Toydaria​

Nick sat alone in the empty Cantina as he waited for the Jedi he had been assigned to work with arrived. He was on edge, he wasn't sure he was ready to trust these Jedi. The only reason he had agreed to it at all was the fact that a Jedi had helped try to defend the Rangers on Corellia.

He ordered another drink and looked around. It felt weird being in an empty cantina, hopefully, the Jedi would show up soon and they could get on with their investigation.

Nick had brought with him several items that they were going to try and sell as stolen goods. That would get them access to the fence, and from there they could try and press for information on who had sold him items in the past.

It wouldn't be easy, once a fence snitched they were pretty much out of business but Nick wouldn't lose to much sleep over shutting down a criminal regardless.

[Felix Targrin]

Felix wasn't too sure about any of this, but drastic measures tended to throw petty disputes out of the window. Here was exactly that. The rangers were reeling from a attack and now it was time for action. Who knows maybe things would go in favor of the good guys for once. Still Felix didn't have much to dislike about the Sector rangers, they just wanted to uphold the law and ensure order in the galaxy. The only thing bugging him was how fast they were growing in power... Times were desperate but he had fear that well they were ripe to morph into something other than marshals and that power would sew rot into their foundation.

Though that could be put aside for the time being. What needed to be addressed was the possibility that these Sith were up to something big in Toydaria and stopping them was top priority. Felix was making his way to the cantina, gone were his usual Jedi robes as he decided to dress in something more discrete, a stun baton hanged off from a belt loop and for once he brought his lightsaber with as it thumped around in his inside jacket pocket. He heard that Lightsabers were amongst the stolen goods and that meant that he would need to prepare for the worst.

The door to the lonely Cantina slid open and the scraggly jedi walked inside. The lack of people gave it an eerie air to the place but it made it pretty easy to find the Ranger as he was both the only person inside and well the only one with a badge and a iron on their hip. He walked his way over to the table the ranger was sat at. He had to admit this guy had an air to him, hard to nail down, but a familiar one making felix wonder why he was feeling it. Felix eventually brushed it off he was probably just on edge from the whole ordeal.

"I take it you must be Shaw? I'm Felix and well from my understanding we got some business with a seller to attend to."

Simple and to the point, the sooner they could get to the Fence and question him the fresher the trail to the buyer would be.

He heard someone entered, looking up to see the newcomer walk in. He nodded as the man approached him and asked if he was the man he was looking for. Nick nodded and gestured to the seat next to him. "Nice to mee ya Felix, the name's Nick. Take a seat. Always better to drink with someone before working with them." he said.

He waved the bartender droid over. "I'll have another and get one here for my friend." he said gesturing his head towards Felix. The bartender came back with two beers and set them in front of the men and walked away.

"I'll have to admit, you are not what I was expecting." he said with a bit of a chuckle. "...and that was a good thing. I had heard stories of you all having a thing for robes." he said with another laugh. You learned to blend in with the criminal element as a Ranger, and he could appreciate this Jedi seemed to have the sense.

"You do any police work before?" he asked the man as he took a sip of his beer.

Felix took his seat next to the Ranger. He was actually curious what the ranger perspective on him and the Jedi would be. When the droid came by and deposited a beer infront of Felix. He would take long slow sips throughout the discourse both to pace himself and to savor the taste. He decided not to pursue the query of how much his friend had already had. Though he had to agree getting to know someone before getting to work was better especially considering that at Naboo his introduction to his personal padawan was... well frantic to put it lightly.

Though he had to smile at his comment over his appearance. "I figured that my homeless monk chic would clash too much with the Toydarian fashion scene." Felix said with a healthy dose of sarcasm baked into his voice. He had a good feeling about nick already. Though then he asked him about his experience with police work which caused his grin to fade.

"To be honest I might as well be green. I've been to plenty of places in desperate need of the law and interacted with my fair share of shady types but I never had a badge or the training that comes with it. I'll likely be following your lead on this." Felix was going to be frank about this, he didn't want to sell the Ranger the moon.

"Well, I appreciate it. Next time we need to raid a church, you can definitely bring it out." he said with a bit of a laugh as he took another sip.

He listened as the man said he had next to no experience when it came to these sorts of things. That was fine, he would rather have someone who was upfront about it than someone who tried to bullshit him. "We all got to start somewhere I suppose." he said with a shrug.

He leaned in a little closer and spoke more quietly. "But you have one of those...ya know..." he said holding up his hand like he was holding a sword. "..Laser swords or whatever you call them." he said.

Nick neared the end of his beer. It was just about the time he had scheduled for them to meet with this so-called fence. He downed the rest of his beer and put the glass down on the table before laying some credits down on the bartop. "You ready to go?" he asked moving to stand.

Felix listened as he took another sip of his beer nearly having to fight to avoid spitting out his drink. Why was it always when he was mid drink he had to stifle a laugh? He was also glad that Nick while not exactly sounding thrilled was at least willing to tolerate Felix's lack of experience.

Then the penny dropped as Nick had to ask about the 'laser swords'. Felix was fighting every urge to roll his eyes as he simply opened up his jacket to reveal a silver colored cylindrical object sitting neatly in a pocket. He would give Nick enough time to process and study the device before closing up his jacket again.

"I have one and no before you ask you can't play with it." Felix replied half serious and half in jest. Still while sadly the lightsaber was now a symbol of chaos it would be useful thanks to that as surely it would serve as a good lure for the fence. Though as he was answering the query his eyes would drift towards the clock and watch it tick away the seconds. He was ready to move and act. He could feel his right leg restlessly bobbing up and down. So seeing Nick pay his tab was relieving. His body already knew the answer as he got up.

"Always" He muttered already eyeing the door and ready to exit out into the streets of Toydaria.

He gave a fake frown when Felix told him he couldn't play with it. It really didn't fit his needs anyway, but he was still quite curious about the ancient weapon of the Jedi. However, he was more interested in how to be effective against it. Perhaps these Jedi could one day help him in that area.

As they left the empty cantina, they headed to the west part of town. Their intel had indicated the fence had set up in the back of a part store. "Alright when we get there, I want you to take this part." he said pulling out a droid memory core and handed it to the Jedi. "Tell him you aquired this and it contains information of some ancient weapons. We need to draw in whoever this seller of his is." he said.

A few moments later they came to the store. A blinking sing above he door head "Plu's Parts and More." with several lets no longer working. "You will have to talk your way into actually getting to him. Radio is things start to go south." he said.

"Any questions?" he asked.
