DESCRIPTION​

The Storm IV twin-pod cloud car is a combat repulsorcraft manufactured by Bespin Motors of the gas giant planet Bespin. Originally developed for the Bespin Wing Guard to defend the planet's valuable tibanna gas mining operations, it has found a measure of success on the export market as well. It can presently be found on many worlds, especially other gas giants.

The Storm IV is a sleek, fast vehicle, consisting of twin pod-like fuselages connected by a central wing structure, in the center of which is the vehicle's drive unit. The vehicle has a crew of 2, each accommodated in their own cockpit; the pilot is seated in the left pod, while the gunner occupies the right. Top speed is an impressive 1,500 kph, with a flight ceiling extending to the edge of a planetary atmosphere; cloud cars of this model are also extremely maneuverable, and have been known to take down TIE fighters in atmospheric combat. Armament consists of twin medium blaster cannons, 1 in each pod.

Storm IV cloud cars are used primarily by law enforcement agencies and planetary militias, usually on gas giant worlds or ecumenopoleis, although the type can be found almost anywhere. They are of course also used by mercenaries and criminals.

LEGALITY​

Restricted. Storm IV twin-pod cloud cars are combat craft, if limited ones, and are subject to extra licensing requirements and increased scrutiny by authorities.
