So after Rise of Skywalker what do you think is next for Canon material? Personally I don't think they'll continue with the Jedi vs. the Sith unless its in the past like KotOR. They've been setting up this theme for a little while now about Droids and what they mean to the Galaxy. Examples include: L3-37 in Solo, The Mandalorian, C-3PO always being disrespected. So I think for the future anyways that they'll turn to something more of a droid rebellion or an A.I. uprising of sorts, droid independence would be a cool theme to explore in the future of Star Wars.

That’s a decent observation with the droids, and maybe so, but at least lately they seem to be more gimmicky than foretelling or anything. Lucas sold the insert-droids-here tradition with C-3P0 and R2-D2 so any film or game or whatsuch afterward was bound to follow suit.

As far as Jedi and Sith go, I haven’t seen TROS, just read up on the ending and stuff, but I imagine that they could easily revive emphasis on the Force to some extent. Didn’t Rey walk off into the sunlight after saying she was Skywalker because Skywalker? So Skywalker forward some Skywalker years later and Jedi and Sith or their ugly children will be probably be Skywalkering for Skywalker.

If future canon is anything like The Mandalorian then I’m sold, Force or Gorce or horse. Just, please, let’s shift focus over to a new family if a family at all, like the Cloudrunners.

I mean, not being able to write about Sith post ROTS (at least until the whole NJO, LOTF, Legacy era garbage and whatnot) never stopped the EU from making up rogue Jedi, Dark Side cults, Sith-worshipping sects, Sith ghosts and apparitions etc. etc.

Plus they could always bring the Emperor back for a third time around. Or do Emperor clones. Or posession etc. etc.

I mean it all sounds hilariously wild and outlandish on paper, but it all happened in Legends material, so who the hell knows what could happen next really.

Would Disney take to the wild and outlandish material, though?

It’s not a rhetorical question, I am wondering. They seem to be a little more cautious and conservative with the Legends stuff. With the talk of an Obi-Wan series, my impression (which should be taken with a considerable grain of salt) is that Disney might try to milk the existing universe for what it’s worth before moving on to anything new.

Honesty I am hoping we can discover more of the other characters, such as Finn, Rose, Phasma, etc. I mean they may not get the same attention as the main character(s) but I feel like a lot of them deserved better because they were overlooked in the main films.
