Location: Clearing South of the Venator

The Nautolan's smile was infectious, and it fully erased whatever unease that was left in Reiel's system. It was nice to be in the company of someone who exuded an affable aura for a change, and to Reiel it was a breath of fresh air. Being a bounty hunter, and a Mandalorian as well, she always found herself in places where people tended look at her with either fear, distrust, and even hostility. Not only was the Nautolan seemingly friendly, he also appeared trustworthy – smiling and talking to her with ease as he did so.

The young Mandalorian found herself grinning at his remark about the huge ship. She could only agree with the statement, allowing herself a light chuckle as she nodded.

"If it weren't for the technology and the science behind it, I might say it's sorcery that keeps these things floating up," she concurred, still grinning at him despite the helmet covering her head.

While Reiel had been taught by her buir not to trust other people so readily than she previously did when she was yet to be under his care, there was something about the Nautolan that made her think that it was alright to trust him. Well, he'd been really genuinely nice so far and showed no reason for Reiel to be wary towards him. Her aching bruises seemed to protest at the thought of the Nautolan turning out to be the opposite afterwards, and so Reiel trusted that her judgement about him would hold true and fair.

She smiled even more when he bowed politely and began to answer her questions. So that was why his routine looked familiar, having been taught in many places across the galaxy. Her adoptive father fought using a style that resembled this one, and Reiel could now see where her buir tweaked some movements to better suit his hulking stature. The young Mandalorian's weakness might be close combat, but it did not curb her desire to learn so she could improve herself even in the slightest. So when the Nautolan played coy with that last comment, Reiel's eyes were already wide with open interest.

"Really? May I ask what reason– ouch!" the young Mandalorian asked, then winced, when she swiftly shifted her upper body to his direction. Pain flared in her sides, and she quickly stifled the additional sounds of pain that almost escaped her throat.

Aw, kriff. You never did pull even a single punch, Dad, you big bully.

She was wincing slightly underneath her bucket because of the sudden pain, but Reiel made sure that her voice would remain even and interested as she repeated the question. "What's the reason it's well-known? It's not some form of Jedi martial arts, is it? 'Cause it doesn't look like it to me."

Scene #1

Nara didn't doubt they'd have a Corvette. The work had slowed down some, especially when it came to clearing out the hull itself, but it was promising. The CR90 hadn't been as wrecked as they'd hoped, and the creatures inside had been 'encouraged' to find a new home. She hoped that the scorch marks from her blaster would buff out once they got everything ready.

She'd noticed Kori's lack of an answer, though. It wasn't like her to stifle something. Nara'd been expecting a sarcastic reply or a blunt dismissal, but the complete lack of acknowledgement revealed a lot to her. Is she upset about it? Or does she not care? Strange. Nara was aware that her frustration was probably showing on her face. All sharp and glaring, suspicious and not afraid to show it. She never had been good at hiding her true feelings.

"She's not suggesting it, just heavily implying it," Nara replied to Fiach, looking over at Kori's sabers. "I'd say that I don't get in full-on fights with people who'll beat me. I prefer to cheat," she said, looking over at her friend. Nara knew Kori was a better duelist than her, she'd seen her in action on more than one world, against more than one kind of combatant. "I get the feeling, though, that you won't let me off that easily."

She took her saber from her belt and twirled the hilt around a little, before twisting the dial and watching the blade ignite, the sapphire-blue contrasting with the golden-orange of the dawn light. "For the record though, I would've shoved you off the side of the Venator if this were a real fight. Much easier. That, or dropped enough explosives on the side of this thing to cleave it off."

It didn't take a Zeltron to see that Nara had an issue Kori dodging the topic. We'd have to talk about it... Eventually. Though knowing Nara, Nykoria wouldn't be surprised if she'd bring up the topic again during the sparring. In front of Fiach and possibly someone else. A rather unpleasant prospect. But for the time being, it seemed that the fellow Jedi were ok with a sparring... Even if Nara sounded somewhat reluctant. "Please, it's not like I'm forcing this on you," a rasp reply came from under the helmet.

