Tala was the only child of her human father, Narciso, and Tiefling mother, Hiraya. Her Force-sensitivity was discovered during her early teens which prompted her parents to send her to the Jedi Order for her to be able to learn how to control and wield her powers for good. Her parents were humble and kind business owners, their traits and values shaping Tala into a caring individual as she grew.

Though she had experienced the loss of friends and mentors during the invasion and subsequent fall of Yavin IV into Sith hands, Tala remained kind and optimistic. She regularly communicates with her parents, being close to them despite the distance between them, and updates them about her day. The teenager grew up never wanting for anything but she maintained a very simple lifestyle like her parents, her only indulgence being tasteful clothing she herself creates. Tala dreamt of becoming either a designer, a fashion model, or a novelist.
