she abruptly blew up for seemingly little reason. His attention was only drawn away from Zoya when Ruz suddenly appeared out of thin air - abruptly wrapping his arms around Thelian’s midsection, causing his silver eyes to immediately narrow and his body to tense.

The Echani was notoriously averse to being touched, and the combination of seeing Cairo with Zana and Zoya bitching in his ear meant that he was already on edge. Couple that with the fact the Morellian chose that precise moment to try to shake his hand..

Despite the grumpy expression that was almost always plastered on his face, Zana - one of the few people at the party that knew him well - would be able to see the subtle changes in his face. The way his fingers twitched and his muscles tensed, alongside the way his jaw set into a fine line - all indicators that he was legitimately irritated. He silently contemplated the pros and cons of throwing the Togruta off of him - primarily the reaction it would get out of Zana and others. Most likely, it would result in him getting screamed at, thrown out, and cut off from the free booze. A few more moments, and Thelian exhaled audibly through his nostrils.

Rather than decking the Togruta, he lifted his hand, giving Ruz a few pats on the shoulder. “Sup, Ruz.” He said dryly, letting the Togruta linger for a few moments before placing both hands on the Padawans shoulders and proceeding to pry himself out of the Togruta’s embrace. It wasn’t particularly mean or hostile, but it was firm enough to send the clear message not to do that again. Only then did he actually turn to look at Cairo, giving the Morellian a jut of his chin before extending his hand towards the Acolyte - giving him a firm handshake rather than doing it while wrapped up in Ruz and his giant ass horn-things. “Thelian.” He didn’t return the grin, maintaining that deadpan expression while his silver eyes fixed onto the Morellian. It was an expression that most of the other Padawans were most likely accustomed to at this point. His brow arched ever-so-slightly when the topic went to the Emryc Thorne fitness routine. “Yup. Been on it for ‘bout a year n’ a half. Tough as fuck.”

His silver eyes finally flicked over to Zana, that deadpan expression softening ever-so-slightly when he regarded the twi’lek. “Hey Zana,” He gave her a nod. “You look nice.” The Echani said before lifting his cup to take another drink. Up until that point, he hadn’t really noticed the grandpa who decided to tag along nor the music he put on - only now taking a moment to listen to the slow-dance song.

The Echani watched as Cairo tugged Zana towards the dancefloor for a dance, and that grumpy expression was right back onto his face - silver eyes staring out towards a random point on the dancefloor. He never really moved from where he originally bumped into Zoya, effectively acting like her temper-tantrum-throwing-ass didn’t exist.

As soon as Thelian showed signs of wanting to be done with the hug, Ruzaan would immediately back off. He'd already broken one of his personal rules by hugging someone without permission, and he wasn't about to break another one by holding on when they signaled that the hug was over. The risk, however, appeared to have paid off; nobody had been punched (yet), and he even got a "Sup Ruz" from the the silver-eyed Padawan.

After quickly withdrawing from the embrace, Ruzaan was slightly surprised to reaize that he was genuinely happy to see Thelian here. The Echani didn't exactly make friends easily, so this was another opportunity for him to get to know Thelian better and perhaps even count himself as more than an acquaintance. Even if Ruzaan was still figuring out the unwritten rules of the event- "I think we're supposed to trade drinks, now?" he said, hesitantly offering Zoya's glass to Thelian- the Togruta contented himself with the knowledge that there were both old and new friends to talk to.

The music switched suddenly, prompting a flutter in Ruzaan's chest as he recognized it to be a slower tempo; perfect for dancing with a partner. His eyes quickly scanned the assembly, and he was unable to avoid disappointment as his search came up empty. It was, he told himself, a pipe dream; they wouldn't dance with him even if they were present.