As Nara prepared to ignite her blade, Nykoria reached for her own hilts and interlocked them to create a saberstaff. She chuckled at the mention of being shpved off the Venator; still, she cautiously took a few steps backwards and away from the drop, positioning Nara between heself and the edge. Kori's visor was fixated on the sly Jedi: "Deal. You force me to the edge, you win."

After pondering for a moment on the second part of Nara's reply, the Zeltron scoffed: "Sure. I'd like to see you try and conjure some explosives out of thin air right now." With that, one of the staff's blades ingnited with an azure glow, angled horizontally towards Kori's left. Although Nykoria could appreciate where Nara was coming from, one's own capabilities came first. Gear or allies wouldn't always be at hand; but your own skill and training would be. A press of a button, and another hiss indicated that the saber was set to the training mode now: incapable of severing a limb, but still capable of light burns.

Speaking of skill and circumstances, fights wouldn't always be fair. That's why the Zeltron briefly turned her head—or rather, visor—towards the other woman: "Fiach, care to join Nara against me?" On second thought, it was an arrogant move on Kori's part. But for the moment, she wanted that sort of challenge. Even if it would mean a humiliating defeat. Naturally, Nykoria hoped for something better than that. Either way, the Zeltron prepared herself to repel an attack on two fronts. She'd let Oren's proteges make the first move.

Location: The Overlook

Izel had spent most of her morning serving as overseer for the Guardians' new Ugor employees while they worked on the corvette. Despite their cooperation these aliens turned out to be just as difficult to deal with as their reputation suggested, and since it had been her idea to bring them onto the project she had been saddled with the responsibility of keeping them in line. After a few days of this nonsense Izel was just about at the point of pulling her antennae out. She needed a break.

Walking away from the construction site She reached out with her Force sense, quickly identifying some familiar presences nearby and looking up. The Overlook huh? She approached the old Venator without a hint of reservation. Unlike Nara or Fiach, for a Vratix scaling a vertical surface was more like a casual stroll then an exercise. While walking up the side of the aging wreck she tried to sense her Padawan. She hadn't caught sight of Isen all day. She didn't worry for him, and as a matter of fact she wasn't really in the mood for any kind of training either, but she liked to keep tabs on her apprentice. She didn't want him getting into trouble with any more scavengers.

Izel popped her head over the top side of the Venator just as Kori and Nara were facing off. "Hello- Oh, are we fighting?" She asked as she effortlessly climbed up onto the topside of the hull. "And here I thought we were all such great friends." She said jokingly as she maneuvered around the two Jedi preparing for their spar and sidled up to Fiach. "Good morning." She said to her with a slight bow of her head before turning to watch the show. She didn't have popcorn, but she did pull a piece of fruit from one of her satchels and took a bite as she watched in anticipation.

Location: Landing Pad

As it seemed she had quickly become something of a nuisance to those working on the corvette Eisa had opted to keep Curse preoccupied with various bits of busy work. Mostly scouring the scrapyards for needed parts. In this case however she was asked to pick up a replacement docking rail for the Rim Hopper's shuttle. Fortunately the little Pistoeka worked faster than any organic could. She could easily traverse the scrapyards without risk of injury, and fit into small spaces her larger companions couldn't. And she always knew where to look to find the right parts. It had taken her only a few hours to track down what Eisa needed. Now she just needed someone a bit bigger to move it. And to deal with the scrap rats that had made a nest around it.

Curse clambered up to the landing pad, prepared to inform her master of her find. But then she spotted a new visitor, a Sojourn class shuttle. She had seen them on Ajan Kloss but never had the opportunity to get her pincers on one. It was like a gift had just fallen out of the sky!

Slowly the buzz droid crept around the ship, moving as stealthily as possible as she approached the sound of voices. Eisa was there talking with what looked like two more Jedi. So they weren't enemies then. Still, it sounded like they would be here for a while moving cargo anyway. They wouldn't need their ship in the meantime would they? Just a few cut wires and missing pieces, nothing that couldn't be repaired in a day...

