It had been a hot minute since Kaldar had been to Thule. In fact, he was trying to remember if he had ever been here. His return to the fold of the Sith Order would be marked by a triumphant return or something.

Whatever, it was another job handed down to Kaldar. There was an argument to be made that he was an idiot for coming back to the Order proper, but Kaldar didn't really care. The beauty of what he was doing was that he didn't have to justify it to anyone.

His partner was a dangerously unknown entity, but that was part of the fun of this little recon mission. Making things up on the fly was a skill that most Sith thought they had, but few actually managed to pull off well. Most of them just resorted to hacking and slashing their way to victory.

In the meantime, Kaldar sipped down his vanilla sweet cream cold brew as he waited for his partner, legs kicked up on the seat across from him at the outdoor cafe. Apparently he was looking for "horns" was what he'd been told.

After the last “mission” Aza had undertaken for the Sith she’d told herself she wouldn’t be getting into any more official business for awhile. Something about it always seemed to feel like putting shackles on, doing the bidding of the Order over her usual abundant self-serve. Apparently, “a while” hadn’t really meant what she thought it meant, as she found herself once again walking through the streets standing on business looking to meet another man she didn’t know.

Hopefully this one was less paranoid but equally good with a knife.

Azathoth was vastly less familiar with Thule than she had been with The Wheel and it showed in the way that she moved through its streets; slow and methodically, eyes snapping from here to there like a nexu looking for its next victim.

She saw nothing, or at least, nothing seemed to stand out to here that she needed to be wary of. So as she finally approached the meeting place - a coffee shop of all things, how droll - she let her guard down just enough to allow her attention to fall squarely onto her partner, a man with his legs kicked up and sipping on some sugarary concoction.

Aza pushed Kaldar’s feet from her seat without much of a word, as casually as one would dust off their shoulder when checking for lint. Her pupiless, crimson eyes took him in for what he was, or at least what he presented himself as, and she chuckled softly to herself at how differently he came across compared to her last partner.

He was going to be more fun, of that much she was sure.

The air here is far too dry, she said before putting an order with a serving droid that was passing nearby. A small coffee, their darkest roast. No sweetener. No one bothered to tell me your name. I’m Azathoth.

Her tone was casual if not a little guarded, Aza still unsure of what to make of the man before her. But they had a job to do, so for now she would at least assume he was competent. Only time would tell if that judgement was off-base.

Are we soft or loud today? A vague question, but she figured Kaldar was smart enough to understand. The approach they would be taking was the first order of business, and she wanted them both to be on the same page.

Her coffee finally arrived. It was time to get to work.

Kaldar spotted her before she spotted him largely on account of... well, the horns. He moved his feet out of the way and motioned to the chair before she had time to actually touch him.

She was all scowls and grimaces, wasn't she?

As she complained about the air and how no one told her his name, he just stared at her for a moment, not responding to her question.

She really looks like she eats babies, he thought to himself. Maybe that would work to their advantage on a planet full of Sith. At least most people were wary enough about crossing someone who looked steeped in the Dark Side, and Kaldar was sure they could use that to their advantage.

Well I was going to start with quiet, although... he did his signature finger twirl to indicate her whole look ...do you have trouble blending in places sometimes? he asked.

Oh, did I forget to contour my makeup? She quipped back, feigning a look of embarrassed horror. And I seem to have forgotten my compact, how dreadful.

Of course, Aza was fully aware what Kaldar was talking about when he mentioned blending in, and given the obvious and overt look of herself, it was never really something she bothered worrying about. There wasn’t much one could do when you had alabaster skin and two horns protruding a foot away from your face.

You’d be surprised how easy it is to hide from idiots. And most people in this galaxy are idiots. She said, taking a sip of her coffee after the droid had dropped it off.

Despite the man’s baby-like face, Aza sensed that he was stronger than he looked, so she refrained from insulting him directly despite really, really wanting to. You didn’t survive in the Sith by shitting on people that might balk at the idea of sitting back and eating it.

If your mind is as sharp as your tongue, I’m sure we’ll have no issues doing things in whichever method suits you, She was going to say his name there but realized that he’d never given it. Her eyes shifted to his drink for a moment, a smirk pulling at the corners of her lips. Oh well, nicknames would have to suffice. Sweet cream.

She finished her coffee swiftly despite it being nearly boiling hot. Being a Tiefling did have its benefits despite the drawbacks.

Of course, being loud can be a lot more entertaining. And so far, this world has been little else than incredibly boring. She said with a hint of genuine disdain.

The air really was too dry here.

Well, at least we agree on that, he commented as she mentioned that most people were idiots and could be easily fooled.

Oh, you think I'm sweet? he asked, tilting his head to the side. Good instinct, go with that, he said dryly. Yes, he was such a sweetheart.

Kaldar, he finally said, though she hadn't actually asked. It was better than "hey you" probably.

He wasn't actually sure how much she knew about what they were doing here, and although he didn't get the impression she was the squeamish type, it would be good for her to know what they were doing before the... contention started.

So how'd you end up in the Arcanos loyalist camp? he asked, deciding not to mince too many words.
