NAME: Stedon Ruslip

FACTION: Sith Empire

RANK: Acolyte

SPECIES: Human

AGE: 35

GENDER: Male

HEIGHT: 6’ 2”

WEIGHT: 220 lbs

FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes

APPEARANCE:

A slightly older gentleman of very muscular stature, Stedon is the ideal image of a human male newly entering into his older years. Slightly tanned skin mostly covered in old scars and wounds, his hair is peppered with grey and white while missing a thin sliver of hair where a mangled burn scar extending from his brow to the crown of his head ruins his otherwise usually short and brushed back hair befitting an well-put-together older human. No facial hair, Stedon instead has done little to remove any of his scarring, instead holding himself with an almost practiced demeanor ignorant of his mauled visage. His back bears the scars of whips and other torture implements, his arms are covered in old defensive wounds, and his body covered in incision marks for those who can look past the newer scars obtained from war. That is, if you can see him without the mask of his armor on, believing keeping his appearance as secret as possible in an organization built on subterfuge as wise.

ATTRIBUTES:

Stedon was designed for war, torn from a feeble and scared child, built and molded into a weapon for the vicious Old Empire philosophy as much as a toy as genuine interest. He bears the muscles and brute strength of a significant melee combatant, but only that, superficially. While he was experimented on from an early age to be a warrior, Stedon was ultimately never interested in honing the body as much as his mind, inheriting physical prowess purely out of survival rather than any natural ability. Strong? Yes, but not aggressively so. Dexterous? Yes, but not deftly so. Fast? No, raw muscles are heavy. A lack of real martial skill desire resulted in a forced appearance with only tangential benefits. What his trials did impart to Stedon was a high pain tolerance, stamina and focus, unintentionally.

Stedons power and reason for even being a convincing Sith Acolyte lies in his mind. Forged from years as a plaything for a maniacal Sith Crusader, he was broken, rebuilt, and broken again. The result was a mind that is as honed as a vibroblade not through intent, but by the long and eventually won struggle to maintain a sliver of himself to spite his Sith tormentor. Simple brute strength wasn’t enough in the few opportunities Stedon had at exacting his vengeance on his tormentor, so intelligence was needed. This was equally applied to the various tasks he was forced to perform for survival. His tormentor fostered Stedons focus on the mind, it made for good soldiers and assassins after all, and over time Stedon convinced his “Master” he was subservient and trained to a limited degree in the Force. Where Stedon falls flat is on any kind of prolonged recreational social interactions, empathy, having been deprived of them for a long time, he is capable of deceptions spanning years. While articulate, he rarely speaks and despite his informed appearance is generally introverted not through fear but an imbued dislike of his peers beyond a common goal.

PERSONALITY:

There is an original and a current Stedon, the latter having largely been created as a protective shell around the former. Stedon was trained and tormented to be a weapon, and so social interaction is seen as largely a necessary evil rather than anything sought. He tends to speak curtly, does not mince words, but the lack of elaboration leads to an air of either succinctness or arrogance. That is not to say he is devoid of any social skill at all, but his trails have convinced him that most people he would be talking to have little of interest to say beyond whatever task is at hand. A savvy socialite could potentially peg his cold and quiet demeanor as a defense mechanism against whatever horrors he suffered through for years. Further backed by his refusal to show his face to anyone beyond his closest confidants.

But, for those that can pierce his mental barriers, Stedon is rather unusual for a Sith. He does not seek power for the sake of power, particularly at the expense of others. It is not that power is not desired, his desire is just as strong, but he sees the wanton expenditure of others as a reduction in assets and therefore a weakness. Despite appearance, he sees little value in brute strength, instead preferring deceptive or precise solutions to problems (or combat). He abhors torture, preferring persuasion and blackmail rather than resorting to violence, seeing resorting to inflicting pain as an admission of failure. After all, his old Master only had to have asked nicely to win his true loyalty, and was destroyed for failing to do so.

BIOGRAPHY:

Stedon is a human born on a planet on the fringes of Old Empire space prior to unification, a lower tech civilization that largely subsisted off farming. It was regularly raided by the Sith for slaves and various resources the inhabitants had no access to. In his youth, Stedon came to admire the few freedom fighters that would dare to rescue his fellow villagers from the Sith raids, enamored with the ferocity and righteousness they fought with. That is, until his own village was raided and one of these defenders of justice appeared to save him and his community. Stedon mocked the Sith that had captured him, just before the rebel sacrificed herself in order to save him. Dead, Stedon didn’t understand how a hero could have fallen despite being so right, and didn’t understand why the rebel wouldn’t sacrifice a few of his village to save the rest. He became disenchanted with the idea of a “all good” defender of righteousness.