While Eisa and the new arrivals continued their introductions Curse would move silently as a mouse, crawling up onto the loading ramp and skittering up into the ship. At least that was her intent. She was quite talented at hiding from organics but Jedi always seemed to have an edge on her. It must have been that "Force" upgrade that Eisa was always talking about.

Scene 3 - @Rennek Vaal @Rao Jor @Curse
Location: The Landing Pad

A chuckle and a shrug was offered, as the Jedi questioned over the brand of the beverage that she had tossed at him. "Kriff knows, pinched a few crates off of a Hutt and all the labels got washed off in the cooler" Eisa responded, with a playful grin before necking the remaining contents of her bottle and then tossing it towards the deckchair she had been lounging on, a satisfied fist pump coming as a result as it landed square on the stretched canvas. Her attention moving back to Rennek and the emerging Padawan learner as the Jedi Knight introduced themselves, a coy grin flashing on her features as her eyes rested on the young Zabrak. "Ah and by assist, you mean he's gonna be doing all the heavy lifting right?" She responded, before shooting the young Padawan a playful wink.

The fiery haired spacer's attention shifted back to Rennek as he questioned why part of the Order was doing congregating on the planet wide scrap pile. "Well its Purp's fault mostly" Eisa responded initially, whilst gesturing vaguely towards the overlook where the Zeltron Knight and a few other Jedi had buggered off to earlier in the morning. "She's looking on fixing up an old blockade runner for the Order. Part of this new Sith Spanking initiative" she added as she folded her arms over her chest, a wild grin crossing on her features as she rounded off the explanation, even though in Kori's own words it was part of the Jedi Guardians group that she was trying to organise and lead to take on a much more direct and proactive means of dealing with the rising Sith threat. The fiery haired spacer had decided that it was better to term it as how she saw it - a means to spank the Sith kriffers as and when they decide to cause trouble.

Cocking her head off to the side, Eisa's gaze passed over and around Rennek and the Padawan he had brought along with him. A wry knowing grin crossing her features as she felt an all too familiar presence come into close proximity. One of the advantages of possessing the Force as well as spending countless months and hours in close proximity to her crewmates within the Rim Hopper, she could tell when her Chief Mechanic was near by. "Ahh that's nice of you to come and help out.... Curse" Eisa spoke out, and likely from the Jedi's perspective, seemingly to no one. But her voice and words were being directed to the little Buzzdroid that was trying to sneak into the Jedi's shuttle. "Don't throw your back out" She added with a light chuckle, before taking a few steps towards the Jedi Shuttle's loading ramp.

Rao-Jor's eyes stared blankly as the grizzled Jedi spoke. "Oh," he said, rubbing his neck one-handedly as the man suggested that he should stretch his legs. "No, I'm fi-" However, before he managed to finish his sentence, the Jedi strode off. The Zabrak looked at the things strewn around him. Who was he trying to kid here? It must have been obvious even to the slowest person in the Galaxy that it had not been the most comfortable journey.

He sighed deeply and shed his dark brown cloak, brushing down his tan tunic and trousers before he followed in the Jedi's footsteps out onto the landing ramp. There, he joined the Jedi just in time to hear him introduce himself as Rennek Vaal to another Human that he supposed was a Jedi too. When it was the Padawan's turn, he smiled and said: "I'm Rao-Jor. My master sent me to help." It took him an instant to realise how stupid that sounded - why would Master Zano send his young Padawan to Bracca and not go with him himself, if he had indeed deemed the mission important enough. Luckily, neither one of the two Jedi commented on it. Rennek had already specified Rao-Jor's purpose to the woman, saying that he was there to assist him. The woman made a comment about Rao-Jor doing all the heavy lifting and winked playfully, which made the young Padawan smile and stand a little taller.

Rao-Jor ran ahead of Rennek and the woman into the shuttle. He wanted to show initative, and also to, uhm, tidy up the cargo hold a little before they both entered it. However, as he was tidying the hold, he would notice a movement out of the corner of his eye. When he turned to look, he didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Only if whatever was there chose to reveal itself would he notice it. If not, he would simply finish tidying up and wait for Rennek to enter the hold and tell Rao-Jor which crates to unload first.

