Yvain had always loved his giant cuddly friends that were the Wookiee people of Kashyyyk. He had visited the planet often over his nearly three centuries of life, both before and after the devastation of the planet by the Galactic Empire. In that time he had made friends with a number of the clan leaders of the ferocious species, Kerrithrarr was one of these leaders. Yvain concerned about the effective fighting force of the Jedi had reached out to his old friend to see if he and his people would lend them their strength.

The old Wookiee was not unopposed to such a thing but he was not the only one who would need convincing, many of his strongest warriors voiced opinions over fighting for anyone who was not their own. "Kerrithrarr is a good friend. But much is to be done to mend the wounds of the Wookiee's. This is the task he has set to gain his support. I trust in The Force that you are more than capable. I wish you luck and May The Force be With You!!"

Kashyyyk. Lani's first mission since her grand mishap. The very same mishap that probably forced the Council to crack down on the "Padawans roaming around unsupervised". As expected, this time Galania was accompanied by a full-fledged Knight. And a familiar one at that. The same mysterious small green alien who had informed the Zeltron of her Force sensitivity back on New Alderaan what seemed like an eternity ago.

Galania has come a long way since then. Not only in her growing abilities and control of the Force; but also her disillusion in herself and the Jedi Order. She had arrived on Yavin IV, hoping that the Jedi had any clue about the whereabouts of her missing sister, Jedi Master Nykoria Tallis. But it turned out that the Jedi had little to no clue; they even played "Kath-Hound in the Middle" with Nykoria's most prized possession, completely disregarding the value it held to the young Zeltron.

Of course, Lani made her own share of mistakes, the mishap being one of them. If anything, it demonstrated the young Zeltron her own weakness, and planted a seed of uncertainty. Did she truly belong where she was? If it hadn't been for the encouragement of Master Izel Thral, the Zeltron would've probably just quit the Jedi Order and returned to New Alderaan, labeling the whole Jedi stint as "something that didn't work out".

But for the moment, she was there. Still wearing the weathered oversized brown-grey-ish leather jacket. Tattered and burnt in the shipwreck on Ajan Kloss, and carefully stitched by a friend back at the Yavin Temple. Lani didn't dare to bring any of Nykoria's weapons along, deeming herself unworthy of them. So for the time being, she was armed with her own stun pistol holstered on the hip, and two halves of the electrostaff attached to the utility belt. Since the young Zeltron didn't have her own lightsaber yet, other armaments would have to suffice.

There was, however, a thing that still worried her: "Uhhhh... Just curious, does any of you speak or understand Wookiee? I forgot to bring a translator along."

Being one of the first Jedi Sace had ever met, Yvain was a comforting site. A sense of overwhelming joy overcame the serpent as he was asked to take part in this mission, finally becoming part of the Jedi Order and beginning his life anew. This would be the Sluissi's very first mission, and he certainly did not want to come unprepared, though he was lacking in one of the most important tools of a Jedi, a lightsaber.

Grabbing an old blaster from the old freighter he had "borrowed" from his father, and slung the katana sheathed around his hip. There were many ancient artifacts that Sace just knew belonged to his old relative...though he knew not the importance of each item, nor necessarily how to wield them. Moreso he did not know that the katana was in fact a long hilted lightsaber with a durasteel blade at the end. Placing a thick grey hooded robe over his similarly color matched tunic, Sace had only heard of the planet of Kashyyk...knew for sure that it could be rainy and cold, which would bode well for the cold-blooded padawan. The site of the planet was breathtaking. Who knew those giant wookiee beasts from Nar Shaddaa came from a planet this beautiful.

Slithering out to meet with Yvain, he noticed a slender Zeltron also taking part in this debriefing. Listening to the mission, it seemed straight forward...more diplomatic and less action, which Sace was alright with seeing as this was his first mission.

Responding to the Zeltron's question..."You have a point...I..." And on que, Sace's R-8 Series astromech droid coming rolling in behind the serpent...the hunk of metal was embarrassing to say the least, though as outdated and unkept he was, it had belonged to a master Jedi in the past...Sace's great ancestor.