Clove, to be honest, was hesitant when she received her invitation. Their most recent social, ignoring Life Day, didn't exactly finish on a happy note, partly due to her own trauma. And now she's been asked to yet another gathering, with yet another 'issue.' And it'd mean she wouldn't be able to join in the dancing or waltz up the platform like a diva to take the microphone. So she spent an hour or so softly stroking her fingers along the edge of the chair, considering the pro's and cons.

But after a lot of pondering, Clove decided to go. She simply couldn't say no to karaoke night. When karaoke night arrived at the resorts on Ralltiir she'd be the first to scream her lungs out, even if it meant sounding like a dying Rancor. Because that's what karaoke is all about! It wasn't about being good at singing; it was about having a wonderful time! Nobody would judge you, especially after a drink or two of strong booze. Plus, she'd heard Ruz, Thelian, and Zana would be there, and she was excited to see her friends.

Could she call Thelian a friend? They both had their tattoos, and instead of his normal deadpanned demeanor, he smiled a very tiny bit as he spoke to her. But they had never had a proper chat before. Oh well, why not?

The half-Sephi was able to make her way to Chalacta with a little help here and there. She made her way through the entrance, dressed in a dusty lilac colored dress, a patterned corset for both support of her injured back and fashion, and some of her beloved heels. And, of course, she couldn't forget her favorite jewelry! Her long ears twitched as soon as the first few musical notes hit them; she didn't recognize the song, but it was one with a slower tempo. It sounded great!

Clove studied the room with her huge chocolate brown eyes, slowly but steadily realizing that not only was there a really old Jedi among them, but there were also two party-goers she'd never seen before. A Mirialan and a Morellian, to be precise. She just gazed at them for a moment, trying to figure out if they were part of the group or if they were random people from the karaoke bar who had decided to join in. The Morellian seemed nice with Zana, so he must be okay, but the Mirialan seemed... oddly grumpy? Her fingers moved up, absently, seeking the floral tattoo that covered a lightning scar on her chest, her thumb brushing over the areas not covered by her dress.

It required some courage to push her wheels forward and enter the room rather than hovering awkwardly at the door opening. Clove made her way over to the gathering, taking care not to roll over anyone's foot, especially Ruz's. Her tiny amount of insecurity disappeared as she saw her friends, and her lips curved up into a brilliant smile, her cheeks pressing up against her eyes till they formed little joyful slits. "Hey everyone! I've heard there's an awesome party going on here!"

Clove then suddenly returned her gaze to Zana, who appeared to be getting entertained by the Morellian shaking his shoulders and yelling along with the lyrics. While the Morellian's joy was endearing, it wasn't the reason she did a double take. Zana wore a dress. A yellow one at that?! A yellow that perfectly complimented her skin color. Clove's mouth gaped open in surprise before lifting her arm into the air and waving at Zana to get her attention. If their gazes met, the half-Sephi would make an obvious motion to her clothing, exclaiming 'Oh, my goodness!? The dress?!' with her facial expression, which was followed by a thumbs up and a giggle.

After the brief nonverbal exchange she returned her focus to the group closest to her, leaving Zana alone with the boy. After all, there'd be plenty of time to talk later! So she chose to focus on Ruz instead for now. "Hey there, Ruz! I love that shirt on you, it looks awesome!" The girl said while rolling ever so carefully closer to him. "Have you sung yet?! I haven't missed you singing, right?!"

A combination of the older Jedi stepping in, the music changing, and the Twi'lek and her date showing up to greet the Echani, meant that Zoya somehow got distracted from blowing her fuse. Instead she took a deep breath and took another sip of her drink, observing the rather awkward exchange going on amongst all the parties around her. It didn't take a genius to notice the tension in the air, and she almost got excited thinking that something might happen. But the suit walked off with the Twi'lek, and the one who had introduced himself as Thelian simply stood there staring after them.

"Ughh." She sighed with an extremely exaggerated tilt of her head. "What is with you Jedi and being so passive."