Hal hated mornings about as much as he hated slavery, which was to say the least, a lot. Though many of his compatriots had complex morning routines and rituals, he could never bring himself to do the same. The Order was asking enough of him as it was - waking up early just wasn't worth it. So every morning, likely after most of the others had already awoken, he would finally wake up only to slam his head against the side of the cramped X-Wing cockpit where he slept. Every morning. Without fail.

That always woke him up.

Then, begrudgingly, he'd pull on an outfit, set up his rebreather, and make his way over to the Venator where all the other Jedi would gather. The ascent was surprisingly easy, but then again, what wasn't when you were a telekinetic space monk? That being said, it was still challenging enough to wake him up thoroughly, and by the time he reached the top his mind was sharp and clear. At least, relative to his usual state.

This particular morning, what caught Hal's eye as he clambered over the edge of the fallen warship was the sight of a woman preparing to spar with Nara and another Jedi he hadn't formally met. As the Knight made his way towards the scene, he slowly recognized the woman as Kori - it had been hard to tell it was her with the mask on - and a spectator as Izel, who he'd met at the same meeting he'd met the Zeltron. Though he was looking forward to getting to know all of them, he decided not to interrupt the spar and instead moved over towards the Vratix Knight.

"Morning everyone!" Hal declared with a slight nod and a grin on his face. As he pulled up alongside Izel, he pulled off his rebreather and pulled off the hood of his poncho, allowing his dark hair to wave about in the wind. "Nice to see you again Izel, mind if I join you?"

Fiach noted Nara’s words, pleased she’d understood, and then smiled at her response to Kori. Then, understanding that they would indeed duel, she removed her own saber hilt from her belt at Kori’s suggestion.

Her eyes narrowed at the suggestion they might actually push someone off the side of the ship, but presumed this was more banter. She certainly hoped so.

Her eyes were drawn to the Zeltron, who preferred a saber staff it seemed – although the use of two separate hilts suggested she was also adept at using them separately.

“This should be an interesting exercise,” she said to Nara, “given we’ve never faced a saber user together. Two can get in each other’s way as much as present double the challenge.”

She set an adjustment on her saber and then, with a snap-hiss, she activated the lilac blade. Smiling, as ever, she stood close to Nara and took up the classic Soresu opening stance. “Ready when you are.”

SCENE #3: @Topher @@Casmer @Reyn
LOCATION: Sojourn Shuttle, Landing Pad

Rennek failed to notice the small buzz droid 'infiltrate' the Shuttle, but the R3 unit which was performing its routine maintenance checks did not. The tri wheel astromech whistled and beeped, protruding a metallic rod from its chassis which sparked intermittently with the intention of shocking the intruding mech. It approached Curse with caution and its electrified appendage lunged back and forth to reiterate its defensive stance. Luckily the young Padawan entered the cargo hold, prompting the astromech to speed towards his direction in panic. In its standard binary language its screamed, hoping Rao-Jor understood "01010011 01101101 01100001 01101100 01101100 00100000 01001000 01110101 01101101 01100001 01101110 00100001 00100000 01010111 01100101 00100000 " the droid circling the adolescent Zabrak until it followed it.

The commotion inside the Shuttle prompted the Jedi Knight, his attention turning towards the hold accompanied with a sigh "By the Force....what is that Padawan doing?". He casually walked up the ramp, entering the Shuttle. To his surprise R3 was concerned, which was a huge change of 'personality' considering the small mech was wound tight in its programming. Upon closer inspection Rennek could see it once again lunging towards the Buzz droid, its shocking rod lunging back and forth in panic. The blue eyed Human glanced at Eisa "One of yours?" he asked, noticing her lack of concern towards the intruding droid. He assumed she was at least acquainted or aware of it, Rennek waving his hand to dismiss his astromech "Thats enough Are Three. Though I admire your defensive programming, it is unnecessary. Return to your duties, if you will." The small droid whined, returning its stun weapon to its holster before beeping a mild expletive on its departure. Rennek sighed "Forgive him. Hes a cranky old thing and prone to rude outbursts. He didn't mean it." his attention turned towards the Padawan, an aura of eagerness surrounding him "Lets start moving these goods. I assume these are being transferred to your ship?" the last part of dialogue was directed towards Eisa who was now at his back.