"Welp...Ssshorty might be able to help..." Sace motioned toward the droid, though in truth he wasnt sure if the thing had any translation capability. "By the way...the namess Sssace...pleasure to meet you!"

Yvain pattered up next to the two Padawans, the small group of Jedi were high among the trees of Kashyyyk already awaiting an audience with Kerrithrarr and his elders. The view was magnificent, the mixed canopy's of trees large and small, green, red, brown and yellow danced out like a rolling sea before them. In the distance the holy Origin Tree stood mighty above all else in the land. The old Jedi Knight smiled taking in a deep breath of the cool air.

"Luckily Padawan Lani, I have had the great pleasure of learning Shyriiwook from Kerrithrarr and his father and he and a few of his other elders now basic, so we should not have to much of an issue." Looking up at the two he gave them one of his traditional happy smiles, hoping to release any nerves the two Padawans had. "Although I am here to assist, treat me only as a translator. This will be a test and learning experience for you both. I am only here as a last resort, I expect that you two will carry out the mission perfectly without my help. Any questions?"

The view on the wroshyr forest was honestly breathtaking. It seemed that the farther Galania went from her birthplace—that being Coruscant—the more beautiful it became. New Alderaan was teeming with wildlife, Yavin IV was almost untamed, and Kashyyyk seemed to be... in harmony.

Lani's contemplation was interrupted by the arrival of another Padawan: a giant sentient snake towering over the Zeltron and the Jedi Knight accompanying them. Had it not been for Yvain's encouraging smile and the warmth that the old Jedi was radiating in the Force, the Zeltron would've been intimidated. Nodding at the other Padawan's introduction, the purple-skinned woman replied: "Likewise. I'm Galania."

Meanwhile, the Knight explained the nature of the mission... Or what the Jedi knew so far. It made sense that Yvain was sent there to watch the Padawans and ensure their safety, not to do the job for them. "I understand, master," the Zeltron lowered her head in a brief nod. "My only question is what the Wookiees seek from us... But I believe we're about to find out." The Zeltron tilted her head towards the catwalk, as a giant Wookiee—taller than Sssace even—approached the trio of Jedi.

The Wookiee's fur was soft-black, with slivers of gray here and there. Clad in ornate pauldrons and with a bowcaster on his back, he certainly made the impression of a warrior of high standing; if not the chieftain whom master Yvain had told them about. The sound of the calm deep roar made the young Zeltron shudder for a moment, even if she did realize later that there was no hostile intent.

Galania...fitting for a Zeltron. The Sluissi thought, of which he had met only a handful from his time throughout the galaxy. Though, those he had known were seedy and manipulative to say the least. He felt more comrfortable knowing that there was another Padawan here with him, though it was evident that this was Sace's first real mission, or first time meeting another Jedi besides Yvain and another Jedi Knight. The Sluissi nodded toward the Zeltron and have a wry smile.

The Sluissi kept close attention to Yvains words, trying to remember them in case he would be tested later. Sace would not want to be unprepared, or overshadowed by other Padawans. He wanted to make a good impression by any means necessary, though in the past that has come back to hurt him.

"Yesss bosss!" The Sluissi replied to Yvain, not picking up on the social cue to refer to him as master...His title is a Jedi Knight...do I still call him Master?! The Sluissi still had a lot to learn, though it would come with time, of that he had no doubt.

Then came the Wookiee. His armor was something to be hold, as well as his stature, towering over even himself. "Greetingsss Chieftain...it is a pleasure to be at your ssservice." The serpent gave a small bow of his head.

Kerrithrarr, like most of his kind seemed intimidating at first, a hulking brute of muscle, fur, claws and teeth. Yvain thought it was such a shame that they could not speak basic, as much about their species would be shown to the galaxy if they could communicate easier. "Greeting Kerrithrarr, this is Padawan Lani and Padawan Sace." Yvain introduced the pair to the giant Wookiee. "He says it his a pleasure to meet you both, please follow him."

