12 hour glowrod life
The stun glowrod is designed to combine a common police glowrod with the ever popular stun baton, creating a useful multipurpose tool for close-quarters engagements. The head around the glowrod acts as a standard stun weapon, generating an electrical field that releases on contact with surfaces to unleash a medium strength stun blast on the target surface. A solid hit to an unprotected chest or head will knock the victim unconscious, while unprotected limbs will go numb. The stun effect will also bleed through armor and the greater weight of the baton means it imparts more impact force on a hit than a regular baton. The weapon takes standard blaster powerpacks at the base and delivers ten charges per pack.
The glowrod systems, meanwhile, are integrated in such a way that they can survive the blunt impact and discharge of the weapon without breaking. This features works the same as a standard glow rod, illuminating areas in front of the light opening and running on a separate, 12 hour battery.
The baton comes in the standard 40 cm length most commonly used by police and a smaller "pocket" version as a personal defense weapon.
Legal. This is a common law enforcement and self-defense weapon that should not draw too much attention in most systems.
With Sector Rangers and the BHG becoming big factions in this timeline I wanted to create a useful weapon for knocking out suspects and assets in melee combat, and navigating dark areas.