While waiting for her answer he began unstrapping the ratchet clips harnessing the bindings which held the loose packages in place. Once all 6 strops were loosened from the first of four pallets he begun lifting the boxes, their weight substantial but not overbearing "Banthas balls! Whats in these things?" his question was more a voiced complaint than an actual line of inquiry as he slowly made his way down the ramps. As he begun his descent he called out to the Padawan "Don't overdo yourself. The last thing I need is your Master lecturing me because you've overexerted yourself, because if they do-" he smirked "I'll tell them YOU said they sent you."

He reached the bottom of the ramp, stopping for a moment as he caught his breath. At this age he was ill suited for such heavy lifting, but stubbornness empowered his refusal to admit it "So a bunch of Jedi are trying to reinstate one of these ships in hopes to strike the Sith? And the Council agreed to this? They must have if I'm here dropping supplies off to you. Those fools." The Watchman had a running history of "conflict" with the higher ranks of the Jedi Order. It was one of the main reasons he had not ascended to the rank of Master despite his age.

Izel had thought Fiach was going to be waiting on the sidelines while Kori and Nara fought, but it seemed she was taking part in the duel as well. Two on one? Bold of Nykoria. Izel knew she was a skilled duelist, but not having sparred with her personally she wasn't aware the Zeltron was considered that talented. Or maybe it was just overconfidence, either way she'd quickly find out.

Her attention was drawn next to another human as he clambered onto the topside of the Venator and approached. She recognized him as Hal Mikko, another Knight she had briefly met when Kori first announced her plans to form the Guardians. She had seen little of him since, but was eager to get to know her allies better.

"Not at all," She responded cheerily to his question to join her on the sideline of the match. "Good morning. Hungry?" She asked, and opened the bag she was carrying filled with fresh food. Spending all day working on the corvette she had quickly learned to keep supplies on hand at all times. After he took something or declined she would close the bag again and turn her eyes back towards the three women preparing to spar, though she continued to speak with the newcomer.

"Things have been so hectic I haven't had much time to speak with others." She explained. "So how are you? Are the Guardians shaping up to be everything you expected?" As much progress as they'd made things still weren't as far along as Izel personally would have hoped. She was eager to get out into the galaxy and start fighting the Sith, she wondered if others shared her sentiments. Of course considering everyone here was a part of Kori's initiative, she assumed they were all of the same mind.

Curse seemed to be successful in slipping past the two Jedi initially, only to be confronted by a noisy R3 unit with a shock stick. Rather than panic the buzz droid chittered back playfully as she easily evaded the larger droid's attacks. Naturally her own sabotage programs began to kick in and she started spinning up her circular saw as she beeped back to the astromech in binary. //What's this? Well aren't you a pretty pile of scrap! I always love tearing apart you astromechs, so many fun gadgets in there...//

Unfortunately before she could get down to business the Jedi came aboard, drawn to the R3 unit's blabbering. Spoilsport. Curse let out a disappointed whir as she switched off her saw and scrabbled over to crawl up Eisa's arm. //I found the parts you were looking for.// She explained to her master sullenly. //There's a minor scrap rat infestation though. I'll need your help to retrieve them.//

From her perch on the spacer's shoulder she observed the Jedi as they got to work. How utterly boring. Now she'd completely missed out on her chance to get up to some mischief. Instead she settled for making threatening statements and gestures to the R3 unit whenever it got close.

Shaking her head slightly in amusement, at her crew mate's antics. She had grown to learn the little indicators and quirks of the Buzz droid's reactions to know that Curse was disappointed, clearly this time it was the case of being sabotage blocked. Reaching over to the droid that had now perched upon her shoulder, the fiery haired spacer quickly wiped away at a build up of grime and dirt that had collected around one of Curse's spindly limbs, whilst she reported on her findings. "Nice one bud! We'll go and clear out the scrap rats after this" Eisa commented, as she flicked away the grime deposit off from her fingers and onto the decking plates.