Kerrithrarr led the small group Yvain at the rear inside the main building on the side of the giant tree. As they entered the Padawans would be met with the sight of eight large Wookiee's all warriors, armed with blade and bow. A few snarled at the pair, these would be the harder ones to convivence, but a few bowed their head in greeting to the three. The chief took his seat at the head of the building and began talking, a few moments later Yvain translated for the pair. "Clan Clawtooth, have been friends of the Jedi for generations. But the last time we sided with you, the Jedi lost and for half a century our Clan suffered. Why should we help you know?" Yvain finished raising an eyebrow to the pair.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too," the reply would come with the slight delay, just as the Wookiee turned to lead the way. Shyriiwook—how could Lani have forgotten the name?—sure was an intimidating language to master. Luckily, with Knight Yvain at their side, the mission seemed doable. Galania followed their host and other Jedi, only to end up in the circle of other furred giants. Twitching at the unexpected snarls, the Zeltron still found it in herself to return a half-bow.

The question that the Wookiees asked was tricky though. It would make the Zeltron go deep in thought for a while. Is that some sort of test? Surely they wouldn't have asked the Padawans to secure an important alliance. But even if it was a test, Lani would have to pass it... somehow. The Padawan had read up on the history of Kashyyyk before the mission. The planet faced Imperial occupation, exploitation, and slavery. But did it have anything to do with the Wookiees' allegiance with the Jedi? It did not, apart from the fact that the Jedi had been destroyed, thus allowing the atrocities to happen.

On the other hand, Galania had experienced first-hand on Ajan Kloss what the Sith could do. She had felt the sacked Jedi Temple, its surroundings drained of life and corrupted by Darkness. She had seen the power that the Sith wielded. A part of her doubted that she'd ever be strong and skilled enough to combat them. Someone without the Force might stand even less of a chance...

"I..." Galania finally uttered a word, trying to vocalize everything she had felt so far. "I understand why you wouldn't want to side with the Jedi... Siding with us will draw the ire of the Sith." Way to go, Lani, keep at it and they might just tell you to pack up your stuff and leave the planet. However, it was only fair to warn the Wookiees of the pitfalls. Once she had reiterated their own opinion, the Zeltron could finally address the real problem. The Chieftain seemed to be mixing up the cause and the effect; and Galania had an idea of how to explain it; hopefully without offending their hosts.

"It will end in bloodshed," the young woman shrugged, accepting that it probably would be the case. "And the Sith are a dangerous foe... They had wiped out the Jedi once, and they'll try to do so again." So far, it seemed like Galania was talking the Wookiees out of taking her request. And yet, this is where the cause and effect changed place. "And after that..." the Zeltron's voice started growing more confident. "After that they'll set sights on ruling the entire galaxy, like they always do. Already they are attacking worlds: Ryloth, Denon, Byblos..."

Weathered beyond her young years, the Zeltron sighed. "It seems like no matter what we do, the fight is inevitable. The question is, whether we let them force the fight on each of us alone, on their terms... Or join our forces and repel them together." Despite the rhetoric, Galania spoke of it rather wearily; as if not convinced that defeating the Sith was a likely prospect. She continued just as calmly and sadly, inviting everyone to just give it a thought: "You said that your clan suffered the last time the Jedi lost. But was it because you sided with the Jedi, or because there were no Jedi to stop it?"

There, the genie was out of the bottle. Unless interrupted, Galania would go silent, letting the thoughts sink in. Her gaze would shift towards Yvain, and then to Sace, wondering what the other Padawan had to say on the matter.

The Sluissi bit his forked tongue...matters such as these...matters of history and knowledge of such was not something the young serpent was too keen on. And moreso, he would not want to come off so ignorant by replying to something that the Wookiee chieftain clearly brought up from the past. Just as Kerrithrarr brought the trio onto the treetop platform in order to meet the other Wookiee elders, Sace felt even smaller. He was unaware of the details that had caused the Jedi to fall to the Sith, unaware of exactly how they were deceived by the Emperor and how their own clones were pitted against them. Certainly had he known, he would realize the position the Wookiee's were in. To not make this mistake again.

And so he bit his tongue and listened as best he could...to the Wookiee's inquiries and to Galania's wise words. The Zeltron, on the other hand, was clear and precise on their position and knowledge of the past. Sace wasnt jealous, however. He was actually glad that she knew more than he, because if she didnt...they would surely fail this mission.