Immediately following the failed rescue attempt, Stedon caught the attention of a particularly cruel Old Empire Sith Crusader when he attempted to Force Push him off the landing ramp high above the planet. Naturally being his first exposure to the Force, he failed, and instead was “chosen” as a toy or pet by the Sith. So began the trials of Stedon. The Sith Crusader wanted to both turn Stedon into an experimental soldier as well as torment him for his own amusement. What better prize than to turn a child that believed so strongly in “good” into a weapon of the Dark Side? Initially Stedon merely suffered torment and was broken again and again, tempering his body while breaking his mind. Later, as Stedon appeared subservient, he began to be trained in rather traditional manners in the ways of the Force. But never with the intent to be more than a slave to the Sith Crusader. He was kept isolated for the majority of his “training”, treated like a personal trophy, and a punching bag for the Sith Crusader all for his youthful arrogance. He was not allowed a lightsaber, despite being trained in the Forms using training sabers, since he “would never be a true Sith” and thus only allowed vibro weaponry to actually use when sent on tasks.

Nevertheless, as Stedon matured, he was taught more about Sith culture and the world at large. A good bodyguard/assassin needed to know these things after all. He was mercilessly drilled on articulation and manners, faux pas in public were severely punished, if only for the amusement of the Sith Crusader. At this point Stedon had executed several missions on the behalf of the Sith Crusader, convincing him that he had discovered a process by which he could create an army of unquestionably loyal force warriors. It was his undoing. As the War of Unifcation began, the Sith Crusader decided to properly test both his own and Stedons battlefield performance. On the front lines, the Sith Crusader arrogantly chose a fight he could not win. Beaten and wounded, he crawled to Stedon for protection despite his absence during the fight. His last emotion was confusion as Stedon cut him down before his pursuers, completing his years long plan of vengeance. The Crusader dead, Stedon assumed the identity of his apprentice, declared loyalty to the Empire, and was summarily imprisoned until the war was over years later. Having killed his “master” Stedon was granted the title of Acolyte after demonstrating he indeed had skill and potential, and assumed the handful of his old masters resources he knew of (most of which he did not). Constructed his first real lightsaber from the implements he was tortured with and records left behind, and after a few years of learning everything he could, left for Korriban as the Empire dissolved with the intent of removing either Jedi or Sith as major influencers on Galactic affairs, seeing both as incompetent stewards. But he would need more training, experience, and perhaps occasional help…

SKILLS:

Stedon was initially trained to be a Force wielding soldier, as such he has rudimentary knowledge of firearms, medical equipment, and technology (pointy end is either good or bad depending type knowledge). Given his upbringing on a nondescript backwater, he knows his little used or cared for native tongue as well as those common ones he learned during his servitude to the Old Sith Empire. He is a capable pilot, but nothing exceptional due to a lack of focus. The bulk of his skills lie much more in his deceptions and manipulations inadvertently drilled ruthlessly by a cruel Sith Crusader he ultimately killed.

Being a Sith Force user, Stedon was trained in the ways of the Dark Side. He is capable of wielding the majority of the basic abilities, push, pull, speed, etc, but none are particularly strong as a result of his Master stymieing his training. Potential may yet remain. Where Stedon excels is in abilities such as Mind Trick, hiding his Force presence, and application of the basic abilities in unconventional manners. Such applications involve minute influences during combat such as gentle pushes at footwork, slight pulls on the enemy weapons, and generally inflicting a flurry of minor inconveniences that can leave an unexpected opening through which Stedons not-insignificant raw abilities can exploit effectively. This strategy is combined with his imposing physical appearance that would suggest he favors his raw abilities much more.

Again, while having been initially trained on Form I, Stedon has a heavier focus on Forms II and III given the purpose of his training. He employs a slightly modified Form III most frequently with the intent of trying to predict the actions of his opponent’s blaster OR lightsaber (primarily lightsaber given era trained in), trying to manipulate and exploit openings before swapping over to Form II for the killing strike. However, for lack of major experience beyond being forced to harass villagers or low-level smugglers and a short tour on a battlefield, Stedon has had little actual interaction with major opponents and thus cannot be considered much more skilled than “intermediate” skill in either of his favored techniques among peers. The major advantage he tries to leverage in his few skirmishes or duels is simply the unexpected precision and elegance he employs, trying to quickly end the fight before his opponent realizes he doesn’t rely on or enhance his physical attributes frequently.

At the point in time your character would have been in their youth, the Jedi were dead as dead can be as far as the galaxy is aware with only very few very specific survivors. Nobody would be able to claim to be them either. They could be a group of rebels though or something similar, as an easier alternative.

And next thing would be changing the Sith Lord and all references to them to a Sith Crusader. Only Sith Lords that exist are player characters.

Everything else looks fine

Done and done! Lemme know if I missed a reference somewhere! I think I got em all. Will this character carry through the microTL? I mean... unless he decides to headbutt a sarlacc in between somewhere.