Leaning back against the bulkhead, Eisa watched as the two Jedi struggled to lift and manoeuvre the crates, a bemused expression crossing her features as they waned under the strains of doing manual labour. A grin crossing her features as the Knight exclaimed at the shock of the weight of the parts stored in the crates. "Mostly parts and power relays" Eisa commented as she rolled her head back and forth to the side, working out a crick in her neck muscles. "I think if anything the council are reluctant in being proactive against the Sith, but guess they've realised that if they did nothing and resisted the consensus they'd have another Revan like fraction appear in the Order" Eisa commented before pushing herself off from the bulkhead with a slight sigh, as she watched the Knight struggle to lug the crates over to the mouth of the boarding ramp.

Clearly these two weren't used to dealing with the logistics of shifting cargo about. Stepping off to the side, the spacer made a beeline over towards a flat bed trolley that was hung off the wall. Setting it down and powering it up, the spacer pushed it towards the crates with her boot and with a deep breath summoned the Force to her. Her remaining natural arm reaching out and with careful manipulations of the Force through her fingers, raised the cargo crates off of the deck and onto the hover loader. "One thing guess the Order still ain't teaching" Eisa quipped with a slight chuckle as she waved off the summoned energies of the Force, a bright smirk curling on her lips. "Gotta make your life easier, when you can" She added before pushing the cargo laden hoverloader out of the hold and down the cargo ramp . "Means the sooner you're done the sooner you can put your feet up" She concluded with a quick chuckle and shooting the two Jedi a playful wink as she manoeuvred the cargo out of the ship.,

Nara nodded towards Fiach, who always seemed keen to prove and improve her own skills. Always so diligent.

"Well, I'll try not to get in your way then," Nara replied to Fiach's suggestion, giving her a smirk as she noticed Izel approaching. She rolled her eyes cheerfully at the comment, feeling a little more at rest as more people arrived. It became less about ill-feelings and sparring, more just a morning activity.

And an audience for when Kori inevitably kicks your butt. Very true, but Nara had made no claims of being a duellist. Kori had more of a reputation in that area, therefore more to lose.

Even if I did, when was the last time I cared about reputation, particularly around Jedi?

"Best way to practice, apparently I'm not allowed to bomb anyone," Nara told Izel, smirking as she considered her options. With that, Nara went for it. Holding the saber hilt in both hands, she dashed towards Kori, seeing the reflection of the saber blades in her friend's helmet. Facing an opponent with a split-saber had never gone well for her before, so she changed her usual tack. As she reached Kori, she pushed and thrust her blade pointedly towards Kori's stomach. An opening gambit, sure to be blocked of course... but hey. It could be a good distraction for Fiach to come round and slash her in the back.

Jago was thrilled and smiled wider as the young woman showed interest in leanring. Though he did raise an eyebrow as she completely failed to hide that she was injured. Though from stories he'd heard of Mandalorians they were usually fresh from one fight or another. He had to wonder if this Buir she mentioned earlier had anything to do with it. Jago wouldn't press her about it, if she didn't feel like talking about it he wasn't about to force the issue.

"Ah well it's actually the opposite. Teras Kasi was actually developed to fight Jedi and other force users." He gave her a playful wink, though with his large back eyes the gestured would seem very exaggerated. "It actually roughly translates to Steel Hands in an ancient language. Though at this point no one really remembers why the art was even needed. Though I can say from experience it's pretty effective yeah?" He chuckled softly to himself. "So Mando who happens to find herself stranded on Bracca with nothing else to do...want to learn some Teras Kasi? In exchange for the lesson maybe tell me how you got those bruised ribs yeah?"

A fighting style devoted to combat sorcerers? Reiel remembered her father talking to her about it when she had freshly been inducted to the Mandalorian Creed, but not quite the name the style went by. Glad for the Nautolan's further explanation, she nodded her head and carefully crafted yet another question in her mind before voicing it out.