"No Jedi to stop it?"

Brilliant, the Sluissi thought. The Wookiees stern and unwavering faces couldnt help but start to break after that comment. Flip the script around, make the perceptions of the past Jedi seem honorable and futile to dispute. If only Sace knew how foolish their downfall made them look...how weak they truly were at the time. And when the time came for the Zeltron to finish, Sace had no intention on wrecking whatever progress she had made with the elder Wookiees, if any....

Though sometimes he just couldn't help himself.

"The way I ssssee it, you truthfully dont have many optionsss..." The Padawan said boldly as he uncoiled his tail and slithered more to the center of the platform nearer to Kerrithrarr.

"What happened in the passst, I cannot attessst to. I was not even a thought. Though what are your optionsss here and now? Sssurely there is a war going on, between the Jedi and the Sssith. and sssurely you will be brought in the middle of it. Sssuppose you try not to take sssides...something different. Sssuppose you try your luck to defend youssselves. well my bessst wishes, but the war will ssstill come here...the Sssith will ssstill try and take your kind as ssslaves, and the Jedi will attempt to defend your people, though at the disadvantage of being a reactionary measure." The Sluissi increased his stature and slithered passed each Wookiee elder, his forked tongue slipping from his lips between words. His emotions bearing on his skin and his passion coming to the forefront of his personality.

"Now sssay you ssside with the Sssith...I know but lets sssay. They will use you and your kind as cannon fodder in thisss war...and maybe you will win, but at what cossst? Not only will your kind be weakened from the fight, but you will be in control of the ssslave honoring Sssith lords." Sace really didnt want to push his luck, or his abilities of diplomacy, though it was evident to all listening that his emotions were getting the better of him.

"Now sssiding with us? Sssiding with the current and present Jedi? I can personally asssure you that I will do anything and everything in my power to sssee that you get what you need and require to live...freedom. I cannot ssspeak for all Jedi, but I know that many, especially myssself, join this Order so that we can rid the galaxy of a certain evil, and that evil is the Sssith. And choosing to ssside with the Jedi, we can make a stronghold to prepare for any invasion that the enemy may have plannedand it can be your people to oversee it how you feel fit. I underssstand that you need to make this choice with your young ones and elders in mind, though who would they be the sssafest in trusting?"

The Sluissi finished, returning to his side along the other Jedi and his astromech. Looking at them, already sorry for his apparent intrusion into this world of diplomacy that they have been practicing for their entire careers, and he for only today. The Sluissi put his head down and awaited scolding or backlash, or both.

Yvain smiled at the two Padawans, they had both held themselves well and communicated strong points. The fact that Lani went with the victim approach and Sace with the more aggressive one worked well. As it seemed that the Wookiees would have to combat both sides of the argument instead of one. Like most of their race all the elders and great warriors understood Galactic Basic so no translation was needed between them. Although Yvain could understand their language he did not have the physical vocal attributes to speak it.

"Your Padawan's hold themselves well Master Yvain." Kerrithrarr said to him, though he did not translate that part. The Wookiee elder then asked his next questions which he translated. "You say Padawan Sace that you would protect us, but how? Are their not less of you than when you fell before? Are their also not more Sith than the first time? Two destroyed your order now an entire fleet of them walks from the Outer rim? And you Padawan Lani what do you offer us in return than just the hope that you will one day protect us? We are giving the lives of our children for your war."

Lani had wondered if she had perhaps been too grim or militaristic in her chosen approach. But that doubt faded away as soon as she heard Sace provide his outlook. Unlike the purple-skinned girl, the serpent proved to be much more pushy. He further developed the point that Lani came up with, and sounded much more self-assured and driven than the Zeltron was.

Even though Galania didn't understand Shyriiwook, she did understand emotions. Reading the Wookiees was hard, but some things the Zeltron could pick up. Concern, perhaps for the future of the clan and the upcoming war. Some degree of understanding of the Jedi position, as evidenced by the lack of outright hostility towards Sace's more pushy remarks.

