Hello everyone! I wanted to make some clarifications and updates about ranks in the Sith going forward. I've gotten questions about what to do for promotions, what the expectations are for different ranks, and a whole variety of other questions. I've noticed lately that a lot of people are staying at Acolyte and then trying to rush through Champion to Lord, which isn't really how the system is supposed to work. So let's dive straight in before this gets too long.

Acolytes
Acolyte is still an optional rank. While people are free to start at this rank, in general, I would advise people not to stay at this rank for too long. There are limits to what individuals here can do (no mission rewards, no controlling planets, not able to run their own missions/mission packs, etc.), and work done as an Acolyte is not a substitute for work done as a Champion in the Champion to Lord rank up. While people are welcome to start here for story development, I would encourage individuals to rank up quickly. Because this is not a mandatory rank, rank ups from Acolyte to Champion can be done at almost any time assuming the character is not incredibly young.

Champion/Agent/Lieutenant
As you know, this is the starting rank and the rank that people should probably be staying at for an extended period of time. This is where individuals are expected to begin fighting, proving their worth, building their power base, and advancing the faction in meaningful ways. This is really not a rank that people should be rushing through. If you've made fifty posts as a Champion and applying for rank up to Lord, it is unlikely that you're going to be approved. Socials or even taking a single planet is not going to be enough of a power base to apply for Lord. Individuals who are seeking the second rank should have significant assets to their names.

Sith Lord/Hand/Commander
This rank is the one where individuals will start to come under greater scrutiny. As was mentioned above, individuals who are Sith Lords should have extensive power and assets to their name. Portions of the galaxy that they are governing or overseeing, Champions and Acolytes who are working for them, numerous mission packs and invasions they have run, etc. These individuals are expected to be active and continually assisting the faction. Because this is a rolling timeline and individuals could potentially sit inactive on ranks for months or years, characters at this rank will be reevaluated quarterly and individuals who are not using their resources will be moved back down to Champion.

Imperial Council
Becoming a member of the Imperial Council requires a great deal of activity within the faction, a growing power base as a Sith Lord, and support of the current Imperial Council. In order to take a seat on the Imperial Council, an individual must have the endorsement of the Empress and Dark Lord as well as the majority of the Imperial Council. Please note, Aurak'kesh alone has been removed as a singular means of taking a seat on the Council. While an Aurak'kesh may be required in order to take a specific person's seat or to move up if all the seats on the Council are full, it will still require significant campaigning and endorsement by other members of the Council in order to ascend. As of this moment, new members of the Imperial Council have been added in order to assist with managing current Imperial assets.