The offer of a leason on the arts of Teras Kasi had Reiel turning to fully face the martial artist, eyes wide and grin excited under her helmet, question forgotten. Perhaps he would begin with an exhibition to first show her how certain maneuvers were done? Or would he jump straight to the mock combat?

The latter won't definitely be good for my ribs, given how bruised they are. But what the heck.

She had to curb her excitement at the prospect, however, and wondered what the Nautolan might ask for return. Reiel knew not to expect to get handed knowledge and stuff for free, so she quickly thought of what to offer–

"Oh!" the young Mandalorian exclaimed in surprise, head tilting up to meet the Nautolan's gaze. He wasn't kidding, right? That was what he wanted in return: tell him where she got her injuries?

Well now. Reiel assumed he would not be satisfied with her telling him point-blank that it was her buir utterly destroying her in mock combat, all things considered. And she didn't really want to paint Mandalorian parenting skills in a really awful light, so she might as well start from the almost-botched mission back on Dantooine. At least that would cover that the beating she received was well deserved. And besides, excellent judge of character she was, Reiel trusted that it would be her and the Nautolan's secret.

And besides, he was pretty quick on catching the fact that the young Mandalorian was stranded on this (interesting) junkyard of a planet.

"Sure thing!" Reiel replied with much enthusiasm, careful not to make sudden movements lest she disturb her karking bruises again. "To be fair, though, the story how I got them is not as exciting as you might be expecting – but here's hoping that the reason why I'm banged up in the first place would make up for the sorry tale, huh?"

With that being said, Reiel smiled up at the Nautolan behind her bucket. "So, uh... does Teras Kasi have something like sub-branches or the like? You know, having taught in many places throughout the Galaxy, someone's bound to adopt it to create new fighting styles, right? Have you encountered people who do that?"

Reiel tried not to ask in rapid fire fashion, she really did. But she was too consumed by her passion to learn new things, however. Here's hoping the Nautolan would turn out to be as patient as he was friendly.

Izel and Hal had made their presence known. Nykoria was too focused on planning how the fight would unfold; that's why all she did was turn her face to the new arrivals briefly and nod; evident only by a brief change of her visor's angle. As Nara went in first for the thrust towards Kori's stomach, the Zeltron chose to a parry. Turning her own blade from the left counterclockwise, she'd have it meet the upper third of Nara's blade with the lower third of her own, in an attempt to redirect its tip away from her own body and outside the guard, to Nara's left.

Hopefully, it meant that Fiach would need a couple of extra seconds, if she wanted to circle around the lock to strike from a different angle. Assuming she wanted to; while Kori's legs were protected from one angle by her own and Nara's blade, the Zeltron's chest and torso were open for a slash for the moment. Though it remained to be seen what Dubh would do and if she'd rush in or try to play it slow and smart.

"Learned this from a Sith I fought," Nykoria commented on her choice of defense. Regardless, the moment Nara's tip of the blade wouldn't be pointing at Kori, the Zeltron would spin a little to the right on her right foot, while the left would attempt to deliver a kick to the back of Nara's right anklem, right below the knee. All the while, Nykoria would try to maintain contact with Nara's blade, to prevent it from breaking the lock and going above her guard for the head.

Fiach was a devout sparrer. She practiced velocities daily – but took the opportunity to go up against different opponents at every opportunity. Unfamiliarity, she had discovered, was a key weakness when it came to facing someone. For unfamiliarity led to doubt – and this eroded a Jedi’s effectiveness. So, she looked to duel with anyone and everyone who would spar with her – and she often used Forms different to her preferred Soresu, just to keep her options open. Of late, she’d been utilising her shoto too, but for today, a single blade and the third Form was her choice.

She nodded to Nara when she mentioned not getting in each other’s way. To Fiach, it was not a humorous statement, but one of fact. Especially as she’d rarely gone two against one before.

As she relaxed, Nara made the first move. It was a bold one and had a high degree of win-lose about it – at least to Fiach.