However, there were still questions to be answered. As Lani heard the translated question, she lowered her gaze and shook her head. "Lives of the children..." the Zeltron said, mostly to herself. "Nobody can offer something as valuable as that in return..." And yet, there was something to the question, or the way it was asked. Something that allowed the Padawan to continue her line of thought.

"Nobody can offer something as valuable as that in return," she raised her gaze repeated the phrase outloud, confident in its verity. "I, a mere Padawan in the Jedi Order, don't have the power to offer more than you already have. It's not the hope of us protecting you one day; the Wookiees have demonstrated that they can do that themselves."

The Zeltron stated that part matter-of-factly, and made a pause before her next point. "I haven't been in the Order for too long. But from what I've learned, the Jedi always try to help those in need. Be it through healing, diplomacy, or combat. I'm the exact opposite of a member of a Jedi Council, but one thing I can promise. Whatever decision you make today, the Jedi will still remain the friends of the Wookiees, as long as you'd have us as friends. If you need help, we'll try to help you regardless of your decision today." What else could the Zeltron even offer?

"Truthfully, I'm not even sure if or when the Sith will make their next move, and what their plans for Kashyyyk are," Galania made another shrug, her brown eyes going from one Wookiee to the next and so on, circling their council of warriors. "All of that are but assumptions, derived from galactic history. It's not worth giving the lives of your children for our war. If you look at it like that, it would be indeed pointless."

And there she was again, almost talking the Wookiees out of it. But there was more to be said; something that could again turn the tide. The Zeltron tilted her head, letting all the previous thoughts sink in for a moment: "But if me and Padawan Sace are right, then you wouldn't be giving the lives of your children for our war. You'd be giving them for the lives and freedom of your grandchildren. This is the only thing I know of comparable value."

A part of her just wondered if she was building up her entire sales pitch on some future events not yet set in stone, spiced up by philoshophical rhetoric. But there was only so much Lani could do.

Sace was able to reel himself in after he had spoke and assumed his initial position beside his fellow Jedi. Though after hearing Yvain speak through the Wookiee's translated words, Sace feared that his own words did not enforce the intent that the young Jedi had. He realized that he may have come forth aggressive, though many times the Wookiee's were an aggressive species, and a warrior tribe. Sace figured that the words he had spoke would carry to that within their culture. Though he was afraid that they didnt.

No, Sace did not have specific plans for how they would defeat the Sith, or exactly how to protect the Wookiee's, but his point remained...they dont have many options. Sace gritted his teeth...he could not attest to the Jedi of the past, nor the Sith. Could not say who was more powerful or more wise compared to present day. But he knew that their efforts right here and now, their intentions, were to save the Wookiee people and that of other worlds as much as they can. And with the more allies they had the easier this fight might be.

Listening to Lani speak, Sace knew that they were both on the same path, albeit different speeds. Sace thought that brute realization and honestly would be enough to win the Wookiee over, but Lani knew that it would take a bit more finesse. Sace couldnt have agreed more with each and every word the Zeltron spoke.

"Lani is right...your freedom is our utmossst concern...and the more allies we have in this fight, the better ALL of our chancesss are." Sace would not say more...he had already said enough, and his last retort was only to unify the feelings that both Jedi had toward the Wookiee's.

Yvain smiled at Lani, she had spoken well and some of the grunts, nods and whispered Shyriiwook seemed to confirm his thoughts. It was a shame that Sace had not followed up his strong opening statement, perhaps that may have swayed the Wookiees now but a few still seemed hesitant of the pair.

The conversations between the Wookies were longer than the first time, a few now stood on their side and they now gave their own opinions to those still hesitant to side with the Jedi. Finally after around five minutes of internal conversation Kerrithrarr spoke to Yvain. "Padawan's you do well for your order." He felt it right to allow them to hear the praise they rightly deserved. "However some are still worried, we are bound by our words as you all know. So if we agree to help you, no matter what happens we will follow you until it costs us our lives. But you must show us you are worthy of our honour."

The Zeltron could sense as her words stirred something in the gathered warriors. An encouragement invisible to the naked eyes; yet it was there, and it gave the Zeltron a bit more confidence as she went. Sure, she might not be able to defeat a Sith. But in rhetoric, she was on fire that day. Even master Yvain's translation confirmed it.

