SmartSecure 22A

Ion Blaster Pistol

Description:

Produced by the weapons manufacturing division of the security tech company SmartSecure, the SmartSecure 22A Ion Blaster Pistol was developed for a contract deal with a band of mercenaries who operate on the other rim. This Ion Blaster was designed to combat droids and increasingly advanced armors, and other machinery. This pistol fires a light-blue bolt that is slightly larger than most pistol blaster bolts. When the Ion Blaster Pistol hits a target, the ionic particles disables any small-scale military grade equipment that the bolt directly touches. For example if the Ion Blaster directly hits a wrist rocket launcher common on Mandalorian Armors, it will be rendered non-functional for a considerable duration (3 rounds of combat), same with other devices like jetpacks, HUDs on helmets. It will also disable energy-based weapons for the same amount of time should the bolts of this weapon make contact with them, with exception of Lightsabers. While ion-based weapons are directly harmless to organics, the same does not apply to droids as it is lethal to them as it is a regular blaster pistol, but instead of being destroyed the droid will be disabled. And cybernetics will also be rendered inert if struck as well.

As for the weapon itself, it is classed as a heavy pistol. It as low ammo capacity and doesn't have as good range as normal blaster pistols of the same type, but it has good accuracy and comes equipped with a scope that has 1.5x zoom magnification and a bright green laser pointer for easier targeting to make every shot count.

After the project's success, SmartSecure started selling this on it's Holonet Shop and in select contract dealers. This item is expensive on the market, and for good reason.

Intent:
When I looked through the approved boards, I found no Ion Blasters in there. So my intent with this weapon is to give another dynamic to combat. With this weapon, it can disable armor functions (it has to directly hit the said piece to work) only one piece at a time and weapons as well. And to alleviate concerns with it being overpowered, it has low ammo capacity so every shot needs to count as much as possible. Not sure if this pistol falls unde generic tech either, but I think the scope and laser finder are also things to consider for approval as well.

Well written! Just a few things;
For example if the Ion Blaster directly hits a wrist rocket launcher common on Mandalorian Armors, it will be rendered non-functional for a long duration, same with other devices like jetpacks, huds on helmets.

To clarify, electronic disabling is limited to three rounds. Not that what you have necessarily contradicts that, but specifics with things like this are ideal for those using it that may not know.

Energy weapons will also have the powerpacks in their weapons disabled.

The only way you'd wreck a power pack is if you hit the weapon or power pack itself. You cannot neutralize a blaster by an ion bolt's proximity, there needs to be actual contact.[/QUOTE]

Besides those bits, I'm quite intrigued. Clear those matters up, and you'll be good to go

Thank you sir.

I was going by the EMP grenade as a guide of what was acceptable. So weapon disabling for 3 rounds okay? Might be borderline OP but I'm just wondering. I have no issues with removing that aspect entirely. And if it can work on weapons, what about lightsabers?

Edit: Assuming the ion bolt does directly hit the weapon too

That was a recent consensus with regards to disabling electronic systems as of now; since this is relatively untouched ground, this is subject to change as it comes into use and potentially becomes an issue. As of now, however, 3 rounds is the limit. If you wish to make it less on the grounds that it is older tech or outdated, you certainty may. And nope, they don't short out lightsabers.

Thank you sir. Edited.

And if is archived for being abused too much I'm able to resubmit right? (unless the concept is off the table entirely)

Edit: forgot to edit the intent to reflect like a noob lol

It wouldn't be immediately archived. You'd be contacted to edit it according to whatever revision in the rules was made, and then given a period of time to do it. Don't worry about it, it won't suddenly be pulled out from under you, bro.

And on that note;