As their blades made contact, Fiach simply changed position. She was a student of Soresu for a reason. She rarely went on the offensive and preferred to weigh up her opponent’s strengths and weaknesses before committing to even basic counter actions. It was, as many of her instructors had pointed out, a weakness in her armoury. But she had never changed her approach despite the feedback. She would maintain her preferred style – to defend, to expend as little energy as possible and to wait for her opponent to expose their weakness before she would look to attack.

So, as the two engaged, Fiach made sure she moved behind the Zeltron. It was not a direct action, but her presence there would at the very least be a distraction – which would allow Nara greater freedom to press an advantage should one arise.

But, she was also aware that sparring was more than just saber action and as she spotted Kori aim a kick at Nara’s ankle, she allowed her left hand to slip from her saber hilt and she extended the fingers towards Kori’s lower leg. She used the Force to pull at the heel of Kori’s planted foot. It was typical Fiach. She eschewed broad, basic assaults and preferred focused strikes that were more subtle. “I learned that from a Sith too…” she muttered under her breath as she waited to see the outcome of her action.

A chuckle would follow the Mando's comment about the story. "Ah I'm sure it's interesting enough for a brief lesson yeah?" He circled around the woman and stepped back into the center of the clearing and faced the young Mandalorian. He dropped into the typical opening teras kasi stance and considered his options. He figured a bit more explanation was in order.

"So there are a few variations of the art all around the galaxy, mostly altered to fit with certain species body types...but the art has been so refined over the years that variation has never been to wide spread. Teras kasi in it's current form is seen as one of the most effective combat styles in the galaxy, so the core hasn't changed much over the years. That doesn't mean that you couldn't learn some teras kasi and use it with whatever mandolarian styles you know. Teras kasi is very adaptable that way yeah? Even a few techniques can catch someone by surprise" He smiled as he talked and eyed the Mando, from the look of her posture and the wincing from earlier he doubted she could handle a mock combat, then a thought struck him.

"Since it seems like you've been through trash compactor, we'll skip the sparring. No point in just adding to your bruises yeah? Well unless you Mando's are into that kinda thing." He laughed lightly at the last comment. "I think you should just show me a bit of what you know and we'll figure something out from there yeah? So I'll only defend for now, I want to see if you can hit little Jago. So...come at me Mando!"

...he really was intent on giving her Teras Kasi lessons, wasn't he?

Reiel gave the Nautolan her undivided attention while he explained what she needed to know first about the martial art. He surely knew his stuff, briefly yet efficiently answering her questions straight to the point.

The stance he fell into was familiar, having seen it from her buir plenty of times during sparring lessons. The young Mandalorian mirrored the Nautolan's actions, feeling a tad conscious as she adjusted her footing. Given her size and build, further emphazised when she was out of the full cuirass, her father had crafted a fighting style that would suit her physique – something that was less combative but fast-paced, ensuring a quick end to a hand-to-hand combat should she ever find herself locked in one.

Given that close combat was her weakness, however, had Reiel still struggling with mastering the technique despite having used it whenever she's on a job or just caught in someone else's trouble. Even then her fighting style often devolved into crude ways, ergo using her heavy blaster rifle as a club for bashing opponents.

Primitive, but it saved her more times than she could count on her fingers.

Reiel shared the Nautolan's amusement, laughing with him when he commented on her current state. She was grateful for the consideration, but there was no point in being a Mandalorian if she would shy away from a spar. Sure, she was bruised and all, but to pass up on a hands-on learning experience was off the table. She was not laandur – delicate; fragile. If she could take a beating from her father who was built like a kriffing tank, she definitely would be fine taking the Nautolan on.

....and this wasn't a full-blown sparring like with Dad, before he kicked her out of the ship, right?

The Nautolan – Jago, his name must be, judging from his words – told her that he would take on the defensive. Reiel appreciated that.

"Alright, um, Jago. Well," she told him awkwardly, one foot pressing forward and ignoring her protesting bruises, "here goes nothing!"

The young Mandalorian would move forward, shoulders squared and lifting her right fist in a feint. She knew that it would not fool Jago – he looked like an expert combatant, if she was being honest – but she had to at least try, her left hand already curling into a fist out of his view and ready to deliver a quick jab to his exposed side.