Sace, on the other hand, wasn't as verbose as before. On second thought, the serpent was presented with a more difficult question. How could the Jedi "protect" someone? Especially if the Sith were having the advantage in numbers that the Wookiees had brought up. Lani might have had a couple of half-fledged thoughts on the matter, but they were brushed aside the moment when Kerritharr addressed the Jedi, and Yvain translated his words.

A show of worth? It would appear that even if Galania could somehow answer the question directed at Sace, the Wookiees also needed something more tangible than words. At least so Lani thought. The only question remained, and that is the question that the young Zeltron asked: "What would you have us do?"

After all, if the Wookiees asked for a proof of worth, they probably had the idea what they'd take for the proof.

The Wookiee's almost never changed their stance and stature. They listened intently to both Jedi, as translated through Yvain, and still they looked worried. They knew that if this war reached them, there would be little they could do to stop it, and at the same time, they dont want to agree to something that would put their people right in the middle of it. Sace wish he knew more...wish he knew what to say to them to calm their nerves. Wished so much for an opportunity...

Yvain spoke Kerrithrarr's works.

"We will prove our worth and dedication!" Sace only needed to be directed as to what test they had for them, he give anything to show them how much he wanted them to trust him, how much he wanted to help them. The determination in his eyes, his voice, had shown for all to see. Though he could not even tell. His mind put in a tunnel of determination, just like in his days racing fighters when he was just a mechanics son. Winning race after race off of sheer will and eagerness to show the world that he was ready to take it head on. And just as then was the serpent now, his tail uncoiling and his body tensing waiting to hear what the Wookiee's wanted from the pair.

At their reply a few of the younger warriors in attendance stood up and began shouting enthusiastically. Yvain shook his head at the comments they were coming out with, that would not do and Kerrithrarr knew it. The elder shouted down the younger members of his clan and slowly regained some semblance of order within the know ruckus cauldron of noise that was the hall. They conversed for a short time, it seemed that the young ones would get some of their wishes granted which Yvain was not a hundred percent in agreement of but needs must. Finally Kerrithrarr turned back to the trio of Jedi and spoke their wishes.

"Strength and Courage, that is what we would expect from our allies so we wish for a test of it." Yvain began translating. "For Strength, shall we say a display of your lightsaber prowess? Two of our warriors against one of you. Bowcaster vs Lightsaber. Sounds fun right." Yvain shook his head but could only chuckle in response to the outlandish demands of the Wookiee's. "For Courage a climb, one of you vs one of us, first to the top of the tree wins." The hall that they sat in was perhaps just over halfway up there was still a good one hundred fifty feet left to the top. "Well Padawan's I will let you decide who does what."

Galania Tallis seemed to be the opposite of Sace Vsil. Where the Sluissi was eager to prove himself, Lani anticipated the trials with concealed uncertainty. The Wookiees sure were having a heated argument, and even Yvain acted as if he was having some reservations on the matter. The young Zeltron shuddered when Kerrithrarr interrupted the growling Wookiees with the roar that was loud and scary even by Kashyyyk standards.

But it was when Yvain announced the trials when the Zeltron's heart truly sank. A fight against two hulking brutes with deadly weapons? A lightsaber that Lani didn't have on her person? That almost seemed like suicide. Could those big scary things they called weapons even shoot not to kill? And even if Lani caught one of the whatever-that-big-scary-thing-shot-with with her blade, would she still not be blown away? The Zeltron's mind raced, trying to figure out how she could even hope to defeat a Wookiee, let alone two of them.

Oh wait, Sace probably can't climb up. And he's got to be the stronger of us. It would appear that nature had made the choice for the Zeltron. And Lani's heart sank even deeper, a curse almost escaping her lips. She hadn't brought the ascension gun either! Both the lightsaber and the ascension gun technically weren't Lani's. They belonged to her missing sister, Jedi Master Nykoria Tallis. After barely surviving a mishap on what turned out to be a Sith-occupied world, Lani had deemed herself unworthy of using Kori's possessions. When going to Kashyyyk, she had left them at the temple on Yavin IV. The two things that could help with either of the challenges.