She downed the rest of her drink and dropped it on a nearby table, before turning to Thelian and grabbing his hand by the wrist. "Come on!" Unless he resisted and refused to move, she would drag him along towards the dance floor as well, and come to a stop facing him not too far from where the Twi'lek and Cai were dancing.

"What, just going to stand there and pout?" She would reach out and grab his hands, and place them on her waist. "If you want her back then you gotta do more than that. Truth me, this always works. Now hold me tight and stop acting like you're about to swallow a bantha turd." With that she would start dancing, placing her own hand around his neck, closing her eyes, and swaying with the music, imagining that she was back at one of the clubs on Serenno.

Zana was surprised to see Thelian actually dressed up, used to only seeing him in gym clothes. She eyed him for a moment, though she was promptly distracted when Cairo had to maneuver around Ruz to shake Thelian’s hand. Zana used the opportunity to smile at Ruz (@SlagathorTheUnknown ), “Hey! Did you bring any ice cream this time?” She asked playfully, having completely missed out on it when he did it last time. She waited for his answer before she looked back in time to hear Thelian (@Altaris) addressing her. Zana smiled shyly at his compliment, fidgeting a bit.

“Thanks,” Zana muttered quietly, “You look great. You should dress like that more often,” She smiled at him shortly before Cairo asked to dance. Zana stared at him but made a vague noise in response as she was dragged off, sheepishly waving at the other Jedi before she went out with him. She was genuinely happy as she followed Cairo, pausing as she watched him two step. The twi’lek glanced back towards Oren, chuckling a bit at his off beat dancing, though the singing was pretty solid. Zana looked over when Cairo belted out the lyrics, bursting into laughter. For all the ways she was reserved and shy, he clearly had no problems in that department. She watched him for a moment before grabbing his hand again.

“All right come on, I can probably manage this without stepping on you,” Zana said as she moved to put her arms around Cairo’s neck. She smiled up at him, swaying side to side. For a moment, she only heard the cheesy song and saw him. The twi’lek began to move to the beat, standing close to him as they danced. Every now and then she glanced down to ensure she wasn’t stepping on his foot, clearly not used to this.

At some point she glanced over to the side to see Clove (@LilyNion )arrive. Zana’s face lit up at the sight of the half Sephi, smiling brightly. She flushed purple as Clove pointed out the dress. She made the same gesture back to compliment her, but she also followed it up with making pointing gestures at the wheelchair. For some time now she had been trying to convince Clove to let her engineer some powerful thrusters, hover capabilities and other add ons to soup up the chair.

Zana finished her greeting and turned back to Cairo, smiling at him apologetically as she accidentally stomped on his foot while looking at Clove.

If there was an opportunity to not study, meditate, practice endless saber drills, Jacata was going to take it. He walked in and scanned the room, fist bumped a few friends and nodded to others.

Jacata weaved his way through the small crowd. Some people seemed a bit too overdressed for his taste. He wore his "nice" sleeveless tunic, leaving heavily muscled arms exposed.

He poured a drink into a red plastic cup and took a sip before letting out a sigh. This was pretty chill, more chill than a Jedi party had any right to be. He took his drink and sat down at table near the karoke stage. There was no rush to be social. He leaned back slightly

When Laeonas had first learned heard the word Karaoke, he'd assumed it was a fish. When he'd learned what it was, he'd laughed his ass off, raised his pint, and sworn by Deus that "Ai'll never be caught fuckin' dead at one of those, 'oly shite." Yet here he was, riding a speeder from the hotel he'd been staying at as part of a "senior observor" (read: old) contingent of the field trip to show up to one of these. Ephiny had told him that he ought to spend more time with his fellow padawans, even if he was a fucking antideluvian standing next to them.

Just incase it became absolutely torturous, he had about six different local bars tagged on the GPS on his commlink. He was still trying to figure out how to use the thing. He'd been stuck with a particularly obnoxious ringtone for the last week that he'd been to embarrassed to ask for help fixing. Regardless, he kept the plan in the back of his mind as he paid the cab pilot his fair. Making his way into the party, he slipped an earbud in and popped on a track that he hoped would purge all the thoughts of how shittily this party could go from his mind.

