Supreme Commander Nikolai Auberry

Nikolai was born on Caridia, to a strong career Navy family. His Father was a Commodore in the PDF naval squadron, and his mother a ship's doctor. All of his siblings had signed up to the PDF as midshipmen. Nikolai wanted something more. He wanted to enroll in the Republic Navy.​

Nikolai enlisted on his birthday, travelling the the training grounds on Coruscant. His family had taught him well. He excelled in entry exams, and was earmarkd for officer training.​

Again, Nikolai excelled, setting records on physical and mental aptitude tests, primarilly in the area of Naval tactics. He was soon granted his first comission.​

Lt. Auberry's first ship was the R.S.S Prometheus, a corvette often used for border patrol on the quieter side of the republic. He quickly gained the respect of the crew, many of whom were older than him. He commonly made rounds of the ship, memorising it in every detail.​

Of course, border patrol has its hazards. The Senior officers were enjoying a meal in the Captain's mess. The area the corvette was currently patrolling had recently endured a spate of pirate attacks.​

From nowhere, a pirate wing raked the corvette, taking out the Captain's mess in the process, and all Senior officers. Nikolai was now a field Captain. The men were quickly roused to battle stations. Under heavy fire, the guns were brought to bear. The fighters were quickly destroyed, but not before the engines had been shot to pieces, leaving them stranded in the void. Nikolai had been commanding from the engine room, the bridge was also lost. As a feedback loop setup in the control systems, one of the fuel tanks behind Nikolai exploded, leaving the flesh on his right side an odd tinge for decades, until expert surgeons finally found a way to restore Nikolai's skin and eye twenty years later. It was three weeks before they were found. By then, there was no hope for saving the right side of Nikolai's face and upper body. This led to his infamous hatred of piracy, the Admiral is often known to staunchly support, and even create, anti-piracy proposals by the senate. He often uses the Caridian senator, Ekkehardt Bartholomaus to act as his voice in the senate on the matters of these policies.​

Upon Nikolai's return and debrief, he was promoted on the spot to captain for saving 400 lives. His first true command was the carrier Testuedo. His actions in the battle of Corvosa earned him another promotion, to commodore at the age of 25, the youngest ever Commodore in the Republic Navy.

Nikolai's command was of battlesquadron Lucius. Five ships were under his direct command, two carriers, an assault boat and two corvettes. Even with this small fleet, Nikolai showed his worth to top brass, taking out squadrons of larger displacement than his own with startlingly few losses. Nikolai was instrumental in the liberation of Aaeton, forming an powerful component of the spearhead thrusting into the heavily armed enemy fleet.

As commodore, he commanded a small squadron of ships. As Admiral, he commanded whole fleets. As Supreme Commander, Nikolai can order all the fleets and armies of the republic. He wields a military power truly distressing to his foes.

At the age of 30, Nikolai was again, young for a supreme commander of the republic armed forces, but he has repeatedly shown that age isn't necessarily the best thing to make good senior officers.

In the days of the Alsakan war, he was reknowned for his ruthlessness in battle, decimating enemy fleets to the man. He was regarded as a hero of the republic for suffering minimal losses in all the battles he spearheaded. He is truly a tactical genius.

At 50, Nikolai flies his flag on the R.S.S vanguard, a first rate battleship of the line, one of the most powerful of its class. He commands the respect of his men, he has had no more than twelve counts of insubordination on his ship, and a startling military record. In life, he is a ruthless man, quiet, yet deadly. His fleets have been known to obliterate whole battlegroups to the man, scouring space for possible survivors.​

He detests any gaudiness and augmentation. When off duty, he wears a simple black uniform, showingonly his rank. He demands the same simplicity of his men. The Wrath's cabins are spartan at best, very little ornamentation to distract the men and women serving. At best, a small, understated trophy board. The only decration Nikolai allows himself is his dress uniforms, always on a mannequins in his quarters, showing progression from cadet to Supreme Commander, from a relativley short lifetime of service.​