Turning towards the serpent, she leaned in closer, so that only he could hear her. The whisper was full of genuine resignation: "Well, take your pick. It doesn't matter to me which challenge I get. I think we are karked either way."

Sace was confident in that he and his fellow Padawan would be able to display both courage and strength. The Sluissi knew that he certainly did not have the skill with a lightsaber, but if that task was meant for him, then he would prove himself to be as worthy an opponent as he could. Sace felt that his skills would better be used in the climbing aspect, however. Despite what many would think, serpents excelled at climbing, or at least Sace figured he was good enough at it. Though regardless the task, he knew that giving it his all was what mattered, and in that he had no doubt in.

Unsure of what his fellow Jedi would rather choose, though by her response, their confidence level differed.

"We will passs this tessst...because we mussst. These feats definitely ssseem challenging, and that is because they are meant to be." Sace offered what words he could to encourage his teammate.

"I can sssee that you have sssome doubt...I will let you decide what you would rather take on. Ssshow no fear...even if we cant trump them, we will give them a run for their money!" He continued.

The young Padawan did not have a lightsaber of his own, though he did have his katana...and little did he know that the blade was merely a cover for a lightsaber hilt underneath, taken from the possessions of his long passed Jedi relative. Sace just hoped that the apparent katana would be good enough should that be the task he was given.

A part of Lani actually hoped that it was their wisdom being tested, not strength and courage. That it was enough to yell something like "Are you all completely nuts? Who asks people to do that?!" and it would resolve the trial to everyone's satisfaction. But that would've been too good to be true. The Zeltron didn't sense a glimpse of shrewdness in how the tasks were presented to them. Furthermore, the unlucky snake by her side seemed to believe that the task was genuine. It's stupid, stupid, stupid. Who asks people to risk life for entertainment value? Lani's keen mind eagerly reminded her that many people in the galaxy did just that.

To top it off, Sace arrogantly believed that they could do it. He even gave Lani the choice of how she would prefer to die: by going splat after falling of a tree, or by being shot with a Wookiee trademark weapon... Or beaten, if she was unlucky. How very karking generous! At least, when put into perspective like that, things were starting to make sense to Lani.

Climbing the tree meant a chance at plummeting to her death. And if not, she'd definitely be too cautious, trying her best to avoid the said fall. That would guarantee a challenge lost. Not that fighting the Wookiees would be any better in terms of winning. But if their weapons could be set to stun, it at least meant a higher chance of survival. Catching a quick bolt sounded like a less scary prospect. And even when Lani would lose, then the self-assured snake would at least have a shot at winning the other trial.

"Alright," the Zeltron spoke outloud after a deep breath, turning towards Yvain and the chieftain. With a degree of resignation to her fate, but also with a forced shade of a smile on her lips, the Zeltron declared her decision. "I choose mauling over splatting."

Sace was confident regardless of the outcome. His lack of experience in these types of situations didnt break his spirit. He understood that these challenges were meant to test them, geared to favor the Wookiee's, but he wouldnt let that crush his determination. The Wookiee's were taller, stronger, and more familiar with these tests, but Sace wouldnt give them the satisfaction of making it easy for them. He also understood that they were being tested on their strength and courage, though that may not necessarily mean their physical strength. Strength to push themselves as far as they could go, to their limits to prove that they were worthy of the trust of the Wookiee people.

The serpent nodded at his counterpart and noticed that she did not have a lightsaber, to use for her challenge. Sace did not think that he was the only one without one, he didnt think that other Padawans were even near his level of novice experience of the Order. The Sluissi unhinged his sheathed katana from around his shoulder and extending it over to the Zeltron...

"Here...take thisss...you'll probably need it more than me for your challenge." The Sluissi said handing her his weapon. He trusted her, despite the fact that he didnt really even know her. Though she was a Jedi Padawan just like him.

"Get in close enough, you can bypasss their bows...get in even closer and you can bypasss their reach..." The tip came from an analytical view of a good mechanic and ace pilot. Having analyzed the Wookiee's weapon and themselves, he noticed that this would be the tactic he would use himself.