He'd picked out an old fit from his wardrobe for the occassion, but thankfully he hadn't gotten to far into his current training regimen for it to get uncomfortably tight. He wore his favorite brand of mascara as well as a thin layer of concealer that hid the more obvious signs of aging that he was far to insecure to allow people to see at such an event. That and a chrono that conveniently wrapped around his left wrist, hiding the more obvious signs that the internals had been replaced. Those emerald earrings of his completed the set, and out walked Laeonas Tannaras, 29 year old Paddie extraordinaire.

He would ofcourse make his way to wherever it was that there were drinks, grabbing what looked to be the strongest booze he could find. Popping open the bottle with the force, he'd take a sip-- and spit it's contents out immediately. "PPHTOOWAH!" He emoted, cringing before placing the opened bottle on a nearbye table and leaving it there. "Teenagers... don't know the first thing about a proper drink." He muttered under his breathe, eyeing out the room full of fucking tykes.

He'd glance out into the crowd, and he'd spot only a single face that he recognized, that being the Echani he'd met on life day (@Altaris), but he seemed cozied up with some Mirialan and didn't intend to interrupt. So, without a drink or another person's hands to hold onto, the man would let his fingers twist, shoulders rotate, and body dance. The man moved with a confidence and swagger that could only come after years spent on the dance floor. He allowed his muscles to move on their own, knees working against ankles against hips against shoulders to pull him up, down, out and around. Aquamarines glazed over the crowd, faces blending together into a mass of nothing. They were, as they'd been as long as he could remember, insignificant.

Until one of his hip cracks smacked into the waist of some overdressed kid who looked like he'd arrived late to senior prom, (@Fine Dining Set). Turning, aquamarines would glance for a moment-- and than unless stopped, the man would turn, not offering an apology or even an acknowledgement, getting back to his own world.

Were they ignoring him? That felt rude. Jedi hypocrites! Cairo further noticed a feeling of coldness emanating from the the Echani. His eyes barely even registered Cairo, so focused on Zana was he. He seemed mad. Part of Cairo wanted to press that button a little bit, see just how much his mere presence around Zana annoyed him. But he had promised to be good, again, and he had something better to focus on anyways. He just made a mental note to keep an eye on Thelian in case the guy got a little squirrely.

He took her into his arms, sensing her nervousness both to be with him and to dance. He clocked as Zoya pulled Thelian to the dance floor with them. "Your friends don't seem super keen on me." His tone was light, upbeat, unserious. He was happy to be there with her. When she looked down at her feet, he raised his hand to pull her head back up. "Just follow my lead, okay?" His hands returned to her hips, where we would gently push and pull with the rhythm. This song was slow enough that they could just two step and sway, totally wrapped in one another.

Just as they were getting into a groove with each other, some grown ass man ran his ass right into Cairo. He stumbled, pulling on ZANA as it did. That was a step to far. The guy just kept walking, barely registering . It pissed him off. It took all of his strength just to stay on his two feet, move at all, while battling his addiction. Then this fucking Jedi prick knocks him over for no reason?

"Hey, bro, what the fuck?" He wanted to charge the man right there. He would have, but he remembered where he was. Deep in the heart of enemy territory. He looked back to Zana, a frown having replaced his constant smile. He had promised 'good behavior.' And he couldn't really do anything, while surrounded by Jedi who all seemed to detest him? "Fucking pricks..." He dusted himself off. "You, uh, want something to drink?"

Was this Jedi hospitality? Damn. He slipped towards the punch bowl, taking a moment away to remember why he was here. A nice night with Zana. Not to get cut up by every Jedi in the galaxy. He poured two cups of the drink, raising a hand at Zana to indicate he was returning.
